After working a twelve hour day, I have to day off. Looks like a day of Christmas shopping for me and my daughter. I hope its not too busy but only three days to shop, its probably crazy. At least the weathers good.

Christmas Traditions

Its about a week away from Christmas.It's snowing here and some snow on ground, so it is starting to feel like Christmas. My, daughter had her last day of school today and she is excited. We have a tradition of getting to open one present on Christmas eve, something I did as a kid. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

One Week on New Job

Well, its been seven days straight. Last four days have been 12-14 hour days. It getting to me be we need to work out kinks and get set up. Should get break soon. Have to go, looks like another twelve hour day.

Starting a New Job

Starting a new job is not only a change for you, but the whole family as well. New schedules, new routines and much more for yourself. Not to mention the changes and how it affects the other members of the family. Having a young daughter, who's in to many things and a wife who works a distance from home makes for some challenges. It will be a balancing act, but i feel it the right move and we will cope and change like we all have to do in life.

I found this great site called SocialSpark. It allows you to connect to other bloggers, make friends and take Opps. Opps, stands for opportunities that can be free, but if you meet the requirements, you could make some money. I started to blog for fun and something to do in my spare time. Finding this site has changed my way I look at blogs. I still enjoy to post to my blog, but now have the chance to earn a few extra dollars. You, can also post opps your self. Soccer Tournament

Enter soccer tournament on Saturday, Mastodon Days. Every team played two games. Great day, the weather was a little warm. Both the U-8's and U-10's played, everyone had fun. The day started with a parade, their was some entertainment and a canteen. We, spent most of the day there. We lost both game, they were close and to really good game. It was great to see so many kids out enjoying the day, as well as, their parents. My, daughter got her first assist and almost her first goal. In all it was a very good day. Only three weeks of s0ccer left, my the year went fast.

Adventure Camp

My, daughters off to Adventure Camp all this week. Days filled with activities in the woods, learning about nature, wildlife and survival tips. She loves this camp and has attended for the last three years. Tonight, they stay in the woods all night and have to build a shelter to sleep in. She should sleep good being out in the fresh air all day. Camp fire and stories before bed time. Then up at 7:00 AM for breakfast and clean up. Another day of adventures and fun before it's over for another day.

Vegetable Garden

We, put in a small vegetable garden. Planted some of the easier one to grow. We, started some seeds a couple of month back and were able to transplant into the garden. I planted some radishes and tomato plants and should have some mixed lettuce to pick soon. My daughter planted some pumpkin seeds and hopes to be able to enter a pumpkin or two in a local contest sponsored by the Co-op. We also have a small strawberry patch. Berries are on the plant so we should be eating some soon, if the slugs don't get them first. It's great to go to the garden and be able to pick and eat what you just grown. Right now we need rain, I'm watering daily but we could use a good rain. Happy growing.

Family Camping Trip

My daughter wants to go on a family camping trip. We, have gone before about seven years a go. We take vacation every year in August, usually we stay in a cabin. We'll have to go price some tents and gear, we have some gear from before. Went on line to check out some camp grounds, found some nice places. Should be fun, my daughters into taking pictures, so I'm looking for places with trails and hopefully wildlife.

Fourth Soccer Game

3 and 1, the players gave it their all tonight. We, had only eight player in the under 10 team I coach. With only two sub, all of the players had to play double shifts. They, never gave up and continue to pressure the other team. I was impressed and so happy for them. They really played as a team and are working together. Everyone was coming back on defense, a big part of being successful as a team. Final score 3 to 2.

Baby Lovebirds

We have two babies, as the eggs just hatched. My daughter checked and she was so excited to find the first baby hatched. The second one hatched late that night. She has four more eggs, so we are hoping that the rest hatch as well. It's interesting to watch as mother cares for them and feeds them. She, is very protective and is doing well for first time. Father is also protective and is taking care of mother very well.

Recently, my daughter had a science fair. She picked to do a worm compost. We research the topic on line and found a great mount of very good information. We, build the compost and added the materials, food and worms. We put the container in a dark place and let them do the work. We, were able to reuse food scrapes and produce a usable product for our garden. we decided to continue to use the worm compost.
