High Fructose Corn Syrup HFCS

I was looking at the label of the Lipton Green Tea and saw "Natural Flavors" printed there. So I went one step further and read that it also contained HFCS. I was very surprised. I always thought of Lipton being good for you until I saw that. It bothered me so much thinking about buying this product for my children that I decided to write Lipton about this. Below you can read the short statement that I wrote them.

One of Lipton' selling points is health. Then why does Lipton choose to make their products containing HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP? Yea, your "people" can say what they want about HFCS, but as for myself and mine we are going to stick with non-HFCS products. So until Lipton decides to take out HFCS as one of their ingredients we will no longer be purchasing your products.

High Fructose Corn Syrup is one of the worst ingredients that we can ingest. There are millions of dollars spent just to improve the reputation of HFCS. Do some research on this subject and get educated on its dangers. The only way HFCS is going to go away is if we STOP buying products with HFCS being one of their ingredients.

President Obama has broken new ground here. Nominations to win the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize ended February 1. The President took office only 12 days early on January 20.

Let’s take a look at the President’s first 12 days in office from his publicized schedule to see what he did to deserve a Nobel Peace Prize:

January 20: Went to a parade. Partied.

January 21: Asked bureaucrats to re-write guidelines for information requests. Held an “open house” party at the White House.

January 22: Signed Executive Orders: Executive Branch workers to take ethics pledge; Re-affirmed Army Field Manuel Techniques for Interrogations; Expressed desire to close Gitmo (how’s that working out?);

January 26: Gave speech about jobs and energy. Met with Hillary Clinton. Attended Geithner swearing in ceremony.

January 29: Signed Ledbetter Bill overturning US Supreme Court decision on lawsuits over wages. Party in the State Room. Met with Biden.

While Rep. Joe Wilson’s (R-S.C) outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama’s speech Wednesday night to Congress on health care wasn’t the most diplomatic statement, the president indeed made many claims that cannot withstand scrutiny.

Let’s take a look at just a few:

"Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have. Let me repeat this: nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have."

Several studies report that the proposal will cause millions to lose the coverage they have now. The Urban Institute estimates 47 million, and the Lewin Group as many as 114 million. That’s because Obama’s "public option" or co-ops and related schemes will quickly destroy the private insurance market.

"There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false—the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally."

None of the bills requires people to verify their citizenship or identity before receiving taxpayer-subsidized benefits. Besides, proponents claim that "47 to 50 million Americans are without health insurance." That figure includes up to 11 million illegal aliens.

"Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place."

The National Right to Life Committee has shown explicitly how the bill will lead to federal funds paying for abortions through any government-run health plan. For one thing, the Hyde Amendment, which bars federal funds for abortion, would not apply to the areas where the health funds would be disbursed. "As the Associated Press accurately reported in its August 5, 2009, analysis, ‘A law called the Hyde amendment applies the [abortion] restrictions to Medicaid . . . [But] The health overhaul would create a stream of federal funding not covered by the restrictions.’"

"I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits—either now or in the future. Period."

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that ObamaCare would increase the federal deficit by $239 billion over 10 years and "would probably generate substantial increases in federal budget deficits" thereafter. A study by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation released this week found that after a decade, ObamaCare would increase federal deficits by another $1 trillion.

The Wall Street Journal editorial page, which has had a tutorial nearly every day about what is actually in the 1,013-page House bill and the new Senate "compromise" version offered by Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), summarized the president’s Wednesday night goal:

"Mr. Obama's speech was less about persuading the public than it was a political pep talk to this Beltway constituency. He hopes to buy enough political breathing space with a bump in the polls—however short-lived—to steel their nerves to power ObamaCare into law. The only way to stop it now is with a giant wave of popular opposition."

Senior citizens who went to a meeting sponsored by AARP were left to themselves after the AARP hostess walked out. The seniors were trying to get answers concerning ObamaCare and why AARP would support a government controlled health system that many believe would lead to euthanasia and rationing of health care. Why would AARP, the nation's largest seniors group, supposedly working for the elderly, support an ObamaCare bill? Here is what Dick Morris, former advisor to President Clinton, said: "The interest groups that usually speak up for the elderly, particularly AARP, are in Obama's pocket, hoping to profit from his program by becoming one of its vendors. Just as they backed Bush's prescription drug plan because they anticipated profiting from it, so they are now helping Obama gut the medical care of their constituents."

Like the National Education Association, AARP has been taken over by liberals. With millions of members, AARP is using its clout to push ObamaCare on the elderly, even if it includes euthanasia. AARP supported homosexual marriage by opposing Prop 8 in California.

