Faresin Leader Double 2200

Agricultural machinery is of course not only tractors and combines. I speak and write about them often, because range of models available in the market is very broad, and... I know that you like reading about it :). Today, something else... mixer wagon from Faresin.

The hero of today's post is a mixer wagon (Faresin brand) codenamed Leader 2200. It is a self-propelled construction with a vertical arrangement of the two mixing augers. The machines in this family are available with 170 or 210 hp engines.

This powerful machine is equipped with a tank in which two solid augers cut and mix feed components. That tank in this case has a capacity of 22 m3 and a maximum load capacity of 7.2 tonnes.

Pictures, which you can see below I did a few years ago during a press presentation in Poland. During the presentation Leader looked pretty sharp :). What impressed me? Spacious and comfortable cabin. Chassis ensures a really good maneuverability. All thanks to this that the two axes are controlled.

BCS is a company producing specialised tractors (and some other machinery). Currently, the group consists of brand BCS, Ferrari and Pasquali. I’m going to tell you something about it, because history of BCS is quite impressive...

I do not know what about you, but I like numbers. Thank to them in short sentence you can find some interesting information. So I prepared some numbers about BCS.

BCS Company was founded in 1940 and at first it was only ... workshop. Three years later, a small workshop was transformed into the BCS Company. 10 years was enough to reach the level of 3 thousand tractors sold! Remember, we're talking about specialized tractors. Let's move on. The next 10 years and a further increase in sales, this time at the level of 100 thousand! In 2007, total sales of of the BCS products was one million units. But here it should be noted that we’re talking about BCS, Ferrari and Pasquali tractors.

Model on the pictures is called Volcan. It is the most extensive group of BCS machines. They are available in AR and RS versions (models with steering wheels and steering pivot), but also MT, Dualsteer, STD RS and STD Dualsteer. MT machines are designed to work in difficult conditions (including the sloping terrain) and for heavy loads. They have all the wheels of equal size, low center of gravity and a reversible driver's seat. Dualsteer is a versatile machine with a very high functionality. All they are equipped with swivel joints, swivel front wheels and reversible operator's seat. A characteristic features of STD machines are different size wheels and a compact wheelbase.

Farm fairs 2013 - SIMA

SIMA 2013

I know a lot of people who fell in love with Paris. Beautiful buildings, beautiful places, beautiful language... I like Paris, because I like SIMA trade fair :P This is one of the biggest events of all. Every two years, agricultural companies from all over the world presents their products. See how this year's edition looked like...

Most agricultural machinery premieres take place at the German Agritechnica and SIMA. Some Italian companies making their premieres at the EIMA exhibition. It was no different this time. Check it out and be sure to write what you think of our video report from the SIMA exhibition.

PS.: I know that my last movies don’t have English subtitles. I had some problems with it, but it seems to be ok now, so I hope that every FDC episode will have subtitles by the end of the week :).

Forgive a short break, but the exhibition period began :). Immediately after the TSW exhibition (fruit fair in Poland), in Paris the SIMA exhibition took place. And… we’re at the end of preparing the video report from this event. Meanwhile, in compensation I have an interesting topic :) … entirely dedicated to the Master Ferrucio Lamborghini.

In the gallery of the most distinguished heroes of the automotive industry, for many years its position has Ferrucio Lamborghini… Master of Style. This is the father of a Lamborghini. Lamborghini known to farmers, but also the well-known ... Lamborghini the car. :) Ferrucio founded Lamborghini Trattori in 1947, and nearly 20 years later, he moved his interest in the cars.

Ferrucio Lamborghini is a zodiac bull. And as you know, there is a bull in Lamborghini tractor logo. It is also worth mentioning that the brilliant Italian designer has built his first tractor with his own hands. Lamborghini brand now belongs to the Same Deutz-Fahr Group, and continues to offer a full range of agricultural tractors with impeccable design.

In my opinion, Lamborghini tractors are the most… sport-styled… fast&furious… cool&rockin’… of all the tractors. :P Starting from the smallest to the giant R8, Lamborghini tractors are breathtaking. Well, maybe a I was little bit exaggerated. R1 model Body Line is about as dynamic as a playing chess ... But in this case… who cares ;)

R6.160 model represents the largest family of Lamborghini tractors. It is divided into three groups: R6 100-125, R6 VRT and R6 130-185. The first group consists of four machines with a maximum power of 100 to 130 hp. In three tractors is mounted 4-cylinder engine, while R6.115 unit is equipped with a 6-cylinder.

