Seasons come and go as well as "it" colours But from time to time we are up for buying something that will last us several seasons or even years. We are looking for fail proof choice in colour. Luckily, there are several colours that provide us with the right choice.

True red
There are different shades of red and it is common to hear people say that red does not suit them. Wrong! You have to look for a shade that is yours and it can take time. But if you are up for playing it safe, there is a single one that suits absolutely everyone. Its called - true red. Something in between cool cherry red and warm orange red, plus it is really, really classic and those kind of statement pieces that never go out of style.

Perfect Purple
You would have to choose the hue that is neither lavender nor mauve. It is a colour of an eggplant or also called - the true purple. Don't go too heavy on this colour, one statement piece is enough. the simpler the cut, the easier it will be to accessorize it. And in the end piece of this colour will serve you for a very long time.

Mellow rose

Spring is finally coming and we are thinking about dresses at work. The ultimate classic shift dress from Jackie O is now every office gals must-have. Many people say it is the easiest dress that suits everyone. So, hearing these words at one point or another we consider a purchase, roam around shops, discover the fact that although it looks simple - is an extremely tricky piece, but still end up buying and hoping that at home it will fit better. It does look like an easy dress - straight cut, clean lines, but somehow is only good on slim bodies with no bust and great legs. The rest of us - we have to either search for cut variations, or know the tricks of accessorizing, to make it work.

Here is the simplest office shift and I will show how, to adjust it.

Hourglass

Even the most perfect body shape can't handle a shift. It eliminates the waist and makes you look shapeless. The only option there is to belt it. Any color any size or shape belt that fits your office environment and personal taste, but make sure it's done. Emphasize your X!!! As to the rest of the accessories - you can absolutely choose anything you like in any color you prefer, and don't forget the heels.

Apple Shape
Shift will hug your tummy like a stretch belt, so make sure the size you have is neither too tight not too big. Never choose jersey or cotton fabrics, say yes only to polyester or stretch wool. To hide heavy waist, you have to create diversion in the same area, aka adding chunky bangles. For more fun yet office-friendly look you can put bracelets on both hands. Do a color match and make sure there are no more accessories than that.

Boyish
Shape of shift dress will look too plain and loose on you. To give an extra definition and add curves, choose dress with V-shaped neckline or add slim tailored jacket. You can afford to go wild with color and pattern it will add extra curves. But make sure you choose appropriate accessories that will complement the jacket not contradict it and your office look is done.

Pear Shape
Straight cut of shift will only accentuate how much you have on the lower half. Try to bring all the focus up. Any color used should be added to the upper part of your body. Be it a scarf tied forming a V-neck or statement earrings, make sure they stand out. Keep your shoes as simple as possible. This dress can't handle you going funky on shoes.

Wide Shoulders
Avoid his dress like a plague. Sleeveless dress that is cut wide will hug and emphasize your shoulders. The only way to go is by adding a long sleek necklace that will draw all attention to the middle of your body not sides. You are probably gifted with fabulous legs. Choose show-stopping shoes then people will focus on the lower part of your body.

Plus size
Avoid it if you can, this dress removes any shape from all over your body. If you can't avoid it, accessorize with one pop piece that will steal the show and leave the dress as a background. Here I chose red glasses that will draw all attention to your face instead of the body. If using any other accessory pieces make sure they are as simple as possible (but not boring) and really few. With a maximum of a matching bag. Another problem of this dress, for plus size women, is uncovered arms. You can easily hide them by wearing 3/4 sleeve blouse under it.

Petite
Shift should look rather good on you as it does not have ruffles and details. Although when buying it, make sure it's not baggy. Here you want to draw all attention to upper half of the body optically elongating your silhouette. Choose earrings to make a statement and drop earrings are perfect in the office and at cocktails. Those should be rather prominent (no huge pieces) but very delicate, like your frame. Keep it a rule for other accessories as well.

Large bust
Shift with open arms and crew neckline is very bad for you. Although if you have one, don't throw it away. Make sure that you have size that skims rather than clings. Don't try to hide big bust by layering on it. Leave it clean and create a diversion. Choose over-sized and eye-catching handbag. It will draw all attention away from bust and make it appear smaller in comparison.

Small Bust
You are one of the few. This dress is perfect for you. If you still want to add up the volume at bust, put on a statement necklace, but make sure that it ends where your bust begins. You can always add a trendy cropped cardigan, if it gets colder.

