So if you had uploaded an image to Imageshack and posted it on your blog or as a background, then your image would not show and the Imageshack frog picture with the above text would show up instead. Without registering right now your only option is to switch to using the ‘Embed thumbnail of this image’ code on the site.

Integer Overflow 001 files

Files with the following filenames: name.001, name.002, name.003 etc, which we will call 001 files. Normally these files are not compressed like RAR files, but just split by a file splitter, without compression. Joining would be a better term for what we are about to do. Using HJSplit you have an error "Integer Overflow"

Proceed to join these files with 7-Zip

After installing 7-Zip, right click the 001 file & select 7-Zip to extract files

DNS Make Simple

Domain Name System (DNS) is a naming system or a database for computers connected to Internet. it translates domain names example www.example.com into a raw number called IP address, 208.77.188.166.

For humans it is easy to remember names like www.example.com, but it is not the same for computers, they use IP address as names to refer each other.

When we type www.example.com into our browser address bar and hit enter the browser sends a request to DNS server asking for the IP address then the DNS will check its cache or database for the same and will locate the host where the web pages are located or stored and will inform the browser which will then load the web pages.

This searching or locating process is known as domain lookup, which is provided by every internet service provider.

So DNS makes a lots of difference in how a web page loads, normally DNS provided by ISP's are poor in performance so it is better to switch to other DNS providers who are reliable.

Changing DNS Settings in Windows
1- go to Network and sharing center
2- then click Change adapter settings (located on left side)
3- right click on your preferred connection (mine is wireless) then select properties.
Click Networking Tab
4- Select "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" then click properties.
5- select "use the following DNS server addresses"
6- enter "8.8.8.8" as the preferred and "8.8.4.4" as the Alternate.
7- restart the connection and enjoy
8- done!

Is Google DNS faster?
"Google claims that its DNS service is faster than others, so I tested by running the nslookup command at the command line in a simple batch file that also displays start and finish times to see how long it takes to complete using a specified DNS server's address. I tested on a PC located in New York City using Verizon as the ISP.

The differences are in tenths and hundredths of a second, but over the course of a day's Web surfing, that can add up, especially for sites that require multiple DNS lookups. I noticed that more obscure sites, such as www.atomische.com, took longer than popular sites on the first try—since the DNS server being used would have to fetch the IP address from another authoritative server the first time, and after that, my chosen DNS server would usually have cached the address, making subsequent lookups much quicker. Strangely, after this first lookup, the more obscure sites actually were faster than the popular ones. "

"I can't imagine the vast majority of users will bother changing their DNS settings, or even know what they are—unless of course they're peeved by their ISP hijacking "not found" pages with unwanted search results. That's one nice, if minor, benefit of Google DNS.

As far as the privacy of your surfing habits goes, either you trust that Google is doing what it says it is or you don't. Overall, I don't see speed as a reason to switch to Google DNS, as local ISP DNS servers will usually be adequate, and OpenDNS is marginally faster than either. Still, if you're given to tweaking your computer and suspect that you're not getting all the speed you could (and who doesn't, sometimes) you might want to point to a different DNS server. Personally, I'd recommend OpenDNS, based on my tests. If you do change DNS servers, let us know about your experiences in the comments section of this story."

Restoring Safe Mode affected by Virus

Malware disables - Windows XP - Safe Mode(F8) by corrupting the SafeBoot registry keys & registry restoring method.

Firstly
a)run Malwarebytes.
b) Delete all malwares it finds
c) Reboot
d) Repeat (a)
e) if malwares still exist it means you have to run it in safe mode which is also disabled by viruses.
f) Then follow the below steps utilizing Hiren's BootCd and run malwarebyte again in safe mode.

Steps:-
1) Download Hiren's BootCD 14 Full Tools (30/5/2011) ,[Hiren's BootCD is a completely free bootable CD that contains a load of useful tools you can make use of in a variety of situations like analyzing, recovering and fixing your computer even if the primary operating system can not be booted.] See its utilities here
2) Burn ISO image file to CD
3) Restart system to boot from CD with Hiren's BootCD inserted.
4) When Hiren's BootCD menu appears, Select Windows Mini XP and click "enter".
5) Run Avira AntiVir Personal (24-05-2011)(Right Click HBCD icon at notification area or system tray located in the bottom-right of the primary monitor to select.

