Alice in Wonderland - Going Postal

This is a challenge I've been wanting to participate, over at The Altered Alice Blog that I've joined recently they have fun challenges. Alice in Wonderland has been always a Childhood story in my life that I will always remember. The first time I heard or saw this was the Disney Movie version and I fell in love with it. Now a days when Tim Burton came out with his version I though it was genius master piece, very Tim Burton style and of course Johnny Depp's touch it is a spectacular movie.

Anyway the Altered Alice Blog recently announced a challenge called Going Postal so this is what I did, I hope you like it. If you would like to see the process of this beautiful postcard visit my Ustream and have fun watching.

I've made this card for someone that has been like a Father to my son, his uncle. After many years Uncle Ivan has been not only an uncle but a friend and truly a man of honor to my son. They went out to day to share fathers day together and my Son's Father is out of town but we have another card and my son called him to say Happy Father's Day.

I wish all the men I know that are Fathers a Awesome Fathers Day!!!

Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Pockect Watch

So for this technique chosen for this week’s CC2C Challenge on the Studio L3 blog is the Pocket Watch. The instructions for the technique can be found on page 35 of Tim Holtz’s book Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2.

Love the pocket watch is such an amazing thing to do and then yet I feel is like a little treasure that has disappear in time. Now I've always find pocket watches very sexy and attractive in a man, once in my life I met a man that would use a pocket watch and I was so fascinated with his style, this is such and old tradition but men around the World don't consider this an attractive watch to wear or carry. I have to thank Tim for bringing this tradition back in a Vintage way like everything Tim does an I can keep one forever.

So for this spectacular piece I've used as the background for my Pocket Watch Tim Holtz Paper, some metal embellishments metal clock plate, spinner and small key, the stamped number 63 comes from a Tim Holtz Clear Rubber Stamp Collection that is the bingo number line, some very tiny red lace and a wooden clip that I die with Distress Stains.

I love it, I hope you do as well :)

A Special Card for a Special Person

Today is a very special day, is day to celebrate with joy and love to the most important person in my life. So I've made a special card for him with allot of love. I truly wish the best on this day for him and for having the joy to have him in my life, I love you son Happy Birthday :D

Operation Write Home - Sketch Challenge #125

OK this one was tricky for me but then I kind of dominated the whole thing lol...I use a very nice paper for this and kind of stay off the Inks and the results were so pretty. Now I have discover a new technique for this, I have use a small punch that is a train and I can never punch anything because my fingers are not that strong to punch with them so I took out my Mini Hammer and BAM!!! My Ustream audience was terrorize LOL but I punch and punch and punch LOL....don't worry I took precautions to not destroy the punch. I hope you like :)

Operation Write Home - Sketch Challenge #124

This was very fun to do, nothing complicated but I did allot nice work on this one. The paper I choose for this one were a stack of 8x8 I love working with paper that is that size anything bigger gets complicated cause I don't have the right tools to cut them with. Allot of inking with Distress Inks so the results are very nice...Enjoy :)

Art Jouranl - Calendar for June

Hello, well this is late but secure calendar that I've done for my Art Journal and that will be the month of May. This will be participating on the Kathryn Wheel Blog that she does every month. This was very fun and easy to do.

I've used my Distress Stains and allot of ocean stars for a summer look and it came out fantastic didn't do to much work on it I've just doodle a little and stamp some. I can't wait to fill it out, this is a very special month.

Ok here is my part on Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012 - Tag of June. Now the technique use here was to alter your photos distress style…

Love the technique, I had allot of fun and memories creating this tag cause Tim choose and old picture of a Little Girl so I thought I would use and old picture of mine when I was a little girl LOL, yeap that is me with wild hair hahaha...Love the picture, I was so little way back then and it looks like I loved ice cream.

Then again I didn't have all the Tim Holtz things he used for his tag, but I manage to create my own and I think the results were splendid, I've made the tissue tape on top, the pin with a diamond and the plate that says Capture Life Moments the rest were part of my Tim Holt stash that I've been gathering slowly and as well other embellishments that were given to me as a gift. So this was a very challenging Tag because it had allot of detail. This is a very Vintage and Distress look for my tag and I love it.

Anyways I hope you like my June Tag as much as I did :)

Tim Holtz Inspiration Tag/Card

Sunday Tim Holtz fun day!!! Yes this weekend I've just delighted myself with Tim's world. I've have done the project that Tim post in his blog this past week "stamp2cut is here..."

I was completely attracted by the project even though I do not own the stamp that he have used on this project nor the eclips machine or stamp2cut cartridge no.2, so that was a challenge. So even though I've lacked of the big things on this project I've manage to do the whole thing all by hand no cutters or eclipse etc.

Now the image that I've used was a digital image from Feubels-Frebbies, the stamps I've used are all Tim Holtz, the chipboard tag is from Inkssentials from Ranger, I've also add a Trinket Pin form Tim's ideo-ology line and the rest were from different brands like the paper and the gears and f course my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads and Distress Stain.

The whole process was recorded on my Ustream Channe l and it was a long video but fun to watch, I usually do this for YouTube but I was just in the mood just showing the whole process. The results were amazing I like it so much that I might do a video of this for YouTube.

Thanks to Tim for his wonderful creativity and to put mine to a challenge, I love my Tag/Card!

Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Repurposed Packaging

June, my favorite month of the year. WOW!!! This year is like FLASH!!! No kidding...

Anyway here is my Challenge for Studio L3 Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Repurposed Packaging. Now this was very cool to do, cause I like Poker cards even though I am not like a good card gamer LOL. But the challenge was not that difficult to attack.

PS: That reminds me when I went to Aruba, at the casino's what I like to watch playing was Baccarat, how ever you should have seen my POKER FACE hahaha...but seriously if you have never seen this go ahead and watch is very interesting).

We had to create our own work of art using the Repurposed Packaging Technique on page 62. For this challenge I've used a TAG, Distress Ink Pads, Clips, Mini Poker Cards, A Penny, Distress Crackle Paint and plastic. The results POKER FACE lol...I love it using all my Tim Holtz products I had the fun time to do this challenge and I love it.

Operation Write Home - Sketch Challenge #115

Ok, got good news I finally got myself a Runner Tape Adhesive a small one I talk all about in my last video called "97 Cents Haul StudioG Thanks to My Friend" . So now I can at least keep myself busy learning how to use this new toy and I can definitely send my cards to the OWH center. Even though this was a gift I'm still saving to get an ATG gun, after allot of research and study from the masters of Crafting I think making this choice of getting an ATG gun it will be the best in the long run.

So moving on I just made a card for OWH this time is Sketch Challenge #115 below the great Sketch and my creation.

Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Brushless Watercolor

This will be Challenge #7 for Studio L3 with the Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 2 page 49 that challenge me to do a Brushless Watercolor Technique that will be sponsored by Eclectic Paperie.

Well, this time like usual I've choose a tag to do the job. Not an complicated technique at all actually was very easy and fun. I also use an embossing technique for the background so I think it came out pretty neat. So what I mainly use for this tag was Distress Inks Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo, Forest Moss, Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen. I've also use clear embossing powder and some metallic embellishments. For the stamps I've use Tim Holtz clear rubber stamps.

I've decide to join Operation Write Home and I did my first attempt on doing a nice card specially for this Holiday of Memorial Day 2012.

CC2C #6, this time we have to create something using the Tissue Wrap Collage technique on page 38 from Tim Holtz book. This challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique .

This Technique was really easy to do cause I kind of practice this in my prior Tag for Tim's 12 Tags of 2012. I love working with tissue paper is very simple and you can get great effects and results with it. So I hope you like it :)

I finally got this morning everything I need it to complete this project and I'm so happy. Many of the materials are not exactly like Tim Holtz 2012 May Tag but I manage to get something that would go with the same theme.

I think this tag is so beautiful, I enjoy creating this tag so much I had a smile in my face all the time. Tim Holtz has so much creativeness and ideas that is just amazing to do something similar. Very fun to do, I love it!!!

I have so far Tag, ribbons, clips, embellishments, centimeter ribbon , roses, wood spool. I'm still missing some of the main materials but I'm still working on it. Can wait to do this :)

Compendium of Curiosities 2 - Shattered Stains

Well very busy weekend with Mother's Day and all that, I've barely had time to sit down and do what I love to do but spending time with my family was the best yet.

For this week Compendium of Curiosities 2 challenge is Shattered Stains found on page 48 of Tim Holtz book. This challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. The whole concept of this technique is very fun and quite challenging, I've try my best to get those stains in the crackle paint as much as I could, hope I did it right. For this challenge I've created a tag and have used several Ranger materials like Distress Inks, Distress Crackle Paint, one of Tim's rubber clear stamps sentiments and grunge board.

Gouache Vs Acrylic Paints for Mixed Media Art Journal

In this video I'm just giving you a comparison between Gouache and Acrylic Paints. I'm just using the most economic brands in the market that Michaels or Joans offer (USA Art Material). I hope this will be helpful for you if you are going to start an Art Journal or maybe some Art that needs this type of paints.

In the past I've used great and expensive Art products that are fantastic, so I know for a fact the difference between all this brands. Working back to my materials and slowly I figure trying on a budget lol, but they are worth it.

Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 - Faded Layers

This is challenge #4 that Studio L3 is hosting. This week is page 43 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, Tim Holtz's Faded Layers technique. I've got the Flourish mask form Tim's idea-ology collection for quite a while now and have never use it, OMG what I've been mixing LOL. To be honest with you I felt a little intimidate cause this mask is quite large, once I've put my hands on the job I definitely love it and I'm looking forward to have more of his masks in the future.

This technique is pretty amazing, I can't express how fabulous the results are I really like every aspect of the technique and what I have created is very cool. This time I've chosen my Art Journal to create this, so I went ahead and use the Floral Mask, Distress Ink Pads and different sets of Tim Holtz clear rubber stamps. I hope you like it and I absolutely recommend this type of masks, love it!!!

Mixed Media Art Journal Update

This is just an update on my Art Journal, I've been inspired lately with many Mixed Media Artists and very glad to have the opportunity to show my work with you. The more I do, the better it gets learning new techniques and having so much fun.

Usually I start my creations from my mind but sometimes when I see something I try to make similar things with my little touch and then is comes out really cool. I have now a new set of Gouache colors and I will start implementing this type of paint in my work, I haven't work with Gouache in a long time so I'm very exited about it. I have experience working with this type of paint and the results are absolutely gorgeous I can't wait. Thanks for to all the Bloggers that visit my blog.