It is fairly easy to make glam look with the classic neutrally colored under-the-knee length boot, but what to do if you are simply tired of matching those with dresses and looking usual? Take it easy, there are so many different type of boots that can still fully support your need of glam look.

The Ankle Boot
Let's start with don'ts - Capri pants, skirts or dresses that hit below the knee, especially if you have shapely calves.
Do remember to wear them with tights in a matching or skin color. Miniskirts in this situation is the best choice for glam look. Try to incorporate this seasons so trendy military trend using blazer and don't forget to add a pop of color to your outfit.

The Mid-Calf Boot

The most important thing here is to create one or two accents and keep the rest of your outfit as plain and simple as possible.

Jewelery
If you are not sure about lots of prints in your clothing, you can still go tribal with jewelery. You have to take into consideration only the cut of dress and nothing else. So here I will try to help choosing the right cut for different body types.

Pear Shaped or Bottom Heavy
The best way to balance out your top and bottom is to choose a dress that is tight on top and shows off your waist. The main part though is to get a dress that has a fuller skirt, hiding real size of your lower part. Keep your accessories classy and flirty but in same time very simple so they do not overpower that lovely, big skirt.

Plus Size
Yes, you are curvy, but it does not mean you can't be stylish. Thanx to Diane von Furstenberg we all have this awesome piece that suits any body type and especially curvy figure - a wrap dress. Besides that, showing some skin with lace detailing is very sexy. Try creating connection between lace and some of your accessories to complete the look and take main focus off your body.

Petite
Don't wear giant bows or puffed sleeves, that will make you look even smaller. Instead take something with fringe elements that only the owner of your body type can pull off still looking sleek and simple. Besides that, fringe tends to elongate the silhouette. Too Thin or Boyish
If your body is boyish, thin and does not have any curves, you have to add them up with textures. Here, all the big details like ruffles or layers, will be the right choice. If you think that your dress is already in far too bright and unusual colour, but you still do not want it to look too boring, then you can add some classic colours like black, red and beige. Here I will try to show main trends from runway Spring/Summer 2012 season collections. So you can sure choose which ones you like most and apply to your wardrobe to stay in style. As this is the right time start looking for them in shops, spring will come sooner than you expect.

Pleats/Cold shoulders/B&W
Pleats as well as B&W combination were very trendy all this year and in upcoming Spring/Summer 2012 season they are still popular. But they aren't as girly as before, the right word to describe newest B&W trend is - fierce, but still you have to keep it very feminine.
Another hot trend on runways are so called - cold shoulders, they give interesting new spin on your outfit and make it look so seductive.

Peplum/Orange/Boat neck
In Spring/Summer 2012 collections designers still really want you to wear orange though this colour has been on runways for already three seasons. If you do not like clothes of this colour, you can still manage to get accessories.
Peplum is now one of top trends on runways featured on dresses, skirts, and trousers. My personal favourite is peplum used on suits that adds a feminine touch to them. Though there is just one problem - they add volume to your hips. So if you consider it as your problem zone, better avoid peplums.
Other trend - boat neck is so on this season. For formal wear designers like to show more demure versions, though for casual this neckline can go as deep as you desire.

Bra tops/Sweet Sorbet
Get your tummy ready for spring season as it has to be perfect because cropped tops and bra tops are going to be big hit not only in casual wear but evening too. You can easily combine it with skirts or trousers - pick the one you like more.
Spring/Summer 2012 is about lovely bright sorbet colours that look so fresh and lively are now here. But the best thing is that we actually are allowed to put them in one outfit.

1920's/Teal meets turquoise/Fringe/Rounded shoulders
The runways for Spring/Summer 2012 collections were full of flapper-inspired pieces, fringed embellishments and drop waists. That means shapeless dresses with line drawn just around the hips are here to stay. If you happen to consider you waist a problem area this is the time to choose the most trendy dress you have ever had.
"Teal meets turquoise" colours are here to stay and look fabulous as we could see lots of underwater life on catwalk.
Designers didn't show fringe or rounded shoulders in every collection but it sure looked awesome where it was present. Problem with rounded shoulders is that they will look very well only on petite body as they make you appear bigger than you actually are.

