J. Mendel #Wins Fall RTW 2012

J. Mendel has won my favorite designer for Fall Ready to wear 2012, and here are some of my favorite designs by the man himself, Gilles Mendel.
One I love the all-white look, and the structured coat/overlay on the dress is beautiful, makes me want to purchase it in the fall, and wear it all winter long! (winter white)
Two I love this long black dress, the embellishments and the sheer quality of the fabric is beautiful. It reminds me of the ballet a la the Black Swan.
Three I love the dropped v-neck that is so extreme, but aside from that the dress is so lady-like. It just updates an older look beautifully, and it looks amazing with tights.
Four I love the cutout going down the front of this dress, and if this collection is anything to judge by, cutouts are still going to be huge maneuvering into fall.
Five This dress again is a major fashion statement with the cutouts. But it combines what I love from dress two: the structure, and what I love from dress four: the cut out. Such a lovely dress.
Six I love the nude color of this look, along with the pleated skirt which is obviously another trend to look out for come fall!
Seven This may be one of my favorite looks, it is nude again, but the detailing around the bust and the draping of the fabric I absolutely adore.
Eight I don't generally go for color, but this dress looks absolutely amazing on the model, and even though I don't generally wear yellow, I just want to run back stage and try this one on myself!

I want another piercing.

I love piercings. I find them really attractive on men, to be quite honest, and I have a few of my own (five). I have my first and second holes on both ears, and my midway on my left ear. I would really love to get my right cartilage done, but I have to wait until the cheerleading season is over because I am required to take out my piercings for games. But, in March/April, when our teams our done with states, etc. I will be hightailing it to the mall to punch another hole into my skin, and I am very excited for that.

Piercings are a tricky subject though. When you end up with a lot of them, they can end up looking really trashy, and well, not good. But, at the same time, they can also look very good, depending on how they are worn. I would like to think that I wear them well. Some looks I love:

My favorite part of fashion week is not necessarily the shows, but it is the street style that we are able to see. Sometimes the shows are a bit much, and the clothes are a tad obscene. But, that is fashion, primarily a fantasy world of large indulgence, large price tags, and skinny people. Here are some of my favorite looks thus far in New York Fashion Week. All of them are from style and the city except for the first one, which I just adore because she is wearing Beats by Dr. Dre. Which, I know as I own them myself, are criticized by a lot of people when women wear them (from my experience) yet, they are the best headphones I own, and I love listening to music and I like good quality, I love seeing women with beats.

Also, the lighting has been very poor lately, so I have not been able to take pictures of my new Louis Vuitton, as I want to get good lighting! I promise that it should be up within the week though. It's a lovely bag, and I'm so happy I was able to get it as they are not made anymore.

Wow, I love this. Hermes scarves as art, framed and everything. They would, possibly, cost less than a painting. And the best part, if your outfit is a bit drab, you can take the scarf right off the wall to wear! But, in all honestly, this is such a lovely idea, I'm most likely going to do something like this in my future home when I'm old and can afford anything my hear desires.

I would also like to apologize for the lack of update within the past couple of days. I have been super busy and have not had a lot of time. I'm also working on a new project for the blog, which I know all of you will be really excited about, and it should be up within the next week or so! Also, my purse is coming tomorrow and I'm very excited!! Expect pictures and a review of the fabulous seller who I've used for all my vintage bags.

I Just Wanna Get Away

I really am in desperate need of a vacation, everything in my life piled up, I just need to get away from it all for a week. The next vacation I have planned is in a couple months, but I am very looking forward to being away from my life for a week or so. It will be a lovely break that I defiantly need.

Also, I decided to buy the Blue Epi Speedy! I am super-excited and purchasing it from the seller today!

In my room, under my dresser I have an old vase that I use to store all my coins that I collect over time. When it gets about full, I take it to the bank and put it through that fun machine that counts it all out. Then, I generally put it in my account. I usually put the money I get in my account. A great misconception of those of us who like fashion or like to shop is that we can't keep money in our pockets. That is not always the case. But, right now I am almost completely committed to buying this bag, I think I really need it in my life. It's from a wonderful seller who I've used multiple times in order to buy the speedy in the picture above, and my first Chanel bag. I haven't gotten a new purse in over a year. Blue is one of my favorite colors, and I deserve it right? Right.

Spring Trends. Lace.

After seeing pictures of Miroslava Duma in the UAE in a beautiful lace dress, I was inspired to comment on my blog the fact that lace is a huge trend for spring. I'm excited for lace shorts and dresses. So lovely!

Saturday Shopping Haul.

If you get my tweets, you'll know that I was shopping Saturday and there was an amazing sale at H&M. I actually bought a lot on Saturday, finally, I found what I wanted. I haven't bought much in the past months because I haven't found much. Then, ta-da!, Saturday I managed to find a lot of things I wanted. Here's what I bought:

First, I went to Ulta and got some Orly nail polishes on sale. (Ancient Jade & Basket Case) I also got the new Naked 2 Pallet. I love the first one and use it everyday. I can't wait to use both of them together. I also picked up some new Oscar Blandi Dry shampoo, but didn't take pictures of it (boring!).

