Aliens

Okay, wir alle wissen das Hollywood recht einfallslos ist, wir alle wissen dass sich starke Marken gut verkaufen lassen und wir wissen auch schon das Ridley Scott (wohl aus den ersten beiden Gründen) unbedint neue Alien-Filme machen will, 2 Stück, um genau zu sein und zwar Prequels… Es gibt zwar immer noch keine Infos zum Drehbeginn oder Cast, aber immerhin ein wenig neues zu Story. Die ist übrigens 100% Sigourney Weaver frei…

Set 30 years before the 1979 original, so with no room for Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley, the prequels will explore the origins of the deadly aliens. “The film will be really tough, really nasty,” he notes. “It’s the dark side of the moon. I’m a HUGE Star Wars fan and I love each and every character of this story. My personal favorite of all times is the misunderstood and under appreciated Stormtroopers. I find this character to be quite interesting. A couple of months ago I watched (for the third time) Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket” and thought about this particular dialog of the movie:

Pogue Colonel: You write “Born to Kill” on your helmet and you wear a peace button. What’s that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?

Private Joker: No, sir.

Pogue Colonel: You’d better get your head and your a** wired together, or I will take a giant sh*t on you.

Private Joker: Yes, sir.

Pogue Colonel: Now answer my question or you’ll be standing tall before the man.

Private Joker: I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir.

So I thought “what if a cloned/mass produced being also has this thoughts on the duality of his existence?” and this is what came out.

Habt ihr euch schonmal vorgestellt was passieren würde wenn Star Wars auf Winnie The Pooh treffen würde? Nein? Ich ehrlich gesagt auch nicht, aber der Künstler James Hance hats getan, denn ihr wisst ja, im Internet gibts einfach ALLES…

The cast includes Han Solo as Christopher Robin, Chewbacca as Pooh Bear, R2D2 as Piglet, and an AT-AT as Eeyore. Prints of the illustrations are available now for $10.

Ghostbusters

Okay okay, ich glaube eigentlich immernoch nicht wirklich dran, aber angeblich (laut “Bloody Disgusting“) kommt nun wirklich ein Ghostbusters 3! Und zwar inklusive ALLER 4 original Ghostbusters PLUS Sigourney Weaver UND – und das wäre wirklich klasse, immerhin ist der Mann seit 97 in “Rente” - Rick Moranis!

Bloody Disgusting reports that all four members of the original team are on board for the third episode, including the previously reluctant Murray. In addition to that, Sigourney Weaver is in, and Rick Moranis is coming out of retirement to join the party. So far there’s no word on Annie Potts.

So for awhile now its been known that the third movie in the series would be set some years later, with the original team retired — one of them, now a ghost — and serving in a more advisory/mentor capacity. Assuming this insider’s info is accurate, we now know a bit more about the makeup of the young team.

One of its members will be baby Oscar from “Ghostbusters 2,” now grown up and ready to take over the family business. More than that, its been revealed that he is in fact the child of Murray’s Peter Venkman, something mama Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) neglected to tell him in “Ghostbusters 2.”

Samstag hab ich ihn gesehen, The Expendables, und was soll ich sagen? “Action, Action, Action, Bad-Ass-Motherf$$ker-Action! Hell Yeah!”. Ich fand den Film genial, okay Handlung ist nicht wirklich vorhanden, aber “Who cares?!”… Natürlich würde ich mich auch über einen simplen 2. Teil freuen, aber was Stallone da auf seinem Twitter Account von sich gibt lässt mein kleines Action-Fanboy-Herz noch viel schneller schlagen:

Walking Dead

Hier sind 5 neue Bilder zur kommenden “Zombie-TV-Serie” Walking Dead. Die Serie, welche auf einer Comic-Reihe von Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore und Charlie Adlard basiert ist ab Oktober 2010 beim US Sender AMC zu sehen.

