Ever since I have seen the winter 2011 collection of Marloes Blaas during last years AIFW I love her collections. Unfortunately I wasn't able to enter this years show. But I want to share my opinion about this collection.

Just like always the collection is very female with a bit rough. The inspiration for this collection is the transformation of the Netherlands during the fifties. Women who work!! You see wool sweaters, straightforward dresses with leather details, long jackets and sturdy boots with wool socks along

The detail that I really loved were the silver spoons and saucers necklaces. Maybe it sounds a bit weird, but I love it. It really gives an funny and extra touch to your outfit. Just like last year I would love to add everything to my wardrobe. I love Marloes her style and outfits.

New Love: Zinga

During the Modefabriek I was walking around hoping for a nice brand new to discover. I saw the clothes of the brand Zinga and I fall in love. The fabrics are amazing just as the shape of the clothes.

The comfort of the clothes is so good that it feels like a second skin. The lightweight fabrics allows you to layer without giving it a huge effect. The clothes hold their shape. Different materials are mixed: cashmere with leather for example.

When I saw the new collection for the winter I just fall in love. I am in love with their cardigans and leggings. Hopefully I can add some of the pieces to my wardrobe. Below you see a preview of the winter 2012-2013 collection, but also some items for their summer collection. I will keep you updated about this lovely brand.

I had a great week! Some things that I have done: I went to the Modefabriek, two of my friends have passed their degree, I had two lovely days in Amsterdam with my best friend, went to the openingshow from Sjaak Hullekes during Fashion week, had fun bowling with some friends and enjoyed my free time. Today is my first day of my graduation. I am so excited about it, because I can't wait until I got my degree. From now on I will work 6 days a week and blog as much as I can. I think it will be a hard time, but when I do things that I enjoy it also gives me energy. Take a look below to see what I have done this week. AFW: Sjaak Hullekes

I had the honor the enter the show of Sjaak Hullekes during the opening of the Amsterdam Fashion week last Wednesday. Thank you Sjaak for inviting me for your show, I had an amazing time!

Sjaak opened the Fashion week and also presented his new underwear collection. Besides this collection he also shows his fall/winter 2012-2013 collection with both loose fitting and slim cut items in different layers were placed in the outfits. The idea behid the collection is the essence of our life, namely the elements, treasures and resources of our planet.

The result was a total collection of shoes, hats, scarves, gloves and overcoats in which the retro styles, bohemian dandy and richly represented.

Pretty collection with items that I want to add to my closet even though it was a menswear.

Simple and clean, a style that is close to mine. I love playing with a statement item in my outfit. And I have to admit that most of the time I wear white, black and grey. Because when you add a statement piece, like a necklace, neon color blazer, unique shoes or an oversized bag your outfit has a message. When I saw this outfit I really loved it, because it is an outfit that I can wear too!

Raf Simons draws inspiration from elite college life with Jil Sander’s pre-fall 2012 collection. The photographer Ben Weller captures models like Hanne Gaby Odiele, Karolina Mrozkova, Tilda Lindstam, Katya Konstantinova, Katie Fogarty and others in a room setting where they study, chat and have fun. The collection has all the trappings of an ivy league wardrobe with cardigans, sweaters, skirts and lush coats. I have to say that I find this setting cool and unique, because it shows the daily life.

Stephanie Baechler

The Swedish Stephanie Baechler follows a Fashion Master at the ArtEZ in the Netherlands. Her portfolio contains photos, drawings and fashiondesigns. From her interest in mass production of clothing and their consumption, the idea was to design clothes from existing materials. It seems not innovative, but the idea from Stephanie really is innovative. For a project she used curtains, plastic bags, packaging and various types of dust, on a very special way these are combined. This picture she has recorded and printed on new substances, with this she designed new clothes.
I really like the conceptand designs!

Modefabriek 2012

Yesterday I had a great day at the Modefabriek in Amsterdam. I went there with blogger but especially good friend Shirley.

I have admire the winter collections 2012/2013. During this day I spotted a lot of new brands. But more about that later. Today I want to share some photos of items that I love.

More than 600 brands showed their collection. From colorful jewelry till chic dresses. I really love watching everything! The clothes are a mix of materials. Wool is something that came back very often.

Enjoy these photos. And the coming weeks I will show you some brands that I have discovered during the Modefabriek. For now I want to share the brands with you: Royal Blush, Zinga (love this brand!!), Bibi Bijoux, Ichi, Elsien Gringhuis, A-couple, Verivinci and Sheguang Hu Fashion.

Just like last week this week was all about relaxing. I think I can get used to this, but unfortunately the coming week in the last week before my graduation is going to start. I am very excited about it!! Last week I went to a friend, babysit, read books and went shopping. And I got some good news: I have achieved my last exam! I am so happy about it :) This week I will attend to opening of the Amsterdam Fashion Week, go to the Modefabriek in Amsterdam and I have some dates planned with friends!

I love books and sale. So when I found these books in sale I bought them.

It is a little bit funny, but I have an obsession for the sky and clouds. When you take a look at all my digital photos probably 70% of them are photos of the sky. I don't know what it is, but I just love it!

Compared to his Spring collection, Alexander Wang had something much more tailored in mind for his pre-fall 2012 collection. You see a lot of sharp leather pieces over sheer plaid and houndstooth prints injected a structured and menswear feel to the collection. That keeps the New York Cty working girl so obviously in mind. There is burnout, there is smokey color blocking and much more to love.

I haven't done anything special this week. Made my exam, went to my grandmother, went to work, had a lovely date with a friend, clean my closets and read some books. I love this relaxing time, it was just what I needed. The last weeks were very stressful with a lot of schoolwork to do. The coming week I haven't much on schedule. I have told you last week that I had an exam on Monday. So Monday morning I went to school early to study a bit.

I am starting to plan my spring wardrobe. In my search for new collections I saw the new lookbook from Club Monaco and I would love to share it with you. The collection it simply, there is definitely a little something for everyone. If you are in a rock-chic vibe, there are leather vests and jackets. For a preppy look, you will find striped sweaters and sleek blazers. For the bohemian, there are wide-leg jeans and flower dresses. If you are in the sophisticate mood, there are quilted jackets and classic trench coats. A little detail; I love the socks that they are wearing in open shoes.

A story of teenage freedom inspired by the 80s and 90s. That is the first thought that I had when I saw this editorial. The January issue of Elle US showed model Ali Stephens in clothes from Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Philip Lim and Fendi. I really love the photos that are made by Bruno Staub. The atmosphere of the photos is different in every shot and that really attract me.

A Visit To London

A good friend of mine went to London for a couple of days. She was so sweet to take some pictures of the Alexander McQueen shop, London College of Fashion and the window from Escada for me.

A visit to London is on my wishlist for a long time. I don't know what it is, but I have the feeling that I will love the city. Maybe because I have the idea that it is like New York but than smaller. When I see the photos and hear stories about London I can't wait to visit this city. I hope this year I will go to London for a few days and experience the city myself. I want to thank my sweet friend K. for sending me the photos.

Who can I describe this week? I study every day for my exam that I have today. Hopefully it will be my last one. Everytime when I have an exam I get very nervous, so I am super happy that it is almost over. Like you have seen on my blog I am super excited about the new collection of Maison Scotch. I went to foam in Amsterdam with my brother and afterwards we went to Maison Scotch. I bought two shirts there and I am very happy with them. Enjoy this weekly journal and have a nice week!

I have to most amazing friends in the world! Last week I got this card from one of my friends to wish me luck for my exam, so sweet.

I went to foam in Amsterdam with my brother. He was here for an assignment for school. And I love cultural things so it was the perfect match!
