What Milly Wore: Mary & Charnos Armery

Hi guys,

hope you're surviving the cold!

I was lucky enough to be sent a pair of Armery by Charnos to try,

as part of the Charnos Blogger Challenge.

I was asked to style my Armery any way I like

to go up against the other bloggers on facebook!

But what are Armery I hear you cry? (I swear I can hear a few of you!)

You may have heard of them if your a fan of Mary Portas & watched Mary queen of frocks,

if not they are quite a simple but ingenious concept.

They are basically tights, for arms!

If like me you are not a fan of your upper arms,

they do a great job of covering them,

whilst supporting and slightly holding you in.

Most importantly they do all of the above without adding bulk.

I was sent my Armery in Indigo, in a M/L which fit perfectly (I'm a 14)

I tried them on with all sorts of dresses that I normally don't wear without a cardigan,

and I can honestly say they are brilliant!

They look sleek and stylish

and most of all dont look like you are trying to cover up if you get what I mean!

They are really stretchy and opaque,

and go with almost everything.

Fashion Fix: Funky Bling Jewellery

Hey there readers,

A bit of a different post here today,

I thought I'd introduce you to a brand I have fallen in LOVE with

Funky Bling!

Through the joys of the internet I got in touch with the lovely lady behind Funky Bling

as I wanted to find where I could buy her jewelery online,

and the answer was you couldn't!

Funky Bling pieces have been spotted on some MAJOR celebs,

(including Nicki Minaj, Little Mix, Will.I.Am)

and I wanted to get my mitts on some.

To cut a long story short, we became friends,

and I helped her out with some web design,

and she now has a web shop www.funkybling.bigcartel.com

YAY

She makes amazing cuffs & necklaces, all made from laser cut acrylic

in various styles and colours, saying whatever you like!

The prices vary depending on how many Swarofski Crystals are added

( for me you can never have to many)

But prices start at around £55 for the smaller necklaces

up to around £160 for the fully 'blinged' custom cuffs.

I was kindly sent some pieces as payment for my work

and OMG I love them, I'm such a lucky girl :)

I got the Dream On Necklace

and a Fully Blinged Custom Cuff saying 'Milly'

I stuck with black and white so they would be easy to team

with anything in my wardrobe.

Can you tell I'm chuffed with them :D

The dream on necklace is the same one that Little Mix wore on the Xfactor,

except theirs said Little Mix obvs!

So yes,

This brand is about to hit the big time,

having been featured in many magazines including Vogue (swoon)

and the lovely lady behind it is beautiful and awesome too!

What Milly Wore: Purple Rain

Hi Guys,

hope you've all had a lovely week

and you're all getting used to the fact that it's nearly February and getting colder!

I was lucky enough to be contacted by Daxon

and asked if I would like to choose an item to feature on my blog.

Daxon are branching into Plus Sized clothing,

so I was interested to see what they had available.

As a size 14, I'm at that awkward size where I'm not quite plus size,

but a bit big for some shops!

But as someone from a family of *ahem* curvier ladies

I gladly took them up on their offer.

I chose the Suedette Quilted Jacket in Purple

When looking at their website it's easy to skim over and think that it's aimed at a more mature lady,

or that they are not very fashion forward,

but I really would no be so quick to write them off.

I really feel you can take staple pieces such as this jacket and add it to any wardrobe,

you can style up in your own way, give it your own twist if you will.

As I hope I've proved with this post.

The jacket is extremely good quality,

much better than you would find on much of the high street,

I was really impressed with the suedette fabric, it feels really soft and authentic

and I love the faux leather piping too.

It's so well made and is a joy to wear :)

As Daxon go from a size 14-36 I think it's a great place to try

if you are struggling to find great quality clothing

in your size.

Fashion Fix: Topshop's Take on the Furla Candy Bag

If you're anything like me,

you will have spotted the Furla Candy Bag everywhere last summer.

I loved them, kitsch plastic colourful bags

what's not to like!

