As a plus sized girl, I know how difficult it can be to find the right outfit. Sometimes, I spend hours trying on clothes just to end up disappointed with the outcome. But, I discovered a few sneaky tricks that plus sized celebs use to look amazing on the red carpet. So, if you are a plus sized girl looking for ways to accentuate your killer curves, keep reading.

Tip #1: Don’t hide your body

One of the worst fashion mistakes I’ve made was to hide my body under a tarp. I thought that the looser and   baggier the clothes were, the thinner I would look, but I was wrong. Over sized clothing can make you seem bigger than what you are, and there is no need to hide that beautiful body of yours; flaunt it, girl. You have killer curves, so never hide them behind baggy, unstylish clothing.

  Tip #2: Play with proportions

Here’s a styling tip: if you are going to wear skinny jeans, pair them with a loose-fitting top. Loose-fitting doesn’t mean baggy, so don’t chose a top that’s 8 sizes larger. Doing this makes your legs look slimmer, and a slightly loose top hides any problem spots. Also, if you are going to wear loose pants, pair them with a tight-fitting top. It’s all about playing with proportion, and this tip can help you look taller, thinner and sophisticated.

Tip #3: Color is your friend

Whoever said plus sized girls can’t wear color must be hiding under a rock. The secret to wearing color is to choose bright colors like vibrant red, electric green and cobalt blue. Don’t be afraid of color because it can actually make you look leaner, and it shows that you love your body. You’re not going to a funeral every day, so why would you wear head-to-toe black every day?

Tip #4: Flaunt the good

Everybody has flaws. Even the skinniest girls in the world have flaws, but you don’t notice them because they know how to dress. Similarly, everybody has amazing assets. If your legs are amazing, flaunt them. If you have toned shoulders, don’t be afraid to show them.

Tip #5: Hide the bad

Like it was mentioned before, everybody has flaws, but the trick to looking awesome is to accentuate the good and hide the bad.

Tip #6: Find the right shapes

The trick to looking amazing is to find the best shape of clothing for your body. In my experience, I find that peplum plus size dresses for women work wonders for my body. Peplum dresses make my waist look inhumanly tiny, and they accentuate my curvier hips. The best way to find the right silhouette for your body is to try on as many shapes as possible, and once you find one you like, wear it. Trial and error is the key, and don’t worry, everybody has had a worst-dressed moment.
