I had a completely different idea for this mani, I first painted all my nail using Kleancolor Fushia Neon, with accent nails in Rimmel London Black Satin (I think this is my new favorite black, and love the brush), But a big problem there is that the Kleancolor would not dry I even added seche vite to speed it up, but still was not working then I bumped two of my nails and messed them up. So I called a quits with it, on a better note it does stamp well so I'll probably just use it for stamping.

The only thing I did keep was what I wanted to stamp, which was the butterfly image on BM- 205, I love that image, It was the one I was most excited for when I ordered the second Bundle Monster set.

ASBMF- Fresh Cut Lawns

Before I get into my Fresh Cut Lawns,

Ok on the nails...
For "fresh cut lawns" I had no idea what I wanted to do. Then I figured I would just go with a pretty green or something. Then I thought of just drawing some grass. A striper brush and a could of greens later this is what I came up with...

Used:

Base Coat

Base colors of Sinful Colors- Cinderella (2-3 coats)with a gradient of Orly- Lucky Duck

For the Grass-

Milani striper in Green (Sorry can't remember the name)

China Glaze- Holly Day

for the Gold: Milani - Gold Striper (again sorry don't have the name)

For the grass I just used the striper in an upward motion toward the cuticle. Put a little blob of the Milani green and Chine Glaze Holy day, then dipped the striper in both and went to town. Some nails are better than others, but all in all it turned out really pretty. I thought the gold would look pretty in the sun.

I really enjoyed wearing these, I had fun having people guess what it was supposed to be. Then seeing the reaction when I told them it's what it looks like.

I suppose I have officially failed this challenge since it was supposed to be from April to May, oh well I'm going to finish this out it's been fun.

Not only did I redesign my whole layout, I changed my name too...

ASBMF- Matte Magic

For this mani I wasn't sure if I wanted just matte or shiny/ matte. I'm still on the fence about matte polish and the matte look. I'm just love the shiny look, and matte feels funny to me, yes I know I sound like a 5 year old when I says "it feels funny". That's ok with me, besides anyone that has worn matte polish will know the "feel" I"m talking about, it's odd. All in all I'm just not sure. Ive actually never worn a "matte" polish just the matte top coats. I think it's more because I would feel weird not applying a top coat, also I"ve heard that most matter polishes are a pain to work with and chip very quickly, no idea if that's true or not though. In my mind I just ask myself why would I want my nails to not be shiny? Lol,, then proceed with my super shiny Seche Vite. What can I say the stuffs awesome.

Anyway what was I saying... oh yes I was deciding between just matter and matte/ shiny. At first I stuck with just matte, then the next morning I used some craft scissors with a squiggly (totally technical work BTW) edge to cut some tape. Let me tell you cutting tape with those scissors is not easy, they just do not want to cut, ugh. But finally I did get enough strips for all my nails. Then place tape on nail, paint shiny Seche Vite, pull up tape. That's it. Ok enough talk on to the pictures.

See the squiggly line in the middle of each nail... Hopefully anyway maybe not on the accent nail, it's there but hard to see. I think this would of worked better on a darker base, but oh well this is what I was working with.

The last pics were taken a few days after applying, So I think my matter was turning kinda shiny. Kills the effect, but enjoy the colors

ASBMF- Glitter Tips

So when I think glitter tips, I think sponging on a gradient so of course that's what I went with. Nothing too fancy just a little fun. On to the pictures...

and for the glitter I used

I really Enjoyed wearing this mani, both colors wore amazingly well I actually wore this for 4 or 5 days, I don't quite remember but I wore it way longer than I usually do. I just did not have any time to change it. Ugh hate when that happens but love when my mani holds up, Yay!

I just love having a sort of reverse accent nail. Lol no idea what to call it actually. Where you wear a main color on each hand but switch the accent nail to other color on either hand.

If that made any sense anyway, you get the idea right? lol. Ok going to quit rambling now.... Enjoy....

ASBMF- Ombre

I had never actually attempted the ombre mani before this, I was trying to figure out what color to use I thought orange would be good, but when I got together some orange polishes I didn't like how they looked together. So I went for a different take on the ombre look, I pulled up a color wheel to look at and chose the Yellow to green section to re-create. Which would be Yellow, Yellow- Green, and Green. Once I picked whats colors I wanted I had to pick polishes to match the color. Now that was an annoying task, I must of looked at 5 different yellows and like 10 greens, I guess when you have so many polishes you bring this on yourself. But I don't mind I actually kind of enjoy looking through all my babies trying to find the right color, All the while picturing certain ones in my head to match up then pulling it out and it not quite being what i seen in my head. lol yea it's a process but like I said I enjoy it.

