It has been described as a political, social, economic, and religious issue. It affects families and individuals both inside and outside the church and leaves lasting scars and deep pain on all in its wake. Followers of Jesus Christ are called to love our neighbors…even the unborn. We are called to protect and guard the weak and defenseless among us. Maybe you are uneducated and unaware of what abortion is, maybe you have turned a blind eye as it is not your “ministry”, and maybe you just don’t know how to be involved. Take a step out of your comfort zone by listening and sharing this message in full. Let this be the first step in your personal fight against abortion

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Prayer and Evangelism - Colossians 4:2-6

“If you want to be engaged with the furthering of Gods kingdom, you must be involved in speaking to Him.”

Pat Levis

<itunes:author>Pat Levis</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Responding to Difficulties - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

We go through difficult trials in our lives because we live in a fallen world.
4. If we cannot choose God, then did God choose us?

The answer to this question is yes. The Bible clearly teaches that God chooses some, that He predestines some.

5. Why do some people accept the gospel while others reject it?

The gospel is the universal free offer of salvation and it goes out to all men. But because man is spiritually dead and totally depraved, he is unable to respond to this call, and instead resists and ultimately rejects it. This is where the doctrine of irresistible grace comes in. There is another calling and it is specific, not general. This calling is given only to the elect.

Listen to the whole message to hear Shawn dig into each of these answer deeper!

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

The Gathering - Mark 8:22-26

<itunes:author>Josh Petras</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

John

Getting Jesus right is essential. Not just for intellectual assent and understanding, not just so you have the right answers but because what you do with Jesus Christ will determine your eternal destiny. Getting Jesus right is of the utmost importance in your life. You cannot understand your purpose in life, you cannot know God, you cannot be forgiven of your sins or enter heaven without Him. It might seem that your studies are of the utmost importance or your job or your girlfriend are the main priorities in your life, and truly they are important, but I would ask you to put all those things aside and make sure that you are getting Jesus right. We will see that He is not just a good teacher, not a miracle worker, not a religious fanatic, or some figure from history that has no bearing on your life, but rather that He is much, much more.

There are only 2 options. Either you will see Him as an interruption to your way of life and what you are trying to accomplish, thinking you are ok with your own religion, and your own pursuit of God by doing good things, and so reject Him as the Pharisees did. Or you will see Him as the One who died to pay for your sins and rose again 3 days later conquering sin and death. And you will lay your sin stained life down at the foot of His cross and give yourself to Him believing that the only way to be made right with God is through His work, not your own. To know and to believe. As we see Jesus more and more each week, we will be pressed to either follow Him or reject, and in that your eternal destiny is set.

God is 100% sovereign, and man is 100% responsible.

C.H. Spurgeon was once asked if he could reconcile these two truths to each other. “I wouldn't try,” he replied; “I never reconcile friends.” They are not uneasy neighbors; they are not in an endless state of cold war with each other. They are friends, and they work together.

Every person matters to God, you have never locked eyes with someone who doesn’t matter to God. We need to see every person we come in contact with as glorious eternal being or a dreadfully lost soul. Jesus put aside the stereotypical racist attitudes of His day and reached out to those who needed Him. We too must put aside our stereotypical attitudes and reach out to those who need Christ. Friends, you are not better than those around you. Jesus went to great extremes to show that His love supersedes these boundaries. What will you do? Love the unlovely, the difficult, that annoying, those unlike you. The ministering heart sees eternal souls and cares not for the externals, but looks past that and looks at the heart.

We have seen a brief snapshot into the heart of Christ and how He did ministry

1. Ministry is a series of divine appointments

2. Ministry is costly

3. Ministry is about people

There is way too much at stake. Eternity is too long and your soul is way too valuable to ignore it or put off dealing with it, but this is what most people do. Content to enjoy the here and now, convinced that they will have time later, consumed with too many other priorities, they kick the can down the road. Someday but not today. Better later than now. When I feel like it. When I am settled. But not now. I'm too busy. Having too much fun. Too many other things in my life. but friend be careful. Over and over again, the Scripture reminds you to deal with your mortality, to remember that your soul is of an infinite value and to lose your soul is a devastating and unrecoverable loss. This is the message of John 5. In a nutshell, there is a God, one day you will stand before Him face to face and you will give an account for your life, and that will determine your eternal destiny. So, don't mess around with your soul.

Thirst is a universal sensation that all of us have felt, it is an innate desire within us. The body can go for weeks without food, but without water we last only a handful of days. But Jesus isn’t talking about physical thirst, He is talking about spiritual thirst. And if physical thirst is painful, how much more so is the thirst of the soul?

