Feels Like Magic http://feelslikemagic.com Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power. Thu, 13 Mar 2008 03:19:20 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.2 en I *Am* Made Of Money! http://feelslikemagic.com/i-am-made-of-money/ http://feelslikemagic.com/i-am-made-of-money/#comments Thu, 13 Mar 2008 03:14:07 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/i-am-made-of-money/ How many times did you hear, “What do you think I am? Made of money?!!” from an adult when you, as a child, asked for some money to spend to your liking?

I heard it quite a bit from my father. (

Late last fall I started a photography business, which has been a dream of mine since I was about 9 years old.

Since doing so, I’ve had to learn how to post process my photos. It’s been a steep learning curve (and my gosh, I feel I’ll be learning forever), but I’m having a ton of fun while I’m learning.

One of the latest techniques I’m learning about is how to apply textures to my photos, an artistic choice. A person can take a photo of a textured object or background (like lace or sand) and apply it to a photo of a person, play around a bit, and create an interesting piece of art.

So, not long ago the thought, “I’m not made of money” popped into my head and I immediately began to counter that thought. If everything is, as I believe, made of the same stuff (energy, Source, etc.), then money and I are made of the same thing.

Playing around with it, I came to the conclusion that I *am* made of money! D

After working with the photo textures I saw a photo of money I have hanging on my wall, and put the two ideas together: I could create a visual example of myself made of money!

So here it is, with a photo taken in 2006 (I really need to get a new photo, lol).

When working with textures, a photographer usually removes the texture from the face and other important parts, but I did it the other way around (though, technically, everything is made of God-stuff, as we call it in my family).

What do you think?

If you’d like me to do the same for you, I’d gladly do it for a donation (amount of your choice) or a positive energy exchange. I can make the money more or less prominent, as you wish.

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.

All Jewelry Half-Off At My Old Site http://feelslikemagic.com/all-jewelry-half-off-at-my-old-site/ http://feelslikemagic.com/all-jewelry-half-off-at-my-old-site/#comments Mon, 26 Nov 2007 17:54:44 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/all-jewelry-half-off-at-my-old-site/ Boy, things have been really busy here since my last post in October; I can’t believe it’s almost the end of November already!

I’ll keep this short, though, because explaining it all would take a while. You could check out this link if you’re really interested in what I’ve been doing, however.

This post is to let you know that I’m finally closing down my old site, even though the shop on this site still isn’t working. I’ve got a possible solution for getting the shop open here, which I’ll probably do after the holidays - keep your eyes open for that.

Until then, I want to let you know that I’ve marked the remaining items at Little Things off by about 50%. That’s a huge savings!!

It might not be exact because I did the math in my head, as I was too lazy to get up and find a calculator (if I had left the computer, somebody else would have taken over it!! laugh.gif ).

Once something is gone, it’s gone for good, so get it now. They’ll make wonderful holiday gifts!

You’ll find everything here: Little Things

Most of the items are in the bracelets and necklaces section, but there is a child’s bracelet still available.

There are a bunch of wonderful barrettes in the “other things” section that are not on sale (because they’re made by a friend of mine), but if you’re interested in buying a bunch, contact me and we’ll work out a deal!

I’m not renewing the site next month, so you have two or three weeks until the site shuts down. Hurry to check it out so that somebody else doesn’t get what you’re interested in.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.

Law Of Attraction Carnival #28: LOA In Images http://feelslikemagic.com/law-of-attraction-carnival-28-loa-in-images/ http://feelslikemagic.com/law-of-attraction-carnival-28-loa-in-images/#comments Tue, 09 Oct 2007 16:40:19 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/law-of-attraction-carnival-28-loa-in-images/ Oh my, the time has finally arrived for me to host this carnival. I’ve been excitedly anticipating seeing the posts that would be submitted for this theme!

I imagined writing something clever about “a picture being worth a thousand words”…

I imagined having a difficult time deciding which posts to feature because they ALL fit the theme…

Yet as I began to browse through the entries, I realized that I might not get any to feature; that is, there may not have been any entries that fit the theme.

In fact, I noticed that most of the posts not only didn’t fit the theme, they didn’t even have one picture in their posts! (

I was quite disappointed. I had imagined all sorts of images creatively related to the Law of Attraction! And I must admit, being a stay-at-home-mom with homeschooled kids, I figured this theme would save me a lot of time.