I had looked into getting one, but with an RRP of £200 it wasn't meant to be

Well, Imagine my joy when this week I spotted these similar bags on Topshop.com

In a range of colours and shapes, topshop have really had a great go at the jelly bag trend.

This shape is so similar to the Candy Bag, that it would be rude not to get it!

Although I love the bright colours,

I'm also quite taken by this cream / nude style

They would all be great for SS12

Hey-lo there one and all,

Here is what I wore a couple of days ago :)

Aztec Navajo Print Blanket Duffle Coat - £60 Urban Outfitters (sale was £120)

eeeeeepp I love this coat,

I blogged about it a couple of months ago,

so when I saw it half price just after Christmas, I asked for it as my main present!

I really like the print, and the fur hood.

The only thing I would change is that it has no lining which annoys me slightly

but it doesn't stop my love for it!

Stripey Skull Vest - Crafted @ Republic

I've had this vest for a good year or so, and not worn it,

so in my attempt to vary my wardrobe and use everything I own I added it to my outfit

Black Lace trim vest top - Good Old M&S

I layered this vest underneath for warmth

and for modesty ;)

Brown Speckled / Fleck longline cardigan - Next

I'm loving all the speckled and flecked styles that are about at the moment

I'm sure I wore stuff with multi coloured flecks in as a kid,

and I think it brings out that feeling of nostalgia in me!

High Waisted skinny jeans - New Look

These are my go too jeans at the moment,

really appreciating anything high waisted.

Maddox Tan Leather Tapestry Satchel Bag - Fossil via TKMaxx £69.99 instead of £200

This bag is gorgeous,

I'd been after a good quality carpet / tapestry bag for a while

I came across this one in tkmaxx and couldn't resist.

Fossil are a really good brand,

and I love the pattern and styling of this bag.

Tan Leather lace-up boots - Pikolinos RRP £110

I got these boots last week to wear to work

and they are so so comfy, very good quality leather

and I like the slightly Victorian feel they have.

Wearing these boots and the bag together I felt a bit like Mary Poppins

I've been at work a lot this week, so I thought I'd post an outfit I wore a few days ago!

Burgundy chunky knit boyfriend cardigan - New Look (a good few months ago) £18 ish

This cardy is super warm and comfy,

and I really like the shawl style collar, it feels a little like a smoking jacket!

Black skull oversized t-shirt - Topshop 2 years ago £20 ish

This must be one of my most worn t-shirts,

I love the fit and length, and anything with skulls on is good with me.

Black turban - gift from a friend

My gbf was getting rid of some clothes

and this is one of the things I ended up being given

turbans are great for bad hair days and are so much more chic than a beanie.

Black and white polka dot skinny jeans - ASOS 1-2 years ago (sale) £15 ish

I've worn these on the blog before,

they're just so easy to wear with everything, a definite staple of my wardrobe.

Nude coloured slouchy Padlock bag - Marks & Spencer, 2 years or so ago £35

Such a great bag, not real leather but it doesn't bother me.

you would never guess its from m&s!

Dalmatian / Leopard print heart ankle boots - Deena & Ozzy via Urban Outfitters (sale) £30

I got these just after christmas and I adore them,

they have that fuzzy pony skin type finish which is really cool.

They are super comfy too, which I wasn't expecting.

Sarenza UK Ambassador Competition :)

My name is Milly, and I'm a shoe addict!

I've amassed well over 100 pairs over the last few years (working in retail clearly does not help)

and have regular clear outs of old worn styles to the charity shop.

I entered a Sarenza competition last year and made it to the final 15

So when I saw that Sarenza UK were looking for a new ambassador I jumped at the chance to enter.

You may be thinking 'she's got loads of shoes already'

which is probably true, (but we all know a girl can never have too many pairs)

and I'm pretty sure that qualifies me to be a brand ambassador,

I know what I like and what I'm looking for, good quality, real leather, uniquely designed & good service!

Anyway onto my chosen featured shoe, I present to you the
Cinadine boot by Feud @ Sarenza:

This is not just any boot this is a burgundy leather, lace up ankle boot.

