Survivor Recap: Battle of the Sexes

Survivor is back with it's 905th season...or something along those lines. I don't care how old the show gets I still love it. Something about how basic the premise is and also that it is like the founding reality show. Now, recent seasons have been testing my patience, what with all the old players coming back. It made for a really boring season once the merge hit. Thankfully this season they have scrapped a lot that was dragging Survivor down. First and foremost, the cast is all brand new people. This has been what has hurt the show most lately. I hate watching when people are just fawning over the past contestants brought back to play for their third or fourth time. Also, they got rid of redemption island. The idea wasn't awful, but it just didn't work. For example, once Jesus Matt got back into the game, he was voted right back out. Of course, it didn't help he was an idiot, but there is also no method to prevent that from happening.

So, we start this season with a fresh crop of contestants and one new, but very interesting twist. The tribes are sharing one camp. This is brilliant! One of the things I hate is how it's just a numbers game after merge with the tribes sticking together. This eliminates that by allowing people to make friendships and alliances with the other tribe early in the game.

Speaking of the tribes, they are separated by sexes, another interesting twist. I think this is gonna make for a dramatic season because there is such a difference in thinking that there is bound to be some clashing. And there was, especially judging based on the first episode. Now let's get into this recap...

Let me say, first, that I missed the first 15ish minutes of the show. So I don't know any name or anything about them yet, but I hardly ever do when the season starts. I started the episode when they were chasing the chicken. I mean that literally. It's not a metaphor for anything else. Anyway, both tribes were chasing two chickens then the token "country girl" caught both of them. The guys then asked for one of them because of the deal they made that whoever caught them would give one to the other tribe. The girls decided not to give the boys the chicken because they had stolen some of the girls stuff when they first arrived to the island. Now I didn't see any of this happen, as I mentioned, but shame on both of them. The boys shouldn't have stolen the girls stuff and the girls shouldn't have gone back on their deal.

Both tribes really started in on the distrust quick. The girls then had to backtrack a bit once they realized the boys could be useful in building a shelter and starting a fire. The girls needed fire so badly they were almost willing to get naked for it. That's a low point for the girls. If they had just given up the chicken they wouldn't be in this mess. The girls tried to steal fire while the boys slept, but, you know, stealing fire just isn't practical. They finally settled on an agreement where the girls would make some roofing for the boys in exchange for fire.

This deal ruffled some feathers as a few girls didn't want to make any deal with the boys and wanted to be entirely self reliant. Sorry, but that ship sailed when you offered to get naked. So, less than 24 hours into the game and the girls are already crumbling.

Then we get to the first challenge of the season, which lasts roughly 45 seconds. It was convoluted as usually, but just basically all you need to know was that they had to jump onto a net and then roll out of it. Not difficult in theory. Well, leave it to one of the girls to break her wrist during her fall. Since she had to be taken away to the hospital, the boys were left with two options. They could take the win and send the girls to tribal council, or they could replay the challenge again from the beginning. The made the smart decision and took the win, sending the girls to tribal. The then proceeded to get their panties in a bunch, saying that wasn't very manly of them. It was kind of sad and hilarious. The girls were grasping at straws and trying to emasculate them into playing again. If the girls had the choice they would've sent the boys to tribal, it gives you an early numbers advantage.

At tribal the girls continued to break down, fighting it out in the efforts to make someone look worse than the other. It didn't matter anyway since broken wrist girl wasn't coming back, so she was their elimination for the episode.

I really want to root for the girls, but they make it so hard. They have no idea how they want to act: strong, sexy, etc. They need to pick one and stick with it. I'm not counting them out yet for two reasons. One: they have Colbie, the gay republican on the boys team. He doesn't fit in great with the boys, so he ran to the girls, This can be good for them and him at the merge. Plus they have his trust since they gave him their immunity idol. Second: the boys are going to face a power struggle in the coming weeks. It won't be obvious until about week 3, but soon the boys are all going to be fighting to be the alpha male, which could be the chance for the girls to steal the power.

I'm excited to see how things play out. This season looks like it will be crazy so I am looking forward to it. Did you watch the premiere? What team are you rooting for?

Rate the Runway: The show must go on!

