Afternoon tea!!

When we stay-home-mom doesn't have to rush to pick kids up by 2:05 PM or 3:30 PM, we have extended quality time with gal friends. It is so important for us moms/girls to stay connected with our life, the mutual communication with husbands, the school works of our kids, and kids' after school activities...etc. For me, the engaging time with my gal friends will remind me how to weight the priority among myself, my family, my husband, my kids and my passion of so many other things. Surely it is a great way of supporting each other and strengthen each other along the course of life.

Yesterday, Pei and I had a girly afternoon tea in Los Altos and it is so relaxing in a way that we can just talk about our core family, kids and husband. {You know, it is much simplified when life is without the involvement of our parents and in-laws. But I know when I need my parents, they are only a phone call away. What can I say, they are my family, my best supporting system other than friends. ^O^}

Of course I couldn't wait to take my new Vert de Gris togo Birkin for a ride today and recycle my clothes from my wardrobe. Who cares what I even wear if I am with him! All I know is how caressing his touch is when my skin against his (skin/leather). ("Him" as this Vert de Gris Birkin is such dark of a color.) ^O^

Well, all that statement only shows how excited I am and we must agree what's not to love when it comes to Hermes, right?!!!

This Green, and Gray combed color reminded me of my high school uniform. It is green and almost identical to this Verdigris ...back then, I was like "ugh... yak... why do we have GREEN uniform?" but people change, and I change. Now I really love it!!

Here I am trying to show that Vert de Gris is truly a green, gray color that none of the one shade eye shadow matches it.

Often people compliment my skin how supple and dewy it looks and want to know more about what products I use as daily skin regime. I had couple posts about it and here are more to add to it.

Ultimate Sexy, Mid-length Pencil Skirt!!

I am still taking acting classes and we are shooting a homicide mystery happened in 1963. Acting is fun and I always benefit from practicing not just acting itself but also to polish myself to a more native tongue of a English speaker.

For our scene, not only have I prepared a whole outfit of tie bow blouse, knitted pencil skirt, Docle & Gabbana fitted long blazer and Chanel round toe pump, we also shot at an old house which is full of very old furnitures, interesting paintings and antiques. Since I always have a thing for vintage stuff so I am so happy lurking around, oh, no, I mean, looking around the house.

My acting teacher asked me to prepare another outfit for the scene so I surfed on the Internet the other day. When I tried to find some pictures of some fashion guru wearing a mid-length pencil skirt, this ABC TV commercial pop up. Interesting thing is the era of this Pan Am TV Series is the same as our story. {Waste no more, I watched couple episodes and instantly hook on.}

The halcyon skies are a good harbinger of a pleasant gathering. Yes, the past couple weeks, I had a great time with my girl friends, and family friends as we all try to catch up what's our new year's resolution in 2012. Unsurprisingly, there are new ones and there are repeated ones from last year, including mine.

My kids were watching "Yes, Virginia" which is based on a true story movie of a 11-year-old girl who tries to find the proof of whether there is a Santa Clause. { I know, Christmas is over but kids just love the story regardless.} Of course it is a happy ending and I particularly like the positive message sent out by the story: "Santo Clause lives forever in the youth's dream and when there is HOPE, there is always ways to make the world a better place".

"When you see it in the Sun, it is so!!!"

I love watching cartoons with my kids and it is certainly a good way of bonding with them.

Keep Your Hats Up!!

I love hats and I probably own at least 20 hats by now and counting. I collect styles widely from baseball caps, finely knitted beret, cow boy hat, big brim straw hat, vintage decorative hat with veil on which my hubby hates the most but I just love it. I confidently say that I adore hats just as much as British women do. Yes, HATs in Britain are ritualized!! Wouldn't you agree with me that an add-on "Hat" can be a sexy wink if you wear it right and a leverage to your plain outfit?!!

I ordered couple tweed/wool hats from Shyan, whom I'd like to call as a head piece master. I guess it makes great sense as he lives in Birmingham, Scotland, and the weather is mostly gray and brutal, hats are practical!!! All his hats are handmade in 100% leather or the finest wool and made with water proof wax on. I adore the old fashion look of those plaid, herringbone, and houndstooth woven in Scotland. Those hat pieces all have a casual sophisticated touch which allows me easily incorporate them into my wardrobe. For me, wearing hats is simply a self-expression that has nothing to do with classism as opposed to British people.

Shyan also makes great woven jackets which I couldn't wait to see his final production. Until then, I will just wear these hats and enjoy our sunny day in Northern California.

Not envy with green!

Green, yellow and cobalt blue never look so harmony together this spring 2012. I particularly love Elie Saab 2012 RTW collection (link underlined) that he uses simple silhouette and monochromic colors to create those breathtaking gowns. Don't get me wrong, I love organza dresses but other than wearing haute couture to Oscar award, I favor those party and lounge friendly tube dresses way better.

Haute Couture Jewelry: BaroQco

Haute Couture is no longer a name to covet, it is much more accessible in our modern world. Not only that current haute couture pieces are "up to date" on both local and foreign trends, its extent also expands to jewelry, foot wear, hats, ...etc.

