A science installation from STEPPING STONES MUSEUM in Norwalk, is on exhibit in the Children"s Room. This interactive exhibit is about good health and good nutrition. Parents and children alike can learn healthy facts and have a great time experimenting with the many fun learning stations. Don"t miss this educational and interesting experience.

Baby Massage at the Farmington Library

In collaboration with the Parent and Child Center at Bristol hospital, we were able to offer a baby massage class to our littlest patrons and their moms or caregivers. Sandra Godin was the instructor, who gave us a lot of information, and demonstrated the art of Nurturing Touch.

Everyone received a bottle of "food Grade" massage oil .

The babies loved it!

Today these young scientists learned about growing plants and the life cycle of a flower.

Children each took home sunflower seeds to bloom in their garden.

24 Contestants formed teams for the

First Annual Farmington Library Cupcake Wars!

Selecting the toppings

Themes were Dream Big, (which is our summer reading theme) , books or book characters, and the final, individual challenge was "my favorite celebration or holiday".

The overall winner was...Lindsay!

She won the giant soft cupcake trophy!

Contestants were judges on presentation, interpretation of the theme, originality

and neatness of their workstation

Sweet and savory toppings were available.

The cupcakes were presented by each group to our three judges Julie, Michelle and

Laura the Teen Librarian

After the program, everyone in the children's area was invited in to help with the leftovers. Can't wait for next year!

Bunnies at Barney

Preschoolers pretended to be bunnies today during story time at the Barney Library. We listened to bunny stories, danced the Bunny Hop and made a bunny craft. Mr. Bunny (our puppet) enjoyed it too!
