Hammi Jammi jewelry is handmade jewelry by Carrie, a gifted artisan, who has managed to make this accessory loving Fashionista very happy. Hammi Jammi Jewelry Shop is on Etsy, and carries a variety of beautiful artwork.

My piece of handmade jewelry is truly unique from the double chain, to the big blue beads, ending with cute little black charms. I’m a very big proponent of buying from artisans, and handmade jewelry is some of my favorite handmade items. I really love unique jewelry, that’s different than the mainstream accessories you can buy anywhere.

Hammi Jammi handmade jewelry pieces embody what I think is unique jewelry is. I’m really lucky to have gotten 1 of Hammi Jammi’s unique jewelry pieces. Then it gets better, Carrie worked so hard to meet my limitations when she sent me a pair of dangling turquoise earrings I couldn’t wear.

I cannot wear dangling earrings due to a ripped piercing in my left ear. I can wear studs, but anything hanging poses a huge risk for ripping more. When I received an e-mail that my dangling earrings were on the way I was at a loss as to what to say. She was kind enough to send me something, and I felt like I was kicking a gift horse in the mouth by saying I couldn’t wear them. However, Carrie did not hesitate to offer me something else, and sent me my gorgeous bracelet.

I’ll tell you I am certainly not the Laura Ashley type which is generally the misguided perception of large floral patterns, but this year the patterns break that perception in a million pieces. Somehow, the floral patterns right now are sweet, but modern.

I have to say that I never thought I’d write a sentence that actually contained the words: embroidered Chihuahuas, but here I am.

Michelle and I have been friends for 20 years, and we’ve shared a lot together. She is the sister I never had. For her birthday I decided to finally make her the embroidered Chihuahua tank I’ve been meaning to do for the last…well forever.

I think it came out rather well.

2 of Michelle’s furry children are: Penelope “Peanut” and Bruno. They are 2 Chihuahua’s with quite the personalities. When I found Sublime Stitching‘s pattern pack called Chi Chi Fever, I knew I had to buy it for her, because I could make her a shirt to represent her babies.

If you’re anything like me you often question how to style your jeans for different occassions, especially when you are curvy I found a new solution in the Levi’s Curve ID jean collection.

Curvy women often have problems finding jeans because they are not a straight fit into a pair of jeans. Curvy women inherently have body parts that stick out in different places requiring a different cut.

I checked out the levis.com site to see the new Levi’s® Curve ID. I couldn’t believe that there were jeans designed for curvy women like me. I have 1 pair of jeans right now, and the Levi’s Curve ID jeans are a perfect addition to my small collection. When you go to the Curve ID page on the levis.com site, it asks you a few questions about your body , and then tells you what jeans work best for your body type. I really fell in love with the Classic Bold Curve Straight Jean in Worn Rigid. The fact that they are $50 is awesome. I really want a new pair of jeans, that will work well for my weekend running around.

Since I work during the week jeans are not something I wear Monday through Friday, unless I’m going out. As I am a member of the curvy women club, when Levis.com suggested the Bold Curve jeans for me, I knew they would look great dressed up or down. I’m looking to style my jeans in what I refer to as weekend chic.

Throw on a great pair of flats or Dansko’s with a cute t-shirt or simple button down top with your new Levi’s Curve ID jeans, and you are ready to run errands,  or take the kids to the park. I like to add a few accessories that are understated, but complete the outfit.

So, for all of the curvy women out there like me looking for a great pair of jeans I say let’s get ourselves a good pair of Levi’s Curve ID jeans. I for one am ready for the bold curve style, it also helps that they are $50 right now. I’m about to take my weekend chic up a notch.

My baby turned 3 last week, and believe it or not, she was still a crib. I had to hunker down, and come up with a plan to give her a big girl room. Luckily I had kept one of the boy’s Ikea beds for her, which I painted white (it was red). 

She loves Minnie Mouse, so I started looking for inexpensive Minnie Mouse bedding. We wound up with the Disney Minnie Mouse Reversible Comforter Set.

I wanted her to feel like a princess in her new big girl room, so I thought I’d buy some drapes and make her one of those gauzy canopy tyoe things. I fell in love witht the color and sequins of the Style Selections 84″L Raspberry Icicle. I bought the plastic pipes to make the canopy when I came across the Style Selections 94″L Pink Canopy. Because I loved the drapes so much i got them anyway for the windows. Turns out after showing A the options she liked the Multi Colored Canopy better. Phew less pink.

Now I had to tackle the biggest issue with her room: storage. In December we added some toy storage in her room, that has been fantastic, but she still needed more storage. As she’s getting older her room has to store more items. Like any other big girl room, we have to plan for growing out of things pretty quickly. I needed to maximize her super small closet. We got the ClosetMaid 31″ Horizontal Organizer in white (link is to Espresso).

I wish I could share A’s jumping up and down when she saw her big girl room. The excitement this little girl got from her new room was worth all of the hard work.

