My grandparents are reunited

My Nannie Jean went to see Jesus on February 4, 2012. She will be greatly missed but she is in paradise now. Reunited with my grandfather and all my grandparents before that. I was able to visit with her on Friday before her passing. Before I left she gave me a big kiss on the cheek. Being the first and oldest grandchild I know when I was born I was blessed with the same kiss welcoming me into this world. I am so blessed to have had my Nannie for 44 years. My Nannie loved butterflies - she was beautiful and graceful just like a butterfly. The good memories and the love she had for me will forever be in my heart.

FRIEND.... webster does not give an accurate meaning of the word friend. My definition would be this: A person that God places in your path as you travel through life.

You may meet them as a child - as a teenager - as a young adult - as an adult. I truly believe that God places these people in your life for a reason. I have worked four jobs over the past 23 years and there has always been several people that only God could have placed in my path. Even on my husband's last job God placed someone in our life.

When you lease expect it, and when you think that you are at rock bottom - one of these special friends will bless you. It may be a card - a prayer - or just a friendly hello that will lift you up and bless you. These friends hold a special place in my heart. I cannot express my sincere appreciation for them. Let me say that I love each and everyone of them and I thank God for placing them in my path. Friends are a blessing and I cherish each one.

The Week Before Thanksgiving...

The week before Thanksgiving and all thru the house
My heart full of emotions but I am quite as a mouse

I lay my head down at night - sweetpea fast asleep
I talked to God and lift up my prayers for him to keep

I dream of the day that I can provide for my child's every need
and not worring about how to buy groceries and gas
but to help others as they have helped me

My heart hurts that I cannot provide my family with
a nice Thanksgiving Dinner with all the fixins
instead of what ever is in the cupboard - which is mostly soup
I may just start a new Family tradition this year......

I dream of making it the Best Thanksgiving for Sweetpea to have -
Love - Family - Excitement -Fun and sharing Jesus

I will decorate and polish the house and make it warm and happy
Hide my emotions and put on a smile and serve them hot chocolate

We will decorate the tree and watch the game - I will yell " Roll-Tide "
as the others yell " War - Eagle ". Listen to Christmas music and
watch the fire place glow. Plowboy may even pluck a tune on the banjo

Please keep my family in your prayers.... I just needed an outlet today.

Prayers for ME!!!!

Hello out there to all my blog friends and beyond...

I am in need your prayers. Since the first of the month my life has turned up side down. My husband lost his mother on October 26, 2011 and that was a shock and still can't seem to shake it. His family is not speaking to him ( only family he has is his brother ). My grandmother who is 85 was in the hospital but came home on Friday. On Saturday - my mom goes into the hospital and is in surgery as I type. She is having to have some of her toes and partial foot taken off becuase of infection from diabetes. Me - well I think that I am loosing it. I just want to run away. I worry about problems that I can't fix. I worry about having enought money to buy groceries and gas with. ( Just how far can I stretch 127.00 till November 30) I don't have family to turn to. I had rather ask a stanger for help then ask family). I worry about where I will get food to fix for Thanksgiving. I worry about how to buy Christmas for SweetPea. I worry about what crafts to try to make and sell ( because I don't have the supplies I need to do this with ) I sit and think about all this and then try to run my house and work full-time and work a part-time job.( only 2 hours a week or so ). I try to keep my spirits up for Sweetpea becuase he is excited about Christmas.

What is a Mom to do? Lift it all up to a higher power and put my faith in the almighty. Like the cub scout motto says: DO YOUR BEST

I am going to DO MY BEST and lift this all up in prayer and I ask you also to lift this up in prayer and ask our God Almighty to take care of me and my family and send the angels I need to help take these worries away.

My mom is having surgery today. She will be having some of her toes removed. She is a diabetic and has not taken care of her self like she should have.

My husband lost his mother yesterday - My son lost his grandmother - and I lost my mother-in-law. We will cherish her memories until we meet again in heaven.

There is alot that can not be explained on this webiste. We are part of a very disfunctional family that do not see eye to eye on things.

SweetPea joined Cub Scouts this year. We are all having so much fun.

We have attended the fishing rodeo at Oak Mountain State Park

Cub Scout Safari at the Zoo

Breakfast after our overnight camp out at the Shelby Iron Park, Shelby,Alabama
The Boy Scouts treated us all to Supper and Breakfast. All of it was cooked over a camp fire. It was so good.

I made it thru September 30 but not with a smile

September 30 turned out just like I thought it would and worst.....

Inventory at 7:24 am
Inventory at another location at 8:00 am
School calls at 8:45 am with child throwing up
Run and pickup child take home to Dad
Go back and finish inventory at current location
Finish inventory and return to office location to finish reports
completed and balanced reports and left going home at 11:50 to tend to sick child

Needless to say I was beat............ note: after getting home sick child seems to be feeling fine and going strong ( HOW WHEN WHY )

I made it and now taking one day at a time until my worked is closed for the year.

WHY AM I STRESSING OVER SEPTEMBER 30

September 30, 2011 - I will be glad when it has come and gone why!!

September 30, 2011 is on a Friday

It is the last day of our working year in Accounting.

I have to do inventory at our warehouse and transportation departments

It is our local high school football " Homecoming Game " Our office is across from the high school.

There will be a parade that day and school gets our around 12:00 - 12:30

So that means I have to have my inventory done before 11:30-11:45 go and pickup my husband so he can have the car. we will then have to get Sweetpea from school and I have to come back to work to finish my inventory paperwork. The parade will start around 2:00ish. So, I want to go and watch that for a few minutes.