Tribal,Animal,Bird Prints/Summer leather/Hotpants
So many tribal, animal, bird prints have been showing up everywhere on the runways, from New York to Milan. But what is even more trendy is to mix them up, as many designers did by putting several of them in one clothing item. So all you have to do is to add matching accessories to your own mix of prints or your favourite garment of already mixed ones.
Leather is a trend that somehow doesn't want to go away even in summer. Perfect for summer wear are leather shorts, skirts, dresses, vests or even dungarees.
Another one is hotpant trend that is really very popular with designers in Spring/Summer collections, they come in so many styles and colours that almost anyone can choose their favourite.

Floral Prints/Pastels
Spring/Summer collections are full of large prints, screaming colours, mixing many flower prints in entire outfit. Wear it big and bold and don't be afraid to go head-to-toe and the more screaming the colour is, the better. Though if you do not like to be noticed so much or simply have milder taste, some designers still offer flower prints in pastels, that is another trend of this season.
Pastels are definitely making a comeback for upcoming spring/summer 2012. Such colours as baby-pink, blue, and light yellow with materials silk and cotton look best when mixed together.

Sheer/Handbags/Matte Satin
Sheer has had a revival for Spring/Summer 2012 season and although it isn’t as daring as it used to be, is still very sexy and erotic. Sheer slinky fabrics, lace trimming, ruffles and revealing necklines and splits – all these will be really trendy.
Handbags we spotted were mostly medium-sized and in bright colours, though there are still quite a lot of clutches too. The top now is definitely a small handbag with one handle - sophisticated and sexy.
Matte satin is the top fabric to be elegant and edgy, that is why it's used in everything - dresses, jackets, blouses, trousers, shoes, with wide range of colours offered. So all you need to do is decide which one you like more.

One shoulder/White/Lace
One shoulder trend is here to stay and now not only in long dresses but everywhere with pleats, embroidery and crystals. It's a sexy laid back look and if you already have such a dress, accessorize and you are looking trendy.
The ever-pure, ethereal, total white is what designers offer us for Spring/Summer 2012. Even our accessories are white this season.
Lace was hot before and still is offered for spring, but if in previous seasons it was on every item now it is mostly on dresses. Designers offer total femininity by making an entire dress out of lace.

There is always one major colour that almost always stays in style - red, and this season it is not an exception. But this fall/winter season we got ourselves some really great choices that are a bit less traditional but absolutely gorgeous. Some of them shifted from last season and are here to stay for a while, some are new and some even came from 80's.

Greige/Nude/Taupe
Those three are top colours that started their way last winter but are still here now. Seems that most popular right now is taupe, that you can use matte or glittery and you will still be top fashionable. Of course they are great for free time but what is even better - you can easily wear them to work, as they happen to be perfect fit even for suits. Those colours are as neutral as it can get and to keep it classy, all you need are matching accessories.

Icy Blues
This was the most unexpected trend of last winter, but it is so awesome, that I still see people loving and keeping it. Was great to wear it last year while meeting friends or going to parties, but now the top thing is to match it with an evening wear and make an ice-queen look. It truly freshens up any dark dress and looks gorgeous when pairing it with light accessories and it sure will set you apart from the crowd.

New Super Dark
Super darks came this season from last as well but palette has changed. While plum still stays top, newcomers are green and blue. Get ready to stock for those. Though still the same as last season you can pick almost any colour you like and find darkest hue of it - the darker, the better. Classic trend for darks is to pair them up with long casual dress and so trendy now - ankle boots. This is IT look and so versatile that you can't get it wrong.

Glittery Metallics
Shine and glitter nail polish from 80's is here to stay at least till new year. And why not? This winter season you are allowed to shine as much as you want or can. As well you are still allowed to mix up metals, why not to use this trend while it's here? Pairing up different metallics in your accessories will make you look very festive. The main thing here is to use them wise and choose your party wear as simple as possible. After all it is the best New Year party look.

Over-the-knee boots - fabulous and fashionable. Here I offer some combinations that you can easily try out yourself with pretty much any wardrobe item we have at home. As well some hints how to wear them right.

Shorts

It is quite hard to actually pull off "shorts with over-the-knee boots" look, without looking absolutely inappropriate, but I can assure it's not impossible. The trick is to choose a pair of tweed or heavy fabric shorts. But the most important here is not to forget to have a pair of tights e.g. not showing too much skin below waist is real key to look stylish. Add print jumper and bag, take your favourite sunglasses and you are good to go.