In order from base color to tip on the accent nail.

I used this design from NailSide she calls them clouds. This was my first time trying this technique which is really simple actually. I definitely need some practice though. But I was happy with this.

My Favorite nail all the parts of the cloud came out almost perfectly round.

Which I was happy about, but both fingers on my left hand came out better than my right hand, but I'm a lefty how the hell did that happen, I suppose I'm more careful with my right hand lol, who knows.

Bundle Monster Contest

This is actually my first time entering in one of their contests. This time it's to win their new set of stamping plates, they have released a few teaser pics and so far the designs are just so cute I can't wait to get them. It would be awesome to win a set. Anyway enough talk on to my entry.

So I thought long and hard about what to do for the contest. I knew I wanted some sort of gradient with double stamping on top. Then it was picking the colors, I finally settled on these three colors. So I went to work.

ASBMF- #4 April Showers...

For this mani I knew what I wanted to do, just wasn't sure of how to achieve the look I was going for. After a few days of not having time and thinking it over I finally had the time to sit down and carry out my plan. I ended up using the water color technique. If you don't know the technique or how to do it, check out this post from Rebecca at Rebecca Likes nails, she explains it way better than I could. And is just awesome all together.

So the idea was to make my nails storm clouds, with water drops like from a car window. So not sure if it worked entirely but I'm happy with it.

Then added randon dots and lines in Opi Topcoat. (not sure if its real visible in the photos, honestly it's hardly visible to me and I know it's there.)

Below is Wet Cement with topcoat in natural sunlight, also the other pics in sunlight were taken right after I was done, my hands were a mess, and I even tried to clean up, well I use tried a bit loosely I gave up pretty quick figured I'd pick it all off later.

I really like the look of the glitter sammy but I've only done it once before seen here, then I used neon polishes, But this time I went for the jelly polish. I don't have many jelly polishes, well it's probably more like I really bad at distinguishing when a polish is a jelly.

Anyway enough about that, on to todays mani...

This polish is a pain to photograph, it's not that you need to get a color accurate photo, but it looks different in different lighting. It is definitely a blue- toned purple and bright. Even though in the bottle it looks like it'd be super dark. Remind's me of Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl in that sense, I actually thought it might of been closer in color but Daddy's Girl is not as bright and just a darker purple.

ASBMF- Lady Bugs

I intended to have little ladybugs on my nails, well my ladybug stamp just was not transferring as well as I would of liked, so I just grabbed all the colors I was using and came up with this design. It is not ladybugs in any way, But I think it came out pretty good and I'm happy with this.

I actually saw a really cute ladybug design that I would of tried but the day after doing these, I may try them in the near future but I figured I would still just use these for today.

These remind me of fall, like I should of worn them to a pumpkin patch or something. Is it just me? That's just what I thought, not very "springy" I know but I don't really mind. I'm not one to wear whats "in" for the season, yes you will see me wear some very dark colors this spring/ summer, I wear what I want to when I feel like it.

This was the first time I used Fast Track, oh how much I am loving it, such pretty golden shimmer in there

ASBMF - Spring Pastels

I've started a new Spring themed challenge created by the Lovely Hannah over at Polished Prisms. It's called April Showers Bring May Flowers, this challenge isn't like others, there are 14 different themes, and it do at your own pace. So I think I can do this. I read through all the themes and really like them, so it might take a little while to complete but that is kind of the point to take it into May right.

I believe she even made this cute pic, Adorable isn't it.

On to Number One my Spring Pastels Mani (which inevitably was also my Easter Mani wore like iron for days, considering I was sick again from Fri til Mon- Tues-ish I was wearing this until tuesday night and it still never chipped that was like 5 days or so. Normally I wouldn't leave it on so long but when I'm sick I can barely function let alone make my nails all pretty. Ok enough talk on to the nails... I took the idea PastelS and ran with it...

If you look closely you can see the Silver stamping under the White stamping, and maybe can see just a hint of shimmer over all the colors. That was my initial idea I had planned on leaving it at that, well until I saw it and just hated it at that point. I had topcoated and everything. Of course it had taken awhile to get all the colors on there, Pastels when sponged on need a couple of coats even with a base color. So instead of just leaving it alone and hating it, I decided to try to add to it I've seen a few other Bloggers do this stamping layer to create some really pretty looks. So I figured why not I couldn't make it any worse.