Use in "Ask" mode when virus is detected. Delete with "This file only" rule so it will not delete other files deem as the same virus infection. Use "Disarm" if not sure. (Or "Rename" function )

Malicious Files to look out & delete:-

a) Windows NT/hypertrm.exe
b) System 32/dnsq.dll
c) System 32/Com/netcfg.000
d) System 32/Com/netcfg.dll
e) services.exe
f) SMSS.exe
g) LSASS.exe

~.exe.152319.exe type, commonly at program start menu. (Explorer does not launch at windows startup)

6) Reboot without Hiren's BootCD
7) Restore(Double-Click) SafeBoot registry file uploaded for you as follows:-

SafeBoot-for-Windows-Server-2003-Standard-R2-SP2

1) Windows Movie Maker
Windows Movie Maker is a video creating/editing software application, included in Microsoft Windows Me, XP, and Vista.

a). In the Contents pane or on the storyboard/timeline, select the video clip you want to take a picture from.
b). Do one of the following:
* On the monitor, move the playback indicator on the seek bar to the frame of the video that you want to capture as a picture.

* On the Play menu, click Play Storyboard or Play Timeline, depending on the view you are working in, and then pause playback at the frame of video you want to capture as a picture.
c). On the Tools menu, click Take Picture from Preview.

2) Capture a still image from a Media Player video in Windows 7

Type without using the keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard):
Open On-Screen Keyboard by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking On-Screen Keyboard.

On-Screen Keyboard lets you type and interact with your computer using an alternative input device like a switch, rather than the physical keyboard. On-Screen Keyboard displays a visual keyboard with all of the standard keys. You can select keys using the mouse or another pointing device, a small groups of keys, or just one key, depending on how you set up On-Screen Keyboard.

Set the keyboard mode to 'Hover', mouse over the CTRL and ALT keys to arm them, wait till you reach the point in the video you want to capture and quickly move the 'Print Scrn' key.

youtube movies not loaded with firefox

Youtube videos will not load. You get a black rectangle with no tabs under it (meaning you cannot watch the videos in pop-out mode). You have the most recent flash, java, and directx required. The problem persists in firefox browser. All other online video sites work just fine.

Solution 1: Clear your cache and cookies, by following these steps:

1. Open the Tools menu at the top of the Firefox window, select Clear recent history
2. In the Clear recent history window, select Everything from the dropdown list.
3. Click the arrow next to Details once, then check Cache and Cookies.
4. Now, click the Clear now button to clear history.

Solution 2: Change the HTTP in the address bar to HTTPS and click Refresh tab at toolbar.

How to Export Your Data from MyBlogLog

Export Your Data from MyBlogLog with Manny,one of the old MyBlogLog engineers, Python script that uses the MyBlogLog API to archive everything for you.

It creates a directory on your hard drive (Windows & Linux only) and creates up to four files for each contact (sites authored, an hcard file, a list of their communities, and a list of services).

1. Download the script (right-click & save as mbl_depart.py)

2. Install a Python interpreter such as current production version Python 2.7.1. Remember, this script only works if you’re on Windows or Linux. Once you’ve installed Python, copy the script into the same directory where you installed Python.

3. Edit the the script with a text editor and replace “foo” with your Yahoo API key. If you don’t have one, you can login to Yahoo and go to the YDN site to request a key. You only need the Generic key because you do not need to authenticate to read the data you are getting.

4. Run “cmd” to get a DOS window, navigate to the directory then run the code with your MyBlogLog username as the parameter. For example,

cd c:\python27
python mbl_depart.py iankennedy

The script should then run in the command window (if not, you may need to add your python directory to your path variable). The script will save all your data to the directory where you installed python in a directory the with the same name as your username. Subdirectories will be there for all your contacts.

In telecommunications, data transfer is usually measured in bits per second. On Ethernet local area networks, data transfer can be as fast as 10 megabits per second. In computers, data transfer is often measured in bytes per second. For example, when a "1 Mbps" connection is advertised, it usually means that the maximum achievable download bandwidth is 1 megabit/s (million bits per second), which is actually 0.125 MB/s (megabyte per second) or 125KB/s/(kilobyte per second).