Another great week on Project Runway! This is my favorite part of the season when all the designers are pretty good and there are no horribly weak links. It makes for great competition because, truly, one bad design can send you home. Now that they've weeded out the less talented people, things are really going to take off. This week's challenge was to design an outfit, comprised of separates, for a character in the musical "Godspell". It was a very interesting challenge, and excitingly, all the contestants took risks with their designs. Some worked, while others fell terribly flat. Check out the looks after the jump.

MONDO 10/10

This outfit was spectactular! The absolute best of the night. He did a great job of creating something that looks both elegant and bohemian. I think that truly takes talent. Also, the way the modeled was styled really set off the outfit. The judges agreed and he was the winner of this challenge. I'm glad to see him back on top after last week when the judge's ripped him a new one. I see him staying on top from this point on, leading up to his enevitable win.

MICHAEL 9.5/10
This guy is a freaking boomerang! After two weeks in the top, which included a win, and then two weeks in the bottom, which included a near elimination, he is back with another stunner. I totally called it last week when I said that if he didn't step up he would be out and, wow, did he step up. This outfit is an absolute stunner. The model looked gorgeous walking down the runway and the headpiece was to die for. He makes some pieces that are absolute show stoppers, then others are complete trash. I wish I could figure him out! Also, how cute were the straps on the shoes?? To think they were only for practicality, but they really popped with the emsemble.

AUSTIN 9/10
Giving a classic elegance vibe, this outfit was another great design that walked the runway this week. One of the judges mentioned, and I thought the same, that it had a modern Marie Antionette feel. That statement describes this look perfectly. I think what kept him from really taking it to the next level was the lack of color. For an outfit that will be worn during a broadway show, black just didn't really bring the excitement. He needs to pick a color that would've stood out to even the seat in the back. Aside from that it was a well-made and beautiful look.

KARA 8/10
This was a great outfit, especially considering who designed it. I said last week that I thought her days were numbered and I was correct. This judges decided to send her home this week. She's struggled to find her voice in the past few challenges and I think this week was just her time. She doesn't have an asthetic, so her designs seem scattered and she also lacks confidence. She was the weakest left in the bunch. I can say I'm glad she got to go out on this high note of an outfit. What I liked about it was it's simple elegance. I would say compared to the other designs in the bottom this was better, but they have the benefit of have a better history of good designs.

JERRELL 6/10
I didn't hate this outfit, but holy freaking crap it was boring. I'm falling asleep at the keyboard just looking at the picture. It seemed like he was going for the same type of elegance as Austin, but missed the mark a bit. His outfit reads more outdated than it does classic. He's still doing well enough to float in the middle, but I think he has two weeks max left in him.

MILA 2/10
Whore alert! I mean, the faux fur vest looked straight out of a 70's porno and the skirt was borrowed from an extra on the set of The Brady Bunch. Also, ANY pimp called, he wants his necklace back. What kinda mess is this? The only reason that she gets a higher score than Kenley is because at least this outfit somewhat matched. I'm very surprised she escaped elimination, but her track record is much better than Kara's, so she lives to design another week.

KENLEY 1/10
She makes it in my top outfits two weeks in a row then brings out this eye-sore. Honestly, it would be sad if it wasn't hilariously awful. Literally my eyes are laughing just thinking about it. The girl can not mix prints to save her life. Mondo, she is not. Anyone with half a brain could determine that, hey maybe these prints don't compliment each other. So we got this mess. What else is there to say? The outfit speaks for itself. I'm just surprised Issac did grab a matchbook and set this trash on fire the second it stepped out on the runway.

Real Housewives of Orange County: It's My Party

The ball is starting to roll on this season of the Orange County Housewives. Things were a bit clunky last week, but I think now we're settling into a groove that will make for a good season. Most of the episode was dedicated to the rest of Vicky's party which was sadly devoid of the typical drama that accompanies housewife get-togethers. What the party did do was start to put a lot of drama on the boiler. Things are going to heat up as the season continues, so I'm hoping for some huge fights down the road. Now the Power Rankings...

#1 GRETCHEN (Last Week #3)

She kept her cool this week and is benefiting from other people getting on my nerves. It seems like she is gonna have some issues with Heather, which is fine with me because I don't like Heather either. All Gretchen was up to during this episode was getting some topless photos taken for her handbag line. Let me see some more drama and she might be able to stay my top ranked housewife.