Fortunately I love the outcome, I think it came out so cool, I got a ton of compliments on this mani and that always make me feel good when people notice.

All together I used a bunch of polished I'm just going to list them below

Here is a mani I wore about a week ago, I really loved it. This was my first try to free- hand roses they came out really well, yay... lol yes I get excited when I try something new and it actually works, what can I say?

Girl On Fire

As I'm sure most of you have heard of the The Hunger Games and its release on the 23rd. I was not able to go see the midnight showing but did go to see it yesterday at noon. Good enough for me, so of course I had to spart some sort of Hunger Games nails, this is what I came up with.

I used the drag marble technique, which I had never tried before. For my first try I'm happy with the result.

Below is a tutorial that I basically followed.

Used:

Base coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps

2 coats of China Glaze- Smoke and Ashes as a Base Color

Flames: China Glaze- Poinsettia

China Glaze- Riveting (used 3 from the Hunger Games collection)

Wet N Wild- The Wonder Yellows

China Glaze- Electrify

Then finally topped off with 2 thick coats of Seche Vite

My first mood polishes

I have been MIA I'm sorry for that, I knew it had been awhile since posting but had no idea it had been quite this long. There are reasons to my disappearance though, first off I went to Las Vegas on march 9th we left, I had meant to post the day before leaving but just did not have the time. Then I though I would just post when we got there, but they didn't have free wifi, I refused to pay to use it for just an hour or so. I could of posted from my phone but honestly I didn't want to, it would of been more of a hassle than anything. So the plan from there was just to post when I got home on march 14th, but of course my body had other plans for me.

So the day after getting home, my allergies decided to come at me full force, then invited in some sort of cold to further make me miserable. So I've been fighting that for about a week now. Between trying to sleep and going to work when I absolutely had too, today was one of the first times I've even been on my computer let alone thinking about writing a blog post, cropping & watermarking pictures and all. I'm also one of those annoying whiny sick people, that complains about everything and just not a happy camper. So needless to say there was no way I was doing anything really.

Anyway on to my Vacay, Las Vegas means a few things to me, being who I am and my love of polish, I had heard that Island Girl polish can be found there, So naturally I had a plan to find some. What kind of Nail polish Junkie would I be if I didn't right...? So on to two of my newest polishes, along with the regular Island Girl colors they have a bunch of "mood" polishes, I bought 5 of those I believe, a set of three and then two by themselves.

Another thing Vegas meant to me was the NASCAR race, yay that was alot of fun, the mani I have to show you today is what I actually wore to the race. I packed a bunch of polishes, q-tips, make-up sponge, polish remover, and pretty much anything I might need to change my polish, then of course having bought a bunch of new polishes I used something new on Saturday night for the race. Since the mani I had on before that was done very late at night after a few attemps on thursday night before leaving, and was just something I hated. I did take pictures I may or may not even post them, We'll see.

Onto the pictures hope you like em...

The Island girl Mood polishes did not have names on them, So I have here teal/ bright tealish green color and a Light/ dark pink.

I only used the two polishes for this mani. The pink doesn't seem to change as drastically as the teal did, I could actually barely tell a change. But the teal went from a darker calmer color to a very bright almost neon teal color. It was pretty cool.

On a side note the application of these was ok- ish, the polish is kinda weird I believe I applied 3 thin coats. Also the brushes on both of these were awful bent funny and weird to use. They did dry pretty fast though, not too fast to affect application though.

The Teal wore pretty good these were taken after a full day of wear. As you can see the pink was chipping a bit, however my nails had been peeling a bit on those two nails, so they were thin and a little too flexible. So that would probably be why it chipped so fast.

OPI Mermaid's Tears

So for this mani I knew what I wanted to do. Wanted teal with gold glitter, I'm not a fan of gold in any form jewelry, clothing, polish, or whatever. I only have a few gold polishes and a couple of gold glitters. But I have seen people pair Gold and Teal together and it looks really good. So I had to try some variation of that.

So I went with a teal and a Gold glitter gradient from the cuticle. Then when I was finished I decided to add a little something to it. Finally settled on an image from the first Bundle Monster set. So here it is...

Orly Nail Armor as a base

3 coats OPI Mermaid's Tears

Sponged on China Glaze Blonde Bombshell

Stamped with Wet N Wild Black Creme using Bundle monster plate

topped with Gelous then Seche Vite

I had never actually used Mermaid's Tears, I do have Orly Ancinet Jade seen here which is supposed to be a dupe of each other. It's been a long time since I used Ancient Jade so I'm not really sure how they compare application wise. But mermaid's tears needed 3 coats but doesn't seem too thick on the nail.

