Well as some of you may have seen inthe last post Myself and my wife city met up with Adrian, a really awesome dude and fellow collector recently at rise against. We have been communicating and sharing war stories and some of the funny things that have and can happen when you meet a band and I got a couple more emails with a new pile of pictures of some of his collection. My jealousy is still prevalent with some of the awesome stuff he has, so hopefully you guys enjoy it as well!

Adrians Collection (Part 1)

While City and I were at Rise Against waiting to meet them we bumped into a pretty cool cat called Adrian. I had met him a couple of years ago at Slayer wanting to get some autographs back then, I remember he was a pretty rad dude, and we both kinda reconised each other and introduced our respective ladies to each other as well.

We got to talking and exchanged email address’s as you do and I got an email from him, liking this site and he sent me a Huge pile of images which Ill Put Up for all of you to enjoy as well!

Yes, He has some Amazing Stuff that I am jealous of!!! Im Looking forward to the next batch of pics that Adrian will send through to me, as he has tole me he has a ridiculous amount of signed Records, Cd’s and Setlists!

Rise Against (part 1)

Sorry its taken me a while to get around to this, the gig was nearly two weeks ago, I have been too busy lately what with work and everything get in the way of a simple thing like a blog update!
My scanner is currently on sick leave, so ill do the setlist in my next batch( I have about 10 things to scan currently)
Anyway, City and I had an amazing time and it is due to one awesome person.

That is Natalie Slater of Bake And Destroy fame http://nataliecakes.wordpress.com/. She is a friend of City’s and used to flat with Tim back in the day before he started Rise Against and also dated Joe. They are all still still mates as can be and when Natalie found out they were coming here she told us, and we got put onto the door list. We gave her our contact details to pass on to them incase they wanted some vegan yum. We never heard anything but after the show we got to catch up with them. We told them we were the crazy kiwi kids who were friends with Natalie and City was wearing one of Natalies Tshirts, so Joe and Tim Spotted us right away and we hung out.

It was really cool, City got her Revalations Per Minute vinyl Signed, and we got Siren Song and Appeal to Reason Cd’s signed as well. We managed to get the setlist while in the venue thanks to their lighting guy being a rad motherfucker.
It was pretty cool meeting them as both City and I have been fans for a while, and due to one thing or another we have never actually seen them live. Yeah I know, no need for a lecture…
It was also cool to meet Zach the guitarist as I was wearing a Good Riddance tshirt and he was really buzzed out as he also plays in Only Crime which features the former GR singer Russ.
So we shared Good Riddance stories which a bit of a laugh, mainly drummer jokes as drummers are kind of an easy target at the best of times.
After we had done our fanboy and fangirl we exchanged emails and that so we could all stay in touch with each other and we ended up delivering them some vegan cupcakes to their hotel the following day!

Rise Against!

Show was two days ago and I’m Nearly back to earth after the excitement. Yes I met the band, so did City, my awesome wife. As this was a band she had wanted to meet for ages I’m getting her to do the write – up for it!\
We did get a setlist, 2 cds signed and a vinyl signed as well as pics with Zach, Tim and Joe,
We also made them vegan cupcakes which was choice as!

Ill pimp this in the next couple of days. And for you guitar nerds out there, the Setlist I have is Tims, and it shows the Guitar changes he has during their 20(!!!) song set.

Raggles 36 Crazyfists Adventure in the UK

Raggles and his good friend Richard who are now both sadly living in the Uk recently went to see 36 Crazyfists play with the mighty Poison The Well and Gwen Stacey.

Being a Fanboy from back in the day He and Rich managed to meet the band and get their drink on. And quite amusingly I have to say!

Raggles has over the years mentioned to me many a time how much he loves the band, so after however many years it is, I’m really happy that not only did he get to see them but hang out with them the lucky motherfucker!!!

Quick Update Time..

Hey Ya’ll, I have been scouring through my signed collection and seeing what I have yet to put up here so I am totally up-to-date on EVERYTHING and I have about 3 cds and some vinyl to collate onto the computer and then I can upload it. I have some Darkest Hour, Underoath, Leonard Cohen, Peaches, Dillinger Escape Plan, Immortal, Misfits and Bullet For My Valentine amongst others. Thanks for bearing with me, I know this isnt as frequent as some of my blogging brethren but I assure you I am doing my best.

One of my dear friends (who wishes to remain nameless) sure Josh I wont tell anyone your name or that you work for the fucking record company you bastard. Was lucky enough to suck a backstage pass out of Nine Inch Nails tour manager. Needless to say I am jealous as NIN are my all time fave band. such is life. I did enjoy the show……

Even though they omitted closer from the setlist. But when I think about it, its a song they have played for each show they have played in the 15 years since it came out so I totally understand them wishing to leave it out. But this is the second and now last time they will come to New Zealand, so it woulda been nice y’know? we are fans the way Americans or Japanese are fans. Surely they can wade through 5 minutes of adulation so our little tiny appetites will be sated? Well, I would have thought so anyways…

The other two pictures uploaded in this update are me (Chris) with two of the lovely boys from Jesus-loving band Underoath. I used to really dig on this band and thought they were really good, but as it sometimes happens they get lost in the shuffle of other bands I love even more. I really wanted to meet these two (Aaron and Spencer) as last time the band made it to NZ they were the two members of the band I missed and therefore had an unfinished signed cd. My patience worked (for once) and they were more than happy to sign it and were super cool dudes. I also got to catch up with Ryan from Poison The Well, a band I love! I met Ryan backstage at Big Day Out 2004 and at the time had no idea who they were, I had a chat to him and the band backstage and he and I got on particularly well as we both have Keith Haring tattoos on our bodies. I met him the day before at the scene kid bar of choice (Deschlers) and he asked me to come on down and catch up the following day. We hung out and had a few ciggies and a catch up chat and exchanged emails so we could actually stay in touch which was awesome and as I was not allowed backstage into the venue he took down a record for me and got all of the band to sign it. (Pics coming soon, Promise!) Unfortunately I was unable to attend the show as I had work that night but cannot complain, after all I did get to see Nine Inch Nails and the mighty Iron Maiden in the same week…

And no, I didn’t manage to meet Iron Maiden, I put in a valliant effort, but was asked to not be in the hotel area by an uppity South African called Dane. Fuck you Dane, I’m a nice guy.

Some Avenged Sevenfold and Chimaira

The Avenged Sevenfold pics are from 2006 and the Chimaira from 2008.

Chris, Raggles and lil Petey went to the hotel they stayed at for the 2006 show in Auckland and were lucky enough to meet the whole band plus the Berry’s (the psuedo famous brothers that tech for the band)
really nice guys and the 2006 show was amazing, pity about the 2008 one where they were all drunk and that, but these things happen…

As for the Chimaira pics, Raggles was lucky enough to land himself a job teching for Just One Fix, a local Auckland metal band who opened for Korn, Chimaira and Biohazard when they played here. Aparently nice guys also, which is always a good thing!
