The upcoming release of Assassins Creed is expected to hit our screens towards the end of the year or the early in 2017 (depending on where you’re based). It stars Irish-German actor Michael Fassbender in the lead role as Callum Lynch / Aguilar de Nerha. While the film is based on the video game franchise, the lead character is a new creation for the film.

If you’ve played the game then you probably know what to expect. But even if you have the trailers they’ve released so far are pretty damn good. The most recent one was released earlier today:

Assassins Creed goes on general release in Ireland on December 30th 2016.

Well Marseille gets its own version of the famous Hollywood sign:

The sign’s letters are nearly 50 feet tall (16 metres) and span over 300 feet (100 metres). As marketing stunts go it’s an interesting one.

The show stars Gérard Depardieu as Mayor Robert Taro, Benoît Magimel as Lucas Barrès, Géraldine Pailhas as Rachel Taro, Nadia Farès as Vanessa d’Abrantès and Stéphane Caillard as Julia.

The Dublin Greek Film Festival is being held from April 21st to April 24th in Dublin.

This year’s event is the 2nd to be held and will be held in several locations across the city:

• Chester Beatty Library
• Filmbase
• Omniplex Rathmines
• The Sugar Club

‘After a successful first edition the festival is back to Dublin to present not only recent Greek movies but also to introduce Greek music to Irish audiences. Everybody knows about ancient Greece but we want to give people the opportunity to explore modern Greek culture and cinema’ says Kiki Konstantinidou, Co- Founder of the Festival.

The first episode has received mixed reviews, but personally I thought it had some promise.

They announced earlier today that they’re hiring for the role in the UK and Ireland.

Netflix taggers work from home, so the job is open to pretty much anyone, assuming they fit the bill.

The second season will start airing in the US later this week and, predictably, there’s a promo video for the second season. It’s very visual and will catch your attention, but it doesn’t really give away anything:

Season 2 is apparently centred around the them of “darkness rising”. So it will be even darker than the first season – which wasn’t exactly “light” to begin with.