The main difference between the representatives of R6 VRT series, and all the rest R6 is used gear. There is a continuously variable transmission in VRT tractors. R6.160 belongs to the last group: R6 130-185. This powerful constructs are driven by 6-cylinder power units. Maximum power is in the range from 132 to 192 hp. The whole group consists of five models. Three smaller tractors have 12-valve unit, while the two largest models are equipped with 24-valve engines. Equipped with a 160-horsepower engine R6.160 model is equally in the middle of SDFG offer (Same Deutz-Fahr Group).

TSW is a two-day exhibition held in Warsaw (Poland). TSW is a polish shortcut from Fruit and Vegetable Growing Fair. At this fair we made another video blog episode, but this time a little differently than before. Le grande blue :)

New Holland T8 Series tractors are - without a doubt - one of the most powerful machines of this type in the world. Big, blue with cool design make colossal impression at the first meeting. Take a look at the model T8.390.

Mighty New Holland could be described as a typical (large but still typical) farm tractor with traditional body line. Could be, but it will be not. Why? Because of the hood :). Impressive geometric shape with all these rounded elements – looks very cool for me. I must admit that NH designers did great hob in here. And those ribs...

Under the hood lies ... Fiat Powertrain Technologies Cursor 9 – of course. 6 cylinders and 8.7 liter engine displacement – gives 340 hp power rating (ISO TR 14396).

There is also a EPM system. EPM means Electronic Power Management. It gives a maximum power (in this model) – 389 hp. More technical information you’ll find on agriculture.newholland.com.

At the end of last year summer I was on TV set preparing one of the automotive TV programs. There was a lot of work, but I found some time to make a few photographs of the main character of this program... It was John Deere 8430 with the Lely Welger RP545 round baler.

In the United States, there are few days treated as national holidays. The best example is the final game of American football league crowning struggle in the National Football League. This unique game called the Super Bowl is the most important part of the huge sporting, but also cultural event, which is celebrated in the U.S. just as a national holiday.

A characteristic point of the game is a special block of commercials, which presents the most expensive, but often the most interesting spots. This year's final of the Super Bowl was played two days ago, and one of the best commercial was made by Dodge. Interesting spot was devoted entirely to farmers.

Before I go on watch the commercial:

Image in this video is a presentation of several very impressive and incredible photographs combined with photos of Dodge Ram pickup truck (one of the most popular pickup in the U.S.). The soundtrack, is a montage of the speech of American radio legend Paul Harvey, which was first delivered in 1978 at the FFA convention. FFA - Future Farmers of America, is an American organization for children and young people. Main purpose for FFA is to support the future of farmers and people working in agriculture.

The main character of the speech, and in Dodge commercial is a farmer. And the message is clear and very readable. Harvey with beautiful words draws attention to the important role of the farmer in the economy and in the world.

But that's not all. It's a commercial of a car. As I wrote above - Dodge RAM. Producer of this car reached an agreement with the FAA. Each play of the commercial on this page: http://www.ramtrucks.com/en effect of transferring the funds to the account of the FFA. The goal is one million dollars. Of course, I keep my fingers crossed and I encourage you to watch it.

Ursus 14034

More machines on FDC! : D Exactly. I decided that there is not enough farming machines at FarmDriver.com :D Luckily I know how to change it. I'll try to write regularly about interesting (in my opinion) machines. The first one will be rejuvenated Ursus – model 14034.

I've mentioned earlier about the brand Ursus, so I will not elaborate on this. It should be noted that with the change of management it was time for a number of other changes. Luckily positive. One of them is ... the appearance of polish tractors. Ursus 14034 is the best example. When I saw this tractor for the first time I thought to myself, "nice, it’s really good-looking piece of farming machinery".

Body line is very simple. I think that the designers deliberately avoided sophisticated design. You will not find twists, folds and other elliptical ornaments on this machine. It is simple ... but not squarely. Very different than a few years ago, when some "refreshed" Ursus models were nasty as the weather in November. Today is different, and 14034 machine is really attractive.

And what is hidden under the hood? Under the hood lies a 140-horsepower Iveco engine. Engine meets the emissions standard Euro III. Maximum power can be achieved at 2200 rpm. Maximum torque is 630 Nm.

As it is not difficult to guess, the tractor is equipped with four-wheel drive (with a mechanical differential lock on the rear axle and automatic differential lock at front axle). Ursus 14034 uses ZF transmission. Gear box 40/40 is equipped with a creeper, power shuttle and power shift.

On the back – hydraulic lift system with EHR and a maximum working load 7000 kg. The pump flow rate is 120 l / min.

As I promised … Below there is a video report made last week during the 9th edition of the MTAS (International Fair of Fruit Farming Agotechnology). Therefore, it is the first exhibition report in FarmDriver.com vblog. So I would be grateful for any form of commenting and giving opinions. :) Feel free to write whatever you think about it :)

Exhibition season started!

