Como es habitual, lo hizo a través de la revista People. La presentación de Rhys se retardó porque el pequeño nació con problemas auditivos cuyo tratamientos ocuparon y preocuparon, seguramente, a los Mcintyre. Afortunadamente todo está saliendo bien y sus padres pueden costear los gastos de los tratamientos adecuados que se requiere en estos casos.<br /> No fue fácil para ellos enterarse unos días después del nacimiento de Rhys, que el niño no oye, en la entrevista Joe y su mujer cuentan que tuvieron que reacomodar sus ideas para adaptarse a la nueva situación, sobre todo emocionalmente. Al parecer el problema auditivo de Rhys será de por vida y tendrá que asistir a terapias paliativas. <br /> Demás está decir que teniendo ellos una buena posición económica y residiendo en una país del primer mundo, este tipo de situaciones es menos dramática que para aquellos que están desfavorecidos. Es una reflexión que en muchas de nosotras, sus fans, ha surgido.
