Mei Restaurant Downtown St. Pete FALL MENU PREVIEW | LOTD

2026-10-03T20:03:00.000-07:00

Last night's "Grand Opening" & Fall Chef's preview dinner at Mei Restaurant in St.Pete.
Everything is gluten-free in my post except the milk bread from course 4 and gluten-free bread was provided. You can always let them know your dietary restrictions ahead of time and they do an awesome job with accommodations.
It was great to get a preview of some of the Fall Chef's Counter menu so close after having the end of Summer experience (which I will have to post later because it was literally like two weeks ago), it was great to compare and note the subtle and not so subtle changes -example the course with the Celtuse is reminiscent of the late Summer dish, but the presentation is different and aome things about it are different.

This menu is a smaller menu which is five courses at a lower price point than dining at the Chef's Counter. You also have the option to add on caviar, wine pairings or wagyu to the coursing progression. Unlike the Chef's Counter, this is served in the dining room. So, the price costs less, but you don't get the "experience " of dining at the Chef's Counter. You also don't get some of the starter courses or extra dessert courses as you would at the Chef's Counter which does cost more (which I noted by just comparing both experiences I had less than two weeks apart).

I would say for me, I would prefer the experience plus more food, but if you want a low key intimate experience then this is also a great option because you will have your own table with a designated waiter or server.

This first course is very fresh and it really just reminded me of Spring. It was pretty good and it acted as a great palette cleanser as well due to the bright acidity.

Shown courses 1&2
Honestly, I had the Celtuse one time on opening night and I thought it was so delicious 😋 I would come here literally just for Celtuse.
I liked this dish though, although not much different from the late Summer menu, it was different enough to let the Celtuse shine (as it should).

The final course. This to me was a good example of what you get doing this coursing vrs the CC. We had like two or three desserts wheras here it was just one. Its a bit small, it may not be for everyone. I thought the Ice Wine pairing went great with the white chocolate ice cream and pear. It to me seemed like a deconstructed dessert course that is meant just to be a finisher much like what I am accustomed to when I go to omakase dinners.

Sometimes I post things from Factor because I am a Factor Partner, but my husband and I do actually eat this food outside of that. My husband in particular, lost about 75 pounds on his own, but having the Factor meals in our house actually keeps him from over snacking and eating something healthy and more fulfilling. It has been a year since I partnered with Factor and we both have eaten Factor meals most months and it was not sponsored. This post is sponsored because I did not pay for this so I want to make that clear.

Factor sent me some meals at the very end of this month so you will see more posts next month. I tried to show how the meals look with the flash and without in these two photos so you guys can see how it truely looks. If you follow me on social media thwre are also videos.

This time around I am featuring some of the premium meals which means there is an additional 12.00$ charge on each meal because it features premium seafood, filets, and short ribs.

I always plate my food because to me if the food is not looking good on the plate it doesn't make me want it I have and will show photos of how it looks just in the packaging though.

My husband doesn't mind at all to just heat up a Factor meal and eat it from the container and it is never frozen and takes 2 minutes to heat.

So this is the first featured meal. We liked it a lot. I know it doesn't look like a lot, but you can find all the nutrition info online. You can also choose from Pescatarian, high protien, low sodium or even heart healthy.

I will also be sharing the breakfast for a year. If you use my code or link you can get breakfast for free for a year. I tried it and you do infact get free breakfast and it is 1 per week and they are all gluten-free.

The meals are clearly labeled gluten-free now as well!

*Dinner photos are good as well because that was not at the Mahaffy Thearter.

I paid for my tickets the day after they went on sale months ago and I was not really sure if I would like the show (I almost did not go), but the tickets were not expensive and it seemed like fun.

I wantes to go with one of my. lassic looks from my earlier days. Its crazy that there ia so much nostalgia for the early 2000's style and I still have so much of my clothes so I am happy to re-style them. I miss the classy style from back in 2007 to 2015 when everyone was kinda classy and business casual look, or as I used to say, "church Flow" on Sunday's.

My clothes could easily transition from work to day to night to church because they were so modest albeit very "safe."