Usually it takes me two or three days to read through the Law Of Attraction Carnivals, and I certainly don’t read every submission. This time I had to read the submissions - more than 25 (and counting, as submissions can be made through Monday) - and write about them as well.

Images would have been a lot easier for me! )

Edward, who owns the Carnival, told me that I had free reign to include whichever posts I felt best fit with this edition. As I read through the entries, I heard some cackling in my head, as apparently a little dictator in me was excited to wield some power:

Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha… this one doesn’t make it in… neither does this one… mwa-ha-ha…

But I stuck that little power-hungry guy back in his corner and decided to include as many as I could into the Carnival - even if it took some stretching.

So here we go…

RIDES

Thanks to flickr's b-real for the photo of the ride

Mike at Spooky Action with The Key To ‘The Secret’ In One Picture - This is my favorite entry of them all! I am grateful he left a link to this post in the comments of my reminder post, or else it wouldn’t have even made it in (thanks, Mike!).

Zoe at Law of Attraction for Inspired Living brings us Law of Attraction in Action: synergy and symbiotics - I’d personally like to hear the story behind this set of photos, to understand it better. Still, Zoe applied the theme to her post and I appreciate it very much (though you can share the story with us if you feel drawn to, Zoe!).

Melanie at Be Alive*Believe*Be You didn’t submit this entry, but I was hoping she would (or that somebody else would submit something similar). Then Edward mentioned I could add things I had found elsewhere, and I knew immediately I would find a post of hers that would fit well. Please check out Melanie’s journal pages at Powerful Intimacy.

Michelle at Conscious Destiny didn’t submit this next entry, either, but the moment it came to my email box I knew I had to link to it somewhere in this edition. Check out her video about how to create a treasure map - in 2 minutes (sped up) - at 1,2,3 Treasure Mapping.

The photo above is a treasure map I created back in July. My plan is to do a bunch of little ones like that one (it’s done inside of a CD case) according to the areas of the feng shui bagua and place them up on my wall in that same fashion.

For the next part of the Carnival, I am going to list all of the submissions which fit into any of the categories from previous Carnivals, in no particular order. Because I’ve already said so much D , I’ll leave out the synopsis of each post.

FOOD

These last submissions don’t seem to fit in any of of the themes from the past carnivals, but would be great themes for future carnivals!

Words

Raymond from ZenChill’s post about Switchwords, was interesting, particularly because I know so many people who have used them successfully. I’ve even taught my kids REACH to good effect.

Attention

I think that Bert’s focus on attention would make a great theme for an upcoming carnival!

Lorraine’s post Power of Attraction - Luck or Brilliance? fits well here or in the next category.

Beliefs

As Alex states, everything happens to use because of what we believe. Here, he shares about what he believes - it’s very inspiring.

How NOT to use LOA

I’ve seen a few posts of this style and always find them a useful twist; I believe a whole carnival could be dedicated to this theme. -D Check out Anastasia’s post 5 ways to fail with the Law of Attraction for an idea of what I mean.

That sums up this edition of the Law of Attraction Carnival. If your submission didn’t make it in, I apologize - I truly tried to find something in everybody’s post that would speak to some aspect of LOA.

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.

The Making Of A Mind Movie - Part 1 http://feelslikemagic.com/the-making-of-a-mind-movie-part-1/ http://feelslikemagic.com/the-making-of-a-mind-movie-part-1/#comments Sat, 06 Oct 2007 04:05:13 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/the-making-of-a-mind-movie-part-1/ A few months back, I was extremely fortunate to win a membership with MindMovies.com, which I describe as a treasure map in motion. I had read about them back when they first opened shop, but it wasn’t until I read Vickie’s post about her movie that I became interested in making one for myself.

I decided to go about it on my own, figuring if it was so simple that I could do this without being shown how, and also not trusting that I’d have the funds to purchase a membership.

Thanks to hollaBackpackers from flickr for the use of the photo

To make a long story short, I spent a lot of time and energy trying to find ways to create this movie. While I found what I would need to know, I would have had to invest a bunch more time and energy to learn how to actually make the movie.