Dress

Over-the-knee boots are simply perfect for all kinds of dresses. Mostly people wear them with short knitted tunic, but there is another even more exciting way. Choose longer dress with slit skirt, so you will be able to show off your long boots just a little, but definitely enough to notice them. Accessorize with large bag and nice hat for autumn day walk, and that will give you that unforgettable unique but in same time comfy and warm look.

Skinny Jeans

All of us who can afford to wear skinny jeans should definitely try this look, there are so many variations and styles - from casual to dressy - that are possible with top, skinny jeans and over-the-knee boots. Here I offer a very simple look, with boots that are in a bit brighter colour but can still work perfect. Add matching bag and top the outfit with blazer, just be careful to choose bold, preferably dark colour to make sure that it does not make you look too colourful as boots here give us all we need.

Short Skirts

This sure is a sexy party look, that requires yet again - tights. Darker or lighter ones, it's up to you, the most important thing is that they are present. Otherwise you can try any mini with your over-the-knee boots and look fabulous. Choose boots with an interesting detail, that you can easily combine with the rest of your outfit. And again same important rule - keep it clean, too many colours is too much here.

Season of celebrations is approaching and we are starting to look for outfits for Christmas or NewYear events. And it is even more difficult when we try to think of colour and style we want to choose for parties. That is why I will be giving here examples of many outfits and styles we can wear choosing colours, fabrics or prints we like the most and are easy to find in shops or even in our own wardrobe.

Earth tones. Those are normally considered not very festive-friendly but that is very unjustified view. Even simplest dress in brown colour can look awesome at New Years party if you wear it with edgy pumps. Accessorize yourself in same colours adding just a hint of gold and you will be good to go.

Liking purple. I know many people who adore this colour, but simply do not know how to wear it for parties. In fact it's easier than it looks. All you need is to buy right cut dress that will flatter your body type. The trick here is - the more classic the cut will be - the easier it is to accessorize.

Animal print fans. We know that those look sexy and stylish, but choosing just an animal print dress is getting more and more boring. To make it interesting and still stay faithful to animal prints all you have to do is choose any black dress, wear shoes and bag in our beloved print and we are getting new, fresh spin on it.

Beach wave. If you do not want to associate winter holidays with cold weather or you are celebrating them somewhere warm, don't forget lovely one-shoulder dress in light playful colour. Add accessories in ocean colours and make yourself looking absolutely stunning.

Shiny classic. Winter celebrations are best times when you can have a really shiny outfit and do not have "too much and too heavy" look. Sure you can pick all your favourite accessories with shiny stones on them, but then keep your dress sexy and simple.

Bohemian look. All you need is really interesting and unusual dress in colour of your choice that you can accessorize with same style earrings. Give festive touch with classic silver shoes and clutch.

Embroidered dress. It is easy to come by dress that already looks very festive because of its embroidery, but there is a question how bold or even dull should be our accessories in order not to overpower it? In fact they shouldn't be dull at all. Keep your shoes simple and preferably in same shades that are used in your dress. With this combination you can even make fun statement with your clutch and still look great.

Chiffon dress. Nice and flowing but still very much appropriate for winter celebrations. Choose shoes that complement dress in any way - colour, style, fabric or preferably all together. To make it more interesting add contrasting colour bag, some simple accessory and let your hair loose, that is all this dress needs.

My friend told me, that whenever she needs to go somewhere not extremely formal, but still requires suit, she is stuck with a very unpleasant choice to wear - black or grey. Same happens, when she goes to buy new one - still has no better idea than those colours. Business attire is very important and those colours are a real classic, but sometimes, you don't have to dress that formal, so what to do if you do not want to go really casual but in same time want to have a bit of colour? Here I will try to show some appropriate combinations with colour that stay long in fashion and are not that ordinary and dull.

Fruits

Peach, this colour is quite unpopular but it looks really great, and makes you look superfresh. It is always considered very feminine and many think that this is mainly a dress colour. Not true - there can be a really great trouser suits, and if you add appropriate business like bag and boot-shoes and top it up with those awesome long forgotten accessories like gloves, your statement will be pretty clear.

Orange is colour of strength and with right shade of it, your look can really be noticed. It seems much more fresh than brown, but does not appear being too much. Accessorizing it should not take long at all, as many brown shades will be just perfect for it. Choosing orange accessories will brighten suit of every colour.

Greens

Green - very underestimated. There are really little design in green for women suits, but whenever designer creates - then it is sure to be something original. That is why your accessories should be original or at least in same style as suit. Don't be afraid to mix up different shades of green, it will only enrich the outfit.