Now, everyone shows a lot more skin (I am one of them and not denying it), but for the most part, I think I am pretty modest. Okay, so anyhow, now the style is in a wierd place where people want this nostalgia back, but they still want their choice to well, bare all. I get it, but for me, I kept it all (my clothes); so I hope you all love some of the looks.

Its all pretty much vintage if I share these types of styles so there are no links, but I can name the stores if I remember them.

I may be feeling rushed, but most of this year I have made more time for styling my hair than usual. I have to because it was about tailbone length and it does tangle easily because my hair is dense with fine strands so I get fairy knots in the same place all the time no matter what I do outside of using heat because I do not use heat on m hair. So, this is a cute twist and curl that I did because I realized it's been about five or six years since I discovered one. Twist and Curl styles are my favorite and they are so easy because I just need oil, water and conditioner. *

I brought a lot of clothes for this trip and I literally was so rushed and felt so overwhelmed that I ended up maybe taking photos of three outfits. That is life, but, the whole look I was channeling was just preppy chic streetsyle.

These low profile tube tops are so comfortable and the pair well with anything. As you can see here, I have paired it with these nice linen shorts (I always forget my belt when I am packing). Its a nice looking outfit that says I have confidence, I have style, and I like to be confortable- not that I was planning that lol its just my style as a Florida girl.

Not only is it super hot in South Florida, but this is lightweight and quick to throw on.

How cute is this restaurant right? I have to make more time for cute shots like this. It just seems like lately I have no time for anything while feeling like I have all the time in the world if you know what I mean. I haven't been on vacation anywhere long enough in a little while to even decompress and a lot of times I am just overwhelmed.

So back to the fit, I paired this cute look with my new kitten heels as well. Am I finally a fan of kitten heels? No, not really, but I will wear them if they are cute. These probably are no longer available because when I bought them there were only a few left in the United States and that was in May. I like that these have that subtle dainty pink clover detailing on the heel.

Just to say, I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant except I wish they were more active on social media so I could shout them out and give credit where credit is due.

I liked dining here a lot. I was here during the off season (so much like with some of the other restaurants the vibe I think would have been completely different like maybe a month before when it was busy). BUT, style, decor, food, all of that met my expectations. Our waiter was great and the Chef greeted us as well and I in general love when people are happy to talk to me (us) and tell us about the area, the food, just everything. everything.

A lot of this is farm to table and some organic and a lot of gluten-free options are available.

August 2026 City Life VLOG 2026 | Gluten-Free Recipes | Hauls & Shopping

2026-09-11T01:47:00.000-07:00

So, I want to just I know its been very quiet over on the "City Life" posts. Summer is not my favorite time of the year. Its a literal struggle every single year and I do not know why. I hate to complain about anything becauae there are people going through much worse. I relize, I have also beeen trained to think and feel that way which diminishes my feelings and experiences and that is the whole point of my "City Life Vlogs" is to share my life and experiencesin the city and abroad.
Life is "lifing" for everyone right, but a lot of times in my life, most people who know me, they do not have any empathy or sympathy for any type of struggle that I go through and those are the same people who will be around me and say "wow, your so lucky" as if I didn't work for the things I have. Or they just plain Ole dont care at all about what I am experiencing and only want to trauma dump ok...
I am being real with you guys. Well, as real as I can be because I like to try to keep it positive.
What I can say, is that no ones struggle should be compared and weighed to another persons. We are all experiencing life at the same time for the first time, and it is better to feel empathy and sympathy for anyone and everyone who is experiencing hardsahip, even if you believe that they somehow have it better than you. Whatever the hardships may be.
Now, I know what I am saying is loaded right. You have political figures and celebrities and influencers and these are all the people I am sure you all may be thinking "well, what about them".
Right now. I am talking about us "regular degular" folks. So, I will just leave that there. Us "everyday people" not celebrities and them, we all have hard times and it seems like since the pandemic everyone is so hardened and desensitized its exhausting, but I get it.

I just said I try not to try to complain or like, say much and keep it more on the happy side because its already a lot of people dumping their negative energy on us all everyday in life and on the news and in social media. I have had people repeatedly tell me I am too happy or too positive and I must be fake. Like, is it it a crime to try to look on the brightside of things and try to be positive? Who is that hurting?

