From distances that take light billions of years to cross to cosmic phenomena that seem to defy logic, the universe is full of facts that are almost impossible to grasp. These mind-blowing space facts will stretch your imagination and might even shift your perspective. If your brain needs a moment to process it all, you are not alone.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/44836357/21-mind-blowing-space-facts-that-put-everything-into-perspective" /><a10:updated>2026-03-28T08:30:00-07:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>Bar Mor Hazut</a10:name></a10:author>

A Magical Chest Filled With 26 Harry Potter Memes to Take With You on the Hogwarts Express

Happy New Year, Potterheads, and welcome to 2026!

In honor of the new year, here is a Harry Potter fact that you may not have known, which is highly relevant to 2026: Did you know that Voldemort, or Tom Riddle, was born on December 31, 1926?

If you do the super easy math, you will realize that dear Voldemort's birthday was just a few days ago, and that he would have turned 99. So if you think about it, if Voldemort weren't so obsessed with living forever, and didn't create the seven Horcruxes, 2026 would have been the year that the Dark Lord would have turned 100. And we're sure that if he had, he wouldn't have looked a day over 80.

Instead, Voldemort went on a dark path to try and become the most powerful wizard in the world, and ended up living only until the age of 71. Dumbledore, on the other hand, lived until he was 115 (or 116, it was debatable), which meant that he beat Voldemort in the old-age competition. In 2026, Harry Potter and his best friends will all turn 46, and we are sure they are all living their best middle-aged lives. Their kids are probably having the time of their lives in Hogwarts, while Harry, Ron, and Hermione are all working in the Ministry of Magic and providing for their families.

2026 also brings us one year closer to 2027, which is the year the new Harry Potter series on HBO is supposed to grace our screens. We couldn't be more thrilled to get a brand new Harry Potter series, and we're excited to see how the show will compare to the books and the beloved films.

What are your expectations for the new year? Do you have New Year's resolutions, and do they include the magical series in any way, shape, or form?

While you consider your answers, scroll down to enjoy this week's collection of Harry Potter memes that are sure to bring some enchanting vibes to your new year. After that, maybe go for a visit to Hogsmeade to toast to 2026!

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43856389/a-magical-chest-filled-with-26-harry-potter-memes-to-take-with-you-on-the-hogwarts-express" /><a10:updated>2026-01-02T07:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

24 Random Things From Your Childhood That Everyone Seems To Remember

There's something weirdly comforting about discovering that the tiny, random things you thought were unique to your childhood were actually part of some secret global starter pack. We all had different families, different towns, different levels of parental supervision, but somehow we all ended up with the same sparkly cups, the same handwriting paper with the blue and red lines, the same plastic cupcake candle holders that lived in the "birthday box," and the same squeaky pull-along dog that absolutely did try to run away from you on hardwood floors.

It's like childhood came as a kit. You didn't order it, you didn't assemble it, yet boom, you wake up 30 years later and go, "Wait. Did EVERYBODY have these?" And the answer is yes. Yes we did.

let's go on a little memory scavenger hunt through the random objects that quietly shaped our young lives. The toys that weren't cool but somehow iconic. The household items that lived in every aunt's cupboard. The odd little plastic bits you forgot existed until this exact moment. Welcome to the nostalgia multiverse.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43743493/24-random-things-from-your-childhood-that-everyone-seems-to-remember" /><a10:updated>2025-12-21T20:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

LEGO Things: The Best Stranger Things Moments Rebuilt Brick by Brick

If you've ever watched Stranger Things and thought, "This would somehow be even better in LEGO," congratulations, you are absolutely correct.

These incredible recreations come from Brick Panda on Instagram, and they take some of the most iconic, terrifying, and emotionally charged moments from Stranger Things and rebuild them one stud at a time. And yes, they manage to be cute, dramatic, and slightly unsettling all at once, which feels extremely on-brand for the Upside Down.

What makes these LEGO scenes work so well is the balance. They do not just recreate the characters, they capture the moments. Vans flying through the air, kids running from impossible horrors, Hawkins chaos frozen mid-panic. The scale, lighting, and composition are doing a lot of heavy lifting here, proving that LEGO photography is basically its own cinematic art form now.

There is also something deeply comforting about seeing a show that thrives on dread, monsters, and existential childhood trauma translated into plastic bricks. Suddenly the Demogorgon feels slightly less terrifying. Slightly.

These builds are a love letter to the show, to LEGO, and to the idea that fandom does not have to be loud or flashy to be impressive. Sometimes all you need is creativity, patience, and a terrifying monster made of ABS plastic.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43741957/lego-things-the-best-stranger-things-moments-rebuilt-brick-by-brick" /><a10:updated>2025-12-21T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

34 Pictures of the Biggest 80s Hairdos Humanity Ever Attempted

There was a time when hair was not just hair. It was a statement. A lifestyle. A structural engineering challenge. The 1980s did not believe in subtlety, restraint, or gravity, and absolutely none of that applied to hairstyles.

This was the golden age of volume. Hair was teased, sprayed, crimped, curled, layered, and lifted to heights that probably violated local airspace regulations. Bangs were sculpted into architectural forms. Mullets reached philosophical levels of business in the front and party in the back. Aquanet was less a product and more a survival tool.

These hairstyles weren't trying to look natural. They were trying to be seen from across the mall, through a fog machine, under neon lights, while power ballads played at unsafe volumes. Whether it was pop stars, soap opera icons, high school yearbook legends, or people who just wanted to feel something, the message was clear: bigger hair meant bigger confidence.

These photos are a celebration of excess, bravery, and follicles that gave everything they had. We may laugh now, but deep down, we kind of miss the chaos.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43741445/34-pictures-of-the-biggest-80s-hairdos-humanity-ever-attempted" /><a10:updated>2025-12-21T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Come to the Dark Side - We Have Star Wars Memes

Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming about what I'd be doing if I lived in that galaxy far, far away. I'd love to say I'd be a Jedi, calm and powerful, slicing through injustice with a lightsaber and a perfectly timed one-liner. Maybe a roguish smuggler, kicking back in the cantina after outrunning Imperial entanglements. But if I'm being honest? I'd probably be that tired local on Tatooine just trying to sell spare droid parts out of a rusted-out stall, constantly brushing sand out of my eyes and arguing with Jawas over pricing.

Because let's face it - not everyone gets to be the Chosen One. Some of us are just trying to make rent in Mos Espa.

Whether you see yourself as a noble Jedi, a disgruntled stormtrooper, or that poor soul who has to clean up after the Rancor, these 32 Star Wars memes are here for you. They celebrate the drama, the action, and the everyday chaos of life under two suns. No contest. These are the folks who consistently create the smartest, funniest, and most original memes, all while staying true to the heart and humor of Middle-earth. Whenever I'm on the hunt for fresh memes, I know I can always count on this community to deliver the goods - and they never miss.

What sets the LOTR meme community apart? For me, it's the overwhelming positivity. While some other fandoms (cough Star Wars cough) are infamous for their mean-spirited, divisive humor, LOTR memes are always inclusive, lighthearted, and just plain delightful. There's no gatekeeping, no toxic "fan wars" - just fans lovingly poking fun at the world Tolkien created. It feels like the meme equivalent of a hobbit's warm welcome at the Green Dragon Inn.

These 33 memes are a testament to that creativity and joy. From Gandalf's wisdom (and questionable fireworks safety) to Boromir's endlessly quotable moments, these memes are bound to make any fan laugh like they've just seen Pippin trying to cook second breakfast. Not replaced artists. Not auto-generated the game. Not spammed a prompt and shipped whatever came out. Just… used AI tools.

And suddenly that's enough to treat the entire project like it's contaminated.

I'm sorry, but this is absurd.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/36916231/clair-obscur-just-got-its-game-game-of-the-year-award-stripped-and-i-blame-you" /><a10:updated>2025-12-21T10:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

22 Wonderful Shots of Steven Spielberg and E.T., Who Is Obviously a Real Alien and Definitely Not a Puppet

There are movie monsters, movie heroes, and then there's E.T. A creature so gentle, so strange, and so emotionally devastating that an entire generation still gets misty-eyed just thinking about a glowing finger and a bicycle in the sky.

