So it looks like this blog might be a success, so this will definatly continue. I will try to keep this blog chat free (in terms of what I post) and do most of the "chattter" stuff on the podcast...which I hope I can get uploaded so cross your fingers for it. *grin* On with the news!

So if you are a fan of the L Word you should have been looking at this site long ago. Probably one of the best official studio site I've seen.

There is an interesting writing project that two people have set up for CSI. It is a sort of secret santa but for valentines day. You state what kind pairing you want (Catherine/Sara, Sara/Sophia, Catherine/Other Female, whatever floats your boat) and you will be paired up with someone who has similar tastes as you...but you won't know who that person is and you both send the fic to the people running this and they'll send the fics along, you read it, give feedback/review it, and send that back to them, they will give it to the author, and then you'll find out who each other is. It is a way to meet new people and the such. This was met with success so they are putting up a Valentine's Day version of this.

A very good site, probably was one of the first and biggest of the mult-fandom femslash sites when femslash was picking up on the net with the Xena fandom. The site hasn't been updated in a LONG time but it still has wonderful fics from many fandoms that are more than worth reading. The site even has some wonderful art, and a couple on there are my favorites. Good site, even though it hasn't been updated for a long time, it is worth to see what is there.

Fandom: Harry Potter

One of the first femslash fics from the Harry Potter fandom that I have read and a very good fic. This was written before the movies when everyone (or at least almost everyone) saw McGonagall looking middle age and not as Maggie Smith. LoL. It is a sweet fic that will help get your foot in this very small femslash section in the Harry Potter fandom.

That is the end of this update. On this blog I will not be putting down spoilers, I will be putting links to spoilers, but not on this blog in general so that everyone can read Femslash Writer's Corner without worry of reading any spoilers. The podcast however, will have spoiler updates but that will be after an specified music clip at the end of the podcast so if you don't want to hear the spoilers you will have time to turn off your mp3 player or iTunes. Just giving everyone a heads up.

Xenaverse
With Xena: Warrior Princess already being shown on Oxygen, the Warrior Princess will also now be showing on the LOGO channel from Monday to Friday. Check your local time and listings.

The official Xena convention is coming up! It will be held Jan. 13th, 2006 in Burbank, CA. The guests include Lucy Lawless, Renee O'Connor, Michael Hurst, Hudson Leick, Tsianina Joelson, Victoria Pratt, Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Adrienne Wilkinson, David Franklin, T.J. Scott, Katerhine Fugate, Tim Thomerson, and Steven L. Sears. This is a HUGE convention and takes place over three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Esepcially sad news for those of you who have not heard, great bard L.J. Maas (author of Tumbleweed Fever, None So Blind, Rebecca's Cove, and many others) passed away of a stroke a few months ago. Her publisher still plans to re-release her books. The writing world in general lost a fine talent and wonderful storyteller. Thoughts are with her partner CB (Carolyn).

Law & Order: SVU
Set those VCRs, new eps will start this week, tuesday January 3rd. This week's ep is called "Infected." This came right from the NBC website.
BOY WITNESSES SHOOTING DEATH AND LATER COMMITS SAME CRIME, RAISING QUESTIONS ABOUT AFTEREFFECTS OF VIOLENCE -- Gordon Clapp, Judith Light and Annie Potts Guest Star -- When a woman is found shot to death in her apartment, Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) discover 14-year-old Nathan Phelps (guest star Malcolm David Kelley), traumatized and hiding in the closet. The investigation leads the detectives to Ted Carthage (guest star Clapp), the head of a charity organization, and whose voice Nathan recognizes as belonging to the man who shot his mother. Without a positive I.D., Carthage is released, but later found dead - shot by Nathan. A.D.A. Novak (Diane Neal) must prosecute Nathan and attempts to give him a break when his attorney Sophie Devere (guest star Potts) finds a study that suggests people who witness gun violence are more likely to commit acts of violence themselves. But their plan to settle with a plea is disrupted when a gun manufacturer's advocacy group catches wind of the defense, fearing legal implications.

On a related note, a new Law & Order series, Conviction, will revive the character of Alex Cabot. Not much is known about the show right not but this came from Variety.com.
Dick Wolf has finalized casting for his new NBC series "Conviction," adding a trio of thesps -- including former "Law & Order: SVU" star Stephanie March.
J. August Richards ("Angel") and Jordan Bridges ("Mona Lisa Smile") also are onboard in key roles for the skein, which has just starting lensing in Gotham. Walon Green and Rick Eid wrote the pilot and will exec produce with Wolf.

March is reprising her "L&O" role as Alexandra Cabot. She'll serve as bureau chief in "Conviction," which will revolve around young assistant district attorneys.

Richards will play a snobby attorney who's trying to claw his way to the top.

Bridges is set to play a well-connected lawyer who leaves a private law firm to work for the DA's office.

Unlike most Wolf shows, "Conviction" won't be a straight procedural. Producer calls the skein a "charactercedural."

Wolf Films is producing "Conviction" in association with NBC Universal Television Studio.

South Of Nowhere
After a sucessful first season on The N network, South Of Nowhere has been renewed for 13 eps which will start airing in October of this year. This season's eps will start showing again on January 13th.

The L Word
The new season starts January 8th. Both seasons are available.

There will be two things here with every week, a featured link to a femslash website or a writer's helper site, and a featured story.

This FWCN link is one that everyone should have bookmarked. It is the wonderful, fantastic, and all around awe-inspiring site Passion & Perfection

There just aren't enough pretty words to do this site justice. It has major fandoms, little fandoms, multimedia, and other goodies. It is updated reguarly and has the all important teaser sentences (annoying when fic sites don't have that, you never know what kind of story you're going to read). This site is a great place to start if you want to branch out into other fandoms you don't normally read. So hop on over there and give it a look.

The Featured Story this time is actually a series. The stories are long but more than well worth your time. The series is The Journey of Soulmates by Melissa Good (orginally known as MerWolf) from the Xenaverse. The series starts with A Warrior By Any Other Name and continues on there. You don't have to be a huge fan of Xena: Warrior Princess to get into these stories as Ms. Good explains things so one who doesn't watch the show will understand. If you want something short, don't bother with these stories, but if you enjoy a well written fic, that while long you don't want to put down, give this series a chance. You won't be dissapointed.

That is the end of what would be a "normal" update. Things will be put in and taken out as I continue to fine tune this. Expect a podcast of this (with my own little comments peppered throughout) in a few days. Once I have a better grip on how to do these podcasts and equipment I will start expanding the podcast section of this.

This blog will be covering all things femslash - from websites, music vids, fic reviews, and hopefully within the next 3 to 4 months (cross your fingers for sooner, if I get lucky) a bi-weekly podcast show. It is going to take a week or so to get things really started with this. If things go well with this I will set up a website, but for now let's just experiment with this.