To the point where I have lost friendships and business opportunities. A lot of people want to see and hear about your struggle so they can use it againat you and feed off it. For my readers...please be aware of the energy you put out into the universe; the things you speak into existence, it matters. So, I know a lot of times I post "City Life" posts and I don't write anything. I want to, Somwtimes I have weiters block and somwtimes life is just womping me and life is just "lifing".

My motto is this: I just gotta get my life together and try harder and thats just how I am. I try to keep it positive and flowing.

So, I know the whole Summer passed just about and I haven't said much and I guess this is kind of an explaination. Come at me in the Fall or early Winter or Spring though. The thing that sucks for me is that my anniversary is during the Summertime and both my husband and I really do not like Summer. So, every year celebrating is a struggle. Its insanely hot, its expensive to go anywhere in Florida right now, its hard becauae of work as well and everyone is also vacationing. So, yall just go easy on me. I am trying to just self reflect, take care of us and my family and hopefully reginerate for Fall. I am a Fall/Spring girlie.
September 21st is the first day of Fall and I am looking forward to it. If I can not share some positive stuff I probably will just share what I have for the month which may be photos or recipes, workouts and positive quotes.

I am still trying to find the rest of the photos for August. I have a lot more, but a bunch are wrapped up in my anniversary recap which won't be posted for some while.

XOXO

TUNA NIÇOISE SALAD

For me it was a 5/10 and hubs thought it was an 8/10. The canned tuna itself was a 10/10 and I have been trying to buy some FW tuna for the last few years locally so this is my first time finally trying it.

Food Tour 50 to 100: The Bern's x The Blind Goat Collaboration | Dry Rubbed Wings

2026-09-10T18:00:17.427-07:00

Bern’s-inspired chicken wing special available at The Blind Goat (4106 Henderson Blvd) for one week only, September 6-12.

Checking out the Berns x Blind Goat wing collab this week. You have 3 more days to check it out if you are interested.

Dry-Rubbed Wings, seasoned with Bern's signature onion ring spice blend, served with Larceny BBQ Black Truffle Ranch, made from Chef Chad's recipe.

The wings are first come first serve. We went on Tuesday and they were infact sold out and we had to come back!

I did check as well beforehand, the wings are baked not fried and the dry rub is gluten-free.

So, here is my review. I absolutely appreciated the fact that someone got back to me and xonfirmed the ingredients werw gluten free. They also confirmed the wings were baked (and dull disclosureit was questionable between baked or fried or grilled because they werw over cooked).

I thank that person who got back to me though to confirm that the seasoning was gluten-free. The first night we went at about 8:45pm and they had sold out of wings.

We went back again the next day; The wait for 2 orders of wings was about 40 minutes around 3pm. We got them, and they were loaded with seasoning, and they looked emaculate.

Unfortunately, they were overcooked to the point where the actual protien was mostly destroyed. I could taste the seasoning, but they were so hard to eat because these wings were what we would say "fried hard" and I guess I don't know if that is a Southern colloquialism, but they were too hard for me to chew. My husband had almost all of them. For the hype, they were just ok and I can't say if they would have been better if they were not overcooked because I only had them one time. It hard to come back from overcooked food than undercooked as well when it comes to wings.

I will never know becauae it was a one time thing and both of our orders were overcooked. I did appreciate the heavy seasoning, I just wish it could have made more of a difference because it kind of was crumbling when I was trying to eat.

So, other notes, I do think the actual grade of chicken could have been better, but that is preference. I was glad to try them, I love wings and a lot of times no one makes them gluten-free and not fried so I appreciated it.

Streetwear Chic: Women's Apricot Tropical Retro Style Camisole Knit Vest | Bar Terroir South Tampa Anniversary Dinner # 4

2026-09-08T09:13:00.000-07:00

Happy Tuesday loves! Todays look is such a cute classic look! I really wish I could have gotten more photos, but it was raining and too humid to get any clear shots. I don't know about you, but I will be happy when Summer comes to an end! We have been having some insane lightning storms the last 5 weeks and it is way more than isual. Anyhow, I have deemed this a "classic look" because it is to me and I will explain why below.
Back when blogs were more popular all of us girlies were Streetstyle bloggers mostly, in the fashion world. I love Streetstyle because it gives you this avenue of creativity that is not judgemental. You also didntt have to be tall to be your own model or skinny or anything that people would typically associate with modeling or fashion.

