I think this is the summer of the crop top or bikini top and I am fully embracing it. To really get in the mood I swung by my favorite place to think, Little Dry Creek. All the lovely bridges along the way really add a quaint feel. If you can believe it my nephew and I went tubing in this creek. You can imagine how that turned out. It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work due to all the rocks. It was just some spontaneous moment we had and we decided it was a good idea at the time. We don't like to think about things too long or then we will lose the momentum we need to do the activity. You have to use the energy you have at the time to do what you want and that is how I live my life. I live right in the moment.

Scalloped Bikini

When it's 97 degrees the clothing options start to dwindle so what you are left with is a scalloped bikini top, high waisted denim shorts, and platform sandals. To make it a little more daytime appropriate I added a chiffon cover up, long gold necklace, and a cool r ing. Throw on your sunglasses and bask in the heat. I never met a star or starfish I didn't like. That was just the case when I came across this starfish print silk tee that just screams summer. It reminds me of snorkeling down in St. Thomas and seeing hundreds of starfish down below. It was quite the sight. I wanted to keep the spotlight on the top so I dressed it up with silk pleated shorts that are cut higher on the sides and in the back. The sandals seemed to be perfect for this ensemble due to the strappy detailing and perforated suede. The only bold thing I did to make this look stand out even more was add a yellow bag. The color combo of black, white, and yellow has always appealed to me. I love brighter colors in small doses so I look for accessories that will accentuate my usual black and white outfits.

Construction sites beckon me. It must be something about their messy nature. Maybe it is the ultimate contrast with patent mary jane pumps. I am not sure. All I know is when I see a construction site I have to shoot in front of it. There were a few people taking a smoking break nearby, but I am used to people looking at me a little funny. It comes with the job description and few understand what I do exactly. Even my closet family members sometimes wonder about me. It doesn't matter though. What does matter is that I am wearing yet another crop top and flare skirt. I tried to make it more girly and feminine with the floral silk blouse. Here's to hoping this construction site lasts all summer long for perfect photo opportunities.

Nothing makes a floral print stand out more than wearing it against an all black ensemble. I opened up this shirt to wear it as a jacket over a cropped cami and flared skirt.
