"I see stupid people...They're everywhere. They walk around like everyone else...They don't even know that they're dumb."

Jesus, it's like I wrote it myself. The only thing that the picture leaves out..the caption. "And I don't know how they've survived so long."

We all know people like this. Unfortunately, I come across them daily. Even by the hour. Just damn stupid people. People who have kids and jobs. People just like you and me except they lack common sense.

Just recently a group of teenage girls walked into my work, upon being incredibly clueless, I got the "um, like, how old do you like have to like be to like work here?"
First, when did it become cool to be an idiot? And where did you learn this from?
Second, take the "likes" out and you may have an actual sentence.
Third and lastly, there will NEVER be a place for you at my work. I suggest you may want to look for something on your local corner. They accept idiocracy there and I hear the monies good too.

So many dumb people in the world, they're always broke but yet have money to go away for the weekend. They feel sorry for themselves, yet they bring their own drama on with dating married men. They don't like their paychecks, but they never miss an opportunity to leave early.

I guess there's always gonna be dumb ass people, at least they give us something to laugh about.

We live in the best country in the world. One where we will take you in..pay you for nothing..and allow you more food alottment money in a month than you could possibly eat. You don't need to work, at least not until we finish paying for you to get a free college education, and afterwards, if you still wanted to be educated and unemployed? Sure! Well, that's ok too. Sit home, collect your check, and relax, cause there's someone out there working so you don't have too.

I grew up in a house where both my parents worked for a living. My father, who has 3 herniated discs in his back, has worked 40+ hours a week at a job that is less than accommodating. My mother, who has a non curable disease that has required many surgeries and half of her intestines to be removed, has worked up until she was no longer able. Having parents like this has taught me that you need to work for everything you get in life. I am proud to say that this is what has shaped my moral and work ethic. As a result, I am successful. I have nice things. And I have all that I have because I have worked for them.

Over the years, I have come across so many people that are on some form of assistance. I'm not a hater. I believe the system is set up to do the right thing, but I feel like its been so abused over the years and nothing is done about it. I don't understand why 20 year olds feel it's ok to have 3 kids all under the age of 4, get welfare and get housing assistance, all the while...not working, but still getting free daycare. When in fact, I have to pay $80+ a day to put 2 kids into daycare all so I can go to work.

I also don't understand the logic in broadcasting the fact that you spent $150 cash at the bar that weekend, as your on your way downtown to file for heap with your 3rd shut off notice. Like Hello? Really? So, you can in fact pay your heat bill, its just not a priority to you. And why should it be?

I really don't understand how people can be so carefree about receiving money for food and in the same sentence tell you all about how they just spent $2500 on a vacation. Im not bitter about having to work for anything, even though that might be how this is coming across. I am thankful at the fact that I am teaching my children to make an honest living. I'm grateful that I'm able to provide nice things for my family because I'm a hard worker. I know as my life goes on, I can take pride in knowing I worked for everything I have and that makes me feel good.

I just wish other people were raised with the morals I was, or at the very least, they'd learn a lesson in being appreciative. Because the next time you go to get your $200 worth of porter house steaks... thank your local cashier...she worked that 12 hour shift so you could enjoy them.

So, its that time of year again people. Happiest time of year so they say. Well, if your anything like me you'd rather be stabbed in the eyeball by a rusty spoon and attacked by a rabid donkey than to beat feet in the retail crowds. Yep...HO HO HO!!

But I got smart this year. Yep, decided I was gonna do allllll my shopping online. Your not gonna see me wasting my gas at $3.89/gallon driving around from strip mall to outlet mall to big box retailer. Nope. Im gonna hop onto my Mac, with my black friday deals..and Im gonna shop with a hot cup of coffee (cold beer) and the sunday paper.

It started off well. Toys R Us had amazing black friday deals. 50% off a lot of really great toys. I knew the sale was starting Thanksgiving night at 9pm. So I candidly added about 30 items to my cart, knowing at 9, they were all gonna be on sale..I'd cash out..I'd be set. Done. With my new found enjoyment, I contemplated a steaming cup of tea (chilled wine).

So here it was, 9pm...I logged onto the site, clicked on proceed to cash out..FAIL. again, .. FAIL. This went on...oh about 4 or 5 more times. Apparently, other mothers had had the same intentions. I decided I was gonna let them fight with the repeatedly crashing website. I wasn't gonna be a part of this nonsense. I would just get up early the next morning..log in and cash out. There would be no problems here. I was smarter than those women!

9am Friday morning, plopped myself in front of the Mac, with my cup of coffee (real coffee, im not a lush). Logged on, clicked on the cart..ya ya..you heard this all before. Go to cash out. ..My 30 items have now become 19 items. It appears those persistent mothers got the goods before they ran out. What did I expect? They did the time, they fought the good fight. Luckily for me, I had items on another site as well...ahh! yes. THEY were still there! yay. To save time, cause Im a working woman, I didn't log in. I signed in as a guest. Same 'ol ..click to proceed to cash out. And...its not going through. Apparently these damn servers are too busy as well! So I click to go back and just save. I don't have the time right now. Except...my carts now empty. Jesus! 3 hours spent shopping online to get 1/3 of my items sold out, websites crashing all over the U.S. and now? I have nothing!