Looking at behind-the-scenes photos of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Steven Spielberg feels less like peeking behind the curtain and more like stumbling into someone's childhood diary. This wasn't just another blockbuster for Spielberg. It was personal. Deeply so. E.T. wasn't designed to be scary or sleek or cool. He was designed to feel old, kind, and a little broken. Like someone who understands loneliness because he lives in it.

What's especially wild is how physical this movie was. No pixels. No motion capture. Just puppetry, patience, and a director who treated the alien like a real actor on set. Spielberg famously shot scenes in order so the kids could genuinely bond with E.T., and it shows. You can feel it in every glance, every whispered goodbye, every quiet moment where the camera just lingers.

These photos capture something rare. A filmmaker at the height of his powers, gently guiding a story that's smaller, sadder, and more human than its sci-fi label suggests. It's not about aliens. It's about missing people. And somehow, that makes E.T. eternal.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43729925/22-wonderful-shots-of-steven-spielberg-and-et-who-is-obviously-a-real-alien-and-definitely-not-a" /><a10:updated>2025-12-20T20:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Scammers Are Using AI Images to Fake Refunds, and This Is Exactly the Future We Were Warned About

Via Aramyan

Here's one of those stories that will shock absolutely no one.

According to a new report, scammers in China are now using AI-generated images to successfully claim refunds for products they never actually owned in the first place. Fake photos of broken items. Fake packaging damage. Fake "proof" that looks real enough to pass automated checks and tired human reviewers.

Because of course they are.

This is the inevitable next step of automation colliding with trust-based systems. Refund processes were designed for a world where photos were hard to fake and effort was a natural filter. AI quietly removed that friction. Now anyone with access to freely available tools can generate convincing evidence in seconds, no damage, no missing parts, no product at all.

The scary part isn't that scammers figured this out. It's that the system was always vulnerable, it just took better tools to expose it. Companies optimized for speed and customer satisfaction, and now those same optimizations are being exploited at scale.

What happens next is predictable. More aggressive verification. More hoops. Fewer instant refunds. Legit customers paying the inconvenience tax because trust has become computationally expensive.

This is all part of the new reality we live in now - one where photographs and videos are no longer proof of anything.

What is evidence anymore? I have no idea.

We didn't lose trust because people changed.
We lost it because evidence did.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589548032/scammers-are-using-ai-images-to-fake-refunds-and-this-is-exactly-the-future-we-were-warned-about" /><a10:updated>2025-12-20T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

James Bond Movies Are Headed to Netflix Thanks to an Unexpected Amazon Licensing Deal

Via Prime Video

Here's a twist nobody really saw coming in the streaming wars: several iconic James Bond films are set to begin streaming on Netflix in early 2026 thanks to a surprise licensing agreement between Amazon MGM Studios (the current rights holder) and Netflix.

Starting January 15, 2026, Netflix subscribers in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and multiple international regions will be able to watch several classic Bond movies, including Die Another Day, Skyfall, No Time to Die, and Quantum of Solace. The titles will be available for a limited three-month window before they rotate off the service.

This kind of deal feels almost wild when you stop to think about it because Amazon owns MGM and therefore the Bond catalogue, but the licensing pact is strategic. Instead of holding the films exclusively on Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios has chosen to broaden their audience by letting them stream on Netflix for a limited time.

Beyond Bond, Netflix will also add other Amazon-owned titles like Rocky, Creed, and Legally Blonde under the same agreement.

This move underscores a subtle shift in how major studios are thinking about content distribution. Sometimes licensing big titles to another platform makes more financial sense than trying to keep everything behind one single subscription paywall.

For fans who may have missed a Bond film or just want to revisit them in one place, this is a rare opportunity to (briefly) stream these classics without juggling multiple subscriptions. And yes, it's a neat treat ahead of whatever Bond 26 ends up being.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589548544/james-bond-movies-are-headed-to-netflix-thanks-to-an-unexpected-amazon-licensing-deal" /><a10:updated>2025-12-20T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

We’re Taking the Power Back: This Tiny Music Player Is a Reminder That Your Music Used to Be Yours

Via FiiO

There was a time when music belonged to you.

You bought an album. You owned it. You ripped it, burned it, taped it, copied it, organized it, dragged it onto a device and carried it around like treasure. Your music collection wasn't an algorithm, it was a reflection of who you were. Every track choice was intentional. Every playlist had a personality.

Then streaming happened. And quietly, we all agreed to owning nothing.

Today, if you want to hear a song, you politely ask Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Music for permission. You get ads. You get songs pulled without warning. You get albums replaced with remasters you didn't ask for. You get access, not ownership, and only under someone else's rules.

Which is why the FiiO SnowSky DISC feels like a small act of rebellion.

This is a brand-new, ultra-compact digital music player from FiiO, and it looks like a modern iPod Nano that decided to fight back against subscriptions. It doesn't stream. It doesn't nag you to log in. It plays the music you already own.

The SnowSky DISC uses microSD storage, supporting cards up to 2TB, which means you can carry thousands of albums in your pocket. Lossless files, hi-res audio, entire discographies, all offline. No signal required. No ads. No "this track is no longer available in your region."

It has a 2-inch color screen, physical buttons, USB-C charging, Bluetooth support for wireless headphones, and a battery that can handle long listening sessions without begging for a charger.

And here's the part that really matters.
The price is expected to land around $80, which is kind of wild for what it offers.

This isn't about rejecting streaming completely. Streaming is convenient, and it has its place. But convenience came with a cost, ownership. The SnowSky DISC is a reminder that you can still choose to own your music, curate it yourself, and listen to whatever you want, wherever you want, as many times as you want.

Fill up a massive microSD card, press play, and take the power back.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589548288/were-taking-the-power-back-this-tiny-music-player-is-a-reminder-that-your-music-used-to-be-yours" /><a10:updated>2025-12-20T14:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

DC Might Have Just Cast the Scariest Brainiac We’ve Ever Seen

Via James Gunn

Alright, let's talk about this because it is actually a very big deal, and also a very James Gunn move.

James Gunn has officially cast Lars Eidinger as Brainiac in the new DC Universe, and I genuinely could not think of a more unsettling, inspired choice if I tried.

If you don't immediately recognize Eidinger's name, that's kind of the point. He's not a blockbuster face. He's not a superhero guy. He's a prestige European actor with a stare that suggests he already knows how you die and finds it… mildly interesting. This is the man who specializes in cold, cerebral, deeply uncomfortable performances. Which makes him perfect for Brainiac.

And I mean perfect.

Brainiac isn't a punchy villain. He's not loud. He's not emotional. He's not here to trade quips. He's a calculating, ancient, hyper-intelligent force that collects civilizations like files on a hard drive. Casting someone who feels more like a concept than a personality is exactly the right call.

This also tells us something important about what James Gunn is doing with the DCU. He's not just rebuilding superheroes. He's rebuilding tone. This isn't stunt casting. This isn't "hey remember this actor?" nostalgia bait. This is Gunn saying, very clearly, that his DC villains are going to be strange, scary, and intellectually intimidating again.

And honestly, after years of muddy CGI blobs and villains whose motivation could be summarized as "angry," this feels refreshing.

Brainiac should make you uncomfortable. He should feel inevitable. He should feel like the kind of villain who doesn't raise his voice because he doesn't need to.

If this is the direction the DCU is heading in, I am very much paying attention now.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589581824/dc-might-have-just-cast-the-scariest-brainiac-weve-ever-seen" /><a10:updated>2025-12-20T12:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>Isabella Penn</a10:name></a10:author>

21 Holiday-Themed Office Memes to Make Your Workday More Merry

We are currently deep in the trenches of the corporate holiday season, a time defined by forced cheer, aggressive floral arrangements, and the quiet desperation of trying to finish a project while your brain is 90% mush. If you feel like your workplace has devolved into a series of awkward social interactions and questionable management decisions, you aren't alone. In fact, there is one specific group of people from Scranton, Pennsylvania, who have already mapped out every possible way a workplace holiday can go off the rails.

Whether you're dealing with a boss who has Main Character Energy or a coworker who takes the Secret Santa rules far too seriously, there is something comforting about knowing that no matter how bad your office party gets, at least nobody is accidentally setting their hair on fire or fighting over an iPod.

