Have you ever heard of them? Up until a few years ago I hadn't, but now they are a regular part of my health plan - for me having regular colonics is kind of like having health insurance...   Why you might ask?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Health is my number 1 value... And it has been for a long time - for 12 years now, I have been very proactive with my health and health aware; I practice and teach yoga, I am vegetarian, and I eat mainly organic, fresh food, I walk whenever I get the chance, I do regular liver detoxes, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't take drugs (illegal or legal) You could say I am pretty health consiocus :) and yet today in my colonic session, (purified water used to flush the bowel under the supervision of a qualified Colon Therapist) you'll never believe what was flushed out of me..... ???&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A WORM nest - So Unbelievable and yukky.. but oh my gosh - it was so amazing to see it...... be flushed out of me and gone forever!.....and apparently according to my Colon Therapist, most of us have these worms inside of us, sitting in our intestines, eating away at our food or us, and negatively impacting and damaging our health.... How gross is that.... But even worse than thinking that there is a parasite inside you, (if that is possible!) is that this parasite is competing for nutrients, scavaging all the health goodies and nutrients before you and your body can get the chance to absorb them... and we know with health... We are not what we eat, but what we can absorb... so if you are suffering from any health condition including but not limited to bloating, IBS, diarrhoea, skin disorders, constipation, allergies, asthma, immune problems, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, then make sure you ask your health practitioner to test if you too could have worms like me..... and I didn't even have any of these symptoms... Oh and one more thing that I find fascinating, is how amazingly different I feel in my body... My colon therapist said to take it easy for the next 3 days as my body re-adjusts to being the new me... these entities have cellular memories, and when released from the body, we release these old memories and that affects our new cells, our body and our cellular structure- how cool is that?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As they say, better out than in!!! Mix the grapefruit juice &amp;  olive oil by shaking it well or even briefly blending it in your blender. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Drink it at 10pm on the dot, best to drink it in bed, (you want to be as close to horizontal as possible, and have little - no movement once you drink your cocktail... this helps all the stones release...) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;IMPORTANT:&lt;/span&gt; As  soon as you finish the drink, immediately lie down and go straight to bed......&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please note: You can also add a small dash of cayanne pepper to this cocktail mixture, before you do, check in with your intuition, only add it in if it feels right, trust yourself, you can't get it wrong.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tomorrow morning, Day 6, okay now the fun begins... Bathroom visits.... After your bowel movements, check in the toilet bowl and be as brave as you can be... what you will find will astound and amaze you... after your bowel movements... most stones will float... some will be small, others will be bigger, and some will be phenomenally big... And we know that diets don't work...But making small cumulative changes in our daily habits do...... When we set ourselves up internally for success, miracles happen in our external world (God, the Universe, nature, Law of Attraction, Angels, Guides - basically whatever you believe in) provides all that you need to be successful in creating your vision..... It was sweltering hot... I wsa lugging far too much gears, I was still shaking from fever and not feeling 100% after having thrown up all night. I'd just probably paid 10 times more than I should have for a cab because I couldn't speak enough Spanish to make myself understood. I had just checked out of my accommodation from last night, after being eaten alive by mosquitos in between my bouts of throwing up from my previous night's mexican dinner and I had no idea where to go next..... I just knew I needed to leave, to get out of where I was... But where to? I had no idea.... And the sun was beating down in the heat of the midday sun... and not a cab in sight...  And I found myself sobbing on the pavewalk.... After all the years of studying my mind - i was just noticing all the thoughts racing through my head... I just want to go home.... I hate Mexico... Maybe I should just get a cab straight to the airport and get the H**K out of here.... I hate travelling.... Where was my boyfriend... I want someone to come and save me...&lt;div class="text"&gt; &lt;p&gt;And in this moment, all the things I was so grateful for, were forgotten. My transformative healing session with a traditional Mayan healer, the wonder of having my future read to me by a Mayan shaman and then translated back into English so I could understand it, and Cha Chaa - my driver who took me everywhere and waited patiently for me while I mediatated in ancient Mayan ruins and drove for miles to find me litres of the freshest organic coconut water in the world, and the best and sweetest watermelons in his local area, and the divineness eating fresh, juicy mangoes straight from the mango trees.... and my love and appreciation for so many beautiful Mexican people that opened their hearts to me and shared their stories and their lives and....Paulo Pedro, the philosopher, Mayan researcher and Mayan artist who spent hours with me teaching me about Mayan culture, and sharing his research on culture that opened my mind to a new level of deep respect for local people whereever I go next in the world....&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Have you ever had this sort of thing happen to you before? Your life is pretty amazing, but when things go wobbly it feels like the whole world is tumbling down? And I prepared a fast, healthy romance dinner for the two of us, which was very simple. A big plate of fresh greens (rocket, spinach and fresh herbs - chopped up and sprinkled over), chunky avocadoes, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, all gorgeously dressed and drizzled with an aromatic and delicious pumpkin seed oil, and lemons, decorated on the side with some yummy roasted sweet potato...