It was as darkness falls, and these great candles were being lit that Jesus announced to them that He is the light of the world. He is the One who would lead His people across the desert of this world and into the promised land. He is the One who saves people from darkness and provides life.

“Jesus Christ alone brings the light of salvation to a sin-cursed world. To the darkness of falsehood He is the light of truth; to the darkness of ignorance He is the light of wisdom; to the darkness of sin He is the light of holiness; to the darkness of sorrow He is the light of joy; and to the darkness of death He is the light of life.”

- John MacArthur

Look at how he changes as the chapter goes on. When asked who Jesus is, v11 The man who is called Jesus healed me. (v17) What do you way about Him? He is a prophet. (v33) He is from God. (v38) He calls Him Lord and He worships. This is always the pathway to spiritual sight, you see and understand who He is and what He has done for you, that leads to belief. Which leads to worship. Jesus healed his blindness with clay restoring his sight, and now He healed his spiritual blindness offering him forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

The world offers happiness, but always based on circumstances, Christ offers joy that is not based on circumstances that change but on His unfailing character that no matter how hard the tempest of life blows and no matter what the devil throws at you, you can rest under the mighty hand of God and have joy.

You are going to die. Take a moment to let that sink in. One morning the sun will rise and you won't see it. Birds will greet the new day with their songs and you won't hear them. Your friends and family will gather round to celebrate your life and then they will put your body in the ground. The world will pause briefly to remember you, and then it will continue on without you. I hope that on that day, the great enemy will be silenced because Christ is in you, and you are raised to life in Him.

The Bible is strangely silent on how guys and girls are to connect in romantic relationships. So what do you do now? Come humbly to God to see what He has to say about relationships.

Jesus First. This is the beginning and the end of relationships. If you love Christ with all you heart, dating will be awesome, and your future marriage will be amazing. The best, happiest, most joyful people are those who love Christ the most.

The principal is simple, you should love God so much that it will infiltrate every part of your life!

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Wisdom in dating:

1.Jesus first

2.Choose wisely

3.Accountability is cool

Get accountable

stay accountable

4.Develop your own convictions

5.Beware of some common pitfalls of dating

Sexual sin

Defraud

Deceit

Desire

Distraction

Humility is a foreign concept to men and especially to young men. Most young men are proud, brash, arrogant, self centered, and self serving. Pride is in the heart of every young man and it is his greatest sin and shortcoming. Young man, it is not a question of whether you struggle with pride, but rather where it exists in your heart and how it is expressed in your life. Humility is viewing yourself rightly in light of who God is.

“God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Jas 4:6

He actively opposes it, wars against it, He hates it. CJ Mahaney says that in every area and in every stage of our christian life, pride is our greatest enemy and humility our greatest friend. God gives grace to the humble, He supports the humble, He undergirds them, and brings help to them in time of need.

Ladies, this message is designed to give you a perspective of who you are to be in a relationship. Similar to the guys, some of these are character qualities while others are actions or behaviors that are part of a woman who seeks to honor God in her relationship.

1. She loves Jesus.

2. She is surrendered.

3. She is content.

4. She is beautiful.

5. She is pure.

6. She knows how to respond.

7. This text tells us that faith is not wishful thinking or a longing for something to happen in the future. I have faith you will pass the test. No, look at this. It is the assurance. It is the conviction. Assurance is translated substance or reality. It is that which provides the basis for trust and reliance. Look at the verse faith assures us, gives substance to that which we, hope for. That is the thing that we have fixed our expectations on. Conviction can be translated as evidence. It is the proof. It is to be convinced to the point of action. You are so sure of what you believe that you are willing to take action, even for things that are not visible to the naked eye.

This verse speak specifically to the creation account and in very simple terms, it tells us that this universe was created by the word of God. The universe came into being because an outside force, in this case God, created by the power of His spoken word. Said a different way, all that you see in this universe, God spoke into existence in 6 literal, 24 hour days. And this can only be accepted by faith. and so the Bible answers the questions about our origins in simple clarity. Our thesis then for tonight is Faith answers life’s biggest questions. Where did you come from? why are you here? where are you going?

