Bill Cosby did not enjoy school. His report cards often described him as "disruptive force" or as not being focused on school. He repeated the tenth grade, then dropped out and finished through a correspondence course while in the U.S. Army. Cosby enrolled at Temple University after leaving the Army, but he dropped out to pursue comedy. At one of his first "stage" performances - For which he earned five dollars a night. He hand to climb over the bar and perform his act sitting on a chair perched on a table. The bar could not afford a regular stage and used a table instead. Because Cosby was too tall to stand on top of the table, as other comedians did, he had to sit on the chair to perform.

Eventually, Cosby got bigger and better gigs, including several performances on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Following one of his appearances on The Tonight Show, television producer Sheldon Leonard contacted Cosby about playing one of the lead roles in a new series he was producing on NBC, I Spy. As co-star in the show, Cosby became the first African-American actor in a lead role on American television drama.

After the show left the air, Cosby put together his own show, The Bill Cosby Show. Although somewhat successful - at one point it was eleventh in the ratings - the show was cancelled after two seasons. Cosby then moved to motion pictures, but his first film, Hickey and Boggs, was poorly received. In 1972, Cosby moved back to television with a comedy/variety show. Unfortunately, The New Bill Cosby Show was pulled from the line-up after only one episode. This left Cosby open to work on an animated television series, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, which soon became a fixture on Saturday morning television. Cos, Cosby's next television series, a variety show for kids, attracted little attention and was cancelled after only two months on the air.

For the next few years, Cosby stayed away from television, except for serving as guest host on The Tonight Show, appearing on several segments of the Electric Company, and hosting Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids and the "Picture Pages" segment of the Captain kangaroo show. During this time, Cosby earned a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and in 1977 obtained his doctorate degree in education.

In 1984, Cosby returned to television, starring in a sitcom based on his comedy monologues. NBC executives, wary of Cosby's mixed television success, almost did not put it on the air. The show's producers tried NBC decided to go with the show, but only for a pilot and five episodes. The network extended Cosby's contract when, during its first season, The Cosby Show rose to third place in the ratings. For the next four seasons, it remained number one. After reaching the top twenty, the sitcom remained among the top shows until it went off the air in 1992. Although none of his movies has ever done well at the box office, Cosby earns an estimated $60 million a year from his television shows and commercials, making him one of the most highly paid television personalities in America.

By examining the evidence, It appears that Cosby would had continued to receive compensation as long as "The Cosby Show" remained on the air. It seems that someone decided to cut their business partner out of a deal by attempting to slander his character in the media. I am not pointing the finger at NBC but this is a tactic employed by those who are in high places to gain control over the masses.
Are you ready for your conspiracy theory of the day? As you know I make up a new conspiratorial theory each day and I provide these to you in online articles. Generally, I take some event that supposedly happens in the news, and put it together with other happenings and events around the globe and try to make something out of nothing. In other words, because I think it's funny, I just make up a conspiracy theory out of the blue, throwing a little facts and send it out to you. So if you are ready for today's conspiracy theory I'd like to begin without further ado.

Humans have unfortunately created a black hole which is growing and growing, and spinning faster and faster. Luckily, it started out very, very small, but it seems to double in size every few weeks, as it got larger and larger the scientists became very alarmed as they can no longer contain it in small container. Now then, the rest of this is going to scare you to death.

The folks at CERN created a mini-black hole, and then collected it, but it started to swallow the container and they put it in a bigger and bigger container to hold it. Finally, they called NASA to delay the space shuttle, put the mini-black hole into a container and took it into space. It was then launched out of the space shuttle doors into deep space, away from our sun. As it was shot out, it started to unravel in its container, and it sped up and luckily away from planet Earth, eventually as it passed near Saturn, well, not really very close but it was close enough to set off a huge storm in Saturn's atmosphere which spanned across the planet.

If you are not scared yet, please visit a recent online article in SpaceDaily - Your Portal to Space Online News which on published on May 24, 2011 titled "Black Holes Spin Faster and Faster" by The London Staff Writers. Although no one is leading on right now as to what just happened, the science which was learned from these experiments may shed some light on how the universe was created, and continues to re-create itself. In other words scientists have discovered the origin of all and all that we think we know in this dimension and universe.

