Finally got some time to finish work-in-progress beading projects. Having huge gaps between beading sucks on multiple level...

First of all, I love beading and not having the time to do it as often as I would like to makes life less enjoyable.

Then, by the time I sit down again to finish or write down a project I forgot how I did it at the first place. Now I can retrace my steps... Excellent!

But... retracing my steps leads to new ideas, and that's exactly how Mia happened :) Originally it was a ring, and when I tried to figure out how I made it (without cutting it up lol) it just occurred to me how cool it would look as a bracelet. And tadah!

Here is my new bracelet, Caitlin. It is made with Super Duo beads, pearls and Swarovski crystals. It's an easy enough project even if you are new to beading and works up very fast.

I really missed my beads, beading is one of main source of relaxation. So one day I just turned off my phone. Closed my browser. And the office (erm... bedroom) door too. Without distraction, magic happens. In the form of beading in my case :)

It's hard to show how thrilled and anxious I am at the same time. I have countless ours of work in it and could only hope that it will be loved by you guys.

We launched on Saturday and the amount of positive feedback and encouragement I've got since is absolute mind blowing! Playing with Super Duos: Wings Bracelet

I have lot's of fun with the two hole beads, and very happy to have my beading Mojo back :) It seems spring has a good effect on inspirationg...

The bracelet looked like several wings on top of each other hence the name.

The first version was the green & blue and I was very pleased with the contrast between the colours. I recently bought the Jet Picasso Super Duos and really wanted to try them but finding a colour I liked with it was more difficult than I would have thought, but finally the hole thing just came together, and now I like this even more than the green-blue version!

I re-beaded one of my pendant to take pics for the tutorial but by the time I've finished the beading it turned out the be a bracelet... :)

I thought it's only fair to name it after the pendant which inspired it.

I made it in shades of green but highly tempted to make a white version with purple Swarovski Rivoli stones.

Some unfinished business

This bold bracelet was waiting for me since June...Can't believe how long it took, but finally it's finished!

I made 3 versions: Smoked Topaz & copper twin beads, Metallic blue & matte graphite, Dorado & matte graphite.

I named it LEDA: she was the mother of the twin brothers Castor and Pollux in Greek mythology. Their story is quite interesting (you can look it up in Wikipedia). The name refers to the twin beads I used - I'm getting addicted to them and the Super Duo beads too... It needs LOTS of bicones, but you won't regret it, it will sparkle like crazy!!!

Anyway, it's not for shy girls, you will see... I've listed the tutorial on the usual sites, I link here the one on ETSY,

Can't believe how behind I'm with blogging... Will try to catch up in the next few days (weeks) and post a few pictures.

A few things got done since my last blog post, here is the first, a wide super duo bracelet called Astral. I'm working simultaneously on our website, new tutorials and an update/face lift on the old tutorials so they will be all nice and printer friendly.

I also made a promise to myself to finish a box of unfinished / just started beading projects, we will se how well it goes... To be honest I could do with an extra 10 hours each day but who doesn't?

Now it's back in use again.

PS: The name Terra has nothing to do with the almost-dust on my tray. Not consciously anyway...

Going to try a third colour too, I need to take photos for the tutorial.

Maybe black-blue? Hm. I have to go through my Tila box...

Greetings from brighter side of the life!

Our complicated life started to go to the right direction and I enjoy my extra time I can spend with beading.

My journey with twin beads continues. I'm having lots of fun with these unusual two hole beads and every project leads to even more ideas. And I'm happy to try them all...

Found new addiction, I'm doing Cubic Right Angle Weave day and night. And in between whatever it's called. Loving it.

Also, as you may noticed my listing images changed and they are not alone. I also gave a face lift to my PDFs. They will be super printer friendly from now on. The Hidden Pebbles Bangle already got the new PDF and as my time allows I will change the PDF for all my tutorials. I think the new designs (photo and the pdf) are really pretty and can't wait to get some feedback on them from you, guys.

From tomorrow I'm working on the tutorial for Simple Spark and I also have an ongoing project which is called the "Ultimate Peyote Guide" and I hope to finish that one this week too.

Beading again

After a super long (4 months) break I finally have found the time to bead again.

Our life is upside down since December and the last year was pretty tough anyway.

Some of you probably know that my girl was diagnosed with autism about a year ago and after that moment everything started to go sideway big time. We tried everything to find her a nursery or a school where she can get the right development and being looked after during the day (she is 5 years old) but there was none.

After 1 year of strugle we were techniquly forced to move back to the UK because the lack of development and care in my country. We moved in January and the last 2 months we were filling papers, seeing doctors, and organising interviews to find her the right place where she gets the right development and education. She is a very special and loving little girl who needs help and we were willing to do anything to get it for her.

It was (is) a very stressful period in our life but I'm happy to say it's worth the effort: Babe will start in her school on the 16th of April. I couldn't be happier :)

Now that our life started to be a little bet more predictable and we have filled most of the forms and seen most of the professionals I finally found some time to bead.

This bangle is a super fast and simple piece, made with cubic right angle weave and really versatile.

I finished two colour variation so far, a green ...

... and a white and also working on a black with colourful pattern in it. It only takes a few hours to bead up and very comfortable to wear.

I kind of like it. It's noticeable for sure, not for shy girls...

Working on the tutorial, the drawings are done, hope to finish the instructions in the next 2 days and will list it for sale as soon as I'm done :)