Furthermore, the MindMovies.com site offers so much more with their membership, like:

  • 1-time payment of$37. NO recurring fees. Nothing else to buy
  • Immediate Access to our tutorials and members area
  • Neuro - Linguistic essentials for programming your subconscious
  • Download and Keep all required software
  • Keep, edit or make more Mind Movies forever
  • Suitable for any PC or Mac OS 8 and above
  • and a bunch of bonuses (check out the site to see what these are as they keep adding to it)

So I set my intention to get the membership, and asked Dave to gift it to me for Mothers Day. )

I knew I was getting it, but Mothers Day came and passed without the funds to purchase the membership. Still, I had put it out there that I would indeed have this, and soon won a membership.

Back when I won, a membership was only two months long. About a month after I received my membership, MindMovies.com made the membership available for an unlimited time.

I was relieved because I wasn’t getting around to working on my movie, and time was passing quickly. Yes, I was feeling the pressure to get this done, and now I could relax about it.

Completely excited to get my movie completed, I signed in and began the process.

You can read about the first few steps in Part 2. D

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.

All the links continue to work, and individual posts look “normal”.

I believe it’s from my laughter post; I think that YouTube video skewed things a bit. I’m not sure why it would have, as I’ve embedded a YouTube video before without a problem.

I’ve sent off an email to my designer and am setting the intention that it is fixed quickly and easily. P In the meantime, get your entries submitted to the Law of Attraction Blog Carnival and look for it here next week!

Editing to add: yes, it was the video. I finally did a search on the ‘net and found out how to fix the problem, ‘cuz I had that carnival coming up. I am so grateful for the internet and the helpful people in all the myriads of communities there!! I’m amazed almost daily!

One Week Left To The Law Of Attraction Carnival http://feelslikemagic.com/one-week-left-to-the-law-of-attraction-carnival/ http://feelslikemagic.com/one-week-left-to-the-law-of-attraction-carnival/#comments Tue, 02 Oct 2007 19:32:40 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/one-week-left-to-the-law-of-attraction-carnival/ A week from today, on October 9th, the Law of Attraction Carnival will be posted here at Feels Like Magic.

This is your reminder to to get your posts submitted! There is a theme, as

a few weeks ago: Law of Attraction in Images. I believe that your post will be “featured” if it fits the theme. D

From my previous post:

It will be kind of like those Wordless Wednesday posts you see on some blogs. The theme is Images of the Law of Attraction.

This means that the post should be just an image of the Law of attraction. I will accept posts that have a description of the image if the author feels it is necessary. However, the challenge is to try to have the image say everything.

You know… “an image is worth a 1000 words” kind of thing.

You have a few weeks now. Start paying attention to how you envision the Law of Attraction, and submit your entries at the Law of Attraction Blog Carnival page.

Now get crackin’ - find those images, take pictures of your treasure maps, create some digital art, or do something completely unexpected and submit your entries soon!!!

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.

There’s Always Something To Laugh About http://feelslikemagic.com/theres-always-something-to-laugh-about/ http://feelslikemagic.com/theres-always-something-to-laugh-about/#comments Sun, 30 Sep 2007 00:22:34 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/theres-always-something-to-laugh-about/ Yes, I want to be happy. And I love writing about it.

But I’ve been taking it all too seriously!

Thanks to Vanessa Pike-Russell from flickr for the use of the photo

I felt this the other day as I was running through the library, there to pick up my holds (I am so grateful the library will pull books for me and put them on a shelf so I can make a quick stop just to pick them up!).

I felt a pull to pick up a book that would make me laugh. Abraham might say that my Inner Being was talking to me; I call it my intuition or my spirit guides.

I knew just what would make me laugh - any of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.

That night, Monstrous Regiment on my dresser, I chose a card from my kids’ Magical Unicorns Oracle Cards deck (okay, the deck is really mine, but I *did* get it so that the kids could get simple spiritual messages - and they love it!).

The card: Laughter

You need a good laugh!

It goes on to tell me I’ve been too serious lately and it’s time to lighten up (oooh, be gentle with me, Unicorns). It gave some great advice when it said,

Sometimes the best way to heal a situation is to step away from it. Can you read a funny book or watch a comedy on TV? Can you get together with friends and tell silly jokes?

