The open two-seater, dubbed the California Spider, with its retractable aluminum hard top is the new entry level model among the sports car offerings from Maranello.

Having been introduced to the world at the Paris Motor Show last October, the California Spider can now be admired on our roads, too.

For those who wish to further personalize the appearance and performance of this exceptional sports car, edo competition is now offering very special accessories.

Newly-developed wheel/tire sets in 20 and 21 inches are guaranteed to draw amazed looks from passers-by. The wheels are available in several attractive designs. Customers can also opt for a lowered ride height or the addition of a sport suspension system. The sport suspension is adjustable in both compression and rebound damping, allowing for a custom tailored ride for cruising, spirited driving, or competition.

To make sure the performance of a vehicle as special as the California is up to par in all aspects, edo competition also offers custom ECU recalibration. After reprogramming the production ECU, the 8-cylinder engine now generates 367 kW (500HP) and 369 ft-lb of torque at 5,200 rpm. In addition to the recalibrated electronics edo competition can install a newly-developed high performance exhaust system featuring adjustable butterfly valves and custom designed high flow catalytic converters with a 200 cell per square inch metal core.

This well-matched combination enables the engine to develop its new-found power in an impressive manner. The treatment also provides a torque increase that is particularly noticeable in everyday driving. As a result, the performance figures of the edo California Spider are improved as well: It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a phenomenal 3.9 seconds and the top speed is an impressive 315 km/h (196 mph).

As with all edo competition models, we set no limit to our customers’ imaginations. Special interiors or lavish leather upholstery, individual requests are accommodated and executed with quality.

All modifications are carried out exclusively at edo competition Motorsport GmbH in Ahlen.

The 11 vehicles on only limited “Calavera” was based on the Ferrari F430 grafted.

The term “Calavera” (spanish for skull) is a trademark of Unique sportcar future for a variety of design ideas to be named.

The current fashion trends has Unique sportcar with his “Calavera” is an absolute “IN” theme with a luxury sports car together.

The names alone can have much to hope for. Novitec has over 20 years of a fixed size in the tuning scene. Already in the 90s reached Novitec with its turbo-compressor engines and Alfa Romeo for a lot of attention and recognition before 2003 of the First Rosso Novitec Bi-Compressor for a Ferrari, the international professional world could finally convince.

Knud Tiroch shall in no way. He is one of the figureheads of the airbrush art in Europe and leads exclusively to the unique design of the chassis and through the interior. Knud Tiroch already has its Arts for David Coulthard, ZZ Top and Arnold Schwarzenegger demonstrated.

Unique sportcar developed unique design ideas for customers who do not want off the shelf. As tailors for individual ideas and wishes of customers worldwide they are constantly looking for partners for implementation. Faithful to the motto: Everything from one source!

Apart from the design and composition of the Project, the Bavaria a few nice extras designed. So the front of the “Calavera” equipped with daytime running lights to the front a more aggressive appearance but not the aerodynamics of the vehicle change.

A particular highlight is the lighting engine. Not usual for Ferrari lends this gimmick the “Calavera” the limelight in which his brute rear lot and the 707 hp engine in the right light sets.

Rounding out the concept through its interior. Also here you will find the “Calavera” design. Embroidered seats, a modified, elongated center console, in addition to the usual features space for an Apple iPod to the latest generation offers.

For the implementation of tuning the car is completely disassembled base. Modifications to the engine, aerodynamics, wheels, tires, and sport exhaust system shall be provided by Novitec.

All work will be within a period of approximately three months, tailored to the individual “Calavera” customers.

One of the car in time to the last edition of the Ferrari F430 Models again will make a stir.

Conclusion: great mix of unique design and modern technology.

A real “Unique sportcar.

Technical Details

The heart of the car is Rosso Novitec Bi Compressor engine in the latest evolutionary stage.

The peak power increases compared to the 217 series engine for HP / 159.7 kW. With 707 hp / 520 kW at 8,350 rpm and maximum torque to 712 Nm at 6,300 trips.
0 to pace 100 in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 315 km / h. The sprint to 100 is reduced to half a second to 3.5 seconds. After just 10.5 seconds, the speed is already doubled. The 300 km / h-sound barrier through the Italian floor after 29.9 seconds. In conjunction with the Novitec Rosso (optional) installed longer gearbox ratios increases the normal maximum speed of 315 km / h to 348 km / h

20 instead of standard 19-inch: The three-Rosso Novitec NF3 double-spoke wheels in the dimensions 8.5Jx20 front and 12Jx20 on the rear axle fill out the F430 wheel housings perfectly. The high-performance tires in sizes 235/30 ZR 20 and 325/25 ZR 20 come from technology partners Pirelli.

The body, like all other components in the wind tunnel developed Novitec Rosso front spoiler is attached to the underside of the front apron Series fixed. It lends the F430 is not only a more aggressive front view, but also reduces lift on the front axle.