We have all had a Michael Scott moment where our enthusiasm for a holiday tradition was met with blank stares, or a Jim Halpert moment where we spent an entire afternoon pranking a colleague just to feel something other than boredom. The show captures that specific end-of-year atmospheric pressure—the strange mix of high-stakes drama over a party planning committee and the low-stakes reality that none of us are actually doing any real work until January 2nd.

My current work vibe is heavily leaning toward Stanley Hudson on Pretzel Day, except instead of a pretzel, I'm just holding out for the moment I can legally set my Slack status to "away" and not look back. I've reached the point in the season where my professional contribution is mostly just nodding during Zoom calls while mentally debating if I have enough wrapping paper left at home.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43722501/21-holiday-themed-office-memes-to-make-your-workday-more-merry" /><a10:updated>2025-12-20T10:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

20 of the Coolest Gaming Photos on the Internet, No Extra Lives Required

You might be cool. You might even be very cool. But chances are, you will never be as cool as the kid in Japan who got the very first glimpse of a Nintendo GameCube. Or the U.S. soldiers casually gaming inside Saddam Hussein's palace like it was just another weekend LAN party. Some photos exist purely to humble us.

Gaming has always been more than pixels on a screen. It's been a cultural moment, a bonding ritual, and sometimes a surreal collision with real-world history. These photos capture those moments perfectly. Arcade kids leaning into cabinets like it's a competitive sport. Early console launches that felt like witnessing the future. Gamers playing in places where gaming absolutely should not have been happening, yet somehow was.

Pulled from corners of the internet like Historical Capsule and Old School Cool, this collection is a reminder that gaming history isn't just about hardware generations or sales numbers. It's about people. The expressions. The context. The absolute confidence of someone holding a controller like they already know they're part of something important.

These are the kinds of images that make you stop scrolling for a second and think, yeah… this hobby has always been cool. Sometimes accidentally. Sometimes effortlessly. Always memorably.

Scroll on, and enjoy some of the most legendary gaming moments ever caught on camera.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43727621/20-of-the-coolest-gaming-photos-on-the-internet-no-extra-lives-required" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T20:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

30 Photos of South Korea’s 1990s Street Fashion Scene That Still Feels Effortlessly Cool

I'm just going to say it. South Koreans are some of the coolest people on the planet, and I don't think they fully realize it. Which somehow makes them even cooler.

Long before K-pop dominated charts and Korean cinema took over global awards seasons, the streets of South Korea in the 1990s were already doing something special. This was fashion that didn't feel like it was trying to impress anyone. Oversized jackets, perfectly broken-in denim, bold colors paired with total confidence, and silhouettes that somehow looked casual and intentional at the same time.

These photos capture a moment when global trends were being absorbed, remixed, and quietly elevated. You can see influences from hip-hop, grunge, and sportswear, but filtered through a distinctly Korean sense of style. Nothing feels forced. Nothing feels loud for the sake of attention. It's the energy of the quiet kid in school who everyone agrees is cool while they're just minding their own business.

Looking back now, it's impossible not to see the roots of what would later become a global style powerhouse. The confidence was already there. The taste was already there. The cool just hadn't been exported yet.

These images aren't just fashion nostalgia. They're proof that South Korea has been setting the tone for a long time, whether the rest of the world was paying attention or not.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43727109/30-photos-of-south-koreas-1990s-street-fashion-scene-that-still-feels-effortlessly-cool" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Honda Is Bringing the PlayStation 5 Into the Car… Kind Of

Via Afeela

Honda just announced something that sounds completely unhinged until you think about it for five seconds and realize, oh no, this actually makes perfect sense.

Through its 'Sony Honda Mobility' venture, Honda is integrating PlayStation 5–level gaming into the upcoming AFEELA electric vehicles. No, your car is not literally hiding a PS5 under the hood. This isn't about jamming a console into the glove compartment. It's about bringing PlayStation's gaming ecosystem and real-time rendering tech directly into the car's infotainment system.

In practice, this means passengers will be able to play high-end PlayStation games on the car's massive interior screens while parked or charging, using cloud-based processing powered by Sony's technology. Basically you are getting access to your home PS5 through the magic of cloud gaming. This is waiting-at-a-charging-station tech that actually respects your time.

And honestly? This feels inevitable. Cars are no longer just vehicles. They're screens on wheels. We already stream movies, doomscroll, and attend meetings from them. Gaming was the missing piece, and if anyone was going to bring it in properly, it was Sony.

What makes this interesting is that it's not a gimmick like "here's Snake on a dashboard screen." This is full access to your entire PlayStation library from inside your car. It's less about novelty and more about redefining what "in-car entertainment" actually means in an electric, always-connected future.

Are we all going to be gaming in our cars tomorrow? No.
Is this a glimpse at where the industry is heading? Absolutely probably. But also probably not. Because cloud gaming still sucks.

Still, having more options is always good.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589475584/honda-is-bringing-the-playstation-5-into-the-car-kind-of" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

27 Random Memes from Every Fandom - Because Nerds Stick Together

"Normal people" could learn a thing or two from geeks and nerds - especially when it comes to getting along despite having nothing in common. Take Star Trek fans and Star Wars fans, for example. These are two wildly different fandoms - one is space fantasy, the other is hard sci-fi, one is fast-paced action, the other is deep space politics - and yet, they coexist peacefully. Sure, they throw a few playful jabs at each other, but there's no actual animosity.

Now, compare that to sports fans. Put two rival football clubs (American football or regular football) in the same stadium, and there's a real chance fists will start flying. Star Wars fans, on the other hand, would never fight Trekkies. No, Star Wars fans only fight each other - which is weird, but hey, that's our thing.

At the end of the day, most geeks and nerds stick together, no matter what fandom we belong to. Whether you're into superheroes, anime, sci-fi, fantasy, video games, or something even nerdier, there's always room in the geekdom for everyone. So let's celebrate our weird, wonderful world with 30 random memes from across every fandom.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43724805/27-random-memes-from-every-fandom-because-nerds-stick-together" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T14:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Deadpool Isn’t Even Playable in Marvel Rivals Yet, And He’s Already Breaking the Game

Via NetEase

Deadpool was announced for Marvel Rivals at The Game Awards, and somehow he has already become the most chaotic character on the roster without actually being playable yet. Which feels extremely on brand.

Right now, Deadpool exists in the character select screen as a kind of chaotic ghost. He shows up on the roster but grayed out, something no other unreleased character does. Then his name quietly changed from ALL CAPS DEADPOOL to a very casual "Deadpool," as if he personally edited the UI when no one was looking. After that, he started moving around the roster itself, bouncing between roles like DPS and Tank, confusing players and very intentionally messing with expectations.

None of this affects gameplay yet, but that's the point. This is Marvel Rivals letting Deadpool break the fourth wall before he even enters the match.

There's also a growing theory, and yes this is speculation, that Deadpool might end up being the first character who can fill all three roles. Tank, Damage, and Healer. Maybe as selectable modes. Maybe switching mid match without asking permission. Maybe purely to annoy everyone involved.

Nothing about this has been officially confirmed beyond the role shifting UI chaos, but even that alone is clever. It turns a character announcement into a running joke and a piece of live meta storytelling.

Deadpool isn't just joining Marvel Rivals. He's already messing with it.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589421824/deadpool-isnt-even-playable-in-marvel-rivals-yet-and-hes-already-breaking-the-game" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T12:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

What If Famous Brands Were Pokémon? These 8 Designs Are Weirdly Perfect

Every Pokémon fan has had this thought at least once. If brands existed in the Pokémon universe, what would they look like? Would they evolve? Would Nike be a fighting type? Would Pepsi absolutely be a Voltorb?

Marketing Espresso teamed up with Pokémon GO Raid Italia to answer that exact question, and the results are way better than they had any right to be. This isn't a lazy mashup. These designs actually understand both branding and Pokémon logic, which is why they work so well. Adidas becomes Oddish. Crocs turns into Totodile energy. Converse as Staryu somehow feels obvious in hindsight.

It's only eight designs, but every single one lands. Clean lines, smart visual language, and just enough humor to make you wish this was an official collaboration. These feel less like jokes and more like regional Pokémon you would absolutely catch in a capitalist-themed Pokémon game.