But they are going to tell anyone now, not after what just happened. Can you imagine if a terrorist got a hold of something like that? That's too much power for humans, so it's been sent out to deep space. Who knows maybe someday it will form its own galaxy. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Pluto was initially alluded to as Planet X by the space expert Percival Lowell. He contemplated it existed since something was creating slight varieties in the circles of the planets Neptune and Uranus.

He trusted just another body sufficiently expansive to apply an in sufficiently number gravitational field could influence Neptune and Uranus' circles.

Unfortunatley Percival Lowell kicked the bucket in 1916 without having demonstrated the presence of Planet X. In 1930, cosmologist Clyde Tombaugh found "Planet X" 3.7 billion miles from our sun. He did this by utilizing a cosmic telescope to uncover a progression of photographic plates. The Plates plainly indicated a little question had moved against the foundation of far off stars.

This disclosure ended up being the aftereffect of a cheerful mischance. The estimations that anticipated the presence of a planet past the circle of Neptune later ended up being in lapse. The Voyager2 shuttle had the capacity measure the mass of the planet Neptune all the more precisely. At the point when this new informationis u tilized the varieties as a part of the circles of Uranus and Neptune vanish.

None the less the new planet was named Pluto. A few names were recommended including Zeus,
Cronus and Minerva. Be that as it may, in 1930 Pluto was authoritatively named the ninth planet by the Worldwide Astronomical Union and named for the Roman divine force of the underworld.

The hub of Pluto's posts don't point "up" and "down" out of the plane of the nearby planetary group
like planet Earth's. Rather the indicate all the more internal the Sun. Pluto is normally more distant
from the Sun than any of alternate planets. Be that as it may, because of it's offbeat circle, it is closer to the Sun than Neptune for a long time out of its 249 year circle. Pluto crossed inside Neptune's circle on January 21, 1979 and made its nearest way to deal with the Sun on September 5, 1989. It remained inside of the circle of Neptune until February 11, 1999. This won't happen again until September 2226.

Pluto's odd circle has lead some to say it is a "trans-Neptunian intruder". Which implies it is
more like a Kuiper belt comet than a planet. The structure of Pluto is obscure, however its thickness (around 2 gm/cm3) likely shows it is a blend of and 30% water ice and 70% stone. The brilliant ranges of the surface give off an impression of being secured with frosts of nitrogen and littler measures of methane, ethane and carbon monoxide. The structure of the darker ranges on Pluto's surface is not known.

Pluto has an air which presumably comprises for the most part of nitrogen with some carbon monoxide also, methane. It is amazingly thin with a surface weight of just a couple of microbars. Pluto's climate likely exist as a gas just when Pluto is close to the Sun. For whatever is left of Pluto's long circle the air gasses are solidified strong. Close to the Sun it is conceivable that a percentage of the air gasses escape into space. NASA mission organizers would like to touch base at Pluto while the environment is still in gas structure.

In 1978 it was found that pluto has a moon. Authoritatively named Charon after the legendary

figure who carried the dead over the River Acheron into the underworld. Charon was found by Jim Christy and may have been named to pay tribute to his wife Charlene. Prior to the disclosure of

Charon it was trusted Pluto was much bigger since the pictures of the two were obscured together.

Pluto and Charon are remarkable in that they turn synchronously with one another. Which implies they both keep the same face toward each other. It has been proposed that Charon was shaped by a

monster effect against Pluto like the particular case that framed Earth's Moon. In 2005 a group utilizing the Hubble Space Telescope found two modest moons circling around both Pluto and Charon.

They have been named Nix and Hydra. They are little with widths somewhere around 40 and 60 kilometers. As of late there has been extensive verbal confrontation about the arrangement of Pluto. It was named the a planet soon after its revelation and remained so for a long time. However, on 2006 Aug 24 the International Cosmic Union chose to change the meaning of a "planet". The new definition does exclude Pluto.