#2 VICKY (Last Week #1)

Vicky wasn't up to much either. She had her party where some on the girls were drinking but they weren't "drinking drinking drinking" (her words). Anyway, the party went by without a ton of drama, just mostly some cattiness. Vicky tried to serve some different southern foods but the other girls were very rude about it and I thought it was tacky of them. Later she went on a trip with her boyfriend, Tamara, and Eddie. It looked like everyone was having a great time until Tamara had to ruin it with her jealousy.

#3 ALEXIS (Last Week #5)

She is lucky this week as other girls acted much worse than her. As a matter of fact, she had an oddly enlightening moment where she was the bigger person. When Peggy tried to come confront her over their drama, Alexis simply stated that at 11:00 at night, after a party, after drinking was not the best time to talk. If Peggy wanted to talk she could call her tomorrow for lunch. This was very surprising behavior coming from Alexis. So, kudos to her for being adult about it. I still think Peggy shouldn't be held totally responsible for the situation, but Alexis isn't allowed to be mad at her husband so she has no other choice.

#4 TAMARA (Last Week #2)

She was a damn mess this week. First, if she doesn't want to tell Vicky about her new friendship with Gretchen, then she should stop being so buddy buddy with her. It's going to make it worse in the long run. Second, if she wants to be friends with Gretchen, she shouldn't call her out for having her lips done. It's obvious Gretchen had something done during the off season, but if Tamara wants the friendship to work, she needs to watch what, when, and how she says things. Lastly, she got weirdly jealous when Eddie was kissing Vicky's hand during dinner. They were both drunk and it seemed like harmless fun, but Tamara had to get upset and take Vicky's boyfriend's hand and put it on her breast. This, understandably, made Eddie upset and they spent the entire rest of the episode fighting about it.

#5 HEATHER (Last Week #4)

Mostly she is just boring. Secondly, she is just a bitch. A lot of the comments she made throughout the episode were just unnecessary. She told Gretchen's friend Sarah that she needed to get a ring before it was a real proposal. She call Gretchen "cute". She acted like her husband was so annoying to her. He takes care of you and supports you, maybe laugh at his bad jokes. I just didn't like the attitude she was giving during this episode and I'm not seeing it getting much better from here.

Rate the Runway: Fashion Face-Off

Well this was an interesting episode. This week's challenge was to to create sportswear for a specific season. Since there are four seasons and eight contestants, this meant that two people would be tackling each season. What this pairinf meant was that the better look from reach season would be in the top and the other look automatically in the bottom. The results were, just, wow. I immediately knew exactly who was going to win each pairing just based on their history on the show. Boy was I wrong...way wrong. It was like living in an alternate universe. Mondo 10/10

Now this is the Mondo that I love! This outfit was streets ahead of last week, which is great. I love everything about this look, especially how it was styled. The bag went with it perfectly and also those prints work so well together. I cannot belive he lost the face-off against Kenley, but her outfit was good as well. Even though he lost the face-off, it was obvious he would not be leaving this week.

Kenley 9/10

You know, I really don't like her, but this is the second week in a row she's been one of my favorite looks. Again, it was absolutely predictable from her, but it was cute and fit well. I think her predictability is going to be her downfall, but I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it to the final four at the rate she is going.

Rami 8/10

This look was phenomenal! I thought the draping was fantastic and the colors he chose were a great compliment to one another. There was nothing about this look that was bad to me, but the judges thought the opposite. He lost his face-off against Mila and was subsequently sent home. I don't know what the judges are looking for, but based on the recent eliminations and winning looks, it's not originality that they're after.

Mila 6.5/10

Just like Kenley, this was another predictable outfit from Mila. But her predictable can still produce a decent outfit. I'm so glad she did the outfit in something besides solid black. That really helps her a lot in my eyes. Not much more to say other than I am surprised this beat Rami's design.

Austin 5.5/10

This look was not as bad as it was made out to be. Now, it was by no means a masterpiece, but they acted like it was a sin against humanity. I actually think it looks light and airy, maybe it does look a bit dated, but it's not that bad. This outfit landed him in the bottom two with Rami and he survived the cut. Out of those two, though, I will say Rami made the better outfit.

