I briefly wrote about emerging new label MASC a couple of months ago in a post about Selfridges' Bright Young Things but they definitely deserve a closer look. Founded just last year by Duncan Shaw and Billy Yick, the design duo took part in the final gala show at Graduate Fashion Week before being selected by Selfridges as one of the leading young design talents in the UK. It's a fact of fashion life that LFW is chaotic and shows will both run late and be oversubscribed. I hurried over to Somerset House from the Prose show over at VFS and was fortunate enough to have a hard copy, seated ticket. From what I hear, the queue/mob snaked around the corner and the PR had to put on a presentation after the show was over. The autumn/winter 2012 collection by Prose was an ode to texture, with shredded leather, fringing, rich velvet and fine cobweb knits making up the surprisingly wearable collection. A simple colour palette of autumnal shades including deep burgundy, black, terracotta and navy is the perfect canvas for the intricate craftmanship which went into each piece. As usual, it was a full house and the crowd witnessed the

London Fashion Week: Zoe Jordan AW12

Inspired by Andalucia, BFC/Elle Talent Launch Pad winner Zoe Jordan showed a collection of draped tweeds, thick knits and floaty satin in a collection which mixed masculine and feminine elements. The earthy, autumnal colour palette with burnt orange, charcoal, amber and burgundy tones had a boyish charm, with high waists, capes and shorts featuring heavily. A fashion week veteran, today marked Krystof Strozyna's ninth show and it was stunning. His signature simple lines and elegant tailoring in neutral shades made for a very high octane, passionate look. Inspired by Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, the collection juxtaposes tough leather panelling and exposed zips with soft, fluid chiffon for a structured yet soft look which walked the line between

The one where my hair goes pink...

There comes a time in her life when a girl decides she’s bored of saying “oh, just the usual” during a routine trip to the hairdressers. There’s nothing like a girly trip to Westfield. With all the favourites including Dune, Oasis, Miss Selfridge and New Look are in close proximity, Westies (as I like to call it) is a little piece of weatherproof shopping heaven. Along with the hundreds of shops, it’s also home to almost 50 restaurants, ideal for a post shopping refuel or a girl’s night out. Last week, I experienced the latter

Wednesday Wish List - What to wear to London Fashion Week

Apologies, this Wednesday Wish List post is a little tongue-in-cheek. Menswear Monday is a new semi-regular feature for all the style conscious men out there. There aren't very many menswear blogs out there and my interest in menswear is slowly growing, though I don't have enough free time or knowledge to start a menswear blog, I thought I'd feature pieces and collections which catch my eye on a Monday.