I like the friends part, but will leave silly jokes to the kids ) . And what a coincidence (not!) that I had picked up a funny book just a few hours earlier.

Learn to feel joy, no matter what’s happening around you. Laughter and joy are magical because they bring happy situations into your life.

These cards are great for teaching kids about LOA!

Anyway, I got an email today with a link to a YouTube video that really made me LOL (that’s laugh out loud for those of you who haven’t had email for a while, or who don’t text), and I felt the need to share.

I watched it a couple of times and laughed out loud each time! Here’s the link to the video, and I’m embedding it below this (apparently those of you who signed up through FeedBlitz don’t get the videos???).

Next time you need a laugh, YouTube is a great place to go! Check out the Umbilical Brothers (Shane and David from the Upside Down Show) if you get a chance. D

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.

Every Single Thought You Think Is A Belief http://feelslikemagic.com/every-single-thought-you-think-is-a-belief/ http://feelslikemagic.com/every-single-thought-you-think-is-a-belief/#comments Fri, 28 Sep 2007 17:46:59 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/every-single-thought-you-think-is-a-belief/ Do you know what you believe about your world?

Have you ever consciously considered your beliefs?

Everything we think is a reflection of our beliefs!

For the past couple of months, the first thing I do every morning is to read something that feeds my soul. I find that if I don’t do that now, I’m a bit antsy - itching to grab a book, take it outside and sit and read in silence (as much as I can get) for a little bit.

thanks to studiozoe from flickr http://flickr.com/photos/studiozoe/

The book I’ve been reading from for the last couple of weeks is Living the Science of Mind. For me, this is the book that brings together the “principle” of the Law of Attraction with the “spirituality” of the Law of Attraction.

I’m working on creating my Mind Movie, and am on the part where I have to make my list of affirmations. So this quote from Living the Science of Mind jumped out at me:

…all statements are affirmations, since each is a statement of one’s belief in something.

And because we have a thought before we make a statement, this means that all our thoughts are a reflection of our belief in something.

Most of our beliefs about things were formed as children, when we were told what those around us believed (to include TV, movie and book characters), and we accepted it as true.

Fortunately, as Louise Hay says,

It’s just a thought, and a thought can be changed.

We don’t have to believe all the things we believe! We can consciously choose to accept them or to toss them away and choose new beliefs.

The cool part is that we can almost always find proof for the new belief! And proof that what we believe is not true, as well. We just have to look for it (or be open to it).

One way to be aware of your beliefs is to watch what you say, especially when you’re explaining to somebody why you can’t do/be/have something you really want to do/be/have.

What do you believe about money? About love? About your ability to make the world a better place?

Which of these thoughts are you going to change? Which have you already changed?

In case you missed yesterday’s post about the power of our thoughts, here’s an article written by Tony Mase, who writes about the LOA and Wallace Wattles (who wrote The Science of Getting Rich - check out my [affiliate] link at the bottom of the article or click here if you can’t wait to learn more).

The *Real* Secret http://feelslikemagic.com/the-real-secret/ http://feelslikemagic.com/the-real-secret/#comments Thu, 27 Sep 2007 21:53:11 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/the-real-secret/ by Tony Mase© Tony Mase - All Rights Reserved

==============================

====Is there really a “secret”…

A secret to getting what you want…

Regardless of what it is?

There sure is and, the funny thing is that, it isn’t really
a secret at all. -)

Wallace D. Wattles, best known for his classic masterpiece
“The Science of Getting Rich”, began most of the articles in
his “Lessons in Constructive Science” series of articles
with this preface:

“There is a constructive, or integrating principle in
nature, and a destructive, or disintegrating principle.
Power applied through the constructive principle builds,
forms and integrates; it draws atoms and forms together.
Power applied through the destructive principle dissolves
and disintegrates; it disperses atoms and forms, and throws
them apart. To learn how to make every thought and action
constructive, is to master the secret of all attainment.”

And therein lies the secret…

The *real* secret to getting what you want…

Regardless of what it is…

“To learn how to make every thought and action constructive,
is to master the secret of all attainment.”