Kara 5/10

Another simple desgin that skates her by another week. She puts together a passable outfit that is comepletely forgetable and manages to stay another week. She even eeked out a victory over Austin, which I think was only due to the fact that his outfit was so offensive to the judges. Her days are numbered, I do believe.

Jerrell 3/10 This was the winning design...? That blows my mind. This design is horribly simple and doesn't have much personality. Of all the designs on the runway I am very surprised that this was the one that they chose as the best. I am highly disappointed he has outlasted Rami.

Michael 1/10 Another mess of an outfit from Michael. I think that if he doesn't pull something amazing next week, he will be out. He always does this where she swings widly from awesome to horrible. We shall see what next week holds. As for this outfit, just wow. He blatantly stole the design from Jerrell, probably his biggest mistake, and did it poorly. The fabric choice was the killer here. If it hadn't been so blanket looking it might have worked.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: After-School Special

Anyone else think this episode was a little too heavy? I just felt like the whole episode was a drag with very few moments of light-heartedness. I don't watch the Housewives to see big issues being dealt with. If I wanted to watch people talk about alcoholism and abuse, I would watch Intervention! I go to the Housewives for petty drama and bitchiness, simple as that. I guess this was Bravo's way of ending the season on a "positive" note. Alls I gots to say is that next season better bring the heat now that all the real life stuff is squared away. On to the rankings!

Honerable Mention: The Real Househusbands of Beverly Hills

A nice little moment featuring Ken, Mauricio, and Paul. Ken got to clear on some remarks he made throughout the season and have a good laugh at Cedric. Mauricio got to thank his legions of adoring fans and show us a side of himself we had never seen! Muy caliente! Then Paul got about 2 seconds before Taylor hijacked his segment and forced us to stare at her face from all angles.

I just decided to lump these four together since the way this episode was set up really didn't allow much time for any of them to speak. I'm actually fairly certain that neither Camille nor Adrienne even said one word during the entire hour. I recall Lisa making a vague comment of support after Taylor spoke about Russell for what feels like the millionth time. The only one of these four ladies who got to speak a full sentence was Brandi, who offered up an apology for her remark last week to Taylor about her book. Brandi said she just has to fight back when people say things to her and Taylor was quick to retort "You started it!" Brandi barely uttered another word before Taylor shouted again "Well, you started it!" Brandi finally resigned and said sorry and shut her mouth, to which Taylor responded with the most condescendingly fake smile as she offered up her apology as well.

Lumping these two together as well. All of their screen time was basically intertwined like some sort of sick and twisted co-dependent Siamese twins. These two can never stop fighting. Andy got to have his Barbara Walters moment as he interviewed Kim fresh out of rehab. He seemed awkward asking the hard hitting questions instead of asking "Hey gurrrl, what's your favorite curse word?" But, Kim did seem rejuvenated and willing to answer the questions. She owned up to her behavior and admitted that the reason she acted so erratically throughout the season was due to her alcoholism. I'm glad she's sought treatment and is cleaning up her act, but I was barely interested in her storyline when she was drunk, I really think it's going to be a snooze if she's sober. Kyle joined the conversation towards the end of the hour and spent most of the time crying. First she cried about how happy she was that her sister sought treatment, then she cried about how sad she was that they fought all the time, then she cried because the set decorator had thought it was a good idea to put candles in birdcages. It was a regular splash mountain when Kyle joined the party. These two still bumped heads when Andy started asking about their relationship and Kyle's desire to get Kim on the show. I think they have a lot of unresolved issues surrounding the death of their mother and honestly, I feel like their relationship would be better if one of them wasn't on the show. Kim, I'm looking at you.

#7. Dana

What goes through this damn woman's mind? I literally don't know if she knows what's coming out of her mouth sometimes. As we watched the highlights of her bragging about her outrageous spending habits, she laughed along with the other ladies. Then she defended herself saying she is proud that she has money and doesn't care if it's tacky because that's who she is. I say that counts as a win if you can get a Housewife to admit she is tacky. Other than that, she also chose to defend herself for letting Brandi get ganged up on at her party. Her defense was that Brandi had been poking at the Richards all night, so she obviously deserved to have her crutches hidden from her and called a "slut pig". It was a weak defense, but I think Dana is trying to make sure she secures herself a spot on the next season. She's trying to play herself up as delusional, which if Kim leaves then the spot is definitely wide open. I don't really care for her whatsoever, but if she brings some drama, I can probably put up with her.