Olive - colour that can be worn by only those who can handle it. Very moderate and even "calm" colour. That is why accessories should be simple. Don't forget to accessorize it with something interesting like umbrella, to emphasize how unique your style is.

Brown

Brown? Maybe try touch of copper for a little change. Think through your accessories on hand and you will definitely find something at home that will suit here, especially if you already have brown suit in your wardrobe. Any shade of brown will do here, and every accessory will make it look different.

Another option in this range is beige that is very bold colour. Try picking suit with eye-catching but not too screaming details. Here you can pick a bit old-school pieces that will make it much more interesting. But in general almost any colour accessories added to beige suit will create The look.

Blue

Opting for dark blue is always safe, but why not to try different shades of blue that look as good as dark? Or simply a bit more bright blue, that you can easily pair with nice boot-shoes and really almost any bag. Add stylish and small hat that suits your suit style and you have yourself something to show.

Yet another classic but unfortunately forgotten colour - turquoise. It makes you look light but in the same time very much together, fresh and ready for business. Do not overpower your suit with far too many colours in your accessories, and it will make your look complete.

Winter celebration season is approaching and we may need the help of LBD. Little black dress has always been one of the most important things in any womans wardrobe. But as restricted as the name of it may sound, we are still able to choose style that suits our personality most and accessorize it the way we want. The most important is to make our look precise so we make right statement and others see us exactly the way we expected. Pick any feel you like as long as it is you:

Romantic - this is the right time and place to use lace. It creates romantic feel and makes you superfeminine. You can even add very classic looking but lace shoes that will emphasise the idea of your look. Accessory should complete your lace-romantic statement. Choose a soft and gentle clutch for a finishing touch.

Classic - absolutely doesn't have to mean boring. You can play up with some colours that are less popular than gold or silver, go for bronze for a change and you will get a pleasant surprise. Take accessory that makes connection between dress and clutch colour-wise and style-wise. Try matching pumps with clutch, that will add complete and finished touch to whole outfit but not make it too stiff.

Sexy - it's tricky. The main point here is not to over-do it with screaming sexuality. Make it playful and interesting instead. Pick curve-hugging dress and add bright heel sandals. Try choosing clutch that is feminine and interesting. Pick accessories as simple and bold as possible. Make sure that you emphasize sexuality of your body not your accessories and it will seal the deal.

Boho chic - bored of good old classics or in mood being playful with your look, then it is time to choose something less ordinary. To achieve that, you will need to have a really interesting cut dress. Add shoes that look on one hand classic and on the other hand edgy to complement the dress. For final touch all you need is simple clutch and thought through accessory that makes outfit look complete.

fast transition from work to evening

We all have had situations when we go to work and know that we have an appointment for dinner or other important event to attend and we have all this wardrobe full of great dresses and outfits, though what we do not have is time to go home and change. So we either go to dinner looking like we were at work or carry our evening outfit to work with us already in the morning looking like a nomad. Or there is even easier way! We can very easily transform our work outfit to an evening one without anyone noticing and us not carrying all those things around.

This time I will try to take different dress types as we all have different jobs and occasions and transform them just a little:

- Take dress in bold, very simple colour that is easy to accessorize and easy to transform. Add a jacket for work for a business-like look and take it off for evening. Choose small bag and accessory/ies that fit the occasion and you are good to go.

- We don't even need to change shoes! Of course you can take a spare pair to work, but do you really need to do it? Choose heels that fit almost any occasion and it will make everything much easier for you.

- The key here is to change accessories. Even if you change small earrings to a big evening ones, your look will change too. Or you put on really nice and stylish cocktail ring. Really up to you how it is done but this simple thing really works!

- What are those little cute clutch bags for? They are meant to fit in our regular size work bag with no problem, when we take them to work in the morning. So when the workday is over, we can easily leave our work bag at work, re-pack all necessities to clutch and pick up work bag next time we are in office.

Playing with colour

There are times when we buy really great dress, it looks great on hanger in shop and it looks even better when we try on. Of course we buy but then we come home and spot just one single problem - how to wear it? Here I have some brief and simple colour suggestions, maybe it will come in handy exactly for you.

Those silver and shiny dresses in shops. They look so nice and they make you feel really great, but most people think that there is very limited choice in accessorizing them. No! You can easily pair up with silver or gold accessories, they both will look awesome. And there is one untraditional way to accessorize - choose really bright colours for shoes and bag, something in 70's style, it will give dress that very unique and interesting touch that turn heads.

