Autumn is settling in and I am writing from my apartment in Manhattan. It was just under 5 months ago that I embarked on an unsettling and overwhelming journey to New York to immerse myself in the vibrancy of the Big City, something I have dreamed about forever. Although I could never have imagined what would happen next.

To say this trip has been catalytic would be an understatement. I left my business, my country, my family, my relationship, and all that is familiar to me and stepped into a crazy, crazy world.

26 Things I Am Grateful For

Yesterday I turned 26. I caught myself feeling the pressure of how quickly time passes. So instead of freaking out I decided to write down 26 things I am grateful for, to celebrate.

26 Things I Am Grateful For:

I can still walk
I can still speak
Even though the scan results are bad, I don’t feel any symptoms
My family are all healthy and well
I’m still lucky enough to be growing with Paul. Learning and challenging each other.
I have managed to completely transform my life
I’ve created a successful company and managed to survive and pay an employee with the money
I’m creating an app that has generated the interest of several high up investors
I’ve been given the opportunity to work and live in New York
Giange is going really well
I’ve been forced to let go of toxic people, and I am so grateful as I usually don’t give up easily
I have access to almost any information that I need
I have the opportunity to create anything
I’m grateful for the internet!
I’m grateful for the resources I’ve been lucky enough to own like computer, camera, phone and ipad. I work hard to get these resources.
I’m grateful for my car and the freedom it gives me.
I’m grateful for the opportunity that a co-working space in Ultimo has taken on a crazy learn-a-holic kid from Sydney.
My insatiable love of learning is still here
That I haven’t learnt everything
Decaf coffee that still makes me feel like I’m consuming something even though I’m on a ridiculously strict diet
Music, music, music
That everyone in my life gets along harmoniously and interchangeably
For the fantastic and inspirational people that have come into my life
That i’m getting much better at picking up what things and energy are feeding me or no longer in line with who I am
Beautiful, fresh, organic food and the way meals bring people together
My blog and the incredible people who reach out to me everyday that I don’t even know. I am so humbled by the support it actually makes me so emotional that strangers can take the time to reach out to others in an incredibly positive way.

Food for Thought// Dough Box, Enmore

Driving down Enmore road one day and mid-conversation, I stopped to stare at what seemed to be a magical and very busy cafe across from Enmore Theatre.

As soon as you step inside Dough Box it honestly feels like you travelled back in time a bit with its gorgeous retro feature wall and old vintage signs. Paul and I had hand held crepes with nutella and spiders with creaming soda. Definitely nothing like what you can get these days.

I highly recommend visiting this little piece of culinary heaven for a simple hang out and friendly staff. Loved it!

Be. Wines

Ok, so I can finally reveal to you that I have been chosen by Be. Wines, a wine company breaking into the Australian market, as one of only six fashion bloggers to compete for the opportunity to organise and host their launch party (yay)!!!

As part of the competition I have been assigned a wine- 'Be.Fresh' Sauvignon Blanc, and assigned a colour to keep in mind for the event. This means that I have to design the whole event, given a budget, following a theme and if I'm picked I'll be lucky enough to see all my ideas come alive in a Sydney launch party!

Started my detox today weening off coffee and milk, have to say, haven't done too well but am definitely on a mission to stay on track with this metamorphosis makeover. I don't want to feel *blagh* anymore. I want to feel strong and healthy and confident, you know?

Anyway, I'm slowly getting some wins in my life after a disastrous couple of months where nothing was going my way.

Rebirth, You're Guide to a DIY Makeover

Have you ever watched a makeover shows on television? You know the ones where the participant gets bombarded by experts in hair, makeup, fashion, skin, weight loss, psychology and interior decorating and goes from looking like a 45 year old mother to 30 year old celebrity in two months? Yes?

Recently I've started to think that who I am everyday is a result of past expectations and not what I want to be right now. If you're confused by this statement don't worry- I'll make myself clearer.

Say you woke up tomorrow and decided "today I will finally be a peaceful person who no longer gets angry over stupid things", and you go about your day happily until at some point a little bit of a disagreement starts to come up between you and your partner (or someone else who knows you quite well). Even though you spent hours deciding that you no longer want to be someone who can't handle conflict and you want to radiate inner guru-ness, your partner knows exactly what to say to push the right buttons and you're suddenly sent into an uncontrollable avalanche of reactions. Before you know it your face is red, your heart is racing and your raising your voice and beginning to shout stupid, illogical arguments that have long lost any semblance of intelligence. You've hit your anger zone. You've become subject to deep past behaviours that will not submissively walk away quietly the moment you decide 'I'm going to be a different person today'..

That's not how it works bucko.

And this really transcends life areas. There are so many goals that I've set myself both psychologically and physically that I find sooo hard to achieve and I wish I had a team of experts at my disposal that could make the whole process.

Well, NO MORE. I am no longer blaming money or a lack of expertise on keeping me from being the person I want to be. I am doing this myself, beginning to end. I am going to be those experts. I am going to research and experiment and systematically make over each area of my life.

And you guys can do it with me. If this is something you're interested in then check out the plan I made for myself below. I won't be following this in order but it's a checklist that will continuously be revised, added upon and updated.

Life is travelling pretty well right now for me. Obviously there are ups and downs, but I'm really trying to focus on not rushing like a maniac through it. I was writing to a lovely and amazing blogger friend of mine, Adrienne from Lotdeux, about my current state of mind. I explained that now days we tend to live our lives like status updates, more concerned with how it looks than how feels (not an original thought, many people have written and spoken about this).

I was falling into this habit, but am now more concerned with moments, rather then goals.
