John Cardno - Scam Tickets For Music Festivals?

Hmmmm…. it’s kinda hard to stay on the sidelines here…. I’ve got problems with people replying to a post about T In The Park, whilst monitoring logs which show people are actually checking up on this guy - John Cardno, and asking if he is a scam. Should you buy tickets for festivals off John Cardno? Is this a ticket scam?

Is John Cardno selling fake scam tickets for festivals? I don’t know - but what I do know is that this post should probably rank no1 (or thereabouts) for his name, to warn him and others that people certainly think John Cardno is a scam, a cheat, a tout not to be trusted. I hope he is not.

I love music festivals - I go to as many as possible. I’m sitting here thinking…. is John Cardno using this site to disappoint festival goers by selling scam tickets?

I actually ask john Cardno - please come forward - this site has the authority to rank no1, 2 or 3 for your name….. is this a total misunderstanding? I certainly hope so. Please - I’ll post a story about how John Cardno is a good guy and not a scamming B.

Glastonbury Announces Next Two Dates | Register For 2010 Tickets

We have some great news.

You can now register to buy tickets for next years Glastonbury music festival in 2010.

If that weren’t enough, organisers have announced the dates for the following two years.

Before taking a break in 2012.

But there is still some great music to look forward to, in 2010 and2011, at Glastonbury.

Next years event will be held over five days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2010.

The following festival will run from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26th June 2011.

If you want to buy tickets to Glastonbury 2010( including children aged 13 years and over) then you have to register.

Then you will receive a ticket with the name and photograph of the registered person printed on it.

If the passes are intended for somebody else,though such as a friend or family member, then make sure they have been registered.

They otherwise run the risk of being rejected, which could render tickets worthless as they are non-transferable.

However, being registered does not reserve you a ticket for the festival when go on sale in October (with the exact date yet to be confirmed).

Although it will not be possible to buy a a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2010 if you have failed to register.

The Oxegen music festival have released tickets to this years event on Friday the 6th of March at 8am.

Music fans will then swoop down to buy passes to one of the biggest dates of the calender in Ireland.

The organisers of T in The Park have provided a life line for music fans of who thought they might not be able to get tickets, this year, with the welcome news that a batch of event passes are being re-released back on sale to the public,on Friday 6th March at 10am.

T In The Park 2009 will be held at Balado in Scotland on Friday the 10th to Sunday the 12th of July 2009.

Neil Young To Play Isle Of Wight

It has just been announced that legendary Oscar nominated Canadian artist Neil Young will be playing this years Isle of Wight festival.

He will be the headliner on the Sunday night in an exclusive appearance.

A ground breaking and highly influential musician, Young has been going for over four decades now. A noted solo artist, he has experimented with many different musical styles over the years, from swing, blues and jazz to rockabilly and even electronic.

Neil Young has also branched off into the movie industry. He received an Academy Award nomination for his song from the Tom Hanks movie `Philadelphia (losing to Bruce Springsteen for his track from the same film). However, it is a little known fact that Young himself has actually directed many movies under an assumed name ( Bernard Shakey), such as `Rust Never Sleeps` and `Human Highway`. In 2008, he was at the helm of CSNY Déjà Vu, a documentary about his old band Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, as they set off on their 2006 Freedom of Speech tour.

The film closed Robert Redford’s 2008 Sundance Film Festival and is available on DVD.

Neil Young will now be playing at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival to mark his return to country music with the release of his brand new 2009 record ‘Fork in the Road.

, “I have tried every year since we restarted the event to book Neil Young.,” says Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings.

“His music is part of my life and has inspired generations ever since. I’m sure that his performance will be talked about for years to come.”

Glastonbury Plans 40th Birthday Bash For 2010

The masterminds behind Glastonbury have announced that the 2010 event will include a spectacular Greatest Hits’ feature, to celebrate forty years of the festival.

BBC 6 Music News has reported that festival organiser Emily Eavis has said that next year’s Glastonbury will feature a special one off event to commemorate.

The plan is to apparently invite an artist from each year in the festivals history to perform at both the Pyramid Stage and smaller stages in 2010.

“It’s our first 40th anniversary next year ” Miss Eavis said. ” we’re talking to lots of bands at the moment about that, and we want to have a band from every year on the Pyramid stage over the weekend.”

The Glastonbury music festival was founded way back in 1970. However, it has not exactly been held each and every year since, having missed a period in the 70s from 1972 until 1978. There were also no events staged in 1988, 1991,2001 or 2006.