You see…

Every thought you think is either:

1. Constructive, or it’s…

2. Destructive.

It either:

1. Builds, or it…

2. Destroys.

Every action you take is either:

1. Constructive, or it’s…

2. Destructive.

It either:

1. Builds, or it…

2. Destroys.

Now…

With that in mind…

Think about it…

If you want to “build” something…

Anything…

Let’s take a house for example…

If your every thought is a constructive thought,
contributing to the building of the house, and your every
action is a constructive action, contributing to the
building of the house…

Is there any way whatsoever that you could possibly not
build the house?

Of course not.

On the other hand…

If your every thought is a destructive thought, not
contributing to the building of the house, and your every
action is a destructive action, not contributing to the
building of the house…

Is there any way whatsoever that you could possibly ever
build the house…

Regardless of how much you want to build it?

The answer again is…

Of course not!

This same *exact* principle applies to getting what you want
in life…

Regardless of what it is…

If you want to “build” wealth…

If your every thought is a constructive thought,
contributing to the building of wealth, and your every
action is a constructive action, contributing to the
building of wealth, you’ll build wealth.

If you want to “build” health…

If your every thought is a constructive thought,
contributing to the building of health, and your every
action is a constructive action, contributing to the
building of health, you’ll build health.

If you want to “build” success…

If your every thought is a constructive thought,
contributing to the building of success, and your every
action is a constructive action, contributing to the
building of success, you’ll build success.

If you want to “build” happiness…

If your every thought is a constructive thought,
contributing to the building of happiness, and your every
action is a constructive action, contributing to the
building of happiness, you’ll build happiness.

If you want to “build” love…

If your every thought is a constructive thought,
contributing to the building of love, and your every action
is a constructive action, contributing to the building of
love, you’ll build love.

It’s that simple. -)

Now…

Here’s the key…

You have choice.

Let me say that again…

You have choice!

You can *choose* to make your every thought a constructive
thought, contributing to the building of what you want, and
you can *choose* to make your every action a constructive
action, contributing to the building of what you want, if
you’ll but learn to do so.

Remember…

“To learn how to make every thought and action constructive,
is to master the secret of all attainment.”

Giving Up Anger - An Experiment http://feelslikemagic.com/giving-up-anger-an-experiment/ http://feelslikemagic.com/giving-up-anger-an-experiment/#comments Fri, 21 Sep 2007 16:27:08 +0000 Barb http://feelslikemagic.com/giving-up-anger-an-experiment/ I’ve been angry for a long time. I’ve been aware of it for a long time as well, and have worked on it over the years.

Thanks to deeleea from flickr for the use of the photo

In fact, my anger issues are what sent me to my first (and only, so far) Religious Science class about 4 years ago.

I got to studying so much LOA and personal development material at the time that I became overwhelmed and had to give it up. The material had the effect to make me a happier person - for a while.

When I started to get angrier again, I went back to it all, vowing to take it more slowly and study it more in depth.

It’s been working and I haven’t become overwhelmed in the last two years plus that I’ve come back to learning more about my power to consciously create my life.

However, I’ve continued to be pretty angry, which gets taken out on my family. And that’s who I particularly don’t want to be angry with, because my family is who I love the most!

I especially want my children growing up without anger issues. I am constantly telling them that they are in charge of their own emotions; other people can’t make us feel any certain way.

Yet I allow myself to get angry and yell at them. What kind of emotional role model am I being?

Yesterday I received a Note From The Universe that has given me an idea

Don’t be angry, Barb. Not ever.

It’s not worth it. It’s not necessary. There is always a higher road.

Besides, at any given moment, behind the curtains of time and space, it’s like there’s a legion of angels anxious to do your bidding, who can only reach you when you’re happy.

About-t-t-t-t FACE,
The Universe

I know that angry is not conducive to creating the kind of life I want to live. Still, it wasn’t until reading this Note that I thought about just giving it up.

However, the thought of “just giving it up” brings to my mind the idea that anger is kind of an addiction. Will I be able to just not let myself go there?

So I’m starting an experiment. I will try not to get angry today. As the Note says, it’s just not worth it. I know that. Now I need to live it.

I want to be a good emotional role model for my kids!

How about you? Have you given up being angry?

If you aren’t getting your Notes, you really should sign up! They won’t ALL resonate with you, but I’m willing to bet that most of them will, and some of them will just knock your socks off with how right on they are for you! Click here to go sign up for your weekday Notes From The Universe.

Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.