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Presentation is everything! I piled everything up high in the centre of beautiful, lovely, white, large square plates.... Placemats were put out, I dimmed the lights, and then loaded the table and the house with candles. I played some of our favourite music, nice cocktail glasses filled with San Pellegrino soda water, lemon slices and ice and we were ready to eat in just over 30 minutes... Special.... Can you believe it? Where has the last 3 weeks gone? Well for me, it's been a whirlwind of airports, planes, new countries, new people, new experiences...  I've been back home in New Zealand, visiting friends and family (beautiful beautiful country). First time home in 3 and half years.... Nothing changed and yet everything was different! All in good ways. More recently I've been in Los Angeles, California, staying in a fabulous spot in Malibu overlooking the ocean (one word - breath-taking)... Santa Monica (3rd Street Promenade - so much action, it's a must see!) Hollywood, West Hollywood, Melrose Ave (the designer Street with loads of cool funky hip shops and cafes). Bodhi Tree Bookstore - health, beauty, medical and spiritual texts that will blow your mind and of course lots of raw food and healthy restaurants to feast in. And then to San Diego - a good friend of my boyfriend, gave us the delight of a whirlwind tour - to the beach, the best restaurant in town for lunch, the San Diego Zoo, where we made friends with Security by pushing the boundaries of the 5pm closing time til 6pm and scored a ride back to the carpark, as we checked out beautiful wildlife, all the while internally sitting with my inner questions and dilemnas of the ethics of the Zoo.  Now back inPhoenix - back into my amazing yoga class that I found in December . Great simply &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;eaten at home or served at a fancy dinner party.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt; Pimped up with pretty pomegranates, they are a real super food, packed full of antioxidants to keep your energy levels high and your skin looking sparkley, smooth and youthful.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://community.sweatybetty.com/expert-katrina/image.axd?picture=2009%2f12%2fpomm.png" alt="" width="400" height="596" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Pomegranate and Quinoa Salad&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;1 cup quinoa (cooked in 2 cups of boiling water, about 10 minutes, until it forms white tails)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;1/2 pomegranate (seeds scooped out, discard the rest)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;2 handfuls of washed Organic Rocket (or arugula) or any greens you have on hand&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;1 Avocado (sliced thinly)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;1 small bunch of organic basil and parsley (finely sliced)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;1/8 Red onion (very finely finely chopped)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Goats cheese (if desired)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Dressing&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;I like to keep it simple but you can dress this wee salad with almost anything you like.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Here's what I use.... &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Generous drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Juice 1/2 lime or lemon squeezed&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Himalayan or Maldon crushed sea salt (never table or iodised salt) sprinkled over top &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"&gt;Crushed or finely chopped garlic (if desired - vary amount according to your preference)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;Sign up for your free e-course that shows you an easy, step by step process for transformation

Well it's been a whirlwind! Was in Italy until beginning of November, then into London, then Exeter for a week (studying towards my Naturopathic qualification), then back to London for a few days, to celebrate my man's birthday, and have our goodbye party with beautiful friends, and now.... in Sedona, Arizona, USA!&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;img style="width: 430px; height: 236px;" src="http://community.sweatybetty.com/expert-katrina/image.axd?picture=2009%2f11%2fseven-canyons-1.jpg" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Wow, Sedona, I'd heard great things about you, but what can I say? You are all that I'd expected and so much more!&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Am currently feeling very spoilt and grateful. I am lushing it up at a very chic Resort, &lt;a title="Seven Canyons Resort" href="http://www.sevencanyons.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Seven Canyons&lt;/a&gt;- I would say, it's the nicest place I have ever stayed in my life! Beautiful villas, totally equipped with all the essentials including a massage table, jacuzzi, king size beds, underfloor heating, outdoor BBQ, and big fireplaces,... Ahhh, what else could a girl need? I'm here with 4 friends, and in the library is a book called "The 5 People You Will Meet in Heaven" - well, we saw this book a few moments after arriving at the Villa, looked around at us and laughed..... At that moment, we all wondered, had we arrived in heaven? Living in this quaint little 13th Century Italian hilltop village is like taking a step back in time. This beautiful wee village is still totally traditional, (to paint the picture there is just 1 patisseria, 1 butcher shop, 1 supermarket, cobbled stoned streets, no cars, 1 cafe). It is possibly the perfect movie set, (actually Gary Rhodes films his cooking videos here!) Spread your fingers wide, making sure that the elbows are in line with, and supporting the wrists. Squeeze the knees into the outer arms, just above the elbows. The arms will form "a ledge" for the knees. Come up onto the toes, lift the hips up, lean forward and slowly lift the legs off the ground., finding your balance. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;**** NOTE: To begin, try lifting one leg off the ground, then putting it down. Then lift the other leg, off the ground.