Lovely beige dresses. They are so feminine and gentle and easy to accessorize. But sometimes you simply want something more edgy. Don't throw it away as impossible. Just take any colourful accessories you have in same colour. They don't even have to be in very bright colours, all you have to do is to make contrast. Dress as gentle base will do miracles and make you look fierce.

Spin on a good girl dress. There are those very nice and interesting dresses, that look fashion forward but "oh the colour!". Very often they are made in very dull shades, but there is nothing we can't do about it. I chose this dress because it is extremely interesting itself, so if u accessorize it with colour, do with lot's of it. Here you can easily use as many as desired, and it will make outfit even better. This dress can handle it.

Very bright colours that some classic dresses are made of. That sometimes can be a real problem. Of course it depends on occasion where you go, but mostly it will be a formal one. No need to worry you can still make it interesting. Main thing is to choose accessories in bright shades, while choosing colour very classic and neutral.

Plaid and Tartan

Pictures in magazines look really breathtaking and make us want to buy. But in real how do we wear them in everyday life and don't look too old-school or awkward? Plaid or Tartan or whatever you choose is very tricky pattern, but I will try to come up with some basic rules how to wear it.

I know many people who just love plaid trousers, but to actually wear them AND look really good you must have slim or skinny legs and small bottom, otherwise your lower part will end up looking much bigger than it is in real. So if u happen to have bulky legs - avoid plaid trousers, choose skirt. If you do not have preference in type of clothing you want, buy plaid things only for body parts where your figure is in best shape possible.

Plaid coat has always been one of the best choices you can ever make. It looks stylish and sophisticated or romantic and playful, just accessorize it the way you feel and you are sure to look brand new every day. As well there is a very big bonus - it always emphasizes only best features of your body and tends to hide what u want to, just choose right cut.

Never mix up plaid with plaid. Wearing too much of it by matching plaid tops with bottoms will make you look distasteful in best case and up to avoidable in worst. If you happen to have many pieces at home and you really love them all, either wear one at a time or mix up just accessories and choose them in very similar or same plaid patterns if possible.

Plaid as option for evening. Quite possible. All you have to do is to find style and pattern that best matches the occasion and your body type. There is one very important rule abt plaid when you buy it. If u are petit, do not choose bright and bold, better go for smaller patterns and more neutral colors. And vice versa, if you are not petite at all - choose bigger pattern and bolder plaids.

simple and classic - white blouse

We all have it in our wardrobe, but what can we do with white blouse? At max we wear it to work pairing up with black or other similar colour skirt, and then try to forget about it as soon as we take it off. Here I give some ideas what else we can do.

Let's take the most classic, the most simple one, that u can find in really any shop and think of some occasions we can use it for.

Of course work! But do we need to be boring wearing just B&W? No! Any colour will suit here, choose whichever you want, you will still be classy with white blouse. It does not have to be skirt or trousers, make it more interesting with those trendy all-in-one pieces they have everywhere now. They are great as eveningwear but if you add white blouse, its perfect outfit for work.

Shopping with gals? White blouse? Why not! Wear cute shorts and add more colours with your comfy boots and some edgy accessory that will steal looks and you are good to hit shopping centre. It is easy to make and it feels fresh.

Long walks or picnic planned. Replace simple top with white blouse. Just add trousers, flats and glasses and you are ready to go. Here you have endless variations of footwear, trousers, and accessories, just choose the most comfortable combination and blouse will give you that bit of special feel even when you simply take a walk.

Cocktail hour with your girlfriends? You know - it's good there too! Pair up with evening skirt and heels and you will be the most fabulous there. Plus it adds a bit of info - even if just left office, don't I look gorgeous anyway?

Making Statement

There are times when we need to make statement, or we feel we need to do it. So we take out our most impressive dress or at least the one we think fits the profile. 4 ways to make right statement not overdoing it. As examples I will try to take dresses for different occasions.

1) Red - lighten up with colour

We all know red can be really hot for evening. Though we never think that sometimes sexy heaviness that deep reds offer is far too much for us to handle. If you do not need to show off how mature vamp-of-a-woman you are, think of adding some light pop of colours that will take heaviness off and add a bit more life.