The data transfer rate is commonly used to measure how fast data is transferred from one location to another. Data transfer rates are typically measured in bits per second (bps) as opposed to bytes per second, which can be understandably confusing. Connect Rate is measured in Kb/s (or Kbs same thing, the s just mean per second), Mb/s, Gb/s etc etc, which is short for Kilobits, Megabits and Gigabits per second etc etc, key thing being connect rate is measured in bits per second. And Connect rate is the rate that you are physically connected to something at. b (little b or lower case) for bit, and big or upper case B for byte, remember that. Now there are 8 bits in 1 byte. (for e.g. 1000 kilobits is 125 kilobytes) So with a connect rate of 1000Kbps your MAX transfer rate is 1000/8 = 125KB/s as expressed in your torrent software. Due to lots of variables over a long distance (weather, humidity, line quality, temperature, static, interference, line noise etc[More notoriously the capacity of the Internet Provider is oversubscribed]), the rate your are connected can be less than subscribed rate that you could be connected to at the time of reconnecting.

Gmail & Images

Gmail is not displaying images.‎

Each is an alternative solution on its own.

1) Clicked the "Display images" link at the top of the email?

2) In IE:
Go to Internet Options
Go to Security
Click on the Internet icon
Click on the Custom level button
Scroll down and near the bottom, look for "Display Mixed Content"
Change it to Enable
Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media player - Enable
Next click on "ok" then followed by "Apply" to be done.

3) Right before you open an e-mail which contains pictures, you'll probably get a pop-up message asking if you wish to see only content which is secure - you should answer 'No,' and then you will be able to see the pictures OK.

4) In Gmail click on "Settings" (top right of the page), then "General," then scroll down to "Browser connection." The options there are "Always use https" and "Don't always use https." Choose "Don't always use https", save setting, logout or close browser and log back in with only http in the address bar, and images will display.

OR setting to always use https & maually change the URL to http://mail.google.com
Gmail default browser settings need to be https.
To disable or re-enable this feature in Gmail:

1.Sign in to Gmail.
2.Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
3.Set 'Browser Connection' to 'Always use https.'
4.Click Save Changes.
5.Manually change the URL to http://mail.google.com to start accessing Gmail via http.

Please note that selecting 'Always use https' will prevent you from accessing Gmail via HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol). If you trust the security of your network, you can turn this feature off at any time.

4) Go into Settings Tab within Gmail, under Labs, and ENABLE the Picassa web email option. Don't forget to go to the bottom and SAVE CHANGES or it won't work. Gmail will then reload and you should be able to see images in messages again.

5) Gmail view: standard -click basic HTML at the very bottom of the page

6) This problem can be fixed by configuring your firewall option. You will once more get to see the images
in the mail.

7) Try viewing them when Firefox is run in safe-mode... if it works then the problem is one of your installed extensions...or a setting within..
This is only for Firefox safe-mode...Don't check off any of it's safe-mode boxes...

8) Norton may be the cause of the blocking of pictures. Do you use the Norton toolbar?... if so, then you might want to uninstall that bar...or disable it to see what happens.

A passport picture is just a small picture. at the size of 4.5cmX3.5cm (5cmX5cm American, 5cmX7cm Canadian and there may be other sizes for different countries.

Pictures taking required by Passport Office

* Two identical photos.
* Photos must be taken within last month.
* The photo must be taken against a light background (either white, off white, cream or light grey so that your features are distinguishable and contrast against the background).
* Clear and of good quality.
* Printed on low gloss, plain white photo-quality paper with no watermarks, embossing or printing on the back. Using professional or high-res inkjet printer
* Free from copyright (school photos are not acceptable)
* Unmounted 45mm high x 35mm wide. (do not trim bigger photos to meet this condition)
* Full face (without sunglasses and normally without a hat unless the applicant wears a head covering due to their religious beliefs or their ethnic background, which is acceptable)

Taking the photo:
Take a white sheet and used grips to tightly fasten it to a background. The grips pulled the sheet to create an even surface perfect for passport photos to be taken against. Placed a chair around a foot (30cm) in front of the background, this way a shadow from the subject wasn't cast in the picture. If you're using flash, having them this close to the background will also stop the picture from being underexposed or dark. If you are using flash remember to watch-out for red eye and reflections as these are not allowed to be on a passport photograph.