#8. Taylor

I am just absolutely sick of Taylor. Please get her off this show as soon as possible. Everything about her just irks me and the more she talks about Russell the worse it gets. It bothers me so much that she could stay with a man that would knock out her friend's husband, throw him in the pool, throw her friend in the pool, THROW THE DAMN DOG IN THE POOL, then hold her head underwater until she almost drowns. Why were the police not called? How is there not a police report? This is serious stuff. She said she asked her friends not to press charges, which is whatever, but I still think if someone knocked me out and threw my wife and dog into the pool, I would involve the authorities. Taylor claims she didn't want any charges pressed because she worried about the safety of her and her daughter, but it seems like they were in just as much danger with him around. When your husband hides in the bushes and then attacks you and your friends, maybe it's time to part ways. And I don't know what she went through and maybe it is insensitive of me, but she claims she is saving lives by writing her story. Well, then what about the two seasons of the show that you covered it up? How many lives were lost then that would've been spared if she had spoken up? It all just comes across as hypocritical to me. Also, she stole Paul's moment. Come on! The man gets five seconds of air time during a 3 hour reunion and you had to go and shove your giant duck lips into it? Let the poor guy have his air time!

New Music Monday: Katy Perry "Part of Me"

In this first edition of New Music Monday, I wanted to review Katy's latest single. I have quite a few things that I want to say about it. First and foremost, I don't hate the song, but I do have some problems with it. This song was written and recorded long before her divorce from Russell Brand was announced, so the timing of this release seems funny. Everyone thinks this song was written about Russell, but in reality, it was already made just sitting in the background waiting for the right moment. To me, it seems like she is cashing in on her failed marriage. Aside from that, it is also VERY reminiscent of "The One That Got Away". Everything about it feels very generic, which is par for the course for Katy at this point. Generic music can be enjoyable, but this doesn't do it for me. I would just like Katy to pick an image and stick with it. Switching from Pop/Rock to Bubblegum, now back to Pop/Rock. If she cements her image and style a bit more, I might buy it, but for now, my grade is: C-.

Real Housewives of Orange County RECAP: Slow start in the OC

First, I want to say that I am trying a new approach to these recaps. Instead of trying to recap the entire episode in the order it plays out, I want to recap what each housewife is up to during the episode. This makes it easier to read and easier to follow. For added fun I decided I wanted to start doing what I like to call my "Housewives Power Rankings". Like the title suggests, each week I will rank the housewives in order of how much I like them based on the episode. You are welcome to share your rankings with me in the comments as well! Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled recap...

This episode, I felt, started off the season very slowly and awkwardly. I'm not going to dismiss this season just yet, because I am holding out hope that they are setting us up for some very big drama in the upcoming episodes. It seems from the previews that some stuff definitely goes down, hopefully it all doesn't happen in one episode. Now my Housewives Power Rankings for the premiere!

#1 - VICKY

Gonna start the HBIC in first just to see how things go. She can be counted on for the crazy, as evidenced by previews for the rest of the season. This episode had her mostly being neurotic and uptight. We had a good 10 minutes of her straightening up the house to keep it in perfect selling condition. That was about as much as we saw her until she decided to throw a party at the end of the episode. A great way to keep your house tidy is to invite women over that are known for throwing drinks. Also, her and Don are both still living in the house together that they are selling. CRAZY!

#2 - TAMARA

I guess the biggest thing on the Tamara front would be that she and Gretchen are mending fences. The episode began with them meeting up for lunch which to me felt completely forced. It seemed like neither were really ready to forgive, but Tamara looked a bit more willing than Gretchen. I don't know what the show is setting up for with this though. I am placing my bets on a Tamara VS. Vicky feud, or if the stars align, my dream team of Tamara / Vicky / Gretchen VS. Alexis. I highly doubt that will happen, but a man can dream.

#3 - GRETCHEN

Pretty much equal with Tamara, but I gave Tamara the edge since she gave us the infamous "Is your ass jealous of the shit that comes out of your mouth?" line from last year's reunion. Gretchen really needs to step up her game though to stay in the top three. So far it seems like all she has going for her is rekindling her friendship with Tamara. We got a bit of Slade screen time, and there seems to be tension there, so we'll see where that takes us.