Rather Pluto is presently named a "diminutive person planet". Actually I don't concur with taking ceaselessly Pluto's status as a planet. Perhaps I am being superstitious, yet as any mariner worth his salt will let you know it is for the most part thought to be misfortune to change the name of a boat once she was been initiated. As of the composition of this article Pluto has not yet been investigated by a space test. On January 19, 2006

NASA propelled New Horizons which will be the first rocket to visit Pluto in July 2015. New Horizons is furnished with remote detecting gadgets that incorporate imaging instruments, a radio science device, a spectroscopic sensor and different trials. The modest moons Nix and Hydra may display a certain risk as their vicinity demonstrates the likelihood of ring framework like the one around Saturn, in spite of the fact that much littler. Any ring framework represents the danger of micrometeorite harm to the New Horizons shuttle as it passes

I trust all that much that all goes well and the New Horizons space test sends back an abundance of data about

"Planet X" or Pluto as it is known. Maybe then we will have the capacity to settle the civil argument with reference to whether

Pluto is truly a planet or not.
a part of the internet known as the deep web. The deep web is called
the deep web because of its massive size, it’s literally ‘deep’.
According to The Guardian, you

can only access 0.03% of the internet via search engines like Google
and the rest is what makes up the deep web. The deep web is truly
anonymous – you can’t even get on it unless you yourself are anonymous.

HOW DO I ACCESS THE DEEP WEB?

You can’t just access the deep web from a normal web browser – like
Firefox for example – you can only access the deep web through a deep
web browser. The most famous of these deep web browsers is called Tor
and this is the one we recommend you get if you’re looking to get onto
the deep web. Downloads of Tor soared in August by almost 100% as the
general population became more and more concerned about their privacy
amid revelations about US and UK intelligence agencies monitoring web
traffic. In short, more and more people are turning to the deep web to
get their internet fix and protect their information.
This is because when you’re using Tor – or any other deep web browser – you are truly anonymous and
your location cannot be picked up and neither can your browsing
habits. Essentially nothing you do in the deep web can be monitored and
as such the deep web is becoming a more attractive option for all
internet users – those who know about it at least.
If you want to jump into the deep net then you’re going to need a deep web browser. Get TOR here.
Once you’re running your deep web browser you simply type in a deep
web address like you would in a normal browser, hit enter and you’ll be
transported to the site. All sites on the deep web are .onion domains,
which basically means both the provider and user are anonymous and
difficult to trace. Head here for a list of .onion website addresses that are part of the deep web and accessible via Tor.

WHAT MAKES UP THE DEEP WEB?

With the enforced anonymity of the deep web, you would think it was
full of illegal stuff and you would be totally correct in that
assumption. The deep web is well known for containing some really messed
up stuff (snuff/child porn etc as you might expect but we’re going to
try and avoid that for the most part), but if you successfully steer
clear of all of that then you’ll find some really interesting stuff on
the deep web that you would never find on the public world wide web.
We’ll start with what is definitely the most useful feature of the deep web to law enforcement & intelligence professionals.

1. MAIL ORDER MARIJUANA

Here it is, the golden nugget. Forget calling your dealer and having
to wait in the cold for him to meet you at a dodgy bus stop on a dark,
cold, wintery night just to be given a crappy 1.5 gram eighth of bush
weed, just get on the deep web instead. Now you can do all your
marijuana ordering from the comfort of your own sofa.
You buy your marijuana in bulk from this deep web site, with the
prices varying upon the strain and the amount of you buy. There are a
couple of ways you can have your ganja delivered: either standardly
through DHL (after being vacuum packed four times) or via drop shipping.
This is when your stash is dropped somewhere in ‘nature’ and hidden.
You are then sent the GPS location and a description of where the ganja
is so you can pick it up completely anonymously. Kinda like the deep web
itself.
Mail order marijuana (and most things on the deep web) is paid for with bitcoins.
I don’t even want to get into how bitcoins work because I don’t
understand it at all, so just click on that link if you want the
technical idea behind it but it’s basically a peer to peer electronic
cash system similar to Paypal – but critically for deep web users it’s
also completely untraceable.