They have not used any burgundy leather, they've used perfectly aged, burnished, textured leather.

*stops pretending I'm on an M&S advert*

But seriously, I love the colour, the brogue detailing, copper eyelets, worn in look

and they're practical as well as stylish *swoon*

I'd be like a small Victorian child in them,

they have that 'Oliver' styling too them,

It'll be hard to not go round saying

'ello guvna, fancy a shoe shine?!

(do they remind you of that too or is it just in my head)

At £136 they are a bit of an investment buy,

but they would be really easy to wear, with skinny jeans and a studded leather jacket

with an oversized t-shirt underneath!

What Milly Wore: Aztec Swan

Hi Folks,

So I've not really made a new year resolution persay,

but I am trying to get myself organised, by sorting through my room

and my wardrobes to get rid of what I don't wear

But also I am trying to make use of pieces that I love

but don't get use out of for some reason.

I'd like to vary my outfits more,

care less what others think of my style,

and experiment a bit!

Here is what I wore Yesterday:

Khaki Quilted Jacket: River Island (last year) £30 ish

I've had so much use out of this jacket but it is yet to be featured on the blog

as I usually wear it just with t-shirt and jeans.

It's kind of barbour esque which I love

Nude / Pale Pink Padlock Bag: M&S (last year) £39 ish

I'm not really an M&S kind of person

but I saw this bag in a magazine and just had to buy it!

and I haven't regretted it,

Its really unique spacious and well made, just wish it was leather!

Black Pearl Cardigan: New Look (sale last year) £9 ish

I never wear this cardigan,

purely because it annoys me that I cant do it up!

I do love the pearl detailings and buttons though.

Swan Digital Print Cropped Top: H&M £19.99

This is a fairly recent purchase that I've just not got round to wearing

I just think the swan is very mysterious looking,

and I love anything with a photographic or digital print

Aztec Bodycon Midi Skirt: River Island £20 this season

I bought this skirt on Tuesday,

I'd had my eye on it for a while, and decided at £20 it was worth it!

I really like the print, that it's high waisted and the midi length

It's amazing!

As always, actually need to buy a few more pairs!

I love the clashing prints,

They shouldnt go together but they somehow do!

I dyed my hair myself, after finding the prefect product thanks to Madame G over at

I used majicontrast in Copper

and then go over the top again every time I wash it

with a mixture of Orange Crazy Colour and conditioner,

just to keep it nice and bright!

I also got it cut recently and am really loving the way she did it!

nice to see you again!

Please excuse my lack of bloggingness,

Christmas retail, means not a lot of free time!

So I thought I'd do a little catch up kind of 'Things I Love' post for you :)

I'm loving:

Orange Hair -
Dyed my hair a lovely shade of copper/orange
and I love it, just wish it was as gorgeous and thick as this girls!

Neutral Eye-Make-Up -
Working a lot means I am really appreciating a 15 minute make-up routine,
including a neutral eye, not as nice as this one though!

Magnetic & Glitter Nail Varnish -
I got loads of magnetic nail varnish for Christmas and I'm loving experimenting with it,
also cant get enough of my Deborah Lippmann glitter polishes!

Pyjamas -
Snuggly Pyjamas ftw :) Got some gorgeous M&S ones.

Christmas Socks -
Whether it's just around the house or peeking over the top of my boots
I'm living in patterned Christmas socks right now.

Biker Boots -
I'm Milly and I'm addicted to biker boots
real leather of course and the more studs the better

Clashing Prints -
there are so many different kinds of prints I love right now,
galaxy, fairisle, aztec, navajo, floral, digital, graphic etc
and there is nothing I love more than wearing them all at once!

Rucksacks/Backpacks -
I got the ahmahzing Lazy Oaf Space rucksack for Christmas
and it seems to just go with everything!
I also appreciate that it doesn't fall off your shoulders all the time.

Diet Coke -
I love it, nuff said!

Clinique Chubby Sticks -
Part of my afore mentioned quick make-up look are my clinique chubby sticks,
I have 4 and they add a great pop of hydrating colour

Vintage Scarves -
Whether its tied to my bag, worn as a belt or just around my neck
I love to add a vintage scarf to my outfit, especially chain print ones.