You just had to have style.

There are many forms of Streetstyle fashion as well, and one of my favorites is the feminine preppy look. This, paired with my love of vintage style is how this look comes together.

Now, this skirt may look familiar because this was the most popular skirt for us fashion bloggers back in 2012. I almost threw it away, but like I told you all before, I am big on keeping my clothes and wearing them as much as I can for as long as I can and this skirt along with my purple one has survived three moves! While this skirt is now over a decade old, the condition is the same as the day I ordered it online and recieved it.

So, this is a great example that buying cheap fast fashion is not always a bad thing if you plan to keep those items in your wardrobe!
So, this Summer I finally decided to take tge plunge and try out this newish onlone store I have been eyeing for about 3 years. I finally just decided the heck with it, I will order a few items and see if this stuff actually arrives and actually is 100% cotton as claimed!

So, that is where my cute vintage top comes in. Yes, it was exactly as described!

Women's Apricot Tropical Retro Style Camisole Knit Vest: Oxknit Skirt: vintage

Tonight, we are having anniversary dinner at Bar Terroir. I know we go here a lot and its because we love this place and it's basically become a neighborhood hangout for us. The service is always impeccable and the food is always amazing. Tonight, I am sharing a few items that were only on the menu for the Summer and they will be rotated off the menu as Fall uahers in.
If you want to try these items I do believe this week is peobably the last week you will see them along with the other items I posted from our dinner a few weeks ago.

Casual Multi-Date: Small Giant (Tiki Takeover) and Babushka's | Girly LOTD

Linen top: Uniqlo Skirt: Red Dress Kitten Heels: Louis Vuitton Head scarf: Anthropologie Bangles: Ettika

SMALL GIANT BAR

WATERSTREET

Come with us on a multidate to try out the limited tiki menu at Small Giant 📍 and then to dinner at 📍Babushka's.

The blue cocktail was absolutely delicious. 😋.

So, this was a cool pop up at Small Giant, but its probably going to be my last visit here. I have been here about 4 or 5 times and everytime I come here there just are not a lot of options for gluten-free or healthy food. I had gone back and forth about this before thinking about mentioning it because it is basically a bar establishment and rhat have bar food. I have been told many times they were getting gluten-free pizza and more gluten-free options, but since they have oped that has not happened.

ANY times only my husband eats and I just have a drink or we have just gone somewhere else completely.
The restaurant isn't very gluten friendly at all. They do have hummus and a salad and that's about what they can guarantee is GF. This visit, I actually just came for the the drink that I have shown here and it was delicious. The thing that stuck me is that like, many times waiters will ask why I don’t want more food (and I wanted more food), but everything I asked for was not gluten-free. There were things that actually should have been gluten-free naturally, but the restaurant (Small Giant) did not make the items they were even selling on the menu, so it could not be gauranteed to be gluten-free and in particular the chips for the queso or soup. So basically I can have a salad or hummus. The last time I for a salad a lot of the lettuce was actually rotten so I did not want that at all.
I got into a conversation about how this is about always how the menu is there and the person waiting on us said that they had been asking for better gluten-free and healthy options, but they weren't being added to the menu.

So, that was dissapointing and for now, I am probably just going to call it on this place. The pop up was cute though. So, that is why this is a multidate post as well as the fact that I also knew to have a backup plan because I have been here before.
BLUE LAGOON: coconut rum, blue curaçao, pineapple, coconut.

According to hubs the food is just ok here. I believe all the times he tried to order pizza they were out of it. He has had other things like sandwiches and tator tots, it just is what it is. Its a bar establishment and they serve bar food that is marketed to be elevated (the pizza), but for me there is not a lot of drawbecause I can get a bomb salad at one of the salad spots and it won't be rotten.

I hope they do add more healthy options to the menu, this whole area is very health conscious so it isn't like it would't do well, but until then I am going to explore some other options. The drink was good tho 😋.

Next stopBABUSHKA'S HYDE PARK

This is literally the best platter you can get in Tampa and you will have lots of leftovers. I love the vegetables the most and the lamb. You have lamb, chicken, pork and kabobs with assorted vegetables. Normally, this is served with bread, but we usually tell them to not bring the bread because I can't eat it. You also get some salsa and dipping sauces.