#4 - HEATHER

The new girl on the block. I only started her low because I don't know much about her. I didn't put her last because she hasn't proven herself worse than Alexis, yet, but we still have an entire season. She spent the whole episode talking about how rich she was. If we have learned nothing from Housewives 101, it's that those that brag loudest, fall hardest. Heather might be safe from that, but you never know. Anyway, if you haven't look her up yet, her acting credits include an episode of Married with Children. Yeah, take that in.

#5 - ALEXIS

And finally, the worst person in the OC, Alexis. Again, she continues to blather on with her delusions and making sure to find ways to fit Jesus into every other sentence. Tell me, how do you think Jesus feels about Dr. Booty? I guess it doesn't matter to Alexis, because she spent most of the episode with him. In yet another one of her many "successful" ventures she is now a "beauty" and "health" "correspondent" for Fox "news" in California. I use all of the words in quotations VERY lightly. Her "news" segment was hilariously awkward as she couldn't even manage to properly spin a wheel with pictures of asses on it. This lead to her being picked up by her feet by Dr. Booty and wheel-barrowed around the set. Class act. The best part was the cut away to the newscasters realizing just how pathetic it is to live in a world where Dr. Booty gives the news.

Real Housewives: Brandi brings the drama

I absolutely loved the second part of of the real housewives of Beverly hills reunion. Brandi finally got a chance to have her say on all the things that had happened this season and she did not hold back!

Things got started quickly when they talked about game night. Kyle apologized to Brandi for the way things went down, which was nice of her, but she also refused to admit having any part of hiding Brandi's crutches. You knew they were hidden and didn't say anything! That is accessory sweet heart, look it up. I think Kyle is having a hard time falling from grace. She was America's favorite last year and now the tables have turned on her and she can't handle it.

Things stayed tense after that when the discussion turned to the very odd and forced relationship between Lisa and Taylor. As they did last week the ladies took turns beating up on Lisa, first for letting Giggy drink from the fancy glasses then for saying mean things via Giggy's twitter. All of this fuss over a dog! Only on The Real Housewives. Or Animal Planet. Same thing.

Conversations got heated again when Brandi called Adrienne out for talking about Lisa behind her back. Adrienne basically busted herself out. She was acting paranoid when Brandi said that "all" of the girls talked about Lisa, then said "who does?" forcing Brandi to say it outright.

This led to an interesting revelation that apparently Brandi and Adrienne haven't spoken since the show wrapped. I found it odd because Adrienne was always pushing for Brandi amongst the women so to see them distant is a little bit surprising. I guess that's what being on reality television does to friendships. They proceeded to fight back and forth over different things, such as "he said she said" and neither attended the others party. It all seemed petty, but that is the reason we watch these shows.

Then the moment to end all moments occurred. Brandi casually mentioned that she had said something negative about Taylor to Lisa and Lisa defended Taylor. Andy was quick to ask what the comment was. Braid stated that she had ran into Russell and he said it was Taylor who asked him to send the threatening email to Camille. Brandi also said that Russell said he loved Taylor very much.

Now, this is where things get dicey. I'm pretty sure I believe Taylor about the abuse business, but I mean the whole situation was hazy at best. A lot of details were fuzzy and we were kept out of the loop. So Brandi has every right to question the situation. Taylor publishing the book so soon is in poor taste and it really seems to me that Taylor know this. By choosing to release the book she, as Brandi said is making this the worlds business, so Brandi is entitled to her opinion.

After this was one of the most hilarious moments ever. Taylor thought she as being so smart and asked Brandi if it was true that she slashed her exes tires. Brandi immediately said yes that it was true. Taylor didn't know how to respond to that and gave up. Kyle took the banner and said how scary it was and how horrible that was. Lisa then jumped to Brandi's defense saying slashing tires on a vehicle you own isn't that bad. I can smell a war brewing between these ladies.

The final part of the reunion will be airing next week and I'm looking forward to it. They are throwing Pam, whoops Dana, into the mix and it seems that she will be butting heads with Brandi which is interesting since the had very little interaction throughout the season.