Aztec Duffle Coat -
EEEPP I got this urban outfitters printed blanket duffle coat for Christmas
and I am never taking it off EVER

Snoods -
Chunky knitted snoods wrapped round tonnes of times
make me happy.

Skull Necklaces -
I was also lucky enough to get 2 different skull necklaces for Christmas
and I love wearing them with otherwise demure outfits ;)

Sleeping ZzZzZz -
I love to snooze, nap sleep etc
especially in the middle of the day with a cat by my side!

What Milly Wore: Birthday Cape

Today was my Birthday! Hazzzaaahhh I'm now 23 which feels very old!

but with a belt it seems to make them look much more coat like!

Today after 3 long years I graduated,

I had a lovely time,

it was a great but very tiring day!

To be honest I only really went to get a picture of me in a cap and gown

What Milly Wore: OnePiece - Jump In!

Hi Guys,

I've been lucky enough to be sent a OnePiece to review,

and since I received it..... I basically haven't taken it off!

Now I bet there are a few of us out there that are fans of

the Primarni onesies, but they pale in comparison to a OnePiece.

These are such good quality,

It's pretty much the most awesome thing I own!

It's just so so comfy!

I've been recovering from having my wisdom tooth out for a week

and I've just lived in this,

it's great for lounging around the house,

and even better for wearing to bed on cold nights!

It zips all the way up to the tip of the hood

(be warned friends find it amusing to zip you in!)

They do loads of different versions,

unisex ones, patterned ones etc

This particular style is their new Slim- Vera Velour,

which I think is a great twist on those velour tracksuits you see everyone in.

As for size I'm a 14, 5ft2

and in the Slim style I'm a medium,

In the unisex ones they are made pretty baggy

so I'd only need a Small

Also, its so snuggly and warm

I'm one of those people that is always cold,

so this is a complete godsend!

I cant say I'll be wearing it out the house

(actually ask me again once its's freezing, I just might)

Price wise, at £150 it's an investment,

it's not cheap but you can really feel the quality

and if you can afford it I reckon it would be a life saver in winter!

And it would be great as a christmas present

if you can convince a loved one to buy it for you!

200th post! What Milly Wore: Velvet Undergound

Hi guys,

Welcome to my 200th post! WOOT

It's great to reach another landmark,

I didn't really celebrate my last blog birthday

So I'll so a little happy dance about this instead!

Anyway, here is what I wore today :)

Bowler Hat: Accessorize sale around £9.00 (last winter)

I havnt worn this hat much,

but I do really like it,

especially now my hair is a bit longer,

it looks much better with hair peeking out of the front!

Pirate Gun Necklace: Disney Couture (pirates of the Caribbean collection)

This is a great small necklace for everyday wear

I cant get enough of disney couture.

Cant remember how much it was but I'm pretty sure it was in the sale!

Velvet & Lace Dress: Urban Oufitters £22 reduced from £45 (January sale)

I'd forgotten about this dress,

when it put it on this morning it still had it's tags on.

It's greating finding brand new things you already own when you don't have any money!

It was great for this indecisive weather as it is quite warm

Black Leggings: Primark £3

Sarenza: Pure British Style!

The ever so generous online shoe retailers Sarenza

are holding a competition from bloggers to win £800 worth of shoes!

If you want to enter yourself, take a look here

So I'd thought I'd give it a go, here's my entry!

The theme was 'Great British Style'

and you had to choose £800 worth of shoes from their website to review

that reflect the theme!

My first pick is

Womens Nike Dunk Trainers with Liberty Print £80.00

These trainers are right up my street!

Liberty was started in London in 1885

you cant get more British than that!

Their classic prints teamed up with this modern Nike design

really work well, collaborations at their best!
I'd wear these a-la Lily Allen, with a floral girly dress
clashing the prints!