Far be it from me not to look at all of the possibilities and for under $10 I came home with 3 eyeliners and an eyeshadow.

Maybelline Line Express Eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire $2.88. Unfortunately, I find it’s a discontinued color, which is why it was on clearance. However, I can tell you I love the way this eyeliner goes on.

The next time you’re in Target go up and down the beauty aisle, and look for those orange clearance stickers. You’ll see them randomly, as they are gearing up for all the spring lines coming. You’ll get some fantastic deals.

I am in desperate need of designing help for my living room. I love bold but my husband likes more neutrals. I do have a painting that was my Grandparents that I would like to leave over the fireplace but I am not sure if bold colors would look good with it.

After e-mails back and forth here is what the living room makeover is based on:

• Shana’s had 3 things that needed to stay in this room: her grandmother’s china cabinet, a grandfather clock, and the TV stand, because they really loved the cherry finish on it.
• Her grandmother’s painting was optional, but I loved it just where it was.
• Getting bold color in the room, so both Shana and her husband would be happy.

Starting with color. I found the Single Bloom palette to look great with Shana’s grandmother’s pieces. Shana intends to stain the china cabinet a dark cherry color, so I kept that in mind when picking the color palette. I found a palette that had light colors, that weren’t typical neutrals. There are great pop colors, and they don’t require all that much to make a difference in the living room.

When you have what is known as a great room, painting becomes the thing that stumps people. Having a big room like Shana does can confound people on where to separate the colors.  The thing is that varying the colors within a great room allows you to segment the room using color instead of actual walls.

Create an entryway by painting it a different color that compliments the room being entered into. It creates the feeling of an entryway or foyer. Add a painting or a mirror, like the Chantilly Vines Mirror to the main wall to make it look polished. If she moves the Grandfather clock to the wall just outside the powder room door (slanted wall).

Unfortunately, many people forget that drapery is a genius way to really get your feeling lived in. Sometimes you can have the drapes be the addition of bold colors you’re seeking to have in your room. Yes I understand the lure and ease of blinds, but in order to make your ceilings appear higher, and to make your room warmer, drapes change everything. With having made the window wall a dark striking color, a drape like the Lyrical Branches, balances and grounds the color.

Shana mentioned that they intend to rip the carpet out of the living room, and put hardwood floor down. As soon as I heard that I knew a rug was in order. In the conversations we had I found out that Shana has had NO work space. She sits on her couch in her living room do her writing. UUM HECK NO!! I immediately knew exactly what she needed: a computer/desk armoir. It wouldn’t be obtrusive, and it would allow her to pack her stuff up.

If you add a couch, throw pillows, rug and armoire to the room, Shana’s well on her way to a living room makeover.

I hope that Shana finds that my decorating ideas speak to her, and she finds she got a living room makeover she likes. I used minimal bold colors so that her husband isn’t overwhelmed by color, and Shana will be happy to have bold color in the living room.

About 6 months ago a few of my friends were telling me about their gel nail polish, and  about how fantastic gel nail polish is. I saw the Nutra Nail Gel Perfect UV-Free Gel-Polish box and thought it was too good t0 be true. This gel nail polish looked pretty cool, and I would love to have a manicure that dries in 5 minutes. it occurred to me that this gel nail polish addresses the 2 annoying manicure issues: fast drying and lasts longer.

I took out the directions worried about being able to do the whole process by myself. I do my own manicures with regular nail polish all of the time, but this is a whole new process. Everything altogether was really easy, and the directions were so easy to follow.

In 30 minutes I had a full manicure, dry and ready to go. The gel nail polish has 1 bonus; it makes your nails really strong, and hard. Although there are tons of nail polishes that claim to make your nails stronger: this has a protective coating that protects your nails while it’s on.

In the end I cannot wait to use this in another color. The gel nails that my friends have been talking about is really as good as the claims. It is a nail polish that makes giving yourself a manicure totally worth it. I’m even thinking this may be my next go-to gift for all of my girlfriend’s birthday.

I cannot tell you how many times R and I have gone in circles with the question “what do you want for dinner?” It’s awful to say, but in the last 6 months I’ve had more bowls of cereal for dinner than any 1 person should.

R brought home 1 of the Bertolli Meal Soups in Chicken Minestrone, and it was like the greatest aha moment in a while. We both love soup, and we both love Minestrone soup, the Chicken Minestrone makes total sense. After I’ve been at work all day, and he’s been working and wrangling 3 until I get home, making dinner is a tough thing to muster the energy to do.

I haven’t told you the best part about the Bertolli Meal Soups. They are found in the  frozen food section. No canned soup for us.

The first thing that hits your taste buds are the great herbs that are used in the soup. There’s lots of chicken that you can see in your bowl right away. There’s no need to do a search and rescue for the 2 pieces of chicken in this Chicken Minestrone soup.

Bertolli has hit a home run with the Meal Soups. We will definetly be adding it to our freezer as a staple for those nights when R asks me “what do you want for dinner?”