Rate the Runway: Let Me Borrow That Top

This week's Project Runway All-Stars challenged the contestants to design an outfit using the clothes off their backs. Well, actually, the backs of strangers. They each had a budget that could be used to bribe people for their clothes and the reminder used to purchase fabric at Mood as long as the outfit cotainted 50% of the original clothing. Some designers found great pieces, especially Anthony and Mondo who both found bold statement dresses. Others seemed to choose the first thing they saw in hopes they could figure out what to do with it in the workroom. Jerell took an interesting approach in that he made sure to choose the tackiest outfits and things that made no sense together. Back in the workroom, the usual antic ensued with one added factor: Kenley took the reigns on Kara's outfit. She even went so far as to finish the pants for her! This didn't sit well with Michael Costello, cause if he isn't getting help, no one else better be. I absolutely agree with his stance, but I just found it funny that he was the one to mention it. This was the exact behavior that made him hated during his original season.

Mondo took home the win this challenge. I would say he's done better prior to this week, but he is my favorite, so I'm not going to complain. The bottom two was Michael and Anthony. Both were not the worst in my opinion, but that's just Project Runway. Michael continues to defy life by surviving another week despite his unpredictability, therefore sending Anthony home. He took it all in stride, as usual, leaving with the same cheery disposition as he entered the competition with. Jerell lucked out this week with his outfit, but I would say his days are numbered.

Kenley 9/10

I think this turned out the best of the night. It was not radically different from anything she every does, but it was made well and the pops of color were a nice touch. Nothing radical, but in a night of misfires this was a nice safe dress.

Rami 8.5/10

This would have been the best of the night if it hadn't been for the smooth criminal hat. Everything else was completely flawless but that just flew out of nowhere. A sleek modern hair style would've set this outfit off.

Austin 8/10

When this first came down the runway, I couldn't even tell the difference between the original outfit and this. Once I saw the pictures side by side I can see that he did a great job. I wouldn't say it was that radical of a change, but it was well made and a very fashionable look.

Mila 7/10

The best part about this look is that it is ready to wear. That is why I am placing it so high in my rankings. I just wish Mila would PLEASE use some color. Is that asking to much? She is setting herself up for a loss again if she can't learn to use anything besides black and white.

Kara 6.5/10

Another outfit that suffered at the hands of smooth criminal. This outfit isn't mind blowing by any means, but I can see this being worn by people on the streets. Might have also ranked it higher if she had, you know, made the pants herself.

Mondo 5/10

You know, I love Mondo to pieces, but this outfit didn't do it for me. When she opened up the jacket, the bikini underneath made it work much better overall, but I think this was one of his rare mistakes in mixing prints. The denim seems to come out of nowhere and he didn't make enough of a change with the original print dress.

Anthony 5/10

Firstly, I find it hard to believe that this is the outfit to send him home. It is a perfectly passable garment. His fatal mistake would be not using enough of the original pieces he had, but I still think he should have been given a pass. This fit well and had a somewhat elegant vibe.

Michael 3/10

Such is the life of Michael Costello. One week he can have Diane Von Furstenberg praising him, the next he can send a model down the run way in panties. I have no clue how to read him. The best I can say is that when he hits the mark, he hits it extravagantly. When he misses, well, just look to your left to see for yourself.

Jerell 1/10

Wow. Not even in the bottom two? Seriously, Issac was dead on when he brought up Gwen Stefani. This is straight up No Doubt. And I mean old school No Doubt. Just flat out hideous. The fact that this escaped the bottom two is beyond comprehension for me.

All cards on the table, I have not worked my hardest to maintain this site. That is all changing starting today. What I want to express with this post is basically a promise to myself and to anyone reading this. I am making a vow right here, right now, that I will update this site regularly with my take on pop culture. My goal is to have weekly recaps on my favorite scripted and reality television shows. In addition to that, I would also like to do album reviews, feature new music, and introduce artists that haven't made a big name for themselves. Basically, I want to share the things that interest me with everyone out there. I am very passionate about pop culture and I want that to come through on here. I hope anyone out there reading this stays tuned and comes back to see what else I have to offer. Real Housewives of Orange County and Bethenny Ever After are starting back in a few weeks along with Survivor and the Amazing Race, so there will be a lot to talk about!