Addicted to the Tableside Parm! Anniversary Dinner + Outfit Re-Style Soft Pink Glam

2026-08-31T21:43:00.000-07:00

Alright, do tonight I am re-styling this dress. Its really huge on me and sometimes I thought to add a belt, but I am not really a fan. I mention this because I remembered my mom who is also petite used to wear these clips on her clothes in the 90s.

So, after this happened I bought some so I will come back again with that look for this dress. The dress has already been featured on my blog before and its kind of like a circle dress. It is not made to be form fitting. I love the fabric and the color so I am going to give this another try later. My only goal for this post was because I was craving GF tableside chicken parmesan.

So, the tableside chicken parmesan has been living rent free in my mind since it was introduced on the secret menu around April. I don't even like cheese on chicken, but for some reason I crave chicken parmesan and it may be because I have never had it prior to being a Celiac.

There is a lot of foods that I never had before I had to go gluten-free and its like now that I have traveled around the world and eaten in so many places my cravings have changed and that also includes chicken parmesan.

Full disclosure, since it came out I have had it like 5 times. Yea lol and even for brunch because it is available for brunch too. Olivia is a great spot for gluten-free food, everything I usually post is gluten-free other than my husband's chicken parmesan earlier, his was breaded and fried. He actually said he liked mine better though which is unbreaded and baked.

On todays trip I asked for the gluten-free pasta with the same vodka sauce from the parmesan and it was amazing. You guys must try this combination!

So, another reason why I am making a whole post about chicken parmesan is because if you still haven't tried this off menu dish, it won't be available much longer. I think maybe until the end of September or maybe mid September. I dont know about you, but I think it should stay. I am so glad they also offered a gluten-free version because I really think this is my first time having it other than the True Food Kitchen version which I think has eggplant or turkey breast or something. This has all the feels.

Aircation: Whenever; Wherever | The Maxi Dress of the Summer | Multi-date in Sarasota

2026-08-29T15:47:40.062-07:00

So, I am calling this the "dress of the Summer" because this dress has been running through my mind for months now.

You guys know I pride myself on shopping B Corp Certified as well as promoting natural fibers, upcycling, and re-wearing and sharing clothes. I try not to buy too many clothes that are made of polyester and rayon and synthetic fabrics. I am highly worried about endocrine disruption, but as well as what it does to our environment (I studied environmental Criminology and I have a B.S. in Criminology.

Anyhow, social media has been hammering my brain with this maxi dress all Summer and I have tried to resist it so badly. Every once in a while I make an exception about a dress that I want to purchase that maybe isn't the best fabric. I do this because if you plan on keeping that item and re-wearing it and not throwing it away, then it isn't as bad.

I on average, keep my clothes (for decades) and I rarely throw them away; I donate them, I find family members who are my size that may want them, and I also will sell them.

But you know, I just had to get this dress. Well, it was about 39.95 and it was so cute and I love maxi dresses. It also comes in about six colors which I think are all pretty.

*I really was not in the mood to take photos because I had ate some really spicy food and I was having trouble seeing and hearing, but alas, here we are again in this Florida heat struggling and it looked like a hurricane was hitting Sarasota only 40 minutes ago.

I had to have it once I saw they had purple. I do feel like the dress is relatively flattering on all body types. This dress is all over Tiktok shop and Instagram, but I bought mine from Amazon due to the easy returns.

JPAN Utc is closing in about two weeks in the Utc location so if you want to check this place out now is the time. From what ai hear they are trying to find another location in the Utc area. They have another JPAN location in Siesta Row, but this location has a little but if a different menu.

This was a multi-date fueled by my cravings lol. So, yes, we made multiple stops.

2026-08-17T22:23:00.000-07:00

Alright, so I want to say first and foremost , these are not the shoes I was wearing when I wore this. A lot of times when I go on vacation it is raining and I can not take photos outside; some hotels take issue with my camera and do not want me taking photos in the lobby. As a result, I end up taking photos in the hallway or in my room, and a lot of times I forget to put on the shoes I originally had on.
I was wearing white Jimmy Choo's though. I bought this dress a long time ago, during the pandemic and it was basically when this dress, color and style came out. Its funny because it took about three years and now everyone has replicated it, but this is the original. Its actually from a company that is local in Sarasota and they are in fact a sustainable company that use natural fabrics or they upcycle old fabrics. A note, why are there so many anniversary dinners? Well, because I can and I believe in exercising my free will. Buuutttt, I am on vacation and there are in fact just many dinners that we will be going out on and so to me, they are all anniversary dinners.