There are tons of Haute couture websites, Elie Saab, Versace ... just to name a few but not many devoted to only haute couture jewelry. I am very lucky to meet up with a talented Haute couture jewelry designer, Eduardo Lim, who was born and based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Eduardo says that all the precious stones and other pieces are from Netherlands and he does all the designs himself. I must say the quality and details of his collection are beyond stupendous. I also love the fact that all of the pieces are statement pieces but they are not limited just meant to be wore for special functions only.

As we go over several pieces from his collections, I couldn't wait but to get my "neck" on one of his piece. {Hubby wouldn't say "No" as he likes the piece I picked and as we are on vacation in Europe and all we want to do is to spoil ourselves in any way we can. ^O^}

This is such a state of the art piece, not only I love the monotoned smoky quartz Swarovski, this haute couture piece will not be overwhelming to jeopardize any outfit you put on with.

Fashion trend is around the world and haute couture pieces are no longer far beyond our reaches.

{We had a great lunch in red light district in Amsterdam that afternoon and we are so thrilled to know a lovely new family in far far land. (or maybe not that far... ^O^)}

We wouldn't go back home without visiting Gaudi's ongoing masterpiece: Sagrada Familia. This is the most impressive works of Gaudi's and which also involved with all the structural difficulties he faced and the errors he committed in other projects as well. However, those difficulties are resolved here in this Holy family church.

For me, I'd appreciate it as a grand gothic architecture instead of a holy church.

Trust me, if you want people turn heads just to see your shoes in Barcelona, Converse, is the way!! Not just anything Converse, hand-embellished studs Converse will get you the attention you want. Oh, I mean not the attention for pickpocket, but for the good cause. I bet they have no idea where to get a pair... but you know, Joey Found!!!

We noticed that young dudes particularly like to stare at my shoes and as one talked about my shoes, his/her company is most likely turning heads looking for the shoes. Thus, I would also deliberately walk away and hide myself..... lol...just to tease!! lol.. so fun~~--

We are actually looking for another store which only Madrid has it now. The location : Career del Procenca 304 is now MARNI!!! I was surprised and ecstatic. Hubby even find his down jacket there.

Yes, that's right. The only store carries Marni Man's collection in Spain. Hubby is now over the top as that Marni down jacket is not just a down jacket, the design is like a collage mixed of quilted down, jersey/cotton. Therefore, the look is extraordinary and it is on sale that we probably won't see another man wearing the same thing while we are back in USA. lol..

12/25 11 A.M. Arrival in Amsterdam

Soap souvenior for my dearest friend, Cathy.

Love the crisp air in the morning when it is actually not cold at all.

There aren't many cute shops open on Christmas Day in Amsterdam but this is one still open and called "Leafde"!!

Everything displayed and sold in this store is so soothing that you almost want to change your life style. You want to burn bee wax candles, replace your plastic/metal containers to felt wool ones instead and basically, you would want to try to live with a sustainable life. lol.

{Jet lag.... so sleepy,.... no... I can't go to sleep yet..... lol..}

Can you tell I didn't sleep for 20 hours straight already?!!!

After a walk of 1 hour, we are so ready for our first meal/lunch in Amsterdam... "Nooch" an Asia Fusion restaurant. lol... What can I say, travel with kids, the best bet to make sure they eat and replenished with enough nutrition before big adventure is let them eat something familiar and something from home. ^O^

The weather here in San Francisco is just so nice, we can be just fine without big coat... chill but not so cold to make you sick.

{I am still pondering whether should I wear this Mackage down jacket to Amsterdam... is it really that cold?}

Leather and fur are the best chill-resistant pieces.

Will I survive in this outfit in Europe? Hum, of course there will be another layer underneath those vests!! I think I should be fine!

Officially it is a 5-day countdown to our Amsterdam and Barcelona trip on 12/25. Even so I still decorate our Christmas tree and around the house, it is just the spirit that I cannot live without during this holiday season.

Besides, kids love it so much when they can actually get their hands down on hanging up those ornaments on the tree and see exciting Santa and angels decoration around the house.

I want to get a pair of gold-plated cuffs to complete a Wonder Woman look but since I am not ready for spending $$$ on those, I decided to get mine at Whole Food Market. They are only $10 each. Even though they are made in sterling silver, they are good enough for me for now.

We even prepare one stocking for our little hamster, Minnie.

Don't you think those cakes are so cute that you dare to eat nor cut them.

I am very proud of myself for collect those pretty glass ornaments over the past 4 years.

I have two Chanel boucle' jackets and every winter, I'd remember to wear them out as they are just gorgeous and classic. This white Chanel from Shanghai collection was inquired last year and I am still in awe for its chic style whenever I put it on.

Lots of private sales, oh, well, lots of tempting sales during holiday season I should say. However, there aren't much for me to shop except for Christmas gifts. Better yet, I ask my friends to wait and see if I can find something special for them in our Europe trip during Christmas and New year.

But it really won't hurt to just try them on!! { I am walking and meditating at the same time in my 6 inches Charlotte Olympia cat's face wedge pump in the city and if I were not concentrating, I might fall!! Ha ~ }