Honestly, this is one of those ideas that makes you mad it hasn't been done a hundred times already. If there isn't a part two, there should be. And if there is, we're ready to argue about typings.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43724293/what-if-famous-brands-were-pokmon-these-8-designs-are-weirdly-perfect" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T10:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

League of Legends Is Getting a Whole New Client, and This Is a Really Big Deal

Via Riot Games

If you've never played League of Legends, or even heard of it, don't worry. You're not alone. And also, this might be one of the wildest disconnects in modern pop culture.

League of Legends is one of the biggest video games ever made. Not "big for gamers." Big, full stop.

We're talking about a game that has been played by hundreds of millions of people worldwide, runs one of the largest esports ecosystems on the planet, fills stadiums, sells out arenas, and casually pulls Super Bowl level viewing numbers for its world championships. Riot Games didn't just make a successful game, they built an entire parallel entertainment universe around it, complete with music groups, animated series, comics, merch, and now, apparently, a massive overhaul codenamed League Next, targeting 2027.

According to reports, Riot is planning a brand new client, fully updated visuals, and even some gameplay evolution. This is not a patch. This is not a seasonal update. This is Riot essentially saying, "We're rebuilding the plane while it's still flying, and there are millions of people on board."

To put this into perspective, League of Legends launched in 2009. That's ancient in game years. Most games from that era are either gone, rebooted, or remembered fondly in YouTube retrospectives. League never left. It just kept growing, refining, and quietly becoming one of the most influential games of the 21st century.

What makes this update especially fascinating is that Riot cannot afford to mess it up. League players are loyal, vocal, deeply invested, and allergic to unnecessary change. You don't casually redesign something that has become a daily ritual for millions of people across the globe.

This is like Basketball announcing that it's changing the size of the Hight of the baskets. It's seemingly a small change - but it is actually HUGE. If Riot is willing to do this, it means they're thinking long-term. Like, another decade long-term.

And if you're someone who loved Arcane but never touched the game, or you've only heard the name in passing, this is your signal. League of Legends isn't "that one PC game people yell about." It's a cultural juggernaut, and it's gearing up for its next era.

Whether you care or not, a lot of the world already does. And in 2027, they're all logging in to something new.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589414144/league-of-legends-is-getting-a-whole-new-client-and-this-is-a-really-big-deal" /><a10:updated>2025-12-19T08:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

23 “Hero-Glyphics” by Josh Lane That Turn Pop Culture Into Ancient Myth

At some point someone had the brilliant thought, what if future archaeologists dug up our pop culture the way we study ancient Egypt? And Josh Lane actually went ahead and made that idea real.

His "Hero-Glyphics" series reimagines modern heroes, villains, and iconic characters as if they were carved into temple walls thousands of years ago. Superheroes become gods. Sci-fi icons turn into sacred symbols. Entire franchises are distilled into dense, symbolic panels that look like they belong on a crumbling pyramid rather than a comic shelf.

What makes these pieces so satisfying is how much thought goes into the visual language. Lane doesn't just slap characters into an ancient style, he translates them. Powers become symbols. Relationships become patterns. Story arcs turn into repeating motifs, just like real hieroglyphs once did. Even if you don't immediately recognize every reference, your brain still reads them as myth.

There's also something quietly humbling about it. Seeing characters we treat as modern entertainment reframed as ancient legends makes you realize how myths are born. Today's superheroes aren't that different from yesterday's gods, they just wear tighter suits and have better merch.

These pieces feel clever without being smug, nostalgic without being lazy, and geeky in the most respectful way possible. They're love letters to fandom, carved in stone, metaphorically speaking.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43712773/23-hero-glyphics-by-josh-lane-that-turn-pop-culture-into-ancient-myth" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T20:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>Bar Mor Hazut</a10:name></a10:author>

A Magical Chest Filled With 24 Harry Potter Memes to Take With You on the Hogwarts Express

Sometimes people think that being a fan of something for 20 years can get super boring, but they don't know how many new and exciting things fans find when they truly love their fandom. There are endless discussions, endless jokes, and endless discoveries one can make.

Here in the Harry Potter fandom, even without considering the new HBO series, Potterheads constantly find new ways to engage with the Harry Potter world. Most of us don't go more than a few months without reading one of the books or watching one of the movies, and every time we do, we find something new we never noticed before.

The fandom discussions are also a great way to keep the Harry Potter world alive. Constant questions and scenarios are presented to people, and who doesn't love to try to find ways to put themselves in the shoes of their favorite characters?

Another thing that never gets old in the Harry Potter fandom is the memes. There is not a week that goes by without us going through the internet to look for new hilarious Harry Potter memes, and we always find them, just like we did with the magical collection below.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43711237/a-magical-chest-filled-with-24-harry-potter-memes-to-take-with-you-on-the-hogwarts-express" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

When Watches Used to Be Fun: 80s Wrist Tech That Didn’t Take Itself Seriously

There was a brief, glorious window in the 1980s when watches weren't trying to be luxury statements, fitness trackers, or subtle status symbols. They were toys. They beeped, blinked, played games, picked up FM radio stations, and occasionally had movie characters slapped right on the face for absolutely no reason. And it ruled.

Back then, strapping something to your wrist didn't mean tracking sleep cycles or closing rings. It meant you might be carrying a tiny video game, a sci-fi fantasy, or a fully licensed Rambo product that existed purely on vibes. Casio led the charge, obviously, turning watches into miniature arcades with pixel characters running, jumping, and occasionally being eaten by cats. Star Wars watches let C-3PO tell you the time. Some models straight-up had antennas. Others came with wired earbuds so you could pretend you were a cyberpunk DJ waiting for the bus.

These watches weren't subtle. They were plastic, loud, and unapologetically joyful. They existed to make kids feel like the future was already here, and that the future was weird, colorful, and kind of ridiculous.

Today's watches are impressive, sleek, and very serious about your heart rate. But sometimes you look at a modern smartwatch and think, sure… but can it play a game about a mouse stealing cheese?

Exactly.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43712261/when-watches-used-to-be-fun-80s-wrist-tech-that-didnt-take-itself-seriously" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

28 Star Trek Puns and Dad Jokes That Boldly Go Where Groans Have Gone Before

There are two universal truths in this galaxy. One, Star Trek fans will debate canon until the heat death of the universe. Two, Star Trek dad jokes are unavoidable, unstoppable, and somehow immortal.

This list is for the jokes that make you sigh, roll your eyes, and then immediately steal them for later use. The kind of puns that feel like they were written by someone wearing a Starfleet uniform, holding a mug that says "World's Best Captain," and absolutely refusing to apologize for any of it.

We're talking warp-speed wordplay. Phaser-level dad energy. Jokes that hit you like a low-budget alien forehead prosthetic. Some are painfully obvious. Some are delightfully nerdy. All of them would make Picard pause, adjust his chair, and continue anyway.

If you've ever laughed at a joke involving Klingons, Tribbles, or the phrase "resistance is futile," you are among friends here. And if you haven't, well… we're still going to tell them.

So set phasers to pun, engage maximum dad mode, and prepare for jokes that are not logical, not necessary, and absolutely inevitable.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43709701/28-star-trek-puns-and-dad-jokes-that-boldly-go-where-groans-have-gone-before" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T14:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Everyone Is Shocked Chris Evans Is Back as Captain America, and I Truly Don’t Understand Why

Via Marvel

Apparently the internet is losing its collective mind over the idea of Chris Evans returning as Captain America in the next big Avengers reset. And I'm sitting here like… why. Why is this surprising to anyone?

So far, everything we've seen and heard about Avengers: Doomsday feels less like a new chapter and more like Marvel standing very close to us, poking us in the ribs, and going "hey. remember this? remember how much you loved this?" It's been chairs with names on them. Legacy characters. Nostalgia bait served with a wink. This is not subtle storytelling, this is a full blown memory lane road trip.

This movie is clearly designed as a greatest hits album. A "look how far we've come" victory lap. A cinematic group hug for a franchise that knows it's been wobbling a bit lately. So the idea that Marvel would bring back the literal face of the MCU, the man whose behind launched a thousand memes, should not be shocking. It's inevitable.

Chris Evans is Captain America for an entire generation. You don't make a nostalgia-driven Avengers reset and somehow leave him out. That would be like rebooting Star Wars and acting surprised Luke Skywalker showed up. Or bringing back the Justice League and pretending Superman is optional.

Also, let's be honest, Marvel knows exactly what it's doing. Familiar faces mean emotional shortcuts. You don't have to explain why people care. You don't have to build the attachment. It's already there. When the franchise is in a recalibration phase, you don't gamble, you lean on what works.

