For the last few weeks, we've been collecting presents for our holiday trees in FarmVille like mad, with the knowledge that once Christmas hit, we'd be able to open up each of those presents to be rewarded with plenty of goodies inside. Well, if you can now tear yourself away from the "A Christmas Story" marathon on TV to play FarmVille, you can now start opening up all of those gifts! Of course, if you can't play FarmVille right now, we're still here to give you a preview of the things you'll find inside those gifts.

There are plenty of other gifts available to win by simply "Looking inside" your Holiday Tree on your farm and then hovering over the gifts at the bottom of the tree. This will automatically open the gifts you hover over, placing your prizes into your Gift Box. You can have a maximum of 1,000 gifts inside your tree, so if you've received close to that, you'll hover over items for quite some time before actually opening them all. Merry Christmas!

A massive new building project has launched in FarmVille this evening, both in size and complexity of the item in question. That item is the large Ice Palace, the base of which will be given to you for free when logging into your game. Once you place the Ice Palace, you'll quickly see that it has a striking resemblance to the Santa's Sleigh Christmas item, or any other upgradeable building project seen in the game over the past few months.

You'll need to collect a series of three building materials to start: 12 Snow Bricks, 12 Snowflakes and 12 Ice Nails. This gives you a Level 1 Ice Palace, that can be harvested from once per day to earn a single Magic Snowflake. What's the significance of this Magic Snowflake? As of this writing, there isn't one, but we're given a chance to stock up on some now, as they'll be needed soon in a new Magic Snowman.As you might expect, you can earn these items by asking friends to send them to you, or by purchasing them outright for a single Farm Cash per individual ingredient. As you upgrade your Ice Palace (there are six Levels in all), you'll be able to collect more and more Magic Snowflakes from it each day. Levels 1 and 2 give you a single Magic Snowflake, while Levels 3 and 4 give you two Snowflakes. Level 5 offers three Snowflakes, and finally, Level 6 gives off 4 Snowflakes with each collection.

Just what will those Snowflakes actually be used for? Will they simply make the Magic Snowman grow taller, or will they be used in some sort of prize redemption feature? We'll make sure to let you know when we have the answer to that question and more concerning this event, so keep checking back with us.

CityVille Moscow Mansion: Everything you need to know ( Details here )

The newest "Wonder" has been announced in CityVille, and this one's a biggie: The Great Pyramids. Of course, you can't simply build the Great Pyramids in your city (that would be far too convenient); instead, you'll need to go through three lengthy side-quests of sorts to eventually unlock it. As of this writing, the only step available is to complete the Moscow Mansion, which is a large task in and of itself.

You'll need to be level 30 or higher to access this feature. The Moscow Mansion, once completed, is a home with a population ranging from 3,550 - 6,550 citizens that offers 521 coins in rent once per day. Once you place its base in your town, you'll need to complete three overall tasks:

Gather Parts to Unlock the Mansion
Upgrade the Balalaika Shop to 2 Stars
Master one Russian Crop to 3 Stars

First things first, the Russian Crops include Sugar Beets, Potatoes or Winter Wheat. The Balalaika Shop, meanwhile, is a business that costs 65,000 coins in the store. It requires 305 Goods to operate for a single cycle. Finally, the first task in this goal is just as time-consuming as the others, as you'll need to collect a variety of building materials to be eligible to complete the Moscow Mansion.

10 Light Fixtures

The Marble Sink Tops, Plush Robes and Dinner Bells are earned through general news items posted to your wall, while the other two items are earned through individual gift requests sent to your CityVille neighbors asking for help. Of course, you can pay City Cash to complete any of these tasks, but keep in mind: even if you unlock the Moscow Mansion in its entirety with City Cash, you still won't be able to build the Great Pyramids Wonder in your city, as the other two steps to completing it have yet to be released.

Speaking of the Great Pyramids, the finished product will give you a 10X payout bonus to Vacation Houses, a 5x Payout Bonus to regional buildings and a 25% payout to some businesses. That's some pretty hefty incentive, but you'll definitely need to put the effort into this feature to get anything back from it. We'll make sure to let you know when more steps to unlocking the Great Pyramids are revealed!

FarmVille Mystery Game (12/26/11): Rainbow items come back around ( more details here )

Back in July, the FarmVille Mystery Game was filled with rainbow animals. This week, we're seeing the year end with a similar series of animals and even a gnome up for grabs in the rainbow theme. For this week's game, each dart costs 20 Farm Cash, which is up from the "normal" price point of 16 Farm Cash. You'll have a chance of winning one of six animals for each dart thrown (and you'll receive a free dart for logging into the game, if you login soon); here's the full lineup:

If you're going for one of each animal, remember that this could be a very costly process as you're likely to win up with duplicates before you actually win one of each animal. Unfortunately, this puts Gnome Collectors in the expensive position of purchasing a slew of animals that they may not even want, just to fill in the hole in their Gnome collection. You don’t get to keep it. By clicking “help” you put on your wall there’s a duckling who needs help, so somebody ELSE will get it.

If you want one, check your newsfeed for somebody who found a lost animal and then adopt it.

A new year is coming and these FarmVille animals are ready to celebrate!

There’s several Limited Edition New Year animals in the FarmVille Market ready to party on your farm and bring in 2012. You’ll see a Disco Horse, Giant New Year Cow, New Year Cow, Firework Ram, Disco Goat, New Year Dog, and Spotted Turtle. All the animals with the one exception of the Spotted Turtle are Farm Cash animals. The Spotted Turtle is available for 1.5 million Farm Coins.

The Fireworks Ram possesses a new Fire Work pattern that can be used in FarmVille Sheep breeding. The horse and cow will produce similar type offspring when placed into their respective breeding facilities.