The side parts of the middle motor sports car with the Novitec Rosso wings sills upgraded. Tailored to the standard venturi tunnel is the Novitec Rosso rear diffuser, the downforce on the rear axle reinforced. Upon request, an additional rear wing mounted. Black tinted rear and side turn signal complete the sporty look.

Agile, safe handling is a strong side of the Novitec Rosso sport suspension for the Ferrari, optimized everyday use the other. Unlike the Series chassis, the front end to push-button 40 millimeters respectively. Allows garage entrances and Speed Bumper easily be addressed. From Tempo 80 lowers the suspension automatically returns to the basic position. In the normal setting is tuned “Calavera” about 35 millimeters lower than in the series. Novitec Rosso sport stabilizers reduce the side slope and provide for an even more direct Einlenkverhalten.

While based on the 599 GTB Fiorano with the same transaxle layout and engine type, this prototype is an extreme track car. Ferrari’s engineers have carried out extensive work on the engine’s combustion chambers and inlet and exhaust tracts. These modifications, combined with the fact that internal attrition has been reduced and the maximum revs have been boosted to 9,000 rpm, helped achieve the target power output of 700 hp at 9,000 rpm.

Particular attention was also paid to cutting the weight of the engine unit components. This was achieved both by optimising forms – as in the new crankshaft – and adopting exclusive materials, as in the carbon-fibre used for the intake plenums. A new gearbox shift strategy cuts overall gearchange times to 60 ms.

The 599XX is characterised by an innovative electronic concept called the “High Performance Dynamic Concept” which has been designed to get the maximum performance from the car by managing the combination of the car’s mechanical limits with the potential of its electronic controls. The mechanical and electronic systems work together to get the maximum performance from the car under extreme high performance driving, for consistent lap times. The sporty handling has been improved thanks to the adoption of second generation SCM suspension system. Track usage is also made easier thanks to the new “virtual car engineer”, a screen in the car that provides a real-time indication of the vehicle’s efficiency.

The 599XX’s aerodynamics were honed in numerous wind tunnel test sessions with the result that the car now boasts 280 kg of downforce at 200 km/h (630 kg at 300 km/h). The front underside of the body is completely faired-in and the vents that channel hot air from the engine bay have been moved to the bonnet.

The “ActiflowT” system increases downforce and/or cuts drag depending on the car’s trim cornering conditions, courtesy of the use of a porous material in the diffuser and two fans in the boot which channel the air flow from under the car out through two grilles next to the tail-lights. Winglets have been added to the rear buttresses to increase downforce. while synthetic jets have also been incorporated into the rear of the car to control and smooth the air flow and to reduce drag.

Ferrari’s engineers have also used F1-derived “doughnuts” which partly cover the brake discs and wheel rim. These have the dual function of improving both aerodynamics and brake cooling.

In terms of the bodywork, composites and carbon-fibre have been widely used and the engineers drew on their experience in working with aluminium to reach the weight target. The development of increasingly high-performance materials has also benefited the carbon-ceramic material braking system. The brake pads are now made from carbon-fibre which means that the calipers are smaller whilst guaranteeing the same efficiency. The new racing carbon ceramic braking system also delivers shorter braking distances and is generally more efficient due to the weight saving.

The 599XX comes with slick tyres (29/67 R19 Front and 31/71 R19 Rear) specifically developed to maximise stability in cornering and increase lateral acceleration. They are fitted to 19 x 11J wheel rims at the front and 19 x 12J at the rear.

The Novitec Ferrari 16M is the latest creation from the German tuner. Taking an amazing car like the Ferrari Scuderia and Ferrari 16M to the next level of performance, is a tough task. Novitec outfitted this 16M with their 3-pc NF3 wheels in custom painted colors.

The NF3 wheels are 20×8.5” front and 20×12” rear and feature Pirelli tires. The suspension is converted to their Hydraulic Coil-Over Suspension system which allows for a 40mm front end lift when entering driveways or going over speed bumps by the touch of a button. The engine of this very special 16M is outfitted with a twin supercharger system that gives a horsepower rating of 696hp! Finishing off the car is Novitec’s black tail lights, LED third brake light and reflectors. Novitec also has a range of products for the Scuderia and other Ferraris.

Novitec has fitted twin superchargers to the 16M. Power should be up by an estimated 186hp (139kW) on the factory model to 696hp (519kW). In comparison the stock vehicle’s V8 has a maximum power output of 510hp (380kW). It will push the car from 0 – 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and let it go as fast as 315km/h (196mph). Therefore it would be fair to assume the more powerful Novitec car will outsprint and ultimately outrun a normal F430 16M Scuderia Spider.

The “ActiflowTM” system increases downforce and/or cuts drag depending on the car’s trim cornering conditions, courtesy of the use of a porous material in the diffuser and two fans in the boot which channel the air flow from under the car out through two grilles next to the tail-lights.