Next, I went to Forever 21, got a few accessories, a cardigan, and a puffer vest.

Then, I went to H&M where I got a coat very similar to one I had been lusting over for a long time for, get this, $20! Then, the entire sale section was buy one get one free, so I got a free wrap dress. (The picture of the coat is a little off, It looks much better in full-view, but I wasn't able to capture that with my camera).

Finally, I went to DSW, where I got a pair of perfect suede heels to wear with the wrap dress at an event next month, and a pair of grey suede boots.

Such a successful shopping trip!

There are many celebrities to follow in our media-driven society. It is easy to find people to want to follow or emulate. This can also be slightly problematic, almost anyone can become semi-famous nowadays. In fact, bloggers, youtube "gurus" etc. are a breading ground for young girls wrapped up in the idea of fame.
But, aside from the bad role-models there are also many good ones out there for young girls. One of my favorite recent it-girls, who is a Victoria's Secret model whose break-out role in one of the Transformers movies brought her to light, is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Signature Fragrance. Bond No 9's Hamptons.

I have always loved the scents provided by the lovely Bond No. 9, the only problem being that they are extremely expensive. Much more expensive than any perfume you can imagine (okay, maybe not) but still, much more than I'd spend on a perfume. About a year ago, I bought a small size of their Chelsea Flowers and received maybe five samples with it. My favorite was Hamptons, which I recently received the full size as a gift.

My favorite thing about Bond No. 9's fragrances is that they are all so original, and in addition, they all smell different on the skin. Therefore, they all smell slightly different on everybody who wears them.

I am thinking about reviewing Bond No. 9's insider club, is anybody interested in that? I'll probably do updates, when samples are sent, etc.

I love this trend, really, I do. I just could never justify buying a pair of brightly colored pants. Firstly, they are not very flattering on anybody who isn't extraordinarily skinny. Secondly, I find it difficult to wear bright colored tops, let alone pants (I'm a very neutral dresser). And finally, I just can't justify buying something that is going to be out of style before you can say Spring/Summer 2013.

And aside from this trend I like, I really really love Petra's Kelly.

Although I can't (or won't attempt to) pull off bright or neon colored pants, doesn't mean that I can't attempt the color trend itself. There are many other ways to pull of bright colored clothing and accessories.

Firstly, cutting off those colorful pants and wearing brightly colored shorts. It seems more acceptable because it is being worn in the summer time.

Another way to wear this trend would be to use a blazer as the choice of color.

One of my favorite perfumes is Viktor&Rolf Flower Bomb. I love the scent so much. As I was deciding which size to get, Sephora gift card in hand, I realized something that I thought I should share with you. In the society we live in, we automatically assume that when we buy something of a bigger size, we get a better deal. Think Costco, that mentally is something that we live with. But, of course, that is not always the case.

Obviously, the best value is actually a medium sized case. In fact, for 3.75oz, you would pay $145. Less than the highest price, and you would get a significant amount of more perfume. (You would have to buy 5 sets to get 3.75 oz).
Because this is obviously the better deal, it is what I did.

Remember, bigger isn't always better and do you research before you buy things!!

In the words of the eloquent Mac Miller, put into my language. I want a Rolex. A vintage, gold, men's Rolex. I absolutely love the look of the men's over sized watch on a woman. And at the time, I am completely content with my Michael Kors watch that I wear nearly daily. But it's everyone's dream to own a Rolex isn't it? And for some reason, I love vintage things, purses, jewelry, etc. I love them because I love things that have a life beyond mine, they tell a story almost.

I just picked up this Juicy Couture dress in a light musty green that I love. I don't really like wearing colors but this is so soft that it is perfect for me! Plus the price was great. Nearly 90% off with the original price being $198.

I got this color for Christmas, "Cocktail Bling" and I am aboslutely in love with it! Please excuse my not-so-good manicure, I have not attended beauty school and I'm not amazing at doing my own nails.

I am in love with this top from Urban Outfitters. I just love inverted crosses. Many people think they're antichrist symbols, when in reality it is the Cross of Saint Peter who did not want to be exicuted the same way as Jesus. (Not that I'm very religous).

I'm also loving this Chiffon blazer. I have a similar one in a light brown one, but I really like this one as well.

I am also in love with intial jewelry, or jewelry with meaning. Is it odd that I wouldn't mind wearing someone else's initials? Like a friend or loved one. I think it's cute. Especially since I will be going away to college next year. It's a good way to remember people and make them feel like they're with you. My own initial would be cool too though.

After appearing on the runways, animal print thus trickled down the stream we learned about while watching the movie The Devil Wears Prada, and now it is down at the bottom of the bargain bin. And now that it is available and popular in mainstream fashion, for cheap prices, it is being worn by many. Animal print reminds me of cringe-worthy pictures from the cast of Jersey Shore I came across while perusing the internet. And although it is worn by many people, so incredibly wrong, we must remember that animal print is a staple in any woman's wardrobe, and can be worn with much class. Just because it received a bad rap by unfashionable people that did not know how to wear it, doesn't mean we should give it up forever for fear of coming across like them. We have style, thus, we are able to wear animal print without looking like a castaway from the Jersey Shore.