That means there will be only 27 artists to represent the forty years of the festival. However, it is still an incredible proposition, to have all of these exciting acts at the main stage. The event will then conclude with a celebration and performance of whats being called Glastonbury’s ‘Greatest Hits’. The ideal way to to mark this birthday.

“I think we’ll try and make a lot of the biggest performances on some of the tinier stages,” Miss Eavis continued.” so we’re going to do something really special for our 40th anniversary.”

The Glastonbury Music Festival 2010 is set to run for five days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June.

In the meantime, music fans are hotly anticipating this years event. Due to held at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset and run for five days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009 .

Unfortunately, tickets sold out months beforehand. Although there are reportedly a small number of cancelled tickets due to be made available on Sunday 5th April 2009 at 9am.

Have Faith!-Faith No More Set For Download

The Download Heavy metal festival will feature US rockers Faith No More headlining this summer, it has been confirmed.

Faith No More have got back together for the first time since their break up in 1998, and this will reportedly be their only British date.

Although the band have said that they are “still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we’ve decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff…. BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!”

“Faith No More were the band that started the whole alternative music scene.” says Andy Copping, Vice President of Promotions for Live Nation.

“To have them play for the first time in eleven years exclusively at Download is amazing! The seventh Download festival will be held at Donington Park, Castle Donington, Leicestershire.on Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2009.

Tickets will cost you £135 for a full weekend ticket.Meanwhile, camping is an extra £25 (family camping is also available). A car parking ticket will cost you £10 advance, £20 on the day, camper vans tickets are priced at £40, and lockers will be £11. Kids aged 12 or under will be eligible for concession rate tickets. Line Up Announced For V Festival 2009

This years V music festival has announced the line up of acts set to rock the crowd at this summers twin events. Due to take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire simultaneously.

The V Festival will have US band The Killers and the unstoppable Gallagher brothers Oasis headlining, according to the festival web site.

The Las Vegas outfit, headed by Brandon Flowers. will take top billing at Chelmsford on Saturday and Stafford on the Sunday.

Oasis, on the other hand, will close Staffordshire on the Saturday and headline Chelmsford on Sunday.

The line up confirmed for V will feature such artists as a returning Specials, Snow Patrol, Elbow, Razorlight and Keane, Fat boy Slim, Pendulum, The Ting Tings, MGMT, The Streets and The Wombats.

Ireland’s Oxygen festival have added to this summers line up with news that the mighty Manic Street Preachers, the sensational Lady Gaga and US hip hop star The Game will be coming.

They will not be the only addition to this years Oxegen festival. It will feature a brand new one of a kind Red Bull Music Academy Arena. Rock Ness 2009 Hold Dj Contest

The Rock Ness music festival has announced a contest to find the weekend’s resident DJ in the Clash Arena at this summers event.

The winning contestant will get a once in a lifetime chance to be apart of the exciting roster of artists DJing by the banks of Loch Ness.

They will be judged by an illustrious panel made up of festival director Jim King, Harri of Sub Club fame , Dave Clarke, the owner of Soma Records and Mickey McMonagle.They will preside over a shortlist of entrants. Before finalists go through a series of heats all over Scotland.

The competition winner will find them-self part of a line up including confirmed artists such as Friday headliners Placebo and The Flaming Lips. Saturday nights headlining acts Obital, Dizzee Rascal and Basement Jaxx. With The Prodigy and Biffy Clyro headlining Sunday.

Kraftwerk And Massive Attack For Bestival

Legendary German rock band Kraftwerk and hip hop outfit Massive Attack have been added to the line up the excellent music event called Bestival.

This years festival has an outer space theme to it. This will be summed up by the masters of synthesizer electronic music headlining the Saturday night, in what will be an exclusive appearance at a British festival.

Massive Attack will be the headlining act on the Friday . However the organisers are yet to reveal what artist will be topping the bill on the Sunday night.

Whoever it turns out to be, they will be accompanying the New York act MGMT who have chosen Bestival to be one of the two festivals they will play in the summer.

They will be apart of a list of artists playing over the 14 stages, such as folk singer Seasick Steve, Klaxons, noted film composer Michael Nyman, The Beat, Bat For lashes, Little Boots, Fleet Foxes,The Future Sounds Of London and Squarepusher.

