New Devilman Anime coming to Netflix?

The Japanese version of the Netflix streaming service lists a "Netflix Original Devilman" project as of Thursday. The entry has no videos or images, but includes the following description:

A demon possesses a boy's dead body to do evil. But after falling in love with a human girl, he has a change of heart. Based on Go Nagai's hit manga.

The American web version of Netflix also has the same entry, but the entry does not appear when a user searches or browses the service's catalog.

Funimation Entertainment revealed today that it has acquired rights to Season 2 of My Hero Academia. The anime will premiere simultaneously in Japan, U.S., Canada, U.K. and Ireland on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Ken Leung has been cast in ABC’s “Marvel’s Inhumans,” Variety has learned. The “Lost” alum will play Karnak, based on the character from the comics.

“We now have on the lot down there now the largest film production ever with a $1 billion budget,” said Chick-fil-A CEO and Pinewood Atlanta Studios co-owner Dan Cathy. Though he could not name the production, Cathy is almost certainly talking about Avengers: Infinity War, which is filming at Pinewood. At $1 billion, that’s more than any other movie ever.

Following a series of teases over the last two weeks, Blizzard has finally unveiled the newest addition to Overwatch's roster: Orisa.

Orisa is a Tank-class character whose "gameplay is engineered around protection." Her weapon is the Fusion Driver, an automatic cannon that deals constant damage but slows her movement speed. The alternate fire is Halt, which launches a charge that she can detonate to slow enemies and pull them towards the explosion.

At a special event hyping the launch of BTOOOM! Online that was held in Tokyo on February 27, 2017, game producer Masato Hayashi concluded the presentation with a tantalizing public promise: if BTOOOM! Online makes it into the top 5 domestic app sales ranking, a new season of the BTOOOM! TV anime will be greenlit. [Editor: Let's hope that not only the game does well! I liked the BTOOOM! anime and manga]

This year's 14th issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is revealing on Thursday that Yū Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana are putting their Terraformars manga on hiatus on March 9 due to Sasuga's health issues. The magazine's editing staff added that the two creators are aiming to resume the manga this fall. (Courtesy ANN)

The official website for the new TV anime adaptation project based on Kentaro Miura's dark fantasy manga Berserk today announced the premiere schedule for its upcoming second season in Japan, starting on April 7. The anime film adapting Tsutomu Nihei's cyberpunk seinen manga BLAME! will be available on Netflix on May 20th. Blame! (Japanese: ブラム! Hepburn: Buramu!?), pronounced "blam", is a ten-volume 1998 cyberpunk manga by Tsutomu Nihei published by Kodansha.

The official website for the forthcoming Boruto -Naruto Next Generations- TV anime has been updated with new information regarding the anime's cast and key production staff along with a new key visual. The anime will premiere on April 5th in Japan. (CRUNCHYROLL)

Marvel announced on Monday that it is creating a new television anime series titled Marvel's Future Avengers. The new series will air on the BS (broadcast satellite) channel Dlife this summer, and will be intended for a young male audience. (Anime News Network)

The Movie Pilot website reported on Monday that Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Marvel's Luke Cage) will have two roles in Alita: Battle Angel, James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez's live-action film of Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita (GUNNM) manga. Ali reportedly revealed that he will have two roles in the film while speaking to the press after winning the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in Moonlight on Sunday. Twitch starts selling games this spring: Detailed in a blog post over at Twitch.tv, the new game sales program will allow stream viewers to click a “Buy Now” button at the bottom of the stream page to purchase the game they are viewing. Sales go through Twitch parent company Amazon, and while games will be available worldwide, only U.S. dollars will be supported as payment currency at launch. (Kotaku)