For Cain and for his offering He had no regard. God did not accept the sacrifice of Cain. Was it the fact that he brought fruit and not an animal? I don't think so, it was that he came to God with a wrong heart. Sure he acknowledged God as supreme, sure he came with a sacrifice to worship. He came with outward actions that matched his younger brother’s, but his heart was in a different place. How many people, like Cain, come to God their own way? They know they need to come to God, and so they go to church. They recognize that there is a Creator and that they have sinned against Him. They go to mass or to the temple or to some other sacred place and they seek to offer something to God. This is why church is filled on Easter and Christmas. It is a person’s way of saying I know I owe something to God, let me drop some money in the basket when it comes by. Let me sign myself with the cross. Let me do some outward deed to try to appease God. This was Cain and this is most of the world today. They will give some external form of worship, but it is not reflective of their heart.

The story of Enoch is short but sweet. We are not given many details of his life but we will do what we can to piece this together. The author wants to make it clear that he didn't die. Something else happened to him. He also wants us to understand why he didn't die. He is a picture for us. He serves as a primitive illustration of what our lives are to be. He didn't have much knowledge, the bible wasn't written, but what had been passed on to him about God he believed, and his life changed as a result.

These verses tell us what life was like in the time of Noah. It was full of sin. Here we are, just 6 chapters after creation, and already life is very different from what it was in the garden. Adam and Eve sinned, disobeying the command of God, and every form of sin entered the stream of humanity. It takes only 1 set of brothers in Gen 4 for there to be jealousy, anger, and eventually murder. By the time you get to Gen 6, you have God looking down upon the earth and seeing a world full of wickedness and evil. The situation is not getting better it is getting worse. And as God looks down upon His creation, He no longer smiles saying “it is very good” like He said in Gen 1:31, He is now grieved in His heart at how quickly people have chosen to reject Him. His heart has been broken by man.

Whether this is persecution, or loss of job, or loss of friends, or just the sacrifice of laying your body on the alter as a living sacrifice and saying no to what comes naturally. This is what it is to be a Christian. This is the central tenet of faith. You are trusting the promise of God that something better is coming. He has a better plan and a better satisfaction and even though your body and your emotions are screaming for satisfaction, you can say no I choose Christ. I believe. I have faith in His word and I will turn from all that is natural and I will choose Him. This is an act of worship.

Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Do you have faith? Well yes, I have faith. I believe in God. I'm pretty sure anyway that someone or something made all of this. In fact, I am pretty sure that I believe in the Christian God. You know Jesus, the cross, the bible etc. That's a start, but its not what this is talking about. Faith is much more. It is the complete and total trust in another. It is the abandonment of self-accomplishment and self-effort. It is a whole-hearted clinging to the work of Jesus Christ for your salvation. It is coming to Him as a sinner, unworthy of entering His presence, worthy instead of judgment, and laying yourself, completely bankrupt at His feet and asking for His help. And, here it is, trusting or having faith, that He will help you, forgive you, and accept you through what Christ has done on the cross. It is letting go of all that you thought would please God doing good things, putting money into the basket at church, using less profanity and recognizing that the only way to please God is by faith. This is an all out dependence on Him in every part of life. It is trusting that His ways are best. It is having such a firm belief in what the Bible teaches that even though you cant see Him, touch Him, or talk to Him face to face, you have a fixed hope and grounded convictions that he will not let you down.

God gives His best to those who trust Him. It can bring tremendous victories, and maybe even terrible loss. But it also bring Salvation. No matter what is happening, you can trust that God is in control. Jesus is better.

Let’s Go!

As Christians we are called to run, we are called endure, to put everything into this and go after it. We stumble and fall, get distracted often. You turn the other way, away from Christ to toward the passing pleasures of the world. But, consider Christ and what He did for you. Don’t grow weary, don’t loss heart. Think on Him, come back to loving Him as the primary. Not easy but very simple. Fix your eyes on Jesus.

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Fall Classic 2017 - Revelation

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John,

The most important parts of your life. We all have them and the Bible teaches us how to keep them in order. Starting with Christ as first place in everything.

We were made to give praise to another. We are not a product of random chance. The truth, according to the word of God, is God himself made us, in His image, to worship Him.

God gave us our minds as a gift, and the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Luke 6:45 - What comes out of you is a direct reflection of what is inside of you. Here we are looking at the battle to make Christ first in your life and it begins in your mind. It is where it is won and lost.

This week we walk through the keys to healthy relationships that reflects and glorifies Christ.

Technology makes life easier for all of us in this day and age. But, as in many things, we take it and corrupt the gift that it is. We idolize it, put it above God, and worship it. The things we create in this fallen world have a tendency to draw our hearts away from God and cause us to depend on them more then our creator.

Do you spend your time wisely or do you find yourself wasting it? In this message, we talk about the biblical perspective on how we can spend our time honoring the Lord.