On the last weekend in Warsaw took place ninth edition of the International Fair of Fruit Farming Agrotechnology. Therefore, in very short time you will find a video report on our youtube channel :) But that's not all ...

It's little bit difficult to write about exhibition which you don't know at all. But I'll try... It is undoubtedly a specialized exhibition. There are less people than at the Agritechnica, SIMA or polish Agrotech, but almost all visitors are working in horticulture. What was most important for me? Of course machinery, but it was not only an exhibition with machines.

The exhibition was organized ... at the Gromada Hotel, and so the surface and the possibility of exposure were quite limited. The machines were on the ground floor and in a tent outside. About what you could see there, I will tell you in FarmDriver.com video report. :)

I would like to add that Gromada Hotel, where an exhibition is located, is about 1 km from the airport, so it is really good for guests from abroad. But for the locals it's little bit worse, because there is definitely not enough parking spaces.

In February, I wil visit next farming exhibition.

Hello again,

It's been a while since I wrote something. I was unavailable for some time, but I'm back. :) Few weeks ago I was reading about new movie premiere - Texas Chainsaw 3D. It's a horror movie with a chainsaw in main cast :)

I wanted to go to the movies, but I did not. So I decided to shoot my own movie with a chainsaw in the lead role...

In 6th FarmDriver.com episode you will see few years old Husqvarna 137 e-series. I had the opportunity to work on this machine a few days, so I thought I'd share with you my opinion.

It's time for agricultural exhibitions :)

I have a tradition that every year in January, I prepare my private calendar with all interesting agricultural exhibitions. I note in the exhibitions and fairs, which I probably will see, and those that I will miss. I can not show you all calendar yet because it is not even finished yet, but one of the events where I will be start on Friday ...: D (it's in Poland) What does this mean? Well, I'm sure the next video :)

The exhibition I ment is IX The International Fair of Fruit Farming Agrotechnology 2013. It's going to start in friday and I'm going to be there :)

Farm ATVs will remain farm ATVs

I have very interesting information for you. But first, a brief introduction. :) I have written several times about the use of ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicle) in agriculture. As you know, those machines are commonly used on farms.

Some time ago, someone came up with an idea to include utility all terrain vehicles in the same regulations as the quad bikes used on public roads. Hmm... what a great idea :/ Fortunately, that's not going to happen. Recently deputies in Strasbourg decided that such a thing will not happen.

The inclusion of "farmer's quad bike" to a group of road vehicles would need to incur certain investments. Talking about the increased emissions standards and the obligation to install the ABS ... which in agricultural conditions is unnecessary. As a result, the cost of such agricultural quad is growing, and its purchase at some point it gets too costly.

Winter is coming...

I was going to write a few words in the subject of GMOs. It’s not my thing, but it’s important in Poland nowadays. You can here recently about this in the media, and so perhaps more people would find my blog. :)

The problem is that I can not write about it not knowing the subject. For now I’m not an expert but I must admit that I'm more like opponent of GMO. Although I have a rule that I always carefully listen to all the arguments.

Ehh… I sad that I do not write about it and even then I could not resist...

Therefore move on to more interesting topics. I mean ... machines: D

Just three more days and December will come. Which means cool weather, and at some point probably also snow. So… field work is over but.. fortunately we have to deal with the snow :)

Snow removal equipment. In fact, you can use almost everything to remove snow. There is snow shovel, ATV vehicles , tractors, loaders, utility vehicles and snowblowers of course. I will write about it more in the future (when snow comes), but now I have some nice photos for you :)

Gyroplanes in agriculture

There are a few things that interest me every day. There are, of course, agricultural machinery, motorcycles (especially off-road), aviation, sports, etc. I could write more. There is nothing strange or unusual in it. The situation changes when some of these "disciplines" are mixing :)

Therefore, you can find lot of world agricultural machinery, automotive and sports information at the agrotechnic.pl. But none of this information is not equal to that about using gyroplanes in agriculture. It is already known for many years that aircrafts are used in agriculture. Planes are still very popular in several regions in the world. But gyroplanes, "little helicopters"... that's something else.

In Poland, the performance of agricultural practices with the gyroplane is ... hmm ... is rather treated as a interesting news. Interesting, but only news. However, there are countries where this is normal. For example, Spain.

Something about heavy soils...

As you probably have noticed, the last few days I have not written anything on the blog. There are several reasons, but the most important relates to a series of texts that I was preparing for agrotechnic.pl. Unfortunatelly there are in polish only... but I've got something instead.

My articles are describing a rough treatments and machines used to work on heavy soils. So I found interesting article about it from Ireland: Challenges facing heavy soil farms this autumn.

