Hello everyone! I hope you're all travelling well. I'm getting back on track after health issues. I've decided I won't be blogging for the rest of this year and will return to blogging next year. In the meantime, I'm going to continue with my destash auctions on eBay at favouritevintagefinds from later this month. I'll be auctioning vintage jewellery, vintage and vintage inspired clothing, and vintage handbags.

The two photos above are by the talented Janine White of Janine White Photography. The dress in all the photos in this post is a vintage 70's Gunne Sax dress that I use to own. Janine won the dress in one of my eBay auctions and has become one of my fave photographers.

Hello everyone! Here's a delightful antique post card from the early 1900's from my collection for you. Click to enlarge and right click and save.

One of the earliest dreams I can remember having as a child was going for a ride on a big butterfly. So when I found this post card at one of my fave vintage post card shops, CardCow.com, I had to have it. This card reminds me to stay in touch with my inner child.

I'll have this fabulous vintage 1984 Patricia Smith Moon Bag and fab matching belt (below) up for auction on eBay at favouritevintagefinds for 10 days starting this Sunday night, May 5.

This grey leather bag features needlepoint embroidery on the front and back and a removeable hand painted lacquered panel. It can be used as a shoulder bag or a clutch (the shoulder strap can be tucked inside the bag). The matching belt (below) also features needlepoint embroidery and a hand painted lacquered buckle. Needlepoint Moon Bags and belts were sold as kits. The needlework was do-it-yourself, and when the needlework was completed, the kits were sent to Moon Bags Inc for assembly.

I'll also have the following vintage items up for auction this Sunday: another 80's Patricia Smith needlepoint Moon Bag, a 70's flutter sleeve floral maxi dress, a 70's denim embroidered dress, a 70's floral wool blend maxi skirt, a 50's/60's crinoline petticoat/slip/skirt, and a 70's embroidered flare sleeve top.

My Patricia Smith Moon Bag & Belt Buckle

Patricia Smith Moon Bags were designed by artist Patricia Smith. They were made from the late 1970's until the mid 1990's and weren't mass produced. Today Patricia Smith Moon Bags and accessories are sought after collector's items. There are a variety of styles of Moon Bags and most have distinctive lacquered panels, handles or accents that were hand painted by Patricia Smith.

Here is my navy leather needlepoint Moon Bag from 1984. This bag features needlework on the front and back and a removeable hand painted lacquered panel. It can be used as a shoulder bag or a clutch (the shoulder strap can be tucked inside the bag). Needlepoint Moon Bags and belts were sold as kits. The needlework was do-it-yourself, and when the needlework was completed, the kits were sent to Moon Bags Inc for assembly.

I won this fabulous bag on eBay along with the fab matching hand painted lacquered belt buckle and needlepoint belt canvas below.

I also have two other fab Patricia Smith needlepoint Moon Bags and a fab needlepoint belt (matching one bag) that I'll be auctioning on eBay. Hello everyone! Lovely to be back for 2013. I've been sorting through my stashes of vintage clothing again - working out what I want to keep, give to charity and sell on eBay. I've found many clothes that I'd kinda forgotten about as they've been squirreled away for many years - for example these two dresses (which I'm keeping).

This 70's dress is 100% cotton and is by Alice Stuart. It was kindly given to me by an old neighbour of mine 18 years ago when I was 19. It fitted me perfectly then. It nearly fits me now...

I bought this 70's matte polyester crepe dress (label removed) about five years ago from a thrift shop. It was on the discount rack for only a couple or a few dollars. It didn't fit me at the time, so I squirreled it away. It fits me now, yay! :)

That's my vintage 70's owl pendant above. I found it on eBay. It's goldtone with burgundy enamel on the front, and has moving eyes. The maker is unknown but there is a hallmark on the back - NK 379.

Brooches of Mine

Vintage brooches are just the thing for adding a vintage touch to an outfit. Here are some of my vintage brooches and some of the ways I add them to outfits.

Above is my 50's sterling silver marcasite bow brooch from ebay. It has no brand mark but is marked England. The brooch is attached to a woollen thin scarf/neck tie which is actually a belt from one of my cardigans.

This 50's/60's Winard brooch is from etsy. It's gold filled and features a cultured pearl, and is attached to a scarf tied in a European Loop.

I found this 50's/60's embroidered ballerina brooch on ebay. It's set in a goldtone frame with a plastic front, and is attached to the centre of a top.

I also found this 50's/60's brooch by Krementz on ebay. It's gold filled with blue rhinestones, and is attached to the tie of a tie-front bolero.

These two brooches are attached to the collar area of a cardigan. The little round brooch is an etsy find. It's by Krementz, is gold filled, and features a cultured pearl.

The heart brooch was gifted to me by Helen from Blossom and Cat. Hand made with great care by Helen, the brooch is from her "I heart you" range of brooches...and I heart it! I featured some of Helen's other handmade lovelies in two posts here last year - Blossom and Cat and Their Song Birds. I also featured Helen's swoon-worthy wedding here in 2010 - A Sydney Beach Wedding.

Another ebay find, this is my 50's rhinestone encrusted rhodium plated brooch by Ciro Pearls. It's attached to a macrame bag.

A Few Autumnal Faves

Here are a few of my favourite Autumn flavoured items. My clever Mum made the bag above using vintage upholstery fabric and vintage upholstery trim, both from the 70's.

This umbrella is also from the 70's. It was a lucky ebay win.

Another lucky ebay win for me, this barrel shaped needlepoint and leather bag is from the 50's or 60's. There is a different design on the front and the back.

Two of Georgina's Faves

Georgina is from the lovely blog Perpetual One. Here are two of her favourite vintage finds.

Won at an auction, this charming painting was painted by "Myrla" in 1985.

Georgina sees herself in the little girl standing on the beach, turning back one last time to look at the ocean.

The painting hangs on Georgina's bedroom wall where she likes to look at it when she is resting or reading.

Georgina found this fabulous metal shoe trunk at an antique shop. It's believed to be from the 30's or 40's, and is very rusty from its travels on cruise liners. Inside the trunk there are hand written labels attached to fabric pockets. Georgina's favourite labels says "White Deck Shoes".
