The Los Angeles Lakers are poised to prove that when you are a proven playoff performer, your regular season performance can take a back seat. Well, we'll soon find out if that approach pays off for the veteran Lakers who are expected to reach the conference finals with relative ease.

Stumbling their way into the playoffs losing 5 of their last 7, no one seems to be in a panic. Well, at $36 a share, and with very little potential earnings in the first round, playoff traders at Fantasy Sports Stocks aren't making their way to the checkout counter. The Lakers are the least traded team heading into the playoffs. Let's see if that changes in the coming weeks. A win over the Hornets can earn you a measly few bucks.

Unsung Heroes on FantasySportsStocks.com

With the NBA Regular Season coming to a close, teams are carving out their playoff path. Playoff parity in the NBA has been a problem for years, with top teams usually going the distance and lower seeded teams getting bounced in the first round, it's no wonder teams like the Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, and Spurs are getting most of the attention.

With all the attention focused at the top, FantasySportsStocks.com would like to share their low seeded unsung hero picks for the NBA playoffs.

Without further adieu, here are our top 3 sleepers;

Joe Johnson ($63/share) and the Atlanta Hawks ($28/share) are not far removed from what can be labeled as a potential spoiler in the NBA playoffs. A healthy lineup and very little media attention can take teams a long way. Especially when expectations are so low. Look to Joe and the Hawks to put a dent in a top eastern team. A 1st round upset can potentially double their worth.

Andre Iguodala ($48/share) and the Philadelphia 76ers ($35/share) are one of our favorites to make a splash in the trading market. With more and more FSS Traders looking this way, it's clear we are not alone. If the 76ers can upset in the 1st round, get ready to pocket thousands.

LaMarcus Aldridge ($60/share) and the Portland Trailblazers ($40/share) are fighters in the dominant West. The Western spoiler is very unlikely, but if LaMarcus can win 2 big games, then there's no losing with this stock. If you're going to mix your portfolio with a gutsy pick, might as well make it this one.

Los Angeles Lakers Back in Business

The Lakers started the season at $32 a share before plummeting to just
$15. Poor play and lack of popularity were the main cause of their demise
until the Kobe-yashi factor put the Lakers back to respectability at $43 a
share. Buy-in today before the iron strikes in the playoffs.

Not So Mav-allas in Dallas

The Dallas Mavericks have had struggles in staying consistent in the FSS
market. With highs of $55/share back in December to lows in January of
$15/share, the Mavs have yet to solidify themselves as a legitimate power
stock. Be cautious buyers at $32/share, especially given their early
exit playoff history

Rockets Lift-off

The Houston Rockets are now making a late season rally for a playoff spot,
which can prove to be very profitable for shareholders. Their stock has
been climbing since their wretched low of $4 a share back in November to a
now whopping $30/share. Ride the wave folks.

New York Yankees @ $9.99
At $10 a share, the Yankees are very tempting to buy. They may not win the division, and they will likely get off to their typical slow start, but at $10 a share, you can't go wrong

Baltimore Orioles @$18.49
The Orioles are double the price of the New York Yankees. Should we write more? Stay away until further notice!

Arizona D Backs @$6.93
The D Backs can't seem to catch a break. They are trading really low these days, but it's strictly a result of their performance. There aren't many market takers, which is hurting their chances of growing quickly. Not the best buy, but if you're looking for a long shot sleeper, then why not.

Atlanta Braves $16/share:
The Braves may not take the division, but keep in mind they were only 6 games back last season. Even though the Phillies rotation is not faire to the rest of baseball, the Braves have a magic in them that may see their stock value soar.

Boston Red Sox $19/share:
With the Yankees taking multiple blows as of late, the door is wide open for the Red Sox to jump back in the picture. They'll have to battle through the Rays just the same, but their stock value should hit mid 40s in no time.

Chicago Cubs $15/share:
The Cubs have under achieved for quite some time now. We always have the Cubs creeping back into respectability, but we're often wrong. We're not quite sure the Cubs will break to $22 mark by mid season.

The New Orleans Saints stand to earn the highest projeted gain of the week with a win over the New York Giants. Followed by the Cleveland Browns who kick off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. 36% of FSS's market bought stock in the New Orleans Saints this week.

NFL NFC Preview on Fantasy Sports Stocks

Last week's blog covered the AFC preview, so as promised, here is the NFC preview and how it'll impact FantasySportsStocks.com

NFC East

We're still not really sure why the Eagles are topping the division all other previews out there. But we can tell you this, we don't think they'll win the division but we do think they'll be a profitable stock. If the Eagles can string 9 wins or more, they'll make you money. The Cowboys, and Giants are HIGH risk stocks. They have high expectations, but little rewards at the end of the tunnel.