So no, I'm not shocked. I'd be shocked if he didn't come back.

This isn't a bold twist. It's Marvel doing the most Marvel thing possible. And frankly, if you're already bringing everyone else back, you might as well bring back America's Ass too.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589039616/everyone-is-shocked-chris-evans-is-back-as-captain-america-and-i-truly-dont-understand-why" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T12:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>
The Muppets Are Coming Back and Honestly We Need Them Right Now

Via Disney Plus

I don't say this lightly, the world could really use the Muppets again.

Disney just dropped the first teaser for The Muppet Show returning, and the feeling it gave me was immediate and very specific. Warm. Familiar. Soft. Like being wrapped in felt and vaudeville energy at the same time. Kermit's back. Miss Piggy's back. The chaos is back. The gentle, self-aware absurdity that somehow made jokes for kids and adults at the exact same time is finally returning to center stage.

What made The Muppet Show special was never just the characters. It was the tone. The understanding that everything was a performance, that the show knew it was a show, and that sincerity and nonsense could coexist without irony poisoning the whole thing. The Muppets never talked down to their audience. They invited you in, made fun of themselves, and then somehow landed a joke about the human condition using a frog and a pig.

Seeing them return now feels right. In a media landscape obsessed with reboots that forget why things worked in the first place, the Muppets are one of the few franchises that actually thrive on being timeless. Jokes about showbiz, egos, failure, friendship, and trying your best even when everything is on fire are always relevant.

I don't need them to be edgy. I don't need them to be modernized to death. I just need Kermit trying to keep the show together while everything collapses around him. That's evergreen content.

Welcome back, Muppets. The curtain has been closed long enough.

Watch the teaser below:

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/110662913/the-muppets-are-coming-back-and-honestly-we-need-them-right-now" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T10:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Have Fun Disrespecting the Memory of Logan With the New Deadpool Action Figure (Also, Dogpool!)

Via Hasbro

Well, we knew this was probably coming, but we all said "They, wouldn't… would they?"

Well, they did.

This new Marvel Legends Deluxe Deadpool set doesn't just include Deadpool and some standard weapons. No. It includes the adamantium skeleton of Logan as seen in the opening credits of Deadpool and Wolverine. Logan's remains are now a prop you can literally put in Deadpool's hands like a weapon. So yes, you can now disrespect Wolverine's entire legacy in the comfort of your own home, with premium plastic and a smile.

And then, as if to soften the blow and keep your soul from fully leaving your body, the set also includes Dogpool, making his Marvel Legends debut. Dogpool is adorable. Dogpool is innocent. Dogpool did nothing wrong. Dogpool is basically there to make you feel slightly better about the fact that the centerpiece accessory is "Oh look, Logan still has some skin on his face. lol"

Via Hasbro

It's the perfect Deadpool combo. Maximum chaos, maximum bad taste, and then a cute little dog in a costume to make you go "aww" right after you said "WHAT."

As a collectible, it's kind of amazing. The bones are a deep cut, the comedy is brutally on brand, and the whole thing feels like the toy aisle version of Deadpool looking directly into the camera and asking if you're okay, right after doing something objectively unacceptable.

So if you've ever wanted a Deadpool figure that comes with equal parts emotional damage and cute chaos, congrats. This is your moment.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10589016832/have-fun-disrespecting-the-memory-of-logan-with-the-new-deadpool-action-figure-also-dogpool" /><a10:updated>2025-12-18T08:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

26 Photos That Prove “Anyone Can Cook” Doesn’t Actually Mean Anyone

There's a very inspirational quote floating around out there that says "anyone can cook." It sounds nice. It feels encouraging. It is also, based on overwhelming photographic evidence, wildly optimistic.

Because while cooking is technically accessible to everyone, results clearly are not.

This post is a loving tribute to the brave souls who looked at ingredients and thought, "Yes. This will work." These are the people who took creative risks no recipe ever asked for. Pizza popsicles. Hot dogs masquerading as dessert. Cakes that feel… medically concerning. Plates that make you question not just taste, but intent.

Some of these crimes are born from desperation, some from confidence, and some from that dangerous mindset of "I've watched enough cooking shows, I'll figure it out." Spoiler, they did not figure it out.

And listen, this isn't about shaming. We've all been there. We've all overcooked something, undercooked something else, or stared at a plate wondering where our life went wrong. The difference is that these people documented it. For science. And comedy.

So scroll carefully. Laugh freely. And remember, cooking is a skill, not a right.

Anyone can cook.
But not everyone should.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43689989/26-photos-that-prove-anyone-can-cook-doesnt-actually-mean-anyone" /><a10:updated>2025-12-17T20:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

40 Vintage Photos of People Opening Christmas Presents in the 1950s and 1960s

There is something about Christmas photos from the 50s and 60s that hits differently. Maybe it's the genuine shock on kids' faces when they realize Santa actually brought the thing they circled in a catalog. Maybe it's the living rooms, absolutely drowning in tinsel, aluminum trees, and furniture that looks aggressively uncomfortable by modern standards. Or maybe it's the fact that everyone seems weirdly calm and dressed like they're about to attend a formal dinner, even while ripping wrapping paper off boxes.

These photos capture a moment when Christmas gifts felt both simpler and strangely monumental. A single doll could carry an entire morning. A new train set was a life event. Board games, toy kitchens, plastic soldiers, and brand-new bicycles weren't just toys, they were status symbols of a booming post-war world that believed the future was only getting brighter.

For adults, the presents often told their own story. Shiny kitchen appliances promised convenience and progress. Watches, perfume, pipes, and record players hinted at aspiration and identity. Everything felt purposeful, practical, and proudly modern for its time.

Looking at these images now feels like peeking into a parallel timeline. One where Christmas mornings were slower, louder in laughter, quieter in technology, and powered entirely by anticipation instead of batteries and Wi-Fi.

These photos aren't just about presents. They're about a feeling. And it's one we still chase every December.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43693829/40-vintage-photos-of-people-opening-christmas-presents-in-the-1950s-and-1960s" /><a10:updated>2025-12-17T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

25 Visions of the Future From the Past (And None of Them Predicted Your Phone)

There is something deeply comforting about old visions of the future. Not because they were accurate, they absolutely were not, but because they were hopeful in a very specific, very charming way.

Back in the 1930s, 40s, and especially the 1950s, the future was always clean, optimistic, and full of gadgets that looked like friendly appliances. Flying cars were a given. Video phones were massive wall mounted TVs that required you to sit perfectly still. Kitchen robots existed, but they mostly looked like aggressive toasters with arms whose main job was to hand you a martini.

These illustrations and magazine spreads weren't trying to predict reality. They were selling a feeling. A tomorrow where technology made life easier, happier, and somehow more polite. No pop up ads. No low battery anxiety. No updates installing at the worst possible moment.

What makes these visions so fascinating now is how wrong they were in the most delightful ways. We didn't get jetpacks or robot butlers, but we did get supercomputers in our pockets that past artists somehow never imagined would be boring black rectangles.

This list is a time capsule of dreams. A reminder that imagining the future says more about the present than what's actually coming next. And honestly, some of these futures look way more fun than what we ended up with.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43691781/25-visions-of-the-future-from-the-past-and-none-of-them-predicted-your-phone" /><a10:updated>2025-12-17T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

30 Sci Fi Memes To Help You Escape This Timeline

Science fiction is supposed to expand our minds, challenge our perception of reality, and boldly go where no story has gone before. But sometimes it just… makes us laugh so hard we choke on our popcorn. And honestly, that's also an essential service.

From aliens who look like they were adopted by Dana Scully, to mashups nobody asked for (but absolutely needed), to the ongoing war between humanity and its greatest enemy, lower back pain, the sci fi meme multiverse is thriving. It is sports. Full stop. It has skill, pressure, crowds, money, rivalries, heartbreak, heroes, villains, and yes, absolutely unhinged drama.

And if you ever needed proof, let me introduce you to this week's entry in the "you cannot script this" hall of fame.

At a women's esports tournament in Thailand, a well known player was disqualified after being caught cheating live on stage. Not online. Not "allegedly." On stage, in front of officials, cameras, and an audience. And here's the part that elevates this from scandal to performance art.

She still lost.