The ability to communicate is a gift from God. We are the only beings that can communicate on an intellectual level. We are steeling Gods glory by using speech how ever we please.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Luke 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

Does your money or you possessions control you? Have you considered your money? Have you given to the church? Saved? Budgeted? Is Jesus Christ first in the way you make and spend your money?

It can be tough topic to discuss but it is so important to recognize that the money you get is not your own. It is Gods and you are called to be a good steward of it.

Remember that we can’t do anything without the spirit inside of us. It doesn’t all happen automatically. It is an active process and a grueling fight. A daily battle we are to take one day at a time to mortify flesh and become more like Christ.

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Titus 3

You are to live for God in a godless world. That is our thesis for tonight, and that is the thrust of this whole chapter. And this is difficult isn't it? It is hard to stand for Christ. it is hard to be the odd man out. To say no to your flesh, to guard your tongue, and to shield your eyes. We have been set apart for this purpose. IF you are not a Christian, then let me say that Christians, that is those who have completely submitted their lives to the Lordship of Christ, live to honor Him. They do not live for self, not for pleasure, and not for possessions. Not for relationships, not for sex. They live for Christ. We are given instruction on how to live for God in a godless world.

Here is the simple point, if you understand the salvation of God and you have believed Him for your salvation. You will live differently. This is the motivation for the Christian life. Not duty. It is delight. Not obligation or boring rules. No, it is a heart that longs to say thank you. To live in light of the fact that I have a past and I cannot save myself but HE did, and now I have a hope in heaven. I will say no to sin and yes to righteousness. I will leave this world behind and I will pursue Christ. I will be engaged.

The topic tonight deals with how to handle those who do not agree with the teaching and philosophy of the church. The bible calls these men false teachers; those who use the bible and the people of God to advance their own selfish agendas.

Here in this last section, Paul is taking care of some house keeping and tying up some loose ends but he leaves us with the concept of team, and of relational strength. The fact is that every Christian is important in the quest to build the kingdom of God. You are not a spectator, you are not a useless member of the body of Christ, you are crucial to the success of the mission. Have you ever thought about that? What is your role in the church? what is your ministry? What did God leave you here to do? What spiritual gift has the Spirit bestowed on you that you must exercise in order to advance the cause? Are you a part of the mission? Are you part of the team? Do you understand your role and what you are supposed to be doing in serving the Lord in His church? Many of you are only involved in a minimal way and some of you are not involved at all. But this is not healthy and it is not right. Each of us is part of a greater team and need to be engaged. Paul will help each of us tonight to get a right perspective of our involvement in the service of the King. Our thesis tonight is simple: Understanding your role in ministry.

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Titus 2

True, born again Christians are different. They are different in what they say, different in how they live, different in what drives them. 1 John tells us that the main drive for the non-christian is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life. That is girls, gold, and glory. But this is not so with Christians. Those in Christ, who have experienced the grace of God are different, they are changed from the inside out.

Getting old, it's not something that most people look forward to, but it is a part of life. In our culture especially, people try to avoid getting old. But no matter how hard you try, you cant escape it. But this is a small view of life and a misunderstanding of what the Scripture teaches about all of life. God has a purpose and a plan for us in every stage of life.

We are going to spend the next 2 weeks studying young women in Titus 2:4. Paul paints a picture of what the ultimate woman looks like, and I will do my best to break these character qualities down in a clear and effective way.

We are going to spend the next 2 weeks studying young men in Titus 2:6-8. Paul paints a picture of what the ultimate man looks like, and I will do my best to break these character qualities down in a clear and effective way.

1. The Ultimate Man Loves Jesus Christ

2. The Ultimate Man is Teachable

3. The Ultimate Man Is a Leader

4. The Ultimate Man Is in Control of Himself

5.
Are there unsaved people at your job? Are they happy? Do they complain? Do they work hard when the boss isn't looking? Do you have an opportunity without even opening your mouth to live out your faith in a way that is compelling to them? Listen, one of the main reasons you have a job is so that you can be in contact with the lost. So that you can demonstrate the way that Jesus would work. So that your life would speak.

The question that we need to ask is what is the point of work? Why is it here? Why did God give it to us? Why is it so difficult? How can I do my job in a way that honors Christ? do I need to love what I do? Why does God have me spending so much of my life doing this one thing? what does it all mean? We are going to answer those questions tonight. I am going to roll through a bunch of points. And we will not be in a text of scripture tonight. Last time we worked our way through the ultimate employee in Titus 2:9-10. Here we will take a topical approach about work.