How to maximize the amount of Magic Snowflakes?? Share First

It looks as though a new feature has arrived in FarmVille, continuing the frigid pace of the season. The Ice Palace is slowly rolling out tonight, and it’s a familiar theme – if you’ve built the Harvest Hoedown or Santa’s Sleigh in the past, you should know what to do by now.

Step 1: Upon logging into FarmVille, you may receive a pop-up proclaiming that the Ice Palace has arrived. If so, you will be taken into the placement period, allowing you to set your new Building model down on your farm somewhere. If you do not have space, simply click on the arrow icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen to send the frame of the Ice Palace to your gift box. Note that this is slowly rolling out, meaning not everyone has it yet. Give it a little bit of time and you should receive it soon.

Step 2: Of course, this is simply just the frame of the Ice Palace; you will need to build it for yourself. This will require 12 of each of these above new Materials: Snowflakes, Ice Nails, and Snow Bricks. After using 12 of each of these, your Ice Palace will be complete.

This Building is a lot like Santa’s Sleigh, in that once it is built you can collect from it daily to get goodies that you will be able to redeem in the future for brand new items altogether. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks!

Step 3: Once you have completed the Ice Palace, you will have the opportunity to upgrade the Building to maximize the amount of Magic Snowflakes it produces on a daily basis. The more Magic Snowflakes you get, the more prizes can be yours. You can find more parts on your Facebook feed, by sending some to others in hopes that they will return the favor, by purchasing some using FV Cash, or by clicking the “Ask for More” button below each of the options. You will need a staggering amount of Materials in order to boost this one all the way up to Level 6, including various other new materials like the Snow Globes, Ice Boards, and Frozen Beams.

The reciprocal has yet to be released for this one, but we can assume it will launch next week. Will you be participating in this event? Let us know!

Make some room- the buildable Ice Palace is here!

The Ice Palace is the latest FarmVille feature that you will be constructing by collecting building supplies and getting friend help.

When your first stage is completed, you’ll be able to harvest your Ice Palace for Snowflakes. And what are Magic Snowflakes for? You’ll be using Snowflakes for the upcoming Magic Snowman feature (still unreleased). Don’t worry he’ll be “coming soon” to FarmVille in the near future. The bigger your Ice Palace, the more Magic Snowflakes you’ll get when harvesting.

There are a total of 7 Ice Palace Stages. With each completed stage, the Ice Palace changes its physical appearance becoming larger and more grand.

There are a few ways to collect Ice Palace building supplies:

1. Send and receive supplies via the FarmVille Gifting Page
2. Use the “Ask for More” button when looking inside your Ice Palace
3. Find free supplies from your neighbors shares via the Facebook News Feed
4. Purchase supplies directly using Farm Cash via the FarmVille Market

ALL Farmville 2011 Review from Jan to Dec (Share First)

2011 proved to be quite a year in FarmVille. From the introduction of three new farm spaces to real-life plush and an IPO, Zynga’s smash hit game has certainly proven it’s not planning on going anywhere for quite some time.

Here are some of our top-rated FarmVille moments in 2011.

The English Countryside
In March, we brought you an exclusive preview of one of the biggest releases in FarmVille history – the English Countryside game expansion. This second farm space brought players to a new land with new crops, animals, trees and quests. There was controversy over the forced farm pause, which FarmVille ended up changing so players could choose whether or not they could handle two farms simultaneously.

Sheep Breeding
One of the perks of farming in FarmVille’s English Countryside was the ability to breed sheep. Soon, farmers were showing off camouflaged, flashing bundles of joy and sharing rams and ewes with friends. The fun didn’t last too long though – it turns out many of the patterns being produced were done dishonestly, and the feature was soon changed to ensure only Zynga-released patterns were created.

GagaVille Comes to Town
What happens when the biggest pop singer of our time teams up with the biggest farming game? GagaVille, of course. Lady Gaga brought a themed farm to the game in April that players could visit for virtual prizes, and she shared exclusive early listens to songs off her ‘Born This Way’ CD. This was a win-win for all players, whether they were Gaga fans or not. The exclusive in-game items are still being proudly displayed on many player farms months later.

Storage Transfer
As players were winding down on the final English Countryside quests in June, we learned the final prize for completing all the quests would be shared storage between the Home and English Countryside farm spaces. Much to the delight of players, they were given the ability to move items from farm to farm and decorate how they saw fit.

Lighthouse Cove
FarmVille welcomed in the fall season with a third farm for players to take care of. Lighthouse Cove was released in September, and brought even more new quests, crops, animals and trees to the game. Players who previously complained about a game pause were now considering using it with the thought of running three farm spaces. Lighthouse Cove carried us through the season, and coin expansions are still being released every few weeks for players to continue to grow the space.

Halloween in FarmVille
One of the most popular themes in FarmVille has consistently been Halloween. Players go all out with decorating, and Zynga went all out this year on making sure plenty was available to players to purchase. From a Trick of Treat feature for prizes to questing for Count Duckula, players were certainly kept on their toes.

Winter Wonderland
As if three farm spaces weren’t enough for players, FarmVille released a fourth farm space in December. Winter Wonderland is the latest getaway for players to visit, quest, plow, plant and decorate on. Sadly, there is no shared storage at this time on it, but players seem to be enjoying working in the new space.

Zynga’s IPO
After weeks of speculation and marketing, Zynga finally went public in December of 2011. The IPO did not have the strongest opening however, and is currently below their opening price of $10 a share.

Looking Ahead
For 2012, we think it’s safe to say that new farm spaces will continue to roll out to players to keep things fresh in the game. We expect to see more questing, more new trees and animals and of course, more new crops to master.