Second I picked

Kikou T-bar Pumps by Mellow Yellow £93.50

I love this classic T-bar style,

they remind me of old fashioned school shoes,

the kind that in the 20's -50's and even later girls and boys would wear in summer!

I'm sure I've got a picture somewhere of my dad as a boy wearing something similar.

So very very cute and retro,

but with the added twist of gold studs!

I'd love to spot these with woolly grey tights and

some leather shorts, yes please!

Third

Melissa Vivienne Westwood Melissa Ultra girl £76.50

How can you talk about British style without mentioning the inimitable Vivienne Westwood

From her first real catwalk show in 1982 to present day

she is top of the pile when it comes to British designers

I love her collections with Melissa,

it makes her fabulous designs so much more accessible!

This cameo design is no exception.
I'd pair them with some black opaque tights and a cute velvet dress
a little bit Alice in Wonderlend with an edge.

Fourthly

Brown Lace Up Meg Grace Boots by Clarks £110.46

When I think of British shoe companys the first that Springs to mind is Clarks,

from school shoes from when we were little,

to the amazing fashion led designs they are coming up with now.

These Boots have a victorian / granny boot feel

(lace -up boots coming higher up the leg so ladies could

keep their ankles under wraps away from men!)

Tied in with the Brogue detailing they couldn't be any more British of they tried!

I'd put them with a pleated midi skirt, and a matching

brown leather bag.

In Fifth

Underground Round Black Leopard Creeper £123.25

Originally worn by Teddy boys in the 1950's

Creepers (or Brother creepers as they are sometimes known)

were then commandeered by the punks of the 70's

and now are a great symbol of British Alternative fashion.

These Leopard print creeper boots

by Underground England are as British as British could be!

These have got to be worn with Black skinnies

and perhaps a leopard print shirt, and a studded leather jacket.

Here in 6th

Leather 'Fresno' Loafers By le Mont St Michel £161.50

Leather Loafers always remind me of that 'Sloane Ranger' look

very 1980's, think Princess Diana, Prep Schools and Polo!

It's now become a British classic, great for this seasons 'Heritage' look

will never go out of fashion, and last you a lifetime!

I;d team these with some blue skinny jeans, and blue and white striped shirt

and a pashmina scarf.

Next Up

Divine Ballet Pumps by Shelleys £56.94

I know these are probably a bit too literal

but I could resist, they are so patriotic!

The Great British actress Audrey Hepburn is famous for always wearing ballet shoes,

and I have to agree with the idea, I cant walk in heels at all!

I love the colour scheme and the richness of the fabric,

add in the crown charm and it's all very regal.

As these are such a statement I'd wear these with cropped or rolled up jeans and a plain white t-shirt,

with a string of pearls and a royal blue cardigan.

Last but not least

Mangal By Eden Leather Chealsea Boots £93.50

Made as a type of riding boot

this style of boot was thought up by Queen Victoria's personal shoe designer.

It was a classic quintessential British shoe!

In the 1960's the style re-emerged and was adopted by the Mods and

dubbed a Chelsea boot after the place.

Often seen on the likes of the Beatles and the Kinks,

they Chelsea boot has never gone out of fashion since.

I'd love a pair, and would rock them with drainpipe jeans and a blazer

channelling their androgynous vibe!

And that's it,

this lovely lot come to a total of £795.65 phew!

Lust After: Bold Biker Boots

Hi Guys, It's that time of year again

when I start to obsess over boots,

yummy leather good quality boots

generally studded, and most of the time black

here are the best styles I've found this year:

Ash Trash Studded Biker Boots £295

These are pretty much the Ultimate biker book,

I wrote about them last year and I still wan't them

I cant pay that much for one item though!

Available in different finishes (Brown / black leather, gold / silver studs)

If you can afford it, go for it

they will last you an age!

Ash Tennessee Vintage Tan Leather Star Studded Biker Boots £310

I don't remember seeing this style from Ash last year

but they are gorgeous!

The star studs are just fab

and I love the vintage feel of them

(they come in tan or black too)

Ash Sugar Black Leather Studded Biker Boot £229

Similarly this style from Ash appears to be new

and I like it because it's a little less punky and chunky

and a bit more feminine and fashioney!