Now, the hotel is so cute and I thought the hallways were designed and decorataed so chic, but these photos are literally giving me nothing. In my defense, it was storming like a damn hurricane waas coming and so this beautiful beachside experience turned into a romantic indoors experience lol.

Giving me nothing is a bit harsh. I literally woke up like this and was ready to slay. Muwah 💋

My husband just be taking photos of me looking however sometimes lol. ai asked him to bring me a mimosa and he did and I just said "ok, we'll, let's take these pictures." Meanwhile, I totally forgot to get a photo of us together on our anniversary because we were running around all day. This was just one moment and one stop in this Aircation.
I don't even care anymore, I have never been the type of girl to take a million photos and go through them looking for the perfect ones. The last 20 years it is literally 1 take and 1 chance, 10 shots and we are done because I will get so aggravated. That however, makes this authentic because there is never any planning and I like that even if I guess some people may not appreciate raw authenticity.

Roxie Midi Dress: YLLW The Label

I am wearing the wrong shoes. A lot of times I wear these Coach mules as house shoes when I travel which is why I keep forgetting to take them off. I was supposed to be wearing a basic white Jimmy CHOO sandal or my LV kitten heels. It really doesn't even matter now lol.

Ringside at the Cirque Hotel Lido Beach

So, you guys know I hate going to restaurants that Influencers heavily promote. I have been burned way too many times believing these reviews by people in the past only to visit a place and get horrible service or mediocre food or worse. This place hasn't been open long enough to have enough real reviews in my opinion that aren't Influencer driven. You may ask...well, how do I know. Well, ai live in this area, ai run in those circles as a foodiva and surprise, ai know a lot of the people and the companies. I do believe that if it is a sponsored post, it should say that and no, you shouldn't be leaving a review on leading websites for reviews.
What I want to say is, I was already planning to stay at this hotel Cirque at St.Armonds Beaches (Lido Beach). I have been coming out here all my life, but more in particular since I have been married because I used to live in a different area and it was a shirtee drive.

You know what persuaded me is going to sound even more crazy. I could have sworn I read an article by CNN saying Ringside was named one of the best seafood restaurants in Florida. Now obviously I was like well WHO named it this because that matters and did they pay to be included in this list of restaurants; my interest was piqued. Like I said, I was already staying at the hotel so I was just going to give it a try.

So, while I thought the food was very mid range (the steak for example and quality and cook) I thought the food was good. My husband liked the steak enough (he is not very picky). I actually had a Chefs special recommended to me that night which was a crab stuffed mushroom and I was apprehensive about it, but not only was it perfect for me taste wise, but it was the exact amount of food that I needed because I don't eat a lot all at once. Our waiter was the best part because I. would tell her was knowledgeable and from Florida and had been in the area a long time as a waiter. All of his suggestions were great and his attitude was great.

My only issue was not with dinner at all, the lighting is not what it is in the "Instagram Influencer photos" so I just dis not even take a photo with my husband in there. I regret that because it was our anniversary. A lot of times when restaurants have heavy Influencer marketing they will have the lighting perfect and make sure you get the perfect photo. That was not it in here like what you see. And before anyone says who cares, it was my anniversary and I just wish I had gotten one good photo. It just also provides an illusion of an unrealistic experience as many places will do when they lean in heavily to "influencer marketing".

I was here of my own volition; not sponsored so y'all go easy on me.

It rained all damn day too. I do want to say the person who checked us in was amazing. He gave me a drink when we came to the lobby (a welcome drink) and he put a bottle of wine in our bedroom. for our anniversary which I did not even see and he reminded me to get both.

OK so while I thought the food was a little mid, I thought the Chefs special was a 5/5. The Chef's special a lot of times is a 5/5 by the way in many restaurants. I had walked in there thinking I was going to have a seafood tower and I ended up getting the special.