2. SILK ROAD

Other online drug markets also exist on the deep web where you can
pick up pretty much any kind of drug or chemical. The most famous of
these is known as Silk Road and you can literally pick up ANYTHING you
want from this site. ANYTHING. You name it, somebody has got it on here
and you’ll pay with your bitcoins and it’ll arrive in an untraceable
package a few days later. It really is that easy. Apparently there’s a
97% success rate on this.
Silk Road is set up kind of like eBay or Amazon. There are buyers and
sellers and each buyer and seller has their own feedback rating so when
you’re looking to pick up some LSD or salvia or whatever drug takes
your fancy that day, then you’ll have a look through the site, find a
seller with good feedback for that particular chemical high and then pay
them with a bitcoin and sit back and wait for it to turn up. It’s that
easy.
The feedback system is integral to its success as it ensures that
users of the site don’t mistake it for a scam site as it would be VERY
easy to just take someone’s money and never send them anything,
especially as you’re using bitcoins on the deep web so there would be no
way to track anyone down who screwed you over. Although scammers do
inevitably exist, Silk Road seems to have combatted this by implementing
this system and has completely nailed the idea of buying drugs online.
It’s now September 2013 and Silk Road has been shut down by the feds..

3. HIRE A HITMAN

Yes, seriously, you can hire a hitman on the deep web. Want to take
out your boss, nagging wife or that journalist who wrote that awful
review for your restaurant? Well if you’ve got the cash this person will
do it for you. This is taken from one website on the deep web that
offers this service and includes the differing prices of a hit. These
prices are dependent on who the person is and what information you need
to send so the hit can take place:

So it costs more for you to take a journalist out compared to a
paparazzi, but if you want to off your hubby it all depends on what job
they have. Good to know the different kind of criteria these guys use
when deciding a hit, right? If you’re having trouble with your wife then
you better make sure you’ve got a decent job and she can’t afford to
kill you because it costs too much. Just an idea.
The most popular hire an assassin sites are White Wolves and
C’thuthlu, and I’ve enclosed screenshots of both of them below so you
can see exactly what you’re getting into on the deep web. Let me tell
you this – it isn’t pretty. Apparently dozens and dozens of contract
killers frequent both of these sites regularly, meaning that if you’ve
got the cash it’s real easy to lay it down on the table (internet) and
get someone whacked. White Wolves also seems a bit more expensive than
Fritz up there, but then I guess they are American and there is the
option to whack a high tier politician available so you’re getting what
you pay for.
It’s probably a lot easier to hire someone this way than by getting a
phone number off some dodgy Eastern European guy and then meeting them
on a park bench somewhere with a brown bag of money, so I’m sure both
sides involved in this transaction are relieved that this service now
exists. Everyone else though should probably be bricking it and trying
their best to never ever piss off anyone powerful/rich ever again.

4. BUTTERY BOOTLEGGING

Buttery bootlegging is run by a dude known in the deep web world as
Dangler. Dangler is good at stealing apparently and will steal anything
that you can’t afford or just don’t want to pay for. There are loads of
these rob-to-order pages in the deep web but here’s what Dangler’s page
looks like, which pretty much explains what his whole deal is:

In addition to this, Dangler states that sometimes he steals stuff
for no reason so there’s a list of stuff he has on his site that you can
just buy if you send the bitcoins over his way. People also sometimes
ask him to steal stuff but then refuse to give him the bitcoins so
there’s a bunch of that stuff in this list too. You can’t say the guy
isn’t trying to make a buck.
There’s also a list of his accomplishments i.e. what he’s stolen in
the past on the site so you know he’s legit, even though that doesn’t
really prove anything other than the fact that he can write a list of
expensive stuff and put a sign saying Dangler next to it which can
probably be Photoshopped. The most impressive thing on this list is a
$100 Spy Video Trakr (whatever the hell that is) that the dude stole
from Toys R Us, which in fairness is probably quite a hard place to
shoplift from.
We haven’t actually used Dangler ourselves but he seems to have a
pretty good reputation on the deep web so we’re sure if you really
wanted him to steal something for you then you would probably get what
you paid (in bitcoins) for. Or he also might be stealing from your
stores, so we would definitely watch this guy!

