Damon Morgan walks through this passage to show that glorifying God is not reserved for seasons of clarity and blessing — it is a posture we’re called to hold even, and especially, in grief. We don’t have to understand everything God allows in order to trust Him with it.

The Suffering Man

He was lame from birth, carried to the same gate every day to beg — so familiar a sight that the crowd walked past without seeing him. Peter and John did what no one else did: they stopped, looked directly at him, and asked for his attention. Miracles move into the open when we’re willing to actually see the suffering people step past every day.

The Spirit-filled message

Peter had no money to offer, and he didn’t apologize for it. “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6) The most Spirit-filled thing believers carry beyond the building was never a resource — it’s a name.

A supernatural miracle

The healed man didn’t slip away quietly. He went walking and leaping and praising God, and the crowd that gathered gave Peter an open door to preach Christ to people who never would have wandered into a service. A miracle in the open becomes a message to everyone watching.

We are not called to talk ourselves into hope. We are called to behold — to see and trust what God is already doing, confident that the same God who makes the promise will make the way, and provide everything we need to walk it.

The Promise of Possibility — Before we can see it, God declares it. Standing on His promises starts here: believing what He has said before it looks possible.

The Promise of Pathways — God doesn’t only declare the destination; He makes the way to it — through wilderness, through desert, through the places that look like dead ends. Even when you’re wondering, heaven is working.

The Promise of Provision — God’s provision doesn’t depend on natural conditions. It responds to our faithful need. If God will bring you to it, He will give you what you need to get through it. The wilderness and the desert are exactly where God has promised rivers.

In this week’s message, The Calf in Our Conscience (Exodus 32:19–24), Damon Morgan holds up a spiritual mirror to three things that quietly pull our worship away from God and onto ourselves:

• The crowd in our conscience — when the opinions of people become louder than reverence for God.
• The clock in our conscience — when impatience with God’s timing leads us to worship our own solutions instead of trusting Him.
• The cover-up in our conscience — when we hide from God’s presence rather than stand honestly before Him.

The big idea: hold up your spiritual mirror and stay honest with yourself and God — relying on Him even when you don’t like His timing.

This week Damon Morgan showed us that a community who relies on and glorifies God will be victorious. God shrank Gideon’s army so that when the victory came, no one could say it was their own strength that won it. The size of the group isn’t what matters — who they’re depending on is. A few faithful followers, wholly reliant on God, will accomplish more than a crowd trusting in itself.

Judges 12:1–6 tells one of Scripture’s most sobering stories: the Ephraimites and Gileadites, both part of God’s own people, turned on each other over a grievance — and it ended in bloodshed at the fords of the Jordan.

This week, Damon Morgan showed us how small differences can become deadly divisions when we are not humble. Pride turns disagreements into fights and fights into fractures. The Ephraimites and Gileadites shared a covenant, a history, and a God — and still let unchecked pride tear them apart. The warning for us is direct: unity isn’t kept by avoiding all difference, it’s kept by staying humble in the middle of it.

This week, Damon Morgan brought us to Proverbs 27:17 to look at how God shapes His people. The friction we feel — through other people, through hard seasons, through correction — isn’t God punishing us. It’s God preparing us. Sharpening only happens through contact, and God uses the people and experiences around us to get us ready for the work He has for us.