There will be other acts like the Award winning Florence & The Machine, Fujiya and Miyagi,Bjorn Again, Friendly Fires, Dub Pistols,Metronomy, James Yuill, VV Brown, Free Peace and Chase & Status.

The line-up boasts Welsh hip hop crew Goldie lookin`Chain, Golden Silvers, The Cuban Brothers, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Beardyman, Ebony Bones, 65Day sofStatic, Passion Pit, Altern8 and dans le sac Vs Scroobius Pip.

Artists for Bestival also includes Bureka Som Sistema,Rusko, Peggy Sue, Major Lazer, Eat Static, Bastilla. Kid Carpet, The Ghost. Heartbeat and Kid Carpet.

You could hear Hockey play, Alessis Ark, Fake Bush, Bindfold, Bloco Electro, Chew Lips, Pivot, Efterkdang, Pole, Napoleon liird, It Hugs Back, Frightened Rabbit, Orkestra Del Sol, Joe Gideon & The Shark and Goodbye Stereo among others, with more artists to be added to the line up.

There is a brilliant line up of superstar DJs confirmed to do a set at the festival, like Saturday Big Top headliner Diplo. Bestival is due to take place over the weekend of Friday the 11th to Sunday the 13th of September 2009 at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.

The festival has a space age feel to it this year, according to director Rob da Bank, and boasting one special feature.

“This is The Year Of The Spectacular at Bestival ” he said

“– from the stupendous bands and DJs playing to an out of this world pyrotechnic spectacular called Blastival - a mad interactive trip to the moon involving me DJing off a rocket just before it fires off into the night sky on the Sunday! It’s gonna be out of the world – out of space in fact!””

One of the highlights of 2009 being ‘Year of the Spectacular’ will be an exciting special event running three nights called Blastival. It will employ the finest in street theatre and spectacular pyrotechnics to make up a fabulous show.

If that were not all, Bestival features a fantastic multi stage spanning 360-degree, named The After Burner, with a 10-meter tower built from jet engine parts as a centrepiece.

The tower is equipped with a DJ booth, where their superstar disc jockeys will spin the beats as The After Burner light up the night sky, producing smoke, water and fire works effects.

Bestival also boats having the greatest fancy dress party on the planet, which also takes on a special theme, from life under the sea, to pirates and cowboys.

The event site has a wide range of attractions available, from cubs and bars to food outlets, market stalls and children’s play areas.

There is also local cultural entertainment such as magic and morris dancing.

Blur Set For Glastonbury

There is some exciting news about Glastonbury 2009.

It has been revealed that Blur are set to play there as part of their fantastic return

Rumours have been flying around for a long time, building up fans anticipation. Well, front man Damon Albarn has finally announced that Blur will be performing at this summers festival.

“Yeah, we’re doing Glasto this year” he commented.“We need a few more warm-up gigs to get back into it, ready for the big one. Glastonbury’s great.”

It is believed that the band first began to implode in 2002 when Graham Coxon was reportedly asked to leave during the making of Blurs seventh album ‘Think Tank’ . It was apparently because he didn’t turn up for recording sessions.

Therefore, Blur have not toured since 2003, but now they could be coming to Glastonbury.

However, despite all of the excitement, the news has not been confirmed, as yet. So we will have to wait and see.

If Blur do make it, they will be joining other headliners set to play at Worthy Farm,Pilton in Somerset. Such as the legendary Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

The Glastonbury Festival lasts for five days from Wednesday the 24th to Sunday te 28th of June 2009.

The Game Plays T In The Park

US hip hop star and actor The Game will be wowing the crowd a this years T in The Park, it has been revealed.

He will be appearing alongside American band Of Montreal, Detroit’s Jeff Mills and indie outfit Friendly Fires.

They will be playing, among many other artists,at Balado in Scotland on Friday the 10th to Sunday the 12th of July 2009.

It s thought, unsurprisingly, that the majority of ticket packages for this years festival were snapped up by music fans as soon as they went out on sale on Friday the 27th of February at 9am.

So the race is on to grab what tickets may remain.

There are said to be only Weekend Non Camping Coach Packages left. An exciting new feature making its debut in 2009. This is, apparently, the only sure way that music fans can make it to the entire event, over the three days, without having to camp.

There are two options open to festival goers : two day Saturday/Sunday tickets and a brand new three day ticket that allows entry to Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It also offers three return Citylink tickets, as well as coach or tipi tickets.