By then I will need a bottle of aleve. Then work until time to go home and
then get to go home and rest before the football game. We enjoy these win or loose.
Also since it is homecoming their will be a special guest this year because it just so happens that the Governor of Alabama graduated from my high school so he is coming home for that. and to make matters worse he is my husband's family so there will be a reception after the ballgame - so all alumni and family will gather at the rec building for refreshments and memories.

HOW EXCITING IS ALL OF THAT.....

I am need of earning extra money. I like to craft, cook and research geneaology.
I would like to find extra income to help my regular 8-4 job. I would like to make between $200.00 - $300.00 extra each month somehow.

Maybe something I can do on the computer, at home or a couple nights a week.

I am open to any and all suggestions..... Thanks in advance for your advice

Back to School..... SweetPea is so excited !!!

Back to school on Thursday... Sweetpea is so excited. Sweetpea is an only child so he gets bored with his Mom and Dad. He does not like to be involved in sports - he is afraid he will get hurt. His dad tries to get him out and about on the farm to do chores and fix fences and all the farm stuff that needs to be done. He complains that it is too hot. ( and he is right it is too HOT ) Sweetpea is a perfect chair potato. He has certain shows that he likes to watch on PBS. One of his favorites if " Wild Kratz ".

School will be a good thing for Sweetpea. He will be with his friends, have PE and will be learning alot this year. Second grade ( I think ) is the most important grade in elementary school. This is where he will be able to perfect his reading - writing and math. Sweetpea is a good reader and writes very well. His math is good and he is learning everyday. He does not like to read stories but likes to read anything that is a how-to-book. Loves Lego's and science. He likes to just sit and read his dictionary. We look forward to a good year. I can't believe that he is already in second grade. Where has the time gone?

The Dallas Perry Band

Plowboy and I enjoyed Music on Main Street in Columbiana, friday evening. It was a nice evening and very enjoyable music. The music was from The Dallas Perry Band from Montevallo, Alabama. The above picture is Dallas Perry.

He is a nice Young man and is very talented. I had heard of his name for a few years now. He is a member of the FFA String band from Montevallo High School. I knew his FFA advisor. His mentor - Mr. Keith Adair was a wonder person and enjoy every aspect of teaching. He was a good man and lost his life to cancer a couple of years ago.

Dallas Perry is an exceptional performer and singer. He will be playing on August 27, 2011 at Brierfield State Park for a benefit for Tornado relief. He along with seven other bands will be playing from 2:00 until midnight. Dallas Perry will be performing at 7:00. The cost will be 10.00 with all of the proceeds being given to families in need from the recent tornado's that were not able to get fema help.

Look Dallas Perry up on facebook and follow - he would appreciate it. He is selling t-shirts to make money to travel to Nashville to record a cd.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

It is great to be "44" today. My grandmother made me feel good by asking if I turn 41 today. Nannie told me that I was not suppose to be "44". I don't feel like it. Well somedays I do, like every morning when I don't want to get out of the bed. By the afternoon I am feeling better. I have been having hot flashed like crazy lately and it gets the best of me. Maybe the change is starting to take place.

I am blessed to be 44 and glad that I have family and friends to share it with.

When life deal's you lemons......

When life deals you lemons..... I feel right now that I am digging out of a batch of lemons... someone please throw in some water and sugar so I can have a happy dance. I sit hear at work trying to do my job and all I want to do is cry. Well, I am actually crying.. WHY!! well I get up this morning to a flat front tire on my car. Somehow I picked up a roofing nail. School starting next week which will be added expense along with lunch money - supplies - and new underclothes for Sweetpea and then a flat tire. Tomorrow - I will turn 44 years old. We have meet and greet the teacher tomorrow. What a way to spend you birthday... not that my birthdays are worth celebrating. No one else seems to even think about it. YES I am having a pity party for my self. I have always worked and I think I need a break. I am the only income in my home right now, so I have to work. I love my job and would not trade it for the world.. but everyone needs a break from it every once in a while. Do you every feel like you are not appreciated. I do all the time - at home and at work. Just a few kind words would go along way. A thank you for a job well done or a thank you for fixing a good supper and taking care of us. A homemade card would do the trick. I don't every get cards on my birthday - mother's day. All it takes is a piece of paper and some crayons. All I would like is to have a little happiness....

ANNE'S PLACE .... YUM YUM FOOD

Annie's Place is now open in Columbiana, Alabama. I have been waiting for a while for her to open and today was the first day of business. It is in walking distance of my work well actually I can see it from my office window. Annie is a wonderful lady that I first met in high school. She works in the lunchroom at our local high school and my mom worked with her for years. Everyone loves Mrs. Annie and her cooking is wonderful. Annie's Place is homecooking buffet style eatry. Her menu will change on a daily basis to offer good country cooking at its best. She also opens at 5:00am for a great breakfast. I love a good breakfast.

Today when I went over ( which was kinda late ) she was almost out of everything. She met me at the front door and told me - you better get on in here they have about wipe me out of everything. What was left all looked great - I had pinto beans - cornbread and coleslaw with sweet tea. All this for $2.70. Where can you get a homecooked lunch for that and the best part is the drink is included with your meal.

On the bar today - from what I could tell Annie's Place had the following:
Salad - Coleslaw ( which was wonderful ) - potatoe salad - spagehetti salad
pinto beans - northern beans - green beans - sweet potato cassarole - bread pudding - fried porkchops - turnip greens - chicken - rolls - and I am not sure what else was on there.

I want to talk with Annie and hopefully I can talk her into letting me start her a blog and post her menu on it everyday that way to keep eveyone informed about the great little country restaurant.

I thought after 22 years of marriage we would be able to have a nice homecooked meal and enjoy the evening..... WRONG.........let's just say that it was not a good evening and I went to bed without supper.