The picture is to be framed through the viewfinder so you will have a tight crop of the head and shoulders and take several images so you will have a variety to choose from. They are to be taken at full resolution, although as the image size is only going to be small you can use a lower setting of around 640x480 pixels.

Editing the Photograph:

Once you decided on the chosen image you place it into Photoshop to edit the size to meet the requirements of the Identity and Passport Service. This process is not manipulating the photograph, You don't alter the light or any of the facial features just the size of the image.

Methods:

The 640x480 dimensions are not quite the same proportions as the necessary for example 35x50mm Malaysia passport size, so when you reduce the image it won't be the exact size necessary. There's a useful trick that allows you to reduce the picture at the same time as making a crop.

In Photoshop when you select the Crop tool it gives you the option of specifying a fixed crop size to a necessary resolution. See the bar above. We've keyed in a 3.5cm width,5.0cm height and 300dpi resolution. Now when you make a crop it will save the crop to the size keyed in the figures, doing the whole job in one go.
Now we need to place two copies of the photo on a canvas ready to print. With the cropped picture still on view select All (Ctrl+A) and copy (Ctrl+C). Now select new (Ctrl+N).Your program will show a box that has the sizes of your picture already set. Make sure the background colour is light blue (Malaysia) and select Background Colour from the contents options (canvas colour). Change the dimensions to just over 2x the indicated height and width (8cm x 10cm will be fine) and click okay. Now click (Ctrl+V) to paste the picture you've just copied onto the newly opened light blue canvas.

Alternate Background color change:
With the picture open in the editing program make a selection of the colored background. Use either the lasso selection tool, the magic wand or a similar, to draw around the hair and then use the +/- selection keys to make the selection accurate around the hairline. Feather the selection using a pixel value of around 30. This will be enough for our 640x480 resolution and ensures that the changes you make to the background don't make the photo look like a bad cut out..
Now we will change the background to make it to the color of choice. Select layer, set desired foreground color and press Option/Alt+Delete. To apply background color press Command/Ctrl+Delete. Also, you can use paint bucket tool. See Also Here

Use the Move tool to drag the picture into the top left corner. Then paste the second picture into place (Ctrl+V) and again move this so that it aligns up to the first pic leaving a small gap between the two that will be used to cut the pictures when printed.

As we're going the traditional passport booth route we've printed four on a sheet. Aligning the bottom two below the first two. The other two can be sent off to Nan and boyfriend for purse/wallet fodder! When you have everything aligned use the Crop tool to trim off any unwanted surround, again leaving a slight white border around the set of four photos for trimming purposes when printed.

Next we are ready to print. Hopefully you will have a program that allows you to set up the printing specs. The passport leaflet indicates that a resolution of 1440dpi is necessary. Most modern printers output at this resolution. So choose the 'best' print setting. Also use high quality paper. We've gone for the 4x6in 180gsm Inkjet paper. If there's an option centre the image and select 4x6 from the list of paper sizes. Do not select 'scale to fit media' because this will enlarge the photos making them too big. VIA

How do I change the background color of a passport picture in photoshop cs4.?

The easiest way to do this would be to trace around the face using either the pen tool or the polygonal lasso tool (using a 1px feathering on the polygonal lasso usually works well with 150dpi effects, 2-3px feathering on 300dpi). Once you've done this, hit control+J to copy your selection onto a new layer precisely above the original layer. This way, you can play with the color replacement of the original layer without compromising the face itself.

As far as changing the color, the 'replace color' function is the easiest route - You'll find it under Image > adjustments > replace color. Then just click on the background color with your eyedropper, adjust the fuzziness slider until only the background is selected, and change the color using the palette on the toolbar. You may have already tried this and gotten the blue 'bleed' you were describing - but if you have the face copied to a top layer as described above, you won't get that bleeding issue.
