The distance does slow down our outfit blogging a bit. But we are back and extremely excited about this Outfit Post. Hope you like these two trends for summer.

Jasleen went overboard with the the B&W stripes trend

Horizontal, vertical, curved or chevron, stripes are back with a vengeance. Gifted with a timeless appeal and perennial style stripes were actually never out of the fashion radar for us.
This year, the black and white stripe is the ‘it’ stripe. The classic colour combination allows you to go bold and basic at the same time.
Use the stripes to your advantage. Elongate your torso with a vertical stripe blouse or slim down your bottom half with wide-stripe trousers.

Sonu is still stuck with the colour-block trend

While the raging trends are neon, back & white stripes and graphic prints, I’m still loving the colour-blocking this season.
It’s minimalistic, chic and effortless to blend different colours in an outfit. Pastels, neons and even nudes all are fresh options this summer. I chose a mix of pastels with jewel tones for a bright dewy day look.
Opt for darker hues to camouflage your problem areas. Pick blacks, maroons, greens and purples bottoms for a pear and hourglass shapes. Pastels, neons and nudes blouses for apples and banana shapes.

5 mistakes you make with your bra

We all know how wearing the right lingerie makes all the difference. We spoke to a bra fitting expert from Debenhams to give us some pointers on the common mistakes women make.

1. Getting habituated:

Most women wear the same bra in the same style from the same brand for years to come and get so used to it that even if it's not right for them they can't change out of it because it's a habit.

2. The wrong size:

The perpetual debate but as you grow older and your body changes, it is important to get yourself sized periodically to determine the right fit. Stores like Debenhams offer this service 365 days and free of cost.

3. As per outfit:

It's important to know that different outfits require different bras. While a full cup is ideal for everyday and work environment, you need a balcony bra for wider necks and plunge bras for a cocktail draws etc. Wearing it vice versa may cause an accidental spill and other issues.

4. Embarassment:

Most women refuse to get sized because they think they know their body best or are simply embarrassed to admit they've been wearing the wrong bra or size. The bra fitting expert is a professional and should be trusted.

5. Too tight too loose?

Some women just like their bras to be very tight and hold up their assets while others like a comfortable fit. However, there is something called the 'right fit' which is a mix of support and comfort, one needs to be open to experimenting and finding the right fit or taking professional advice.

Are you a fashion addict?

Moving into a new home has been eye-opening in many ways and especially fashion wise. Before you dismiss this rant as a shallow one, give it a fair chance. After moving not one not two but three full boxes of bags alone, it was clear that I had a problem. So from one fashion lover to another - 'when does fashion become an addiction?' is a pertinent question, one that I attempt to answer today.

5 top reasons I buy what I buy

I have to have this reason #5:

It's on sale: I've bought two sizes big, three sizes small and even clothes with a 'negligible' rip because it was on sale. My logical brain did a quick calculation on how this deal is simply criminal to let go of. Of course, I never lost those kilos or made it to the corner alteration tailor. Result: An entire box full of great 'deals' that have sadly never been worn.

I have to have this reason #4:

I won't find it anywhere else: I have this innate fear that if I don't buy that thing right away someone else will! And this prophecy of mine has turned out to be true one time or two but I realised that I just wanted to own the object for what it was even though sometimes I knew it won't flatter my body type or is not even my style.

I have to have this reason #3:

Because she has it: We all have that one arch enemy/ friend/ cousin who we secretly love to hate and if she has something that she looked great it then you have to have it too or do one better! When fashion becomes an ego battle, it is an expensive one.

I have to have this reason #2:

This is soooo 'in': It's just so tempting when you see that airbrushed picture perfect model or even just a real life hot chick sporting a latest trend you so want to wear but sadly don't look good in. I have given myself life lessons like 'thou shall not eat anything sweet', 'thou shall slog in the gym everyday' etc. just so I could buy that latest pair of sequinned shorts that god forbid anyone ever has to see me in.

I have to have this reason #1:

I deserve it: Rewarding myself for the smallest of successes (and sometimes to drown my sorrows) is the reason I shop on impulse, ruthlessly swiping my card and hard earned savings. I once joked with my friend on how we'd be the best dressed homeless people ever considering our lack of savings, a thought that's not so funny anymore.

While I still think dressing up everyday and looking your best is a celebration of life and will continue to do so, I might just go about it in a slightly less belligerent manner so the next time I open my wardrobe, my large leather tote doesn't fall straight on my head.

This season we are loving prints, especially florals and stripes. They're are perfect for the sunny afternoons and warm evenings. Today, we show you two ways to wear prints:

Sonu wore clashing prints with a statement bag

Fashion Bombay goes international

We are fighters, both of us and to us everything is an opportunity. Hence, when Sonu decided to get married and move to Oman, we could only think of good things that will come from this decision.

