His Favorite ATL Hangout Spots: Well since the only thing to do in ATL is club I have several favorite spots. I enjoy hanging out at 255 over on Peters St, Lucky Lounge, Wet Willies, Fox Sports Grill, Strip, Slice, Ixtlan Lounge(when it was open), and Chinese Buddha is a great after hours restaurant. But with all that said I’m just as satisfied with grabbing a movie & relaxing at my place.

His Favorite Food: I’m a big food lover so ill eat almost anything. Really big on seafood & pasta so anything from crab legs, lobster, to any kind of Alfredo. Then on the West Indian side my favorite dish is oxtail over white rice & dumplings.

What He Has To Offer A Woman: Companionship, I’m a laid back guy so we can really chill and talk about anything. Dependable, I take a lot of pride in my word and I hate breaking promises. I also don’t like to sweat petty things, I feel life is too short to be bickering about small stuff.

Things That Attract Him To A Woman: There’s nothing more attractive than a woman that’s doing her own thing, and has that natural drive to want to be successful. I feel being around such a woman is contagious, and it will help motivate me to stay focused on what I’m trying to do.

His Feeling about Relationships: As far as relationships go I’m the type of guy that lets things come to me. I’ll just keep on doing what I have to do for myself, and I’m sure the right lady will come along. I also take relationships seriously and I won’t commit if I know I can’t provide enough time to be the best boyfriend as possible. But at the same time if the right woman comes along I know I won’t mind making sacrifices to make things work.

His Ideal Lady: My ideal lady is a natural beauty, smart, caring, funny, straightforward, chill, not petty, fashionable, loves to travel as much as me, and she’s got to have skills in the kitchen!

As we are all aware, Summer is slowly fading away ! Saddening, isn’t it?  This means it is time to put your tank tops, flip flops, swimsuits, and ANYTHING that glitters away! Summer has SPOILED us with many great parties , lunch dates with summer flings, many drunken nights (classy ones, I hope, ladies) , and many more adventurous experiences. Don’t fret yourself, as Autumn sets in, it is the best time to take care of yourself and re-evaluate your life, mind, thoughts, soul, spirit, and mind .. A great way to do so is by meditating.  I’m sure many of you are not aware that you practice meditation in your daily activities, such as walking, cleaning, listening to music, driving, or even sleeping. Meditation isn’t always about sitting down, crossing your legs and humming, but finding the peace within. Once you have entered the realm of silence, there is nothing that can turn you away from it. Concentration is a huge factor when it comes to meditating. Without it , you will be lost. Meditation was a recommendation given by a friend, and after thinking about it, I decided to seek out for information. Sunday morning arrived, I got dolled up and treated myself to a lovely day at Barnes & Nobles. After many hours of research, reading, and of course, coffee sipping ( Starbucks owns! ) , I came across a couple of great reads, but one in particular brought my attention. It is called ” The Meditation Bible ; The Definitive Guide to Meditation for Every Purpose” by Madonna Gauding.  Below is a snippet of the book, and a meditation technique I practice everyday. It is called ” Spacious Mind “.

The benefits of this meditation is as follow :

• Gives your mind rest from over thinking, over doing, and also releases it from stress
• Helps you put your mind and body at peace, and helps you become calmer and compassionate
• Provides mental spaciousness

To prepare for this meditation, relax by stretching out your body on the floor, bed or on the floor. Relax all your muscles, rest and breathe in deeply fives times, and exhale. Once you are done, slowly get up and begin.

1. Sit crossed-legged on a cushion or a straight-backed chair with your feet flat on the floor.
2. Begin by focusing on your breath, counting on the out-breath up to ten. After five minutes, stop counting your breath and simply focus on the out-breath for another two minutes.
3. Become aware of the calmness and space that arises at the end of the out-breath. Let yourself float deeper and deeper into the feeling and space. Imagine your breath flowing out into a vast area filled with light.
4. With each breath, let the space get larger and larger. Allow yourself to rest and be in that space in the present. If a thought appears, gently refocus on the spaciousness you have created.
   
5. Tell yourself that it is okay to just be. Remain in this calm space as long as you like. When ready , take a deep breath and end your session.