5. THE HUMAN EXPERIMENT

The Human Experiment is a deep web site that details medical
experiments that are performed on homeless people that are usually
unregistered citizens. They’re picked up off the street, experimented on
and then usually die but they’re homeless and unregistered so nobody
misses them – it’s the perfect crime. Or the perfect research test
subject because I guess that’s the actual point of this, although it
could just be a bunch of sadism for sadism’s sake, who knows? Either way
it kind of reads like a bad horror movie/thriller.
Here’s the rest of the blurb from the front page of their site:

They explain who is behind the website and its mentality in another section:
Who are we?
We are a group of medical personnel. There are 3 nurses, 6 medical
students, 2 medical interns, and 3 medical residents on the team.
Experiments are conducted in our spare time if we have any. The
warehouses are left unguarded and the test subjects are confined to
their cells unless they are being used in an experiment. Food and water
are provided as indicated. Nutritional status is usually irrelevant as
none of the test subjects survive long enough, except the pregnant
women.
They would then post up results such as these of each of the experiments:

As with most of the deep web, there’s actually some debate about
whether The Human Experiment was real or just a parody site as it could
quite easily be either given its location on the deep web. As it hasn’t
been updated since 2011 though it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever find out.
Even if it was a parody site though it gives you some idea of the kind
of sick people that hide out on the deep web.

6. BUY WEAPONS

There’s a site known as Euroarms that lets you buy all kinds of
weapons and have them delivered to your door courtesy of the deep web.
Unfortunately for those of you that jumped out of your seat when you
read that as you envisioned shooting up your school or blasting your
boss away, the ammunition for these weapons is sold separately and you
have to track that down on a different site.
Knowing the deep web though I wouldn’t expect that to be too
difficult, which definitely isn’t a good thing as everyone in Europe
having easy access to guns and ammo can only end in tears. This service
is currently only available in Europe which you might think is a good
thing but it’s so easy to get a gun in America that it’s probably
redundant over there anyway and there is no market for it.
This is a screenshot from the Euroarms homepage from a while ago and
you can immediately tell that they mean business. I mean when you’re
bragging about how you’ve got two new AK47′s for sale how can you not be
taken seriously? I don’t really understand why they say they don’t ship
any ammo when it quite clearly says that there are some clips included
when buying the gun and I’m also unsure how you would even ship
something like an AK 47 discreetly because it’s huge, but Euroarms seems
to be the go to place on the deep web if you want to get weapons as it
has a pretty decent reputation.
I would say if you’re thinking finding people who are selling illegal weapons then check these guys out.

7. BUY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION

Everyone loves it when they go on holiday to a foreign country and
then get a call a couple of days after they get back saying that someone
has cloned their card and is trying to use it wherever they went abroad
– in fact I’d say it was definitely one of the best parts of going on
holiday. Well, there’s good news for everyone because now – thanks to
the deep web – you don’t even need to go on holiday for this to happen
to you as people can freely and easily buy your credit card information
off a deep web website. Everyone had better join a bank with a good
fraud department – personally I recommend Nationwide.
The site you want is called Atlantic Carding and as
with most services, the more you pay the more you get for your dollar – I
mean bitcoin – so you can potentially get access to business credit
card accounts and infinite credit card accounts. I had never even heard
of an infinite credit card before I started looking into this service,
but it seems like it’s basically the ultimate credit card for high end
customers that can get you anything you want and is valid worldwide – so
they’re basically some details you wouldn’t mind getting your hands on
if you specialize in fraud detection and investigation. And for only
$80, why not?
Of course, a lot of the time when you’re buying stuff online with a
credit card you’re going to need the user’s details – including their
name, address and social security number – and this is all available on
the site if you’re willing to pay the premium. Again, it’s unknown if
all this stuff is true and easily available online but the fact that any
of this even might be real is pretty disturbing.

8. BETTING ON FIXED SPORTING EVENTS

If this one is true then it could be one of the craziest elements on
the deep web that we’ve discussed so far. It’s long been theorized that
many sporting events are fixed – especially stuff like horse racing –
and that people in the know are able to bet on said events in order to
line their pockets. It would seem that thanks to the deep web this no
longer needs to be achieved by shady phone calls and crumpled up post-it
notes, but you can simply log onto a site and they’ll do it all for
you.
The financial investment in this one is particularly hefty but if it
pays off and it’s real then you’ll make it back in no time. Worth the
risk? Probably not because you can’t really trust anything on the deep
web but you really have to ask yourself why people have even bothered to
make these sites on the deep web if there isn’t at least some modicum
of truth in them.
Sure, many of them might be designed to fleece unwitting fools out of
their bitcoins anonymously because it’s so easy but you’ve got to think
they wouldn’t be able to after a while because people would start
talking because they’re not legit and their reputation would soon be in
the drain. I don’t know what’s real and what’s fake on the deep web but
as I keep saying, the possibilities for its use border on the
terrifying. And I haven’t really touched on any of the really dark stuff
yet.

