I spent some of my down time this past year working on a personal project with a great crew of people. Tony Franklin and I came up with the concept. We shot 4 days last winter as well as 2 days this winter with the team. Josh Becker came in 2 days to help capture High Speed imagery on the FS700 and Nate Maydole gave us a fresh pair of eyes on the edit. Lastly, Nick Mihalevich came in big with a custom music track and Mike Forester helped wrap it up with a graphic treatment. We couldn't be happier with how the final piece turned out.

In February of 2013, I spent 2 weeks exploring the city of Bangalore, India. In Kannada, the regional dialect, Chennagiru means “Be Well”. To be well in ones life is a basic human experience that spans social class, skin color and geographical region. During my travels I met many amazing people who embodied the essence of Chennagiru, including a housekeeper named Paru. This is her story…
Local Natives took a short break in Minneapolis to help film the latest installment of Pitchfork's City of Music series. The performed "Bowery" off their album Hummingbird. My most recent collaboration with Jonathan Chapman is this short fashion film for Minneapolis lifestyle clothier Martin Patrick 3. We propped a loft and our model Ravi with items from the store and created a narrative with those pieces. We shot in a loft downtown with our small crew and came out with a beautiful piece!
I had the pleasure of once again working with Jonathan Chapman and the crew at Martian Williams on this shooting on this broadcast spot for the Minnesota Twins Community fund. We spent a long Saturday in February in the 20 degree Weather on Brownie Lake Shooting the piece. It would not have been possible without the huge cast and crew that was assembled to get the job Done. Jonathan's team also assembled a Behind the Scenes of the shoot to show all the magic that went into making the spot which is embedded below.

Dark Meadows is the inaugural collection from The Interior Plain Project. The Collection draws inspiration from a visual perspective of covert evil: the shadows that move at the edge of the woods, silhouettes on a moonlit evening that can’t be accounted for, the eerie stillness before a massive storm. The unique idea behind The Interior Plain Project is that each year they will rebrand the entire line of goods around a common theme. I had the chance to work very closely with IPP owner, Pete Harvieux, to concept this short and bring it to life. This was a huge Collaboration and I couldn't be happier how it turned out!
I had the privilege of traveling to Buenos Aires for work in early December. The first 2 days of the shoot we scouted some of the local neighborhoods and I had a chance to shoot these with my iPhone. It was a great experience and I look forward to sharing the final product of the shoot in the coming months.
I spent a week in San Francisco this past summer with Jonathan Chapman shooting second camera for this C9 spot. The concept was handled by KNOCK and the Stillmotion team came in to create the POV shots with there steadicam setup. The full cut is a 9 minutes long loop playing in the San Francisco City Target. Jonathan had the people at Splice tighten it up to this 5 minute spot for the directors cut.
I recently had the pleasure of traveling to Paris for a shoot. It was my first international gig and my first time in Europe so it was a completely new experience for me. Unfortunately it was a 48 hour trip so I only had an evening and a morning to cram in some sight seeing while I wasn't working. Here are a few shots of things I saw.
We rented the camera for a week to push it's capabilities and see how it fit into our current workflow. We brought on Tony Franklin and T.C. Worley of Royal Antler to help come up with a story and shoot.

We went from Minneapolis to the North Shore of Lake Superior. I had a great time running the C300 as well as Jump in the 40 degree water with a housed 7D.

After playing around with the footage a few different, I found the visuals fit perfectly with The Pines recent single, "all the While" and thus began our discussions with the band to make it there official video. A few revisions later we had this!