I guarantee you that you will feel your mind and spirit at ease.  After a long day from work, school , or running the streets of ATL, take a nice bath, get comfortable, and practice it. I would suggest it to do it before going to bed as it will definitely help you get a great night sleep; SNOOZE-FREE !  You may even grab a yoga mat, or a soft blanket, and go to a park, find a quiet place below a tree and relax.

P.S :::: Turn off all cellular devices, and put them away !! No Exceptions !! It will be back when you return ! (giggles)

Fall 2010 Trends via Style.com

Time to put away the bikinis-peeking-thru-bright-ass-pink-fishnet dresses from Summer 2010 that we hope you had the sense not to wear.  (Believe me, I’ve seen this shit at the club in ATL… and at Wal Mart on the East side.) Fall is a comin!  This is a GREAT time of the year to re-up on your wardrobe because the weather is coolin down and you have energy and residual Vitamin D from the Summer sun to bring a boom and a bang to the ATL scene.  The ladies of the A are known for lookin’ good all day, every day!!!  So just cuz Fall is comin that doesn’t mean we have to fall back!!!  I wanted to know what was going to be in this Fall, so I’m sharing a trend report from STYLE.COM with you on FALL 2010 TRENDS.  A lot of times when people see runway pictures they automatically think “Who the fuck would really wear this crap?”  Designers have to create eye-popping experiences when their models walk down the runway, whether the look is extra dramatic or extremely out of this world.  I like to look at different pieces, accessories, hair and make up styles, and simply just the ways that designers layer or put articles together.  I think these trends will make great inspirations for this Fall… and I looove to dress for the Fall.

FIFTIES SOMETHING: “Cleavage made a, um, big comeback on the Fall runways, with hourglass silhouettes front and center. Nina Ricci’s combo of bustier and curve-hugging, below-the-knee pencil skirt had a retro 1950′s twist, as did the made-for-Christina Hendricks dresses at Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana. At Prada, meanwhile, Lara Stone and co. made the case that curvy catwalkers should be more than just a novelty.”

Fifties inspired looks for Fall 2010... love it!

HUE NEW: “The way to wear color this fall: head to toe, believe it or not. Tomas Maier sleekly paired a rosy blouse with red leather trousers, while Tory Burch showed an orange sweater and skirt with matching lipstick and leggings. On the cooler end: Oscar de la Renta’s blue tweed suit with coordinating checkered tights, and a bodacious, bright purple frock and leggings combo at Mark Fast. Turns out “matchy-matchy” is now a compliment.”

Remember when matching was cool? It's cool again!

MAN UP: “There’s a running joke that people join the fashion industry because they can’t cope with corporate dress codes. Well, the laugh is on us this season. Menswear-inspired suiting and outerwear are key looks—and the smartest way to carry the minimalist trend forward. Celine’s Phoebe Philo made a convincing argument for cropped, ankle-flaring trousers, and even Alexander Wang did a tailored wool jacket, albeit with an exposed midriff that might get you canned on Wall Street.”

THE LONG VIEW: “It’s time to retire your micro-minis and sky-high heels. No, really. Designers have gone long for both day and night, turning out demure yet dramatic skirts that skim the upper shins (Marc Jacobs at both his own label and Louis Vuitton), graze the ankles (Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren), or fall gracefully somewhere in between. The most comforting part of this story: The new lengths look smashing with easy-on-the-feet kitten heels and flat-soled boots.”

This is the only kind of skirt my daughter is allowed to wear until she is 40.

UNDER WRAPS: ”The minimalist resurgence may be continuing apace, but that didn’t stop some designers from taking a more-is-more approach. J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons covered her models in a mix of sequins, shearling, cashmere, and denim, and there were upward of eight garments in a single outfit at Rag & Bone. Elsewhere, the layered look took on a chic-nomad feel: Wrap sweaters and skirts resembled handwoven blankets at Rodarte, and striped shawls were worn with cozy suede boots at Kenzo. Whatever else, you won’t go cold this winter.”

 Allright ladies… don’t go crazy and combine all of these trends at once and end up looking like one huge ball of Fall!!!
