Unreasonable at sea is already starting to get noticed around the world!

Last time on The Unreasonables, we met Shivani Siroya, the CEO of InVenture, a company that provides microfinance to the smallest of businesses in the developing world. In this video, watch as Siroya attends the Unreasonable Institute, where InVenture gets put through the ringer by successful social entrepreneurs and investors, including Co.Exist contributor Jigar Shah.

The questions Siroya faces force her to be willing to let InVenture adapt and change in response to her time at the Institute, but also leave her venture stronger than when she began. As she says: “If you can let people in on the fact that you’re really learning as you go, you’re almost shown as a better entrepreneur. You’re showing someone that you’re a nimble organization that’s going to be flexible and adjustable to any challenges you’re facing.”

After filming of last summer’s institute came to a halt, we were fortunate to work with Fast Company in producing a nineteen part  series with 3-5 minute episodes.

Every year, the Unreasonable Institute gathers 25 social entrepreneurs from around the world into a house in Boulder, Colorado. For six weeks, these men and women meet with mentors and work on the business plans for their ventures, which run the gamut from increasing recycling in Mexico to cleaner burning coal for African farmers.

During the last session, the participants were followed around by a camera crew, and we’ll be airing that footage here on Co.Exist. Their stories are inspiring in and of themselves, and perhaps in hearing about their struggles and successes, everyone working on a world-changing project (or thinking about starting one) can find a few lessons.

This is a short preview of the upcoming season. Each week, we’ll be focusing on one of the participants; both the story of their project and the evolutions it–and they–go through while participating at the Institute. Check back here on Tuesday, April 3, for the first installment. You’ll be able to find all the videos as they are released on theUnreasonables page.

(unreasonableatsea.com) Unreasonable at Sea is a mentor driven accelerator for tech entrepreneurs who desire to take their ventures into new international markets. We are selecting exclusively for technology based companies who are working to solve the greatest social and environmental challenges of this century. Why Unreasonable? The 100 day program will be run on a ship as it travels more than 25,000 nautical miles around the globe and ports in 14 countries.

That’s right, starting in January, the Final Hour Films crew will be on a ship for 4 months filming what we believe could be one of the most important and adventurous documentaries.  Stay tuned for more updates.