Well, we have a winter... (in Poland :D) On the one hand it's nice, on the other hand... it will not be easy to make another FarmDriver.com vblog episode :). For now, this unusual weather has mobilized me to lazy Internet surfing. And I found an interesting site. :)

If you are interested in cherry theme, or if you have this delicious fruit on your plantation, you should visit: www.czeresnia.com (it's only in polish language, but you can use translator). There is a lot of information about cherry varieties. You will also find some tips about growing. Very positive is that the website is dedicated.

As it turned out, the page runs my friend :), so I recommend it more :D

I tried to write something in here from almost 3 or 4 days. But I couldn’t :) You ask why? I started to test agricultural games (on PC). It’s not my first time, but…

Some time ago I decided to start testing video games related to agriculture. Everything went so, that I tested one... and it's not actually a farming game. I wrote an article about it, but it’s in polish only :( After that, each and every topic seemed more important than a playing games on the computer. Today I can confidently say that I was wrong. :)

At the time I’m currently testing (at this moment :) ) Farm Simulator 2011. Therefore, I can’t write anything else because I have to go back to playing... to work :)

I guarantee that you will soon be reviewed ... and maybe I will make something else too :)

Farmer - the renaissance man

Have you ever wondered who is a farmer? I thought about it a little bit, especially in college. While I was student at Warsaw University of Life Science (SGGW). Farmer, agriculture and farming department - this was a common theme. Unfortunately, sometimes they were difficult discussions. It was not hard to meet gentleman who stated that agriculture is simple, easy, and when you learn you do not have to try.

So I decided to write who is a farmer… “the man who cultivates potatoes”.

This is a person who has to learn more than basic knowledge of climate and meteorology. Needs to know the impact of climatic conditions on crops and soil. A good farmer must have a fairly detailed knowledge of the same soil - know their types, structure, composition, he has to know what affects the changes in the soil, he has to be able to counteract them. He must know all about the plants... those who grow and those with whom he has to fight every year. He must know how they grow to have a real impact on the yield, which is his profit. He must be able to protect them and know how to collect the fruits of their work to avoid damaging anything.

Deciding to fight with some plant species he need to know how to do it. To prevent weed chemicals are used. He must be able to use them, so he must know them and know how they affect. In addition to herbicides - because we are talking about them, there are fungicides, zoocides and many others. Knowledge about them is also important.

He must know the animals. Know their needs, to know what conditions they need to live, to recognize their illness.

He must be familiar with agriculture machinery. Know what they are, how to use them, how to buy them, to suit them to his own needs.

Farmer without basic knowledge related to the fulfillment of administrative various applications, computer applications, etc. is actually lossy.

Musi… i mógłbym tak wymieniać jeszcze przez kilka kolejnych linijek. Dlaczego? Dlatego, że rolnik to w pewnym sensie człowiek renesansu, który musi być matematykiem, fizykiem, chemikiem, biologiem, zootechnikiem, itd. Po prostu musi to wiedzieć, bo inaczej… lipa.

He must be a good mathematician, because running the farm is almost constant calculations, projections and forecasts, without which it is impossible to create a fully functional farm.

He must ... and I could just write a few more lines about it. Why? Therefore, the farmer is in a sense a “Renaissance man” who must be a mathematician, a physicist, chemist, biologist, Animal Production specialist, etc. He just need to know this...

Toughphone - research before test

I think, that I don’t have to convince anyone that mobile phone is required almost in every farm. Recently I've been on a few farms and each operator had a mobile phone. The question is which mobile phone is the best ...

Of course, 90 percent. of interlocutors will answers, that a good mobile phone must meet two conditions: it has to be simple and it must be equipped with long-held battery. I'm not going to argue, but for me it’s not enough.

It turns out that in the market there are several mobile phones that are more or less resistant to shock, dust, water, various kinds of dirt, etc. In my opinion all Smartphones do not apply in a typical agricultural conditions… well not all :) A few months ago I wrote a short text about JCB's Toughphone, but it's not the biggest news. So I decided to poke around a bit. Here's what I found:

Waiting for Bologna Show

I love the international exhibitions of agricultural equipment. You can see almost everything in there... except field demonstration. All exhibitors are doing everything to prepare for the big show. They want to show their designs in the coolest way possible. At the exhibition you can see super modern machines, designs straight from Star Wars, but also a historical machinery, which is huge pride for oldest companies.

Good example of such an event is the Italian EIMA. The next edition of EIMA International Exhibition will be held in November (7-11.11.2012) in Bologna. The organizer announced that in the exhibition halls of Bologna Trade Center, it will be possible to see products from all the major manufacturers. For me, the most important fact, is that there will be all italian manufacturers with their awesome design projects :)

Fortunately, the event remained only a little over 2 months ... I think I need to go to Bologna :)