If you have dress in a bit lighter more playful colour of red - be brave - add gold. In this case multiple colours will still be great as well, but if you are not afraid to show it off, gold is always an option. Though here you must be careful to choose accessories in same hue of gold and keep them all very matching. It's classic of glam after all!

2) Think of right prints

If your dress has prints, it is perfect time to take closer look at them. You will make great statement pairing up accessory or shoe or bag with same print that you have on dress. Key here is to know when to stop.

Though there is other, very special case of prints. Flower prints. In most cases they are already an accessory of a dress and statement in the same time. Here all you have to do is keep accessories as simple and as complementing as possible.

3) It is fine not to mix up colours

Statement can be made by making it all as simple as possible. Taking bold dress and pairing it up with same or very similar colour accessories, can make as great statement as any other outfit. Key here - accessorize simple but interesting.

As well with same colour outfit you can create a fabulous classy look, that everyone will love. Using dark colors will give u that perfect advantage at any work event, giving u mature and tasteful look that bosses and colleagues will appreciate.

4) It's all about texture

When you have dress that has quite a simple print but very interesting texture, you will want to emphasize exactly that. Think textures that complement each other. Choose accessories that make textures match and support dress not contrast with it and perfect statement look will come together.

Even if textured dress at first glance does not look like statement one, do not throw it away. They have this perfect quality of Cinderella to change in a second with right accessories. All you need is just be supportive: time wise - as it can take a while to accessorize it right, colour wise - preferably choose just one that looks most impressive or one u like the most and stick to it, and texture wise - try to complement texture of dress as much as u can. The result will definitely pay off your time and suffering.

Ankle boots situation

There are so many great ankle boots around in shops. They look great and you can find almost every colour and style. But there is only one problem - the cutest ones have the highest heels as well. Far not every woman will dare to strut in them all day. This is the fact that make those cute boots a total party wear. Paring with trousers is easy, the challenge comes when you want to wear them with dress.

Here I picked 4 quite different pairs and tried to "upgrade" them. So again some colour and style suggestions from me :)

A laid back, sexy look. These boots are hot just alone, so it is important not to exaggerate with dress in order not to overpower them. That's why I chose gray dress that is kinda hot but simple in same time. The key here is to find accessories that will match boots. Keep it simple with clutch, but add one sleek, long earring to complement hot boots and light fabric of dress.

Fabulous and trendy. These boots alone is already an outfit. All we need is to keep it classy and as simple as possible. At max can add one more accessory in same colour so it does not trash up the look.

What's great about ankle boots is that we can create a totally vintage look with dress. All You need to do is to keep up with same style and colours that complement each other. You can even get old dress from your mom and pair it up with lace-up ankle boots, add some accessories and you are looking absolutely unique.

Fashion forward and interesting. These are ankle boots that look best with trousers, but we are women and have our own cravings for dress now and again. With these kind of boots we need a dress design that stands out. Another trick to make it fashionable is try and pair up with "not very good together" colours like blue and brown (for example) and u can sometimes get quite surprising result.

Difficult dress

Guess I will start with suggestions that I made to my friends who encouraged me to publish this.

Here I have four dresses from my friends, quite simple ones. Maybe designer wasn't visited by his favourite muse, or simply not my friends style, but it is still a creation and it still stays a gift and it is still hanging there in wardrobe untouched. Can of course wear it for every day somewhere, but kinda too expensive as well, so i tried to create/suggest party or just special occasion look that would be less boring than simply adding black shoes to all of them.

This is a very bright dress but in the same time my wish is still to add some more colour to it. Just black is boring and far too formal, so why not try dark blue for a change? And to top it up with white/gold bag to lighten up the look.

This simple cut and shiny texture adds word "festive" to all look immediately. The most important is not to make it "too festive" and look like christmas tree in march. That is why for this dress I chose very simple fabric and colour bag and shoes, that brings maturity to whole look, and sparkly cocktail ring - to remind ourselves that we are still going to party.

This dress itself reminded me of snake - sleek and sexy. It already looks like a party dress, but here u have two choices:
1)add nice black accessories and go for absolutely classy look;
2)"funky it up" with matching shoes, interesting jewellery, and bag that stands out. The key here is not to over-do with accessories and find them in similar hues to ones used in dress itself.

This dress could be called either classy or boring - u pick. To add a bit of colour here is simply a necessity. Sure yellow could be fun but if you don't want to use too bright colors or just want to look very feminine, then a simple pinky touch will definitely give this dress some freshness.