Many people asked (and some practically wished!) that this would be the end of us but we are so excited to share new things and beginnings with our lovely readers. With Jasleen also moving to a new home soon (in Bombay itself) and Sonu starting afresh in the Muscat city, we hope to bring you many pictures and ideas on home decor as well.

Fashion Bombay is also opening shop soon with some exciting limited edition accessories (only ten pieces per collection) that we have sourced from various cities of the world. This is again an effort to simply share the eager fashion eye we have when it comes to street shopping.

We love our high street brands to death but on the flip-side we know that the mass appeal and production means we will catch people wearing that same dress we own. We came away with five clear trends that you should be watching out for:

1.Vests:

They are making a comeback in a fun and colourful avatar. While jackets can easily become overwhelming (and warm in the Mumbai weather), vests can be used for layering without adding bulk. Button it up for a formal event or simply throw on over a maxi dress for colour and character.

2. Bling bottoms:

As we come closed to the year end, one always spots a sudden rise in sequinned clothes. This season the trend is clearly in favour of blingy bottoms in short scalloped shorts and tiny skirts. Sequins, rhinestones and embroideries must be kept in mind for bottom wear.

3. Detailing:

Keep your eyes open for little details like collars, fun printed linings in jackets and dresses and quirky buttons. This is what sets apart your basic white shirt or a solid blazer.

4. Statement pants:

This season has seen the most variation in pant styles we think. From wide leg palazzos to dhoti and harem styles, find one pair of statement pants at least to fit your body shape.

5. Eat fashionable:

Earlier cafes and books were a growing culture that has slowly extended to fashion as well. Looking good and feeling good about yourself go hand in hand hence eating right is the new way to stay fashionable.

One of the many exciting things about the Fall is that we get to experiment with different styles and trends. Top of our list was the sweatshirt trend, with tempting styles and prints from Kenzo to Givenchy to the more achievable pret brands like FCUK, Marks & Spencer and Zara.

How we wear it:

There’s nothing hotter than the boyish nonchalance of a sweatshirt paired with a billowy skirt (see here).
Contrary to common belief, sweatshirts are very slimming and look great with shorts, denims and palazzo bottoms.

This season brings so much fun and activity to every household. From wedding parties to dinner dates and club nights, the season offers so many occasions to dress up. We decided to use our time doing some fashion research for the ongoing party season. Here are some trends we spotted at FCUK and want to incorporate these elements in our wardrobe for the season.

Glitter

A girl can never have too much of shimmer and shine, especially on a fun party night. You can incorporate them in your dresses, shoes or accessories. If you don't want to overdo the trend, these belts are the perfect beginning.

Holiday cheer

We are feeling the love with this red splash at FCUK. Replace the LBD with red for a change and spread the joy. Red looks great on any shade of Indian skin and is a great way to make heads turn.

Perfumes

We were surprised to find some really amazing fragrances at the store ranging from sexy vanillas to elegant florals, ideal for the holiday season.

Neck details

Get comfy and carefree and give your neckpieces a rest for a while. This season brings with it some fancy neck details in sequins, pearls, embroideries and what not. Look for collar details, a pop of colour or texture.

The fierceness and sexiness of the texture can add the right amount of edge to your outfit. This season don't forget to mix this texture with sequinned shoes, shiny cocktail dresses and delicate fabrics.

We love accessories, especially new novel ones. Designers Mayank Anand and Shraddha Nigam sent over something really cool to us at Fashion Bombay. These new donut scarves can be worn 6 ways and while Sonu settled on the jacket style, Jasleen couldn't restrict herself to one for the photoshoot.

As the party season approaches, we thought we'll jot down a list of dresses that look good on all, irrespective of your body type. These dresses will help you cover problem areas and can come to your rescuse on all occasions.

The shift dress

A shift dress is a dress that doesn't add any definition to any body part like the waist or the bust. They usually have discreet necklines too. A dress like that is very simple to wear for any body type because it hides all problem areas. If you want to accentuate any body part you can use, belts, necklaces, brooches and blazers to do so. They are very easy to work with and can be dressed up or down at will.

The A-line dress

The A-line dress looks simple and elegant for all occasions and on all women. Add long links and high heels to appear slimmer or a shrug to balance the upper and lower body if you have a pear shaped body.

The wrap dress

The wrap dress hides the waist for apple shapes, adds curves to the banana body types and creates a feminine shape for the hour glass and pear shape bodies. You can choose from cottons, linens and jersey materials that are commonly used for wrap dresses.

The maxi dress