This is the kind of story that only esports can deliver. In traditional sports, cheating scandals are slow burns. Investigations. Committees. Appeals. In esports, someone plugs something in, gets caught, and is escorted out while Twitch chat loses its collective mind in real time.

People always ask why anyone would watch esports instead of "real" sports. To that I say: Why watch eleven people jog after a ball for ninety minutes when you can watch someone land a 360 no scope in zero gravity, under pressure, with 500,000$ on the line. And if the gameplay somehow isn't enough for you, don't worry. The backstage drama, scandals, and wild human behavior will absolutely deliver.

This story is embarrassing, wild, and yes, damaging. But it's also proof of something important. Esports has stakes now. Enough stakes that people are willing to risk everything, even cheating on stage, just to win.

The world may still be sleeping on esports, but stories like this are very much wide awake.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10588620032/she-cheated-on-stage-still-lost-and-somehow-made-esports-even-more-entertaining" /><a10:updated>2025-12-17T12:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

36 Vintage Homemade Family Photo Christmas Cards That Are Weird, Wonderful, and Full of Heart

Before Canva templates, before glossy photo printers, before everyone decided their Christmas card needed to look like a Netflix poster, families got creative. Really creative.

These vintage homemade Christmas cards are a beautiful reminder of a time when holiday greetings were made with scissors, glue, imagination, and absolutely zero concern for looking "cool." Kids posed with instruments they barely knew how to play. Parents dressed up as snowmen, angels, or whatever costumes were lying around the house. Someone always thought it was a good idea to cut out faces and paste them onto something deeply unhinged. And honestly? Bless them for it.

There's something incredibly charming about these cards. They're awkward, sincere, and completely unfiltered. No filters, no retouching, no branding strategy, just families trying to say "Happy Holidays" in the most personal way possible. Some are sweet, some are unintentionally hilarious, and some feel like accidental art pieces that could hang in a museum of American chaos.

This collection of 36 vintage homemade family Christmas cards is pure nostalgia. It's proof that the best holiday memories don't come from perfection, they come from effort, love, and the confidence to mail something absolutely ridiculous to everyone you know.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43689477/36-vintage-homemade-family-photo-christmas-cards-that-are-weird-wonderful-and-full-of-heart" /><a10:updated>2025-12-17T10:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

OnePlus Is Launching a New “Turbo” Phone Line, And It Feels Like a Nod to What Made the Brand Special

Via OnePlus

If you're reading this and thinking, wait, what even is OnePlus, you're not alone. OnePlus has always lived slightly outside the mainstream phone conversation. It's the brand tech nerds swear by while everyone else argues iPhone vs Samsung for the millionth time.

I say this as someone currently rocking a OnePlus phone and loving it. I've been a fan ever since the OnePlus One, back when the whole pitch was almost punk rock, flagship power, Absolutely no bloatware, and a price that felt suspiciously low. Those phones felt like insider knowledge.

Now OnePlus has officially confirmed a new "Turbo" lineup, and this time they're not being subtle about who it's for. The Turbo range is being positioned squarely as a gaming focused phone line, built around sustained performance, thermal management, and raw speed. Less "look how thin this is" and more "how hard can we push this thing without it melting."

That actually feels very on brand. OnePlus built its reputation on speed and smoothness long before high refresh rate displays and gaming modes became standard buzzwords. The Turbo name suggests high clocks, aggressive performance tuning, and hardware meant to stay fast under pressure, not just benchmark well for five minutes.

Yes, OnePlus phones are no longer the absurdly cheap flagship killers they once were, but they still tend to undercut comparable top tier phones while delivering similar or better performance. A dedicated gaming focused line feels like OnePlus leaning into what it has always done best instead of trying to out-iPhone Apple.

For longtime fans, this feels like OnePlus remembering its roots. For people who care about gaming on mobile, or just want a phone that stays fast no matter what you throw at it, the Turbo line might finally be the reason to pay attention.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10588480768/oneplus-is-launching-a-new-turbo-phone-line-and-it-feels-like-a-nod-to-what-made-the-brand-special" /><a10:updated>2025-12-17T08:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

25 Photos of People Using Technology in the 1980s, Back When It Felt Like the Future

There was a very specific magic to using technology in the 1980s. Everything felt futuristic, slightly dangerous, and just complicated enough to make you feel like a genius for figuring it out. You didn't just turn things on. You used them. You interacted with them. Sometimes you had to hit them gently on the side.

These photos capture people living with the tech of the era in its natural habitat. Families gathered around chunky TVs like it was a sacred ritual. Teenagers blasting boomboxes that weighed roughly the same as a small refrigerator. Kids hunched over a Commodore 64, typing commands they barely understood and feeling like hackers anyway. Walkmans turned the outside world into a personal movie soundtrack, while cordless phones made you feel powerful just for pacing the room while talking.

Nothing was sleek. Nothing was subtle. Wires were everywhere. Buttons clicked loudly. Screens glowed in ways that absolutely were not good for your eyes. And yet, this was the future. Or at least it felt like it at the time.

Looking at these now is a reminder of how quickly technology moves and how deeply it shapes everyday life. These moments weren't about specs or updates. They were about wonder, novelty, and that incredible feeling of being one step closer to tomorrow, even if tomorrow came with static and tangled cables.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43674629/25-photos-of-people-using-technology-in-the-1980s-back-when-it-felt-like-the-future" /><a10:updated>2025-12-16T20:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Your Favorite Game Studios Just Dropped Holiday Cards And They’re Weird, Wholesome, and Perfect

One of my favorite low-key traditions in gaming isn't a trailer, a shadow drop, or a surprise demo. It's this. The end-of-year holiday greeting cards from game studios. Every December, developers quietly remind us that behind the patches, crunch, delays, and patch notes, there are actual humans who love this medium just as much as we do.

PlayStation just shared a massive collection of seasonal greeting cards from studios across the industry, and it's exactly the kind of thing you didn't know you needed until you started scrolling. Some are cozy and sweet. Some are unhinged. Some feel like tiny pieces of concept art from games we already love. A few look like they escaped straight out of a marketing brainstorm that went off the rails in the best possible way.

You've got giant mechs wrapped in Christmas lights. Mascots running through snowy wonderlands. Superheroes wishing you happy holidays like it's the most normal thing in the world. It's playful, sincere, and honestly a little emotional if you've been gaming long enough to recognize the studios behind the art.

This isn't about selling you anything. It's just a collective "thanks for playing with us this year" from the people who made your favorite games. Grab some cocoa, scroll through the full collection on the PlayStation Blog, and enjoy this small, joyful corner of gaming culture before the hype cycle starts all over again in January.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43669765/your-favorite-game-studios-just-dropped-holiday-cards-and-theyre-weird-wholesome-and-perfect" /><a10:updated>2025-12-16T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Hasbro’s Pink “I Love You 3000” Iron Man Figure Is Cute… and Also Kind of Unhinged

Via Hasbro

I fully understand the emotional power of "I love you 3000." I cried. You cried. Half the internet cried. It's one of those MCU lines that bypasses logic and goes straight for the heart reactor. So yes, on paper, a Valentine's Day Iron Man figure built around that moment makes total sense.

But then you actually look at this thing.

Hasbro's new Marvel Legends "I Love You 3000" Iron Man is pink. Not accents of pink. Not tasteful Valentine highlights. Just aggressively, unapologetically pink. Every panel. Every limb. Every thought Tony Stark ever had, now apparently cotton candy flavored.

And that's where I start to wobble.

Via Hasbro

The heart-shaped arc reactor is genuinely clever. The rose accessory is funny in a self-aware way. The packaging letting you write a note is actually kind of charming. There's a good idea in here somewhere. But the execution feels like someone slid the saturation slider all the way to the right and then walked away.

This could have been amazing with contrast. White and pink. Black and pink. Gold and pink. Something that still felt like Iron Man, just romantically compromised. Instead, it looks like Tony fell into a vat of Pepto-Bismol and decided to commit to the bit.

Via Hasbro

That said, I get who this is for. If your relationship is built on Marvel quotes, shared Endgame trauma, and ironic gifts that are half sincere and half joke, this will absolutely land. Hasbro keeps making these because people keep buying them.