NFC North

The Bears made a lot of changes, and although we also think they will take this division, we would still rather put our money in the Vikings. With the addition of Favre to their play calling, there is a definite guarantee they'll string a few upsets.

NFC South

The Saints can run away with this division. Look for Drew Brees to lead a high octane offense with some blowout wins. Here's the catch, we believe the Saints will beat up on the weaker teams and leave a lot to be desired for against the stronger ones. Well guess what that means? Nothing for Fantasy Sports Stocks Traders. Money is not made on bullying, it's made on upsets. For that reason, we love the Tampa Bay Bucs to steal a few division wins.

NFC West

The expectation is that the Arizona Cardinals will bust this season. Fantasy Sports Stocks Insiders are not of the same belief. The team is roughly the same despite a few staff changes, so we're sticking with the Cards to post 10 wins. And since the Seahawks are back to health this season, we think they will rival the Cardinals for 9-10 wins which lead to some interesting games (side bets) down the road.

NFC Sleepers

The NFC has a lot of mediocrity and for that reason, it's hard to pick sleepers. But nonetheless, we'll stick with the St.Louis Rams who should finally break open the market with some important wins. Remember, 5 wins or more for this club, and their investors will be rich.

NFL AFC Preview on FantasySportsStocks

The NFL kickoff is fast approaching and Fantasy Sports Stocks' editors are scrambling to put together their stock projections.

The good news is that most of the data and paperwork is in. The bad news is that there might be a lot of surprises.

AFC EAST

We, along with others don't believe this division will be as competitive as last season, but we do believe it will still be a lucrative division for stock investors. We expect the New England Patriots to take the lead in the division with 12 wins, but look for the upset teams on the other end of those 4 losses, that's where the money will be. The Jets and possibly Miami should be two of those four teams. We all know a division rival win can boast the projected gain of any stock.

AFC NORTH

The AFC North might be last season's AFC East. With the Ravens and Bengals improving their depth charts, it's no wonder analysts are high on at least two teams coming out of the division. Despite what others think, the Pittsburgh Steelers should take the lead on the division, but because of last season's strong finish on the market, we don't believe they can keep up the high stock price with 10 to 11 wins. They'll need 13 to 14 and that's not likely.

AFC SOUTH

The Houston Texans are putting themselves out there once again. But the truth is they haven't been blessed with a weak division. Expect bigger things from the Texans this season, but don't expect a consistent money maker. The same goes for the Jaguars who should see more consistent play, but not results. Unless Maurice Jones Drew carries for more than 1200 yards, don't expect a potent offense to counter the AFC's active scoreboards.

AFC NORTH

Believe it or not, the Raiders are our pick for the AFC North money maker. Let's clarify before you click elsewhere. We do not pick the Raiders to finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the division. In fact, if it was possible to finish 5th, they would. That's how bad they are. But the good news is that they are better than last season so we expect them to win 5 solid games, 2 of which should come at the hands of a division rival. Look for those opportunities.

AFC SLEEPERS

There are three teams in the AFC we expect will put up better results on the field and on the stock market. For starters, we like the Texans. We are of the strong belief they'll surprise a few teams this season for 7 solid wins and strong earnings for Fantasy Sports Stocks Traders. For the main meal, we love the Cleveland Browns for 8 wins in a tough rival division. Expect big things from the boys of Ohio. The dessert is our final topper for the evening; a small serving of the Buffalo Bills. The Bills improved their offense and defense. If they can establish the same running game they had last season, they'll be good for 8-9 wins.

Kane Is A Kid

Thankfully for the Chicago Blackhawks the Patrick Kane vs Cabbie issue was put to rest today. Kane did not deny that he physically attacked the Cab driver, and today apologized to everyone for the mishap.

The Chicago Blackhawks are currently valued at $29 a share on FantasySportsStocks.com, and the expectations this season is that they will hit the $50 mark by Christmas. Look for it.

Red Sox Get Payback Thus Far

AL West Beefed Up

Typically, the Los Angeles Angels are running away with the division title by this time of year. But this year is the start of something new, something divine perhaps.

Both the Texas Rangers, yes Rangers, and the Seattle Mariners have already reached the 60-win mark by this day. The consequences are remarkable; a tighter division race, a tighter Wild Card race, and more star exposure in a western market that usually feels the feeling.

What does this all mean for Fantasy Sports Stocks Traders?

Historically, FSS has always punished tight divisions because of the rival showdowns that lead to .500 results. Unless two of the four teams run away with the division, the stock price won't make you rich.