“President Obama must think the American people are idiots if he thinks the healthcare rationing, restrictions and regulations being debated in Congress will save money and result in better preventative medicine,” says Stuart Barton, president of the Atlanta-based AmericanSeniors.org that represents hundreds of thousands of members nationwide.

“The president told the AARP meeting that opponents are “making people scared.” ”Well, they ought to be scared at current proposals,” Barton said. “The Congressional Budget Office estimates the plan’s cost over 10 years would be $1.2 to $1.8 trillion. That’s absurd in a recession, let alone good times.”

The ASA has three major concerns: 1) a government-run plan would limit patient- doctor choice 2) there would be an employer mandate that would kill jobs and lower wages and 3) the current legislation being debated attacks baby boomer and seniors by cutting $500 billion out of Medicare over the next 10 years.

“On page 425 of the bill, a person must go to counseling every five years to basically learn how to die,” Barton says. “As I read this and hear about no preventative care, it dawned on me that Obama’s plan is to let all these baby boomers die quicker so we don’t have to care for them in old age.”

House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers a liberal Democrat who said “What good is reading a bill if it is a 1,000 pages long?

How many bills are 1000 pages long that they have already voted on and passed that they did not read?

Is this a standard practice of our government? It just blows my mind that, more than not, it seems that our Congress and House of Representatives are passing bills that they DO NOT EVEN READ! How can this be acceptable from any part of our government?

I will tell you why. It is because our govenment has made there priority to get anything passed in order to make the public think that they are doing there job. But in actuality how can they possibly be doing the job that they took a oath to do if they do not even read what they are voting on?

This is a travisty fo America. Our Congress and House get paid well , by the citizens of America, to protect and help the people of the United States of America. I say that a government overhaul is needed worse than any other reform that they could possibly come up with on their own.

We've Figured Him Out

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student. They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator.

The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East, way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.

The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.

Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never will be -- a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either the costs go up or the free society goes away.

These are perilous times. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care. It will be joined by controls on our lives to "protect us" from global warming, itself largely a fraud if believed to be caused by man.

Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms.

There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America.

ObamaCare will force you to pay for abortions

President Obama and socialists in Congress are moving at breakneck
speed to pass a socialized health care plan that will be devastating
to our freedoms, our economy and our families. The huge cost
and loss of freedoms are reasons enough to oppose it.

But now we see that ObamaCare will mandate coverage of
abortions -- requiring you and me to pay for abortions with
our tax dollars!

In effect, abortion advocates are trying to get FOCA (the
notorious Freedom of Choice Act) smuggled through Congress!
And they are calling abortion-mill operators like Planned
Parenthood "essential health care providers." This is outrageous!

A Senate Committee has already flatly rejected an amendment
offered by Sen. Orrin Hatch that would have prohibited taxpayer
funding of abortions in ObamaCare. And the House bill has no
prohibitions whatsoever on taxpayer funding of abortions.

ObamaCare will require you and me to pay for abortions...plus,
millions of businesses will be forced to offer abortion
coverage to their employees even if it violates their
owners' deeply held beliefs!

And what about Christian doctors and nurses? Won't they
be forced to participate in abortion through ObamaCare?

President Obama is trying to hide from these tough questions,
but this is precisely what Candidate Obama pledged to Planned
Parenthood in 2007 -- that he would mandate coverage for
"reproductive services" (i.e. abortion) if elected President.

+ + Tell Congress: "I Reject this Abortion Funding Mandate!"

I am fed up with the Obama-Pelosi-Reid mad dash to socialism --
and the devastating impact it will have on our economy, our
families and the fate of the unborn.

This proposal would mark the single greatest expansion of
abortion since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision! It would make
abortion universally "covered" and funded by taxpayers!

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

WASHINGTON – North Korea is loading a Taepodong rocket on its east coast launch pad in anticipation of the launch of a communications satellite early next month, U.S. officials say. U.S. counterproliferation and intelligence officials have confirmed Japanese news reports of the expected launch between April 4 and 8.

North Korea announced its intention to launch the satellite in February. Regional powers worry the claim is a cover for the launch of a long-range missile capable of reaching Alaska. National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair said earlier this month that all indications suggest North Korea will in fact launch a satellite.

WASHINGTON – In his final acts of clemency, President George W. Bush on Monday granted early prison releases to two former U.S. Border Patrol agents whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer fueled the national debate over illegal immigration.

Bush, responding to heavy pressure from Republican and Democratic lawmakers alike, commuted the prison sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The two guards from El Paso, Texas, each were sentenced to more than 10 years for the shooting, which they tried to cover up. They will be released within two months.

Opposition to their convictions, sentencing and firings has simmered ever since the shooting occurred in 2005.