Do I want it on my shelf? No.
Do I respect the chaos? Absolutely.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10587937280/hasbros-pink-i-love-you-3000-iron-man-figure-is-cute-and-also-kind-of-unhinged" /><a10:updated>2025-12-16T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Disney Is Making a Gaston Movie and I’m Still Not Convinced He's Even a Villain

Via Disney

Disney just announced a live-action Gaston movie is in the works and I have to sit with this for a second because, yes, I genuinely blinked twice. Gaston? The buff, arrogant, slightly sweaty hunter from Beauty and the Beast? The guy who literally dies because he tried to drag a sentient castle down a mountain like it was a gym challenge? We are giving this man a whole movie?

Look, Gaston is iconic. Everyone knows his theme song. He has more bravado than a herd of teenagers, and he cheerfully invents his own fanclub during musical numbers. And yeah, he was pretty evil in the original - narcissistic, violent, self-serving, and bullying everyone in sight. But is he a villain on the level of Maleficent or Scar or Cruella? In my mind he's more of a misguided meathead than a true villain. Like the kind of guy who would give pep talks in a frat house while missing the entire point of morality.

Which brings me to the bigger trend: why does Hollywood suddenly feel the need to turn every antagonist into a misunderstood antihero with feelings and a "backstory"? I get the appeal of Maleficent - she was wronged, she had depth, the whole movie basically said "complex villain energy." Cruella had style, sure, and her origin story had some genuinely interesting angles. But Gaston? Are we really interested in a whole movie about why the guy carried a turkey leg everywhere?

Are we collectively so anxious about celebrating purely entertaining villainy that we now have to sanitize every antagonist into someone we can root for, hug, and morally justify? Scar needs a redemption arc now? The Wicked Witch in Oz is getting an origin story that turns out she was just misunderstood and loves gardening? What is next - The Misadventures of Lord Farquaad where he was bullied at school for being short?

Look, I understand that we like depth and nuance, and that giving a character a full narrative arc can be interesting. But let's not forget why we love some characters in the first place. Gaston doesn't work because he's misunderstood. He works because he is ridiculous, overconfident, and unapologetically extra in all the funniest ways. There's craft in straight up villainy, in a buff dude convinced that the world revolves around his biceps.

So yes, I'm cautiously curious. I won't say "never." But I'm also not ready to sign a petition demanding we fully justify every single antagonist in every single story. Some villains are fun because they are villains. Gaston was never a sympathetic threat. He was the guy with that absurd song, that ridiculous ego, and the muscular gait of someone who thinks mirrors exist to admire him. That's fine. That's enough.

Let's see what Disney does. But personally? I would have loved a movie about the Enchanted Objects trying to unionize. Same energy. Less biceps.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10587917312/disney-is-making-a-gaston-movie-and-im-still-not-convinced-hes-even-a-villain" /><a10:updated>2025-12-16T14:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Orbitals’ New Trailer Nails a Nostalgic Anime Aesthetic You Didn’t Know You Needed

Okay, this Orbitals trailer just hit and it's doing something really specific and delightful: it's channeling that early 80s/90s Japanese space anime energy that has never quite been captured in a game before. Games

Alright, Harry Potter nerds and open-world RPG junkies, gather round. Epic Games has officially unleashed one of the biggest wizarding adventures in gaming onto the Epic Games Store for free to download and keep forever - but there's a catch. You need to be quick: you have to do it before December 18, 2025.

This is the first time Hogwarts Legacy, the sprawling, spell-slinging RPG set in the wizarding world's 1800s, has ever been offered for free on this platform. Normally it sits at around sixty bucks on PC and other digital storefronts, but right now if you log into the Epic Games Store, find the game's page, and "buy" it (yep, for zero dollars), it becomes permanently yours in your library - no subscriptions, no catches.

This giveaway is part of the Epic 2025 Holiday Sale, which kicked off earlier this month and runs through early January with discounts, rotating free games, and other perks. Hogwarts Legacy is the first heavyweight to drop, and it's exactly the kind of treat fans have been craving during the winter gaming drought.

If you've ever wanted to wander the halls of Hogwarts, master potions, duel dark wizards, or just explore an enormous magical world full of secrets and lore, now is literally the best time to do it. Just don't sleep on it - once the clock strikes midnight on December 18, this particular spell disappears and the next free game will take its place.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10587862272/hogwarts-legacy-is-free-to-claim-on-the-epic-games-store-and-yes-you-can-keep-it-forever" /><a10:updated>2025-12-16T10:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Fallout Season 2 Is Out Today and the Wasteland Does Not Care About Your Plans

Via Prime Video

Well, there goes everyone's productivity. Fallout Season 2 was supposed to land tomorrow, but Amazon clearly looked at the calendar, shrugged, and said "nah, let's ruin today instead." But before you get any wild ideas about bingeing everything at once, here's where it gets interesting: unlike Season 1, which landed all at once, Season 2 will roll out one episode per week. That means the wasteland fun starts tonight, and we'll be living in an irradiated middle-of-the-week mood every Wednesday through February 4, 2026.

The story is turning up the dial on lore and locations familiar to fans of the games by bringing us deeper into the Mojave Wasteland and even New Vegas territory, with new faces joining the chaos alongside Lucy, The Ghoul, and Maximus.

So here's the situation:

Premiere kicks off December 16 earlier than planned.

Eight episodes total.

Weekly Wednesday drops until early February.

Fallout's apocalypse vibes are back and ready to wreck your Wednesdays forever.

We survived the first season and got overleveled in pop culture clout. Now we're about to learn if the wasteland really did get worse or if that was just the intro level.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10587858432/fallout-season-2-is-out-today-and-the-wasteland-does-not-care-about-your-plans" /><a10:updated>2025-12-16T08:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

We Owe “Thor: The Dark World” an Apology

Via Marvel Entertainment

I've been doing another full MCU rewatch, from Iron Man straight through to Endgame. Those clunky beige boxes that hummed and blinked and promised a future that felt straight out of a sci-fi fever dream? If you grew up in the glow of CRT monitors and floppy disks, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Back then, everything felt like a prototype for a world that was just around the corner - hoverboards, Virtual Reality, and robot butlers who could also make toast. Sure, most of that never happened (except VR), but that spirit of possibility was electric. You could practically feel it every time you punched in a BASIC command or tried to get your dot matrix printer to stop screaming.

The best part? Even though we've got smarter gadgets and smaller screens now, there's something undeniably magical about the old stuff. The clunky keyboards. The whirr of a hard drive that sounded like it was trying to launch into orbit. Those giant remotes that doubled as blunt-force trauma weapons. It wasn't sleek, but it sure had soul.

So whether you remember fighting with dial-up just to send an email, or you're just here for the retro vibes, this list is your ticket back to that first digital frontier. Let's take a trip down memory lane—back to the days when every beep and blip felt like a promise that the future was already here.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43653125/30-snapshots-of-nostalgic-tech-that-once-looked-like-the-future" /><a10:updated>2025-12-15T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

31 Wonderful Christmas Covers From The New Yorker That Prove Holiday Vibes Were Immaculate a Century Ago

Before algorithmic feeds, before sponsored cheer, before Christmas turned into a month-long retail endurance test, The New Yorker was quietly delivering some of the most charming holiday imagery ever put to paper.

These Christmas covers from the 1920s and 1930s feel like postcards from a slower, softer world. A world where Santa still clocked in like a regular guy, kids were absolute chaos gremlins, adults looked permanently confused, and Christmas was funny before it was sentimental. There's elegance here, but also humor. A lot of humor. The kind that gently pokes fun at human behavior without screaming for attention.

What makes these covers special isn't just the illustration style, although yes, the hand-drawn artistry is gorgeous. It's the tone. These covers feel observant, warm, and quietly clever. They capture holiday moments we still recognize today, exhaustion, excitement, family madness, just without phones, Wi-Fi, or a sense of existential dread.

Looking at them now feels oddly comforting. Like proof that even a hundred years ago, people were overwhelmed, festive, ridiculous, and deeply human during the holidays. Some things never change. And honestly, that's kind of wonderful.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43652869/31-wonderful-christmas-covers-from-the-new-yorker-that-prove-holiday-vibes-were-immaculate-a-century" /><a10:updated>2025-12-15T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

The 10 Worst Names in Middle Earth (We Still Love You, Tolkien)

Via CAMERA PRESS/Bill Potter

Tolkien was a linguistic wizard. A man who invented entire languages, histories, and mythologies just so his fantasy world would feel real. He gave us names that sound like ancient songs, carved into stone. Aragorn. Galadriel. Elrond. Names that feel legendary.