Carvela / Kurt Geiger Black Leather Smoke Tweed Boot £180

The boots are gorgeous!

I found these by Kurt Geiger, and although still expensive

they are quite a lot cheaper than the ones from Ash

I chose these because they are unique and different

I'm sure you wont find a similar pair anywhere else.

They are also a lot less harsh,

and would go really well with quilted and wax jackets

for a more countryside feel.

Bronx Black Suede Studded Biker Boot ASOS £75 (reduced from £115)

These boots from ASOS are a pretty good price

Black studs on Black suede with a zip detail down the middle

very fetishy!

Buffalo Studded Leather Boots from La Redoute £100 ish (reduced from £140)

I really like the different colours and finished of the studs on these

especially the rose gold!

These come in this lovely distressed Brown and an equally stunning Black

Armour Leather Biker Boots by Topshop £70

These are great if you're after a plain versatile black biker boot,

these would go with everything, from skinny jeans to leggings and lacey dresses

They are a pretty good price at £70 aswell.

Clarks Majorca Sun Black Plain Leather Biker Boots £89.99

These boots from Carks are a little bit chunkier and more solid

they look very well made and I'm betting from Clarks they would be comfy!

I really like the Faux Fur trim on them as an extra added detail.

Clarks Liquid Crystal Black Leather Buckled Biker Boots £120

I like the serious amount of buckles on these!

I love how Clarks haven't played it too safe

and have done something a little different.

At first I though with all the buckles and laces they would be fiddly to get in

but actually there is a simple zip on the inside so they are easily put on!

Ash Ralph Studded Lace-Up Biker Boot £229

These are somewhere between a biker boot and a worker / combat / military boot

I love the battered feel they've got

and the fact they are lace-up too.

The more you beat them up the better they would look.!

great to wear casually everyday.

Vintage America Barstool Leather Boot from Shoeaholics £29 reduced from £170

I love these boots and have tried to order them

but I got an email saying they were now out of stock in my size :(

What a bargain though, at £29 it would be stupid not to buy them!

Such good quality leather, and I just love the chain detail.

Kurt Geiger London Salem Gold Boots £190

Last but not least are these Gold beasts!

I couldn't not feature them, they are so bad they are good right :)

I love a bit of tackyness.

In all fairness these do come in your regular black or brown too

but I thought the gold was eyeblindingly amazing!

I'm sure you've all noticed the change in weather recently

and for me this has prompted much drooling over autumn winter clothes

This year I'm on a strict budget (well I shouldn't be spending anything really)

So I've been looking for some bargains,

and I've found loads that I would love to buy

(O.K so I HAVE bought some of them)

I've really been surprised at how great everything is!

I bought them in black and they are so so comfy

they also look a lot more expensive than they were!

Great for walking or mucking about in as it doesn't matter if they get trashed!

I bought this, and can see myself wearing it alot this autumn

Quite thin, very versatile, goes with anything!

Polka Dot Brown Tea Dress: Topshop (via the charity shop) £4.50

I spied this dress in the charity shop I volunteer in

and before I looked at the labels I thought it was topshop!

well it was, and I bought it,

Its a little on the small side in the boob department as its a 12

but I love it none the less.

Fairest of Them All Necklace: Disney Couture (gift from the boy a few years ago)

One of my fave necklaces,

very easy to wear, and has sentimental value

I got it for valentines day at least 3 or 4 years ago :)

Black Leggings: Primark £3

Seriously the best leggings ever

very high waisted and never fall down

I've been back and bought 2 more pairs since!

Tan Loafers: Office £50 ish

I wear these all the time, literally my go to shoes,

kinda expensive but so comfy and good quality leather

Leopard Print Bag: River Island (sale last year) £15

I love this bag,

I always feel a bit posh when I'm carrying it

I don't know why, it just looks expensive even though it wasn't

Lipstick: Either Mac Neon Orange, or Mac Morange

I wear them both regularly and they pretty much look the same!
