Families in North Texas looking for a vibrant, creative day out will want to add ColorPalooza 2025 to their spring calendar. Held in the heart of Old Town Lewisville, this hands-on art festival is all about encouraging kids and families to create, explore, and enjoy the arts in a fun and approachable way.

From live music and cultural dance performances to interactive art stations and tasty food vendors, ColorPalooza is designed with families in mind. Here’s what parents should know before heading out.

Not Your Average Art Festival

ColorPalooza stands apart from traditional fine arts festivals. Instead of just browsing artwork, attendees—especially kids—are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and dive into hands-on, interactive experiences. Art is meant to be messy, fun, and engaging, and that’s exactly what this festival delivers.

Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a lineup of live music and cultural performances. One of the festival highlights is the closing set from The Grays, performing family favorites and Disney hits from 4 to 5 p.m.

Interactive Art Experiences for the Whole Family

ColorPalooza offers a wide variety of art-centered activities for kids and families:

• DIY Tie-Dye with Kris Tee’s – $5 includes a t-shirt and all materials
• Paint Your Own Cookies – $6 for a sweet and creative experience
• Live Demonstrations and Interactive Art Booths – Many are free, while some may charge a small fee
• Make-and-Take Art Projects – Activities that kids can proudly take home

In addition, guests can visit the Artisan Market, which features local artists and nonprofit organizations offering unique items and information about community programs.

Food and Snacks

Families can expect a variety of food trucks and snack vendors on-site. There’s something for everyone, from sweet treats to savory meals. Since ColorPalooza is not a gated event, guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Glass containers are not allowed in Wayne Ferguson Plaza.

Parking and Accessibility

Free parking is available throughout Old Town Lewisville, including ADA-accessible spaces. Visitors are encouraged to use Waze for the most up-to-date directions and to navigate around street closures.

Closer to the event date, Visit Lewisville will offer a downloadable map and access to an event app that highlights key areas such as vendor booths, stages, restrooms, and more.

Family-Friendly Facilities and Features

ColorPalooza is thoughtfully designed for families with young children:

• Stroller-friendly layout throughout the streets and public spaces
• Public restrooms and diaper-changing stations located inside the Lewisville Grand Theater
• Portable restrooms stationed throughout the festival
• Lost & Found and Family Meeting Spot located at the purple inflatable Info Tent
• On-site safety support provided by the Lewisville Police Department, located directly across from the Info Tent

Weather Information

ColorPalooza is a rain-or-shine event. In the case of severe weather, many activities may be relocated indoors to the Lewisville Grand Theater. Any changes to the event schedule due to weather will be announced no later than Friday, April 25 at noon on the event website.

• Dress kids in clothes that can get messy
• Pack water bottles and sunscreen for outdoor fun
• Establish a family meeting point upon arrival
• Check the event website before attending for the latest schedule and activity updates