And then, sometimes, he absolutely did not.

This is a loving roast of the moments where Middle Earth naming conventions quietly fell apart. Not the iconic weird names we've all made peace with, Like Sméagol and Déagol but the ones that still make you pause mid-read and go, "Wait. That's what we're calling this?"

These aren't deal breakers. They're just… baffling. And honestly, that contrast is part of what makes Tolkien so endlessly fascinating.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43650309/the-10-worst-names-in-middle-earth-we-still-love-you-tolkien" /><a10:updated>2025-12-15T14:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Rats Are Playing Doom Now and Honestly It Checks Out

Via Aaron Christophel

We have been engaged in the sacred, eternal ritual known as "Can it run Doom?" for decades. We've forced Doom onto ATMs, pregnancy tests, calculators, VCRs, printing calculators from the 80s, you name it - if it had silicon and a will to live, someone found a way to compile Doom onto it. Doom is the Monty Python of software: indestructible, inexplicable, and laughing while it destroys everything it touches.

But now - oh now - the game has evolved. We've graduated from run to play. And yes. The first contestants aren't robots. They're rats. Actual rodents. With tiny curved AMOLED screens strapped to their faces and a real shoot button. Doom has been, in a sense, rodentified.

Via Viktor Tóth

Researchers at the University of Cambridge are teaching rats to play Doom. Not perfectly. Not gracefully. But they can do the thing. They navigate a simple Doom-like world using a control interface in exchange for a treat. The rats aren't fragging demons at Quake speeds, but give them credit - even getting a creature whose natural instinct is "run away from everything" to engage with a shooter game is a revelation.

This isn't just meme fodder (though the memes are already writing themselves). It's a genuinely fascinating blend of behavioral science, neuroscience, and cumulative "why the hell not" energy that defines human curiosity. We went from "can we run Doom on a toaster?" to "can we teach living creatures to interact with an FPS environment?" That progression is both terrifying and somehow comforting.

So yes, rats can play a version of Doom. Kind of. They aren't speedrunning yet. They aren't camping spawn points. But they are learning to manipulate an avatar in a hostile environment for rewards. Just like us on our jobs.

In the grand chronology of Doom experiments, this does not disappoint. Next up: squirrels? Cockroaches? Your houseplant equipped with tiny VR goggles? Doom is our Rosetta Stone, our philosophical test of whether existence itself can be reduced to 1993 sprite engines.

And the answer keeps coming back: yes. Yes it can.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10587347712/rats-are-playing-doom-now-and-honestly-it-checks-out" /><a10:updated>2025-12-15T12:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

The New Stranger Things Trailer Is Here and It’s Basically Telling Us Everything We Thought We Knew Was Wrong

Via Netflix

Well. And yet, millions of us did exactly that. We named them. We rescued them from getting stuck under couches. We watched them gently bonk into walls like confused little turtles. And through all of that, iRobot quietly did something enormous. We just didn't know it yet.

Now iRobot has declared bankruptcy, and while the company is trying to reassure customers that their Roombas are not about to brick themselves overnight, it still feels like the end of an era. Not a dramatic explosion, not a villain arc. Just a soft, slightly sad powering down.

Roomba mattered. A lot. It was the first mass produced household robot that regular people invited into their homes without thinking twice. Not a toy, not a science fair project, but an actual autonomous machine doing a real job. Clumsily, inefficiently, and sometimes hilariously wrong. But it worked. Enough.

One day, we are going to look back at these weird little disc shaped robots with their random movement patterns and tiny dust bins and laugh. In a future where home robots understand rooms, objects, schedules, and intent, the Roomba will look like a fossil. But fossils are important. They show you where the evolution started.

The problem is not that iRobot failed. It's that the world moved faster than a single purpose robot ever could. AI driven navigation, multi function home assistants, robots that see, reason, and adapt. The Roomba was built for a different moment, one where bumping into things was good enough.

iRobot didn't lose relevance because it was bad. It lost relevance because it was early.

And honestly, that's kind of the best legacy a robot can have.

R.I.P Roomba, I will never forget you.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/10587322112/irobot-declares-bankruptcy-marking-the-end-of-the-first-era-of-home-robots" /><a10:updated>2025-12-15T08:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Relive the Glory Days With These 25 Throwbacks Every 90s Kid Will Love

The 90s weren't just a decade - they were a whole vibe. But here's the big question: are we nostalgic because life really was better back then, or because we were kids with zero responsibilities and all the time in the world to eat Dunkaroos and rewatch The Fresh Prince reruns? Maybe it's both. The clothes were brighter, the music was louder, and Saturday mornings meant cereal and cartoons instead of emails and bills.

Looking at these 25 snapshots from the 90s, it's hard not to feel that rush of pure nostalgia hit you right in the chest. Somewhere along the line, a group of architects looked at a perfectly normal blueprint and thought, "Okay, but what if it bent, melted, twisted, or looked like it was about to walk away?" And honestly, thank you for your service.

This list is a celebration of buildings that refuse to be boring. Houses that look inflatable. Museums that seem mid-collapse. Office buildings that appear to be wearing costumes. These are real places, designed by real humans, built in the real world, and not generated by an AI having a strange dream about geometry. At least… we think.

Some of these structures exist to make a statement. Some exist because an architect had a very specific vision and nobody stopped them. And some just quietly sit there, confusing tourists and Google Maps alike.

In an era where everything is starting to blur together, these buildings remind us that creativity still wins. Concrete can be playful. Steel can be weird. Windows do not need to behave.

If nothing else, this is proof that the world is still full of surprises, and that sometimes the best response to "Should we build this?" is simply "Yes."

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43637765/35-cool-and-interesting-buildings-from-around-the-world-that-look-like-someone-said-why-not" /><a10:updated>2025-12-14T18:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

Stranger Things Memes to Get Us Through the Wait for the Next Part of the Final Season

Netflix really looked at the emotional state of the fandom and said, "Let's split the final season into three parts." And now here we are. Stuck between episodes. Suspended in Hawkins limbo. Waiting for the next chunk of the final chapter like it's a psychic nosebleed we didn't consent to.

We've already watched Part One. We've processed some of it. We've denied the rest. The board is set, the stakes are sky high, and the show has very politely told us to sit tight while it emotionally reloads. So what do we do in the meantime? We meme. Aggressively.

These Stranger Things memes exist for this exact moment. The waiting. The theorizing. The slow realization that some characters are absolutely not making it out alive. Jokes about Vecna. Jokes about Steve Harrington's hair continuing to defy all known laws of physics. Jokes about Eleven carrying the emotional burden of the universe while still being a teenager. And jokes about us aging faster than the characters thanks to these release gaps.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43635205/stranger-things-memes-to-get-us-through-the-wait-for-the-next-part-of-the-final-season" /><a10:updated>2025-12-14T16:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>

<a10:author><a10:name>John Summers</a10:name></a10:author>

26 Star Trek Memes That Boldly Go Where Your Brain Lives Rent Free

Star Trek has always been serious about big ideas. Exploration. Humanity. Ethics. Space diplomacy. And also, somehow, it has accidentally produced some of the funniest memes on the internet. Because when you give people decades of dramatic speeches, questionable uniforms, time travel paradoxes, and captains who absolutely should not be trusted with temporal mechanics, the memes are inevitable.

These are the memes that only work because Star Trek takes itself just seriously enough. Spock being done with everyone. Picard facepalming before facepalming was a thing. Kirk solving problems by punching them. Data trying very hard to understand humor while being unintentionally hilarious. Worf getting knocked out for the fiftieth time. And Janeway making morally complex decisions that still somehow feel personal.

Whether you grew up on The Original Series reruns, worshipped at the altar of The Next Generation, binged Deep Space Nine as an adult and realized it was way darker than you remembered, or discovered Trek through Strange New Worlds, these memes hit the same universal truth. Star Trek is thoughtful, hopeful, occasionally ridiculous, and deeply memeable.

<a10:link href="https://cheezburger.com/43634437/26-star-trek-memes-that-boldly-go-where-your-brain-lives-rent-free" /><a10:updated>2025-12-14T14:00:00-08:00</a10:updated>