Moral of this story? NEVER sign in as a guest. You don't count when your just a guest and they don't save your items. My fault, guess I should've just hammered the pavement as usual and taken my aggression out on the other holiday shoppers. Ha. Happy Holidays!

I always wanted to have that friend. You know..the one you grew up with, graduated high school with. Shared the memory of being the maid of honor at each others weddings. Had kids together in hopes they'd share your bond. And some day, if we were both lucky enough, we'd sit on our rockers drinking tea (or scotch) and reminisce about our youth.

But as you grow up, you learn people change. Life changes you. Life just changes period. You find those "unbreakable" bonds don't get broken on purpose. They just do.

So, props to Adele for her words of wisdom..which happened to come to me on Saturday night while I was driving with a friend. This friend, whom Ill call Kathryn..mainly because that's her name, has picked me up when I was down. She has gotten out of her car at a stop light to run me back a tissue when my tears were obvious from her rear view mirror, slung me over her shoulder and agreed with me when I swore that the sidewalk was slanted after an all nighter, and above all, has been the voice of reason even when her reasoning was not what I wanted to hear.

Kathryn and I had not spoken for about 6 months prior to Saturday night due to my own inability to believe I was wrong about advice she was trying to give me. After 6 long months of "knowing" I was right..we re-kindled our friendship. Its still a work in progress and at times, awkward and uncomfortable, but I know she's real. She may not have been the one I went to high school with..I wasn't her maid of honor..but she was there when a friend was needed and sometimes those friends are the only ones you need.

During rough patches in your life, you realize the people who have always been a part in your story, the role that they will play, and the people who were on the sidelines waiting for their turn. So, when someone walks out of your life...let them go. You are never tied to anyone who leaves you. It just means their part in your story is done.

"You can get just so much from a good thing

Im a product of the generation Brat Pack. Its true..my father still cringes every time TBS airs the Breakfast Club. High School was the best time of my life. I think with all life throws at you, there should be more solstice to remembering days when you could stay home if you were really sick, there was no "corrective action" if your work wasn't done, and it was a given you'd be off for holidays and weekends.

We all know the kids..the jocks, princesses, criminals, brains, and outcasts. The problem is, is that as you grow up and get on with your life, the reputation should fade as fast as the graduation cap tassel that hung from your rear view mirror. Safe to say..they don't. The princesses grew into trophy wives. The jocks are still reliving their glory days while they're balding. The brains are the lawyers and doctors and the outcasts and criminals are the only down to earth people you'd actually care to talk to at the school reunions.

Luckily, we have a fabulous way to keep in touch with the "friends" we used to go to high school with. Facebook is a great tool to network and see what your old school mates have been up too. Its also the only site where everyones relationships are perfect, friends are always the best, and everyones kids are scholars.

It amazes me what people will put out there. I haven't seen or spoken to you in 12 years, but you WILL give me play by play updates on how your breastfeeding is going. Or, congratulations on your pregnancy, however, Im not at all interested in the fact that your constipated.

The has been jocks think its a popularity contest. We know you don't really have 856 friends and its sad that you will be on FB Chat well into the night as opposed to actual conversation with a human.
And as for the photos, I highly doubt you were uncandidly caught on the railroad tracks just as your bra malfunctioned. Pretty astounding that this is how people wish to be remembered. Especially when we will pass each other in the grocery store and not stop to say hello.

Sometimes it makes me wanna write.."you peaked in high school" on some peoples walls.
Did you ever notice that apples always look good on the outside? Their leaves are always green, the body is always crimson and crisp looking. Kind of deceiving.

Just the other day, I bit into an apple. Upon reviewing where I had bitten, the apple had a pinkish remnant to it. My first thought was that my gums were bleeding. Wrong. The apple had in fact been dyed to look more ripe than it was. Hello? Who dyes apples?
Well, the grocery stores do. They want it to look better. I think people are just like dyed apples.

The last year of my life has been the most interesting ever. It took me 30 years to realize there are not a ton of good people in the world. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter or scorned, I just came to the conclusion that there are a lot of selfish people. They have their best interest in mind over the people's that they claim to care about.

A good friend told me I should write a book, we had a good laugh. Would it include all the shady pick up lines, the tribulations of motherhood, the $130 oil change I so desperately needed? Yes. This just seems easier, and if I had known about blogging 14 months ago, I might have not needed to keep my friends up all night over Michelob lights, repetitive conversations and 1 am phone calls.
I know I'm not the only one with drama, but I'm brave enough to anonymously share it with others, and after a hard day of, well, life..I can share it here.
