My wife has a 2014 Abarth conv. 5spd The tires are getting worn and we ordered 4 from an online supplier. 2 arrived and I went to a shop we've used for many years and had them mount and balance the 2 that came and install them on the rear. They are Continentals. Driving home from the shop, the car has turned into a demon! Up to maybe 45mph all is fine. Once you approach 50 the handling simply tries to kill you. While it responds to steering inputs it's all VERY exaggerated. Swerve left or right and it wants to take you off the road. The only time I have experienced anything like this was when her Cadillac had its yaw sensor fail and the stability system would react crazy and handling became VERY unsafe. As with the 500, the issue with the Cadillac just started out of the blue one day. Our tire shop has glass windows for you to watch the work. All the guy did was put it on the lift and remove the 2 rear tires and install new ones and put them back on. I can't imagine anythig was affected from that. Has anyone experienced this? It's as if something in the suspension either broke or if a sensor could cause this it failed. Any suggestions as to what I could look for would be greatly appreciated. The nearest dealer is quite far away.

I like this car better than the smaller new 500e.

Going to look at a 2013 Abarth this Saturday with full intentions of driving it home. Anything in particular to look out for. I will primarily be auto crossing it. And maybe driving to cars and coffe/car shows. Look forward to having another Hot hatch. I raced a Fiesta St for 2 seasons and miss it.

Picked up my Abarth a few weeks ago. Excited to make friends in a new car community. I WILL Be modifying her soon as I come from a "nothing left stock" frame of mind

An insurance appraiser has confirmed that my dead 12V and radio are likely caused by rodent damage, and so it will approve towing it to a mechanic for a full diagnosis, but I cannot find a single dealer in the Bay Area who will work on a 500e! I found one independent mechanic in SF, but he doesn't want to deal with insurance. Does anyone know of anyone who will diagnose and repair a 500e and work with insurance in the Bay Area?!