Fakes

I don’t know if I’ve posted about this before, but I think it needs to be brought up. A blog I follow, For the Love of Retail, recently posted about her opinion on fake designer goods and got a lot of backlash for it. You can read her post here: Fake Designer Goods She makes very valid and excellent points.
For some reason, people are still OK with stealing others ideas and buying designer items that were produced in bad conditions and support bad things. For example, an article by Johnston for the New York Times states:

Groups like Al Qaeda and Hezbollah have turned to trafficking in counterfeit
consumer goods, like fake Nike shoes, Sony stereo equipment and Calvin Klein
jeans, says the top official at Interpol, who is scheduled to testify about the
issue on Wednesday at a Congressional hearing.
''The link between organized
crime groups and counterfeit goods is well established,'' states the written
testimony by Ronald K. Noble, the secretary general of Interpol, to be presented
at the House Committee on International Relations. ''But Interpol is sounding
the alarm that intellectual property crime is becoming the preferred method of
funding for a number of terrorist groups.''

It is very obvious that fake handbags are wrong and illegal. Yet people still are okay with them. I’m not going to get into my whole argument on why you shouldn’t carry them, just face it, you shouldn’t.
If you have any questions on the authenticity of something, there are people on trusted websites who will authenticate bags for a small fee, along with forums (the purse forum), where the members will do their best to attempt to help you. There are also videos, like the one bellow, that help people learn how to authenticate designer items.

This video is one of my personal favorites to help authenticate Chanel bags.
When you carry a fake bag, you are paying for the label, but those who you want to impress, who would carry a bag from the designer, would know in a heart-beat that it is a fake. There is no such thing as a “good-fake”. It is so simple for me to tell a fake designer bag from another, through my experience with the ones I own.
I know that I can’t stop you from buying a fake bag, if that’s what you’re really set out to do. But at least you may think twice about it.

Baby, it’s Cold Outside

While walking from my car into the school the other morning and vice versa that afternoon, I came to realize how extraordinarily cold it has become in a matter of days. Was it really this week that I was wearing shorts around my house and now I’m bundled up like an Eskimo?
The sudden drop in temperatures and excess of snow has made me realize even more how much I am lusting over furs. I want a fur coat so entirely bad, they’re just fabulous. (sorry PETA)

No animals were harmed in the writing of this article.

I mean no disrespect to those who are against animal cruelty, those who don't eat meat or wear fur, etc. Everyone has different opinions on things, and if we didn't, and all got along life would be boring.

Modern Day Dorothy

Those iconic shoes featured on the Wizard of Oz make those who wear sparkly shoes automatically “Dorothy” for the day. But adding glitter and five inches or so can do wonders for one’s self-esteem. They are so pretty I could stare at them for hours on end, mesmerized by the colors shinning through the light.

And who cares about being called “Dorothy” when your shoes are as amazing as these. You’ll be able to stop on the jealous girls who won’t be able to pull them off.

What is it about those over the top, statement and cocktail rings that everyone is loving right now? (me included!) It’s almost as if we are guarding our precious fingers and want to inflict pain in those who want to knuckle-punch us.

Walking around school, and I see a guy that I know, he puts his knuckle out for me to punch, and I gladly accept, injuring him in the process with the three rings I have on that hand.

Lambskin Woes & I love Chanel

As many of you may (or may not) know, I own one Chanel bag that I adore deeply. But it is vintage, ergo, Lambskin. There is a basic formula I use with Chanel. Pretty=Vintage=Lambskin=Problem It's quite bothersome due to the fact that I adore vintage Chanels and the designs are my favorite. But because the majority of vintage Chanels are lambskin, that means that they are very sensitive.

Excerpt from my life:

Imagine me, however you would wish to imagine me, strolling along La Seine in Paris. I am close to the Musee D'orsay, but the line is super-long so instead of waiting I decide to walk along the river. Alas, the weather app on my iPhone fails me and it starts pouring rain. Un Probleme! (I'm very good at speaking french, as you can tell. So I start running to my hotel, and I mean running, I'm on the correct side of Paris, but my hotel was somewhat across the river from Notre Dame (if you know Paris well). Of course, I am carrying my lambskin Chanel. My poor Longchamp was left in the hotel that day. In a sign of desperation, I stuff my bag under my shirt and continue to sprint to my hotel.

END SCENE

Quite a problem, as you can see. this, is the reason why I am looking to get a new purse. I am unsure of which type, possibly Celine, possibly YSL, possibly Chanel (again). I'm quite unsure to this.

As this might seem slightly negative, I still completely adore Chanel (especially their vintage peices, le sigh). I would completely love a pair of vintage Chanel earrings a la:
