[video] Pimp turned rapper OG Double Dee Assassinated in Atlanta driving Maybach #OGD

2013-04-12T18:39:00.000-07:00

A man died Thursday after being shot in a Maybach on I-20, DeKalb County police said. His name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.He was a music executive and affiliated artistically with Future through his Freebandz recording imprint.

The incident happened in the area of I-20 westbound at Glenwood Avenue around 5:15 p.m.

Witnesses told police that shots were fired from a white SUV, which fled the scene, DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.

According to news reports, OGD was traveling westbound on I-20 when his black Maybach Mercedes vehicle was riddled with bullets (which left several shots to the victim body and head).

An off-duty Atlanta police officer was the first person on the scene, stopping after noticing gunshot damage to a vehicle that was partially in the right lane and on the shoulder of the interstate. Because all the doors to the vehicle were locked, the officer broke a rear window in an attempt to help the victim, she said. The man was transported to a hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died.

The Maybach is “quite an expensive vehicle,” Parish noted. The car, which has a Florida license plate, was damaged from multiple gunshots, and police recovered shell casings along the interstate.

Authorities do not have a motive or suspect, Parish said. The investigation is continuing and police urge anyone with information on the case to come forward. Via ATL Night Spots

Harlem Shake - Miami HEAT Edition HD Miami Heat Harlem Shake NBA Champs Edition Harlem Shake - Miami HEAT Edition | Miami Heat Harlem Shake NBA Champs

The Miami Heat have tackled the viral hit, "Harlem Shake." While most of the versions of the latest dance craze are absolutely horrendous and unbearable, the Heat actually do a pretty incredible job.

It all starts with Chris "Birdman" Andersen flapping his arms as the rest of the team stretches in the locker room. Once the base drops, all hell breaks loose.

LeBron is wearing a cape and crown without a shirt, Bosh is being typical Bosh, and the rest of the roster is sporting goofy costumes.

Freddy E's suicidal lyrics (@freddye)

2013-01-06T16:54:00.002-08:00

written by Freddy E.

LYRICS:

My pen blends the thoughts in my head.
Sadly, these aren't the only sentences facing black men.
They blame bad luck for lack of bucks with their hands outstretched.
They're reaching for change but I only have common sense to lend,
because, knowledge is priceless and being broke is the equivalence of ignorance.
It's far from bliss, it's far from this.
I TELL THEM TO LISTEN BUT THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY ATTENTION.
A nation's generation so caught up in affiliation,
lost with no destinations, empty seats at graduations...
Searching for patience feels like I'm searching for the man,
in the red and white sweater and hat with the blue pants and glasses again...
Damn, there I go getting distracted again.
Bad habits and friends seem to mix like affection and gin,
while bullets seem to be the only shots these niggas can bartend.
And we're back in church and it's not even the weekend.
Everything happens for a reason,
I'm just praying God let's me see another four seasons.
Yeah... and I'm praying for you,
as I ridicule this fabricated truth among the youth
that success is only found on a court or in a booth.
As I sit and view this news of this suicidal genocide
that's got us scared of our own kind.
They got one life lost to white lines and jail time.
What good are the eyes if your mind is blind?
What good is the message if you ignore the signs?
You see... I'm just bringing all the facts in.
My words are like a chemical compound,
I'm just trying to get a reaction.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old James Holmes from Aurora, CO.

Cops say Holmes was wearing a bulletproof vest, riot helmet and a gas mask when he entered the Century 16 Movie Theater through an emergency exit and began randomly firing at movie patrons. Witnesses say he tossed tear gas into the crowd before he started shooting.

After a thorough sweep of the complex, officials determined the building was safe.

Holmes reportedly used 4 guns during the shooting -- a rifle, a shotgun, a handgun and another firearm that's being compared to an AK-47. Cell phone video taken from inside the lobby of the movie theater showed the chaos following the shooting.

One witness tells CNN Holmes did not resist arrest when cops moved in -- "He did not put up a fight."

At this point, police say there is no evidence of a second gunman.

Hundreds of police and FBI agents have already been assigned to the investigation.

A 15-year-old witness told CNN he was able to escape the theater when the gunman stopped firing to reload one of his guns.

Black Author wins The Matrix Copyright Infringement Case

2011-12-09T17:47:00.001-08:00

This little known story has met a just conclusion, as Sophia Stewart, African American author of The Matrix will finally receive her just due from the copyright infringement of her original work!!! A six-year dispute has ended involving Sophia Stewart, the Wachowski Brothers, Joel Silver and Warner Brothers. Stewart’s allegations, involving copyright infringement and racketeering, were received and acknowledged by the Central District of California, Judge Margaret Morrow presiding. Stewart, a New Yorker who has resided in Salt Lake City for the past five years, will recover damages from the films, The Matrix I, II and III, as well as The Terminator and its sequels.

She will soon receive one of the biggest payoffs in the history of Hollywood, as the gross receipts of both films and their sequels total over 2.5 billion dollars. Stewart filed her case in 1999, after viewing the Matrix, which she felt had been based on her manuscript, ‘The Third Eye,’ copyrighted in 1981. In the mid-eighties Stewart had submitted her manuscript to an ad placed by the Wachowski Brothers, requesting new sci-fi works..

According to court documentation, an FBI investigation discovered that more than thirty minutes had been edited from the original film, in an attempt to avoid penalties for copyright infringement. The investigation also stated that ‘credible witnesses employed at Warner Brothers came forward, claiming that the executives and lawyers had full knowledge that the work in question did not belong to the Wachowski Brothers.’ These witnesses claimed to have seen Stewart’s original work and that it had been ‘often used during preparation of the motion pictures..’ The defendants tried, on several occasions, to have Stewart’s case dismissed, without success.

Stewart has confronted skepticism on all sides, much of which comes from Matrix fans, who are strangely loyal to the Wachowski Brothers. One on-line forum, entitled Matrix Explained has an entire section devoted to Stewart. Some who have researched her history and writings are open to her story.

Others are suspicious and mocking. ‘It doesn’t bother me,’ said Stewart in a phone interview last week, ‘I always knew what was true.’Some fans, are unaware of the case or they question its legitimacy, due to the fact that it has received little to no media coverage. Though the case was not made public until October of 2003, Stewart has her own explanation, as quoted at aghettotymz.com :

‘The reason you have not seen any of this in the media is because Warner Brothers parent company is AOL-Time Warner…. this GIANT owns 95 percent of the media… let me give you a clue as to what they own in the media business… New York Times papers/magazines, LA Times papers/magazines, People Magazine, CNN news, Extra, Celebrity Justice, Entertainment Tonight, HBO, New Line Cinema, DreamWorks, Newsweek, Village Roadshow and many, many more! They are not going to report on themselves. They have been suppressing my case for years.’ Fans who have taken Stewart’s allegations seriously, have found eerie mythological parallels, which seem significant in a case that revolves around the highly metaphorical and symbolic Matrix series. Sophia, the Greek goddess of wisdom has been referenced many times in speculation about Stewart. In one book about the Goddess Sophia, it reads, ‘The black goddess is the mistress of web creation spun in her divine matrix.’Although there have been outside implications as to racial injustice (Stewart is African American), she does not feel that this is the case. ’This is all about the Benjamins,’ said Stewart. ‘It’s not about money with me. It’s about justice.’ Read More at It’s About Time BPP