The Walking Dead tells the story of life following a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Teachers, Strike Back) will portray the lead role of Rick Grimes while actor Jon Bernthal (The Pacific, The Ghost Writer) will portray the character Shane, who worked with Rick in the police department before the zombie disaster. Other cast includes Laurie Holden (The Shield), who plays Andrea, one of two sisters who join the survivors of the zombie plague, Steven Yeun as Glenn, an expert scavenger and Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break), who plays Rick’s wife Lori.

EUReKA

Gute Nachrichten, jedenfalls für Fans der Serie EUReKA: Syfy USA hat die Serie vorzeitig um eine weitere, fünfte, Staffel verlängert. Also ich für meinen Teil freue mich drüber, auch wenn uns ProSieben, hier läuft zur Zeit die 2. Hälfte der 3. Staffel, uns mit einer regelrechten Staffel-Zerstückelung nervt… Warum? Die aktuelle Staffel läuft nur bis Mitte September, dann,  2 Folgen vor Schluss, unterbricht ProSieben die Serie erneut… Wann es weiter geht ist nicht bekannt…

Der US-Kabelsender Syfy hat am Dienstag seine Dramedy “EUReKA – Die geheime Stadt” frühzeitig für eine fünfte Staffel verlängert. In den USA befindet sich die Serie in der vierten Staffel und kann momentan mehr als 3 Millionen Zuschauer pro Woche für sich begeistern.

Okay, wow, der Trailer ist klasse. Auch wenn Gareth Edwards alle seine Specialeffects zu Monsters selbst gemacht hat, das sieht einfach nur gut aus! Ich freu mich auf den Film… 12. November ist UK Release, also gar nicht mehr so lange zu warten!

Alien life forms have spread throughout central America leading to the quarantine of half of Mexico. The U.S. and Mexican militaries are battling to contain the creatures, with a wall stretching along the American border. The story follows Andrew an American photojournalist who is tracking down the rich-kid daughter of his boss and their journey back to America through the ‘infected zone’.

Star Wars

Im Herbst 2011 ist es endlich soweit, dann wird die komplette Star WarsBluRay Saga auf erscheinen! Aber Moment mal, 2011?? Wtf? Es ist doch erst 2010! Ja wirklich erst 2011, der “gute” George L. begründet das damit das BluRay vorher nicht weit genug verbreitet ist und sich daher nicht genug Käufer für die Box finden lassen würden…  Naja, was solls, besser spät als nie, außerdem verspricht er uns – “all six live-action Star Wars feature films, with the highest picture and audio quality” – und dazu noch mit vielen Extras wie – “documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives” – Vorallem das “never-before-seen footage” dürfte für Fans interessant sein, dabei handelt es sich wohl um eine Szene aus Episode VI in der Luke sein neues Lichtschwert in R2D2 versteckt bevor er sich zu Jabas Palast begibt… Die Szene ist vollständige vertont und inkl. aller Spezialeffekte, sie wurde erst kurz vor dem finalen “Editing” herausgeschnitten.

Allerdings gibts für die Hardcode-Star-Wars-Fans auch einen Haken, die originalen 3 Episoden werden nur als remasterd Speical Editons auf BluRay veröffentlicht, Lucas begründet das so:

“Releasing the originals is kind of an oxymoron because the quality of the original is not very good. You have to go through and do a whole restoration on it, and you have to do that digitally. It’s a very, very expensive process to do it. So when we did the transfer to digital, we only transferred really the upgraded version.”

The Expendables

Nachdem Sly ja schon vor dem eigentlichen Kinostart über ein mögliches Sequel zu The Expendables “nachgedacht” hat wird das Ganze, nun da der Film schon am US-Start-Wochenende mehr als $35 Millionen eingespielt hat, immer konkreter.  Derzeit zerbricht sich Stallone den Kopf über den möglichen Cast der Fortsetzung:

[The sequel is] plotted out in my mind’s eye. I believe this group has to continue to evolve; it just can’t become the same people. So how do you get new people introduced into the group, and how do you have some of the other people leaving? Those are the challenges. – Sylvester Stallone
