Unfettered, which launched with KinkFest 2004 last December, has announced monthly London Kink Workshops. They've planned and booked a whole program for the year, starting in May. They usually happen on the 4th Sunday of the month 2pm-5pm at a venue called 'The Fringe'.

While I write up the notes, here's where you can download the torrent, and the software (marked 'Easy Download', if you've not already got a BitTorrent client) for the new show! The software is a couple of megabytes, and the show itself around 8mb - but the software will also let you just download the .torrent file next time - and will speed things along anyway as well.

I'll put it into the podcasts as the first item, so it will be picked up by FeedBurner and put in as the enclosure. For the non-geeks - or those with out a torrent-capable client, you'll want to visit http://www.fetishradio.org.uk/bt/ to download the software to handle it, and installing a Bittorrent client to be able to get the next one that much more easier. It sounds complicated, but just go to the new /bt/ and it will all be explained.

There is also a torrent-only RSS feed that you can use, but that is just the files, and no comments on the fetishradio community.

I'm out and about the next couple of weekends, an so I'm going to see if I can do some mobile recordings for FetishRadio - a few tests using my iRiver 799 and a newly bought microphone shows that it works quite nicely - thank you, the geek candy store, Maplins!

I'm intending to do a few short (10 to 20 minutes) 'casts just talking about whatever comes to mind (think morning coffee notes for the kinky-minded) - but if there is something you'd like mentioned - please let me know, and I'll try to do so!

The Vincent Razorbacks

Anyone who was at The Power Exchange’s relaunch night last September would have seen the short set by The Vincent Razorbacks. Well, they’re coming back! Not to The Power Exchange, but to The Railway Inn, Winchester on Saturday 5th March.

Doors open at 8.00 and support is from The Automatics – a very fine band to get the night going. The Razorbacks will be on at about 9.45, for a full set featuring many trashy gems from their brilliant new album.

If you are a fan of Vince Ray’s fetish retro B-movie artwork, then you will definitely enjoy his band. Described as “…voodoo rock from a fur lined swamp…”, they belt out 3 minute tongue-in-cheek odes to all their favourite vices – loose women, fiery liquor, kinky living and deviant drugs – all in the cosy live setting of the music room at The Railway. My new project - Fetish Talk Radio.

Are there any A/V geeks in the house? Or any other skills you think may be useful for Talk Radio - specifically fetish and sexuality radio? I'm talking about music, promo makers, maybe graphics and web-designers, as well as people that just love to talk.

I've setup fetishradio and I'm looking for other people that are interested in making their own shows, or, on a smaller scale making items I can use - like reviews/plugs of events, comments. If you have interview skills I'd love to have you talk to some important (and/or just fun) fetish-related people for an show. We've even got an agony aunt! Glamorous assistants always required!

I've made a post with a few more details about what I'm trying to do.

If you would like to hear my first, taster, episode, let me know - and I'll send you the URL.

Crossposted in bicon, polyamory_uk, ukbdsm, the home group fetishradio and my own journal. Because all of these groups have the sort of interests and people that I'd love to include.

What would you do if you had your own radio show?

This is not a theoretical question.

Here's some ideas right off the top of my head:

Chat and jokes
Music for scenes
Agony Aunt spots
Interviews with relevant people - fetish or sexuality
Reviews/plugs of munches, books, events - or toys!

Over the holidays I'm planning to assemble everything I need to make my own 'Podcast' - effectively a downloadable radio show - with the intention to make regular (monthly, maybe potentially more often) shows under the heading of 'Fetish Radio'. I'm looking for people that want to supply content, ideas, or to make their own shows under the same banner.

Wikipedia explains more about what a Podcast is.

Here are a few podcasts that are already getting potentially tens of thousands of listeners
* Daily Sourcecode, by former VJ Adam Curry,
* The Dawn and Drew Show!,
* Super Smart Radio Whore Sex Show Podcast,
* IT Conversations
* There are many more at sites such as podcastalley, audio.weblogs.com and podcastingnews.com.

In terms of 'UK Fetish Radio', I'm looking for something of a mix of all of the above - irreverent humour of Dawn and Drew, information, chat and music from Adam Curry. Sex from Cody Shin's RadioWhore and serious interviews from ITC. Not all in every episode, but generally with a running time of 20 mins to an hour, depending on the subject(s) involved, and how much they need.
