Are you being seduced into spending more of your hard-earned money? There's an article up over at Kiplinger's site that lists seven reasons why “cash-back” credit cards are luring consumers into spending more than normal.

I have two cash-back cards, but neither are traditional credit cards. Both of these cards are tied to actual cash, so I use them to pay all my bills. Do you have a cash-back credit card? Do you spend more than your should?
Rewards Cards Seduce Consumers to Spend More is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More

If you're anything like me, you probably have a Blu-ray player (mine is a PS3) and you enjoy watching your favorite films on Blu-ray. Unfortunately, the cost of movies on Blu-ray really hasn't come down a lot over the past couple of years.

I don't know about you, but I enjoy my money and the last thing I want to do is spend $20-$30 for a Blu-ray movie no matter how much I like the film.

This issue of my personal spending series is about saving money in the movie department. Here's a really quick way to save money:
Personal Spending Series: Buying Blu-ray Movies on the Cheap is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More

There’s a temptation (read: greed) to jump into BP’s stock now that oil isn’t spewing freely into the Gulf, but that’s not a wise play.

Listen to enough financial TV or radio programs and you’re likely to hear at least a couple of “analysts” suggesting that BP is a good play. After all, it’s down tremendously off its 52-week lows and the oil spill disaster is over, right? Not so fast. Here are seven reasons why you might want to put your money elsewhere.

7 Reasons Why Buying BP Stock Now is Foolish is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More

Verizon (Symbol: VZ) is one of the companies I’m looking at for the Financial Rebel Fund. Smartphone use is growing fast in 2010 and since it’s still a small part of the overall mobile market, there’s plenty of room for growth.

In the United States, two companies usually come to mind when thinking of mobile phone networks: Verizon and AT&T. I’ll be covering AT&T over the weekend.

Note: As of this writing I do not own stock in Verizon.

Verizon Analysis Before Q2 2010 Earnings is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More

Cool looks aside, does this stock have anything under the hood?

Despite the prospectus discussing possible sales growth, there’s more competition on the horizon. TSLA reached a high of $30.42 per share on June 30 and closed trading on Friday, July 9, 2010 at $17.40.

Tesla Motors—Stock Power Outage? is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More

Perhaps it’s the fact that CNN.com and other networks are not currently covering the BP situation as much or that hope springs eternal in the back half of 2010, but investors appear to be getting bullish on BP (Symbol: BP).
Are Investors Getting Bullish on BP? is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More

It’s the beginning of the month and I’ve got a few investing ideas for the Financial Rebel Fund in July. While I’m looking into a few possible sectors, the common theme between all the possibilities is dividends.

The fund isn’t a flash in the pan or a short-term investment. It’s something that will grow over years. I want to start it out right, which means investing in some blue chip stock(s) with healthy dividends.

Financial Rebel Fund Update July 6, 2010 is a post from: Financial Rebel - Financial Investing : Stocks, Currency Trading, Real Estate Investing and More