"After four years of fighting this, it's taken a toll on me and my daughter, and really the whole family," said Joe Loya, Ramos' father-in law, who has received tens of thousands of supportive e-mails and spent much of the past two years traveling the country to speak about the case. "We wouldn't give up. ... I knew sooner or later God would come through — that finally it would happen."

He said his daughter, Monica Ramos, called from New York after learning the news that her husband soon would be released from a federal prison just outside Phoenix.

"She could hardly speak," Loya said.

The border agents' case became a rallying cause for conservatives concerned about border protection. On talk shows, people sympathetic with the agents argued that the men were just doing their jobs, defending the U.S.-Mexico border against criminals.

Bob Baskett, Compean's attorney in Dallas, cited widespread congressional support from the bipartisan congressional delegation from Texas. "I think the president did the right thing," he said. "An awful lot of people did an awful lot of work to get this done."

David Botsford, a lawyer for Ramos in Austin, Texas, said he had been guardedly optimistic that the commutations would be granted because of the support from Congress and the thousands of people who had sent letters of concern. The president has shown "he's a compassionate man," Botsford said.

Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, who called the agents' convictions a "grotesque injustice," said he and other lawmakers initially had hoped to have the agents pardoned. "When it became evident there was resistance at the White House to a pardon, that's when we shifted gears to ask for a commutation," he said.

Culberson helped gather signatures from 31 of the 34 current members of the Texas congressional delegation and two former delegation members for a letter asking Bush for the commutations. Culberson hand-delivered the letter to the White House last week.

"I was beginning to really be concerned that with literally only hours left in the president's term, this might not happen," he said. "With this one decision, President Bush has done more to improve his popularity than any single thing he could do."

Compean and Ramos were convicted of shooting admitted drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila in the buttocks as he fled across the Rio Grande, away from an abandoned van load of marijuana. He remains in a low-security prison in Fort Worth, Texas.

The border agents claimed at their trials that they believed the smuggler was armed and that they shot him in self defense. The prosecutor in the case, a U.S. attorney who was appointed by Bush in 2001, said there was no evidence linking the smuggler to the van of marijuana. The prosecutor also said the border agents didn't report the shooting and tampered with evidence by picking up several spent shell casings.

White House officials said Bush didn't pardon the men for their crimes, but commuted their sentences because he believed they were excessive and that they had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations.

Compean, 32, and Ramos, 39, were sentenced to 12 years and 11 years in prison, respectively. They each have served about two years. Under the terms of Bush's commutation, their prison sentences will expire on March 20, but their three-year terms of supervised release and the fines will remain intact.

During his presidency, Bush has granted a total of 189 pardons and 11 commutations. That's fewer than half as many as Presidents Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan issued during their two-term tenures. Bush technically has until noon on Tuesday when President-elect Barack Obama is sworn into office to exercise his executive pardon authority, but presidential advisers said no more were forthcoming.

In an earlier high-profile official act of forgiveness, Bush saved Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, from serving prison time in the case of the 2003 leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity. Libby was convicted of perjury and obstructing justice. Bush could still grant him a full pardon, although Libby has not applied for one.

Clinton issued a total of 457 pardons or commutations in eight years in office. Bush's father, George H. W. Bush, issued 77 in four years. Reagan issued 406 in eight years, and President Jimmy Carter issued 563 in four years. Since World War II, the largest number of pardons and commutations — 2,031 — came from President Harry Truman, who served 82 days short of eight years.

Obama, McCain, Fox News, And One News Now

This poll should have been worded different. It gives the impression that Fox News is against Obama. And when you get right down to it I think that Fox is starting to play the game, not as bad as the other networks, but still is getting drawn into trying to take up for McCain. He needs more unbiased coverage but it is not the job of Fox to take it to far to the right.

The media needs to stick with the facts and leave the biased comments to the public.

My opinion is that most people that watch Fox News is watching it to get the news reported as it should be. But it is a slippery slop when questions like the ones in this poll are asked like this.

Let me state that the poll I am referring to is at http://www.onenewsnow.com/ not Fox.

A poll like this one on another news organization replacing Obama with McCain would get the same response. The only difference McCain would be where Obama is in this one. And Fox News would be replaced with the other news organization

One other point to make is that this poll is like most of of the other ones taken anywhere. There are only 27083 responses out of a population of 301,139,947 in the U.S. (July 2007 est.)

This is only 9% of the population of the U.S.

So tell me, how could any of these polls, on any station, really give anyone any type of useful information?

I am right and everyone else is stupid in the persons opinion that does polls like this. Take a deep breath. Breath in the nose and out the mouth. Calm down and regroup.