Salvation is a gift given by God to sinners. It is not based on your merit that is the amount of good things you have done. it is not based on your family heritage or nationality. It is not based on intellectual knowledge or religious duty. It is based solely on the grace of God. It is His work in the life of the sinner. Grace is the unmerited favor of God to the undeserving. We come to the text before us tonight, and it is one of the high points of the New Testament. For here, we see the plan of God as it pertains to sinners. We see His salvation. And one more time, we will see that grace changes everything it has been our theme for all of chapter 2. And we will see in very clear terms tonight that grace indeed changes everything. I want to show you from v11-14 3 ways that grace changes everything.

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Titus 1

What about you? Are you a servant? A doulos? A slave of Christ? When he says go do you go? When He says speak do you open your mouth? When He commands you to do something do you obey? The servant of God remembers that life is not about you.

We see right off the bat is that there is a priority in leadership. Because as the leaders go, so go the church. If the leaders are weak, the church will be weak, and so the most important part of the church is the leadership.

Moral character, and how he is viewed in the church. No stone is left unturned when selecting a man who will be an elder. The point that I would like to drive home is that what is most important to God in the area of leadership is not all of the various roles and functions of a leader, but who he is as a man. So I will say it again, leadership is all about character.

1. Examine your gender

2. Examine your motivation

3. Examine your testimony

4. Examine your marriage

5. Examine your parenting

6. Examine what you are not

Anywhere you find God’s truth, Satan will be there to oppose it. From the very beginning this is true. In the garden Satan denied the truth of God by saying you wont die, you will be like God. The OT is full of false teachers. Think of the prophets of Baal, or all of the other false religions of the day that encroached on the people of God, think of the false prophets and those who set up idols to worship. In the NT, you had this develop mostly into the Jewish tradition of ritual and tradition. In the early church and beyond you constantly have those inside and outside the church purveying something other than what the Scripture teaches. Even today, the universal church is weak because false teachers have crept in unawares as Peter says and have infiltrated the church. Here is the simple reality—anywhere you have the truth of God, Satan will protest. So let me say it a different way, false teachers are everywhere.

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:duration>00:54:10</itunes:duration><itunes:image href="https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/564c90e7e4b02e3dc74e94b9/1451378516769-GDV2UP9NHYXFEI78H2BG/FBC+College+Ministry+-+Front+Side.jpg?format=1500w&content-type=image%2Fjpeg"/>

Matthew 7

In Matthew 7:1-6 Jesus will show us how to not be judgmental towards others

Private prayer is your spiritual pulse that reveals the consistency and the depth of your intimacy with God. You can attend church each Sunday, you can go to community group, you can faithfully serve in ministry, but how do you pray? You may podcast countless sermons, build an impressive library of Christian books, and even put a NOTW sticker on your car, but do you labor in prayer? You may be part of the training center, you may be a student of theology, you may even lead a ministry, but are you fervent in prayer?

In this sermon Shawn gives the context for the sermon and takes a look at what it means to be blessed and how each of the attributes given by Christ are evident in the life of a believer.

We continue our look at Jesus' introduction to the sermon on the mount. This week we cover why the be poor in spirit, mourning and the meek are those whom God blesses.

This week we look at what it means to hunger and thirst for righteousness and what it means to be merciful.

This week we consider what it means to be peacemakers and called sons of God.

This week we take a solemn look at persecution and how God both blesses and preserves his people in it.

This week we look at the unique role Christians have of displaying God to the lost world from Matthew 5:13-16

Matthew 5:17-20 This week we fail to look at how meat is murder. Instead, we consider Christ's revelation that the Law's prohibition against murder also addresses the heart that is full of anger and hatred toward others.

Jesus' strong words about the destructiveness of lust and the need for radical repentance in the Sermon on the Mount.

This week we took a look at what Jesus has to say about divorce.

What does Jesus have to say about making oath's? In Matthew 5:33-37Jesus shows us how simply telling the truth and being honest with our words should keep us from having to make oaths.

The desire for revenge is a byproduct of the fall. You see, before the fall, man was perfect, made in God’s image, and therefore sharing in many of the divine characteristics...

There is something different about you. You are a Christian, and you are different from others. Anyone can go the first mile, it is the Christian who goes the second. You are not the natural man, but because of the Spirit’s work in you, you are a new creation with new desires, and your love is the love of Christ in you.

<itunes:author>Shawn Farrell</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>The blessed members of the kingdom</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>This week we introduce Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, the greatest sermon ever preached.