All in all I'm really happy with how this turned out. will definitively try this look again with other colors and stamps.

China Glaze Near Dark

Today I'm gonna show a mani I did real quick the other night. It was late and I just had to change my polish. Originally I wanted to paint all my nails black and add some sparkle to a couple of nails but I could not find my black so when I saw Near dark sitting there I figured why not it's pretty and I hadn't used it yet. So here it is...

3 thin coats China Glaze Near Dark

2 coats China Glaze Some Like it Haute on ring finger and thumb

topped with Gelous on those 2 nails then Seche Vite over everything.

So Near dark is kinda of weird. It was really thin and runny. After I figured that out though I applied thin coats and it seemed to work ok. Ended up using 3 thin coats and still had VNL which kind of annoyed me but not too much. It was ok for a couple of days.

Also don't mind the tip wear and the chip, these were taken on the second day of wear.

So the lovely Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails is having a Nail art Contest, can be anything just needs to be done with dotting tools, so at first I wasn't sure what I wanted to after thinking of a few idea I chose to try the drippy mani. Which I hadn't tried yet, so for a first try I am happy with how it came out. Ok on to the pictures...

Just the day before I did these, I found the new Cast Aways collex and of course had to have them all, and as I was looking at them and trying to decide which ones I "needed" since buying all right then just wasn't an option, my bf takes five of them to buy for me yay. He is such an enabler but that ok...Also found Green Ocean and the Nabi magnetics, yay got two of those can't wait to try.

I used 6 out of the 8 Cast Aways all together, they all applied very well but then most all Sinful Colors I've used are really good. Which is most of their core line lol what can I say, the first I bought were Daddy's Girl and San Francisco, I had to have more after those two.

Sorry about the weird lighting I took these right before the sun was going down outside. I usually take my pics in front of a window with light coming through, but at that time it was already getting dark inside, another 10 minutes and I wouldn't of made it.

Double Zebra w/ a little sparkle

Just a quick post today, but with a ton of pictures. When I started this mani I originally wanted to use do a black and white zebra simple right? Well I picked a frosty white to use so I started with my base of Orly Nail Armor and went to work with Orly Au Champagne, Well after the first coat on both hands I waited a few mintutes to let dry... Normal right? Well a few more minutes go by and it just wasn't drying. It was still tacky even on nails that I did a super thin coat, So I scrapped that idea maybe I will try Au Champagne again but I was kind of in a hurry so plan b it was. Which was Zoya Dove with black and pink zebra and holo glitter on top. Turned out pretty good so I was happy... And here are my pictures...

And these pics below are before cleanup so don't mind them. I really like the Mash plates my only problem is that the full nail images are just barely wide enough for my thumb nail. On my right hand I placed it good but on my left hand I placed it just slightly too far over ugh it's annoying but not too bad. Most of the time I can get it just right just not that day.

Smoky Canvas + Glass Slipper = Ooohh Pretty

I picked up Revlon's Smoky canvas not too long ago on clearance, at first I wasn't going to get it but I kept going back to look at it, it's not quite grey but not quite beige either. It's a true taupe color, but does look grey in most lighting. This color is just so pretty on its own, I wasn't sure if I would like it on sometimes I have the intention to paint a color then when I start I just don't like it at all, but this was not the case with this color. Applied very easily with two coats, I had expected it to be thin and maybe need to be built up but not the case. I probably could of gotten away with one thick coat instead of two thinner ones but I pretty much always use two coats.

To add a little something I decided to add Sally Hansen Glass Slipper on top, I love this polish its just so pretty, White Flackies need I say more... ok on to the pics

And after wearing this for a couple days I was fed up with my longer nails, and cut them back down.

Last Valentine Mani

So this mani is a bit simpler than the last one I showed you. It turned out pretty subtle, I hadn't meant too but was really happy with it.

This is 2 coats of Color Club Rev'd Up stamped with Bundle monster plates using China Glaze Velvet bow, and an NYC dark purple sorry I'm not sure of the name and not around my stash to go check.

Rev'd up applied so well, and pretty I almost just left it at that it was so shiny all by itself, but I could't I had to add my stamps on there too.

Valentine Ombre

This was actually my first try at an ombre nails and I wasn't even planning on it just kind of happened because I wanted to do a gradient of pinks, Well of course that would mean a ombre but well I I didn't even think of it that way until I was done lol. Yea I know I'm a little slow sometimes...