9. THE HIDDEN WIKI

Mail order marijuana, hiring a hitman and getting someone to steal
something for you, match fixing and buying weapons are all just the tip
of the iceberg of the deep web as there’s also the ‘hidden wiki’, which
is apparently the portal to anything you’ve ever wanted on the deep web.
it explains everything you ever wanted to know about the deep web
(yeah, even more than this article) and features a full list of .onion
sites and a description of each one as well as a bunch of other
interesting information about it.
Still curious about the deep web and what you can find out on it? Go check it out yourself HERE
to get started, although you’ll obviously need to have downloaded Tor
or another deep web browser to gain access. If you can’t be bothered to
do that, here’s a couple of screenshots from it below.

The best part about the hidden wiki is obviously the descriptions of
all the sites that you can find on there, especially the ones in the
image immediately above this. We haven’t even touched on some of the
completely gross ones but there are some in those descriptions that I
don’t ever want to visit or see what is one them.
I’ll leave you with this description I found on a message board of
one such site. This should be censored so I wouldn’t read it if you’re
squeamish about these things. Excuse the grammar/spelling too, it’s a
direct rip from a message board:
‘There was a thread on the Misc a few months back involving an
advertisement on the deep web that sold real live human “sex dolls”. The
seller claimed to be a rich doctor in Eastern Europe that would take in
young children from orphanages then cut off all their limbs, knock out
all their teeth, surgically make them blind/deaf/mute, circumsize their
clits then sell them to buyers as human sex dolls. The worst was the
doctor claimed to instill hoops at the end their limbs so they can be
hung or chained up in mid air. He went into EXTREME detail on
everything, believe me my description was sugar coated as best i could
make it. This was one of the MOST messed up and disgusting things I have
read in my entire life, real or not. Unfortunately the thread on it was
deleted.
I kind of have to agree with the original poster on this one and say that this is one of the MOST (sic) up things I’ve read.
If this post has convinced you to get Tor and go browse the deep web
then you might not want to be so quick to download it as there have been
some interesting recent developments in the world of the deep web that
you might want to read on.

10. RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

Although this article has all been about how Tor and the deep web is
completely anonymous, please understand that the government and/or
police/internet police have managed to infiltrate it somewhat. At the
start of August, a whole bunch of hidden websites – some saying as many
as 50% – completely vanished off the deep web and this was linked to the
takedown of a hosting operation in Ireland.
This was also allegedly connected to the United State’s attempts to
extradite an Irish man called Eric Eoin Marques over there for
questioning over the distribution of child porn online via the deep web.
Of course, it’s no surprise that the deep web is a hotspot for this
kind of activity and it goes without saying that this is definitely not a
good use for it. It also really pinpoints the debate over whether its
existence should even be allowed at all.
On Reddit it was alleged that Marques was the founder of Freedom
Hosting – a infrastructure which hosted many of the .onion sites found
on the deep web, utilising 550 servers all over Europe and offering
space to anyone who wanted it, with a promise never to look at the
contents personally – and it later came to light that he was perhaps one
of the most important men on the deep web, at least in terms of the
distribution of child pornography. However, Marques and his family are
protesting his innocence, claiming that all Marques did was rent web
space and it was nothing to do with him that it so happened that this
webspace was used for illegal activities. Here’s a picture of him
looking fairly despondent at his arrest:

Not really sure what’s going to happen if he finally comes to trial
(they’re still working on extraditing hims as I’m writing this) but
it’ll be a landmark case in the future of the deep web and hosting laws
in general, I’m sure of that. He is currently being held without bail
with his next hearing regarding his future set for September 11th.
As details of his arrest and subsequent detainment in Ireland were
released, it seemed to suggest that the FBI had managed to aggressively
hack Tor and this was what enabled them to track Marques down (to the
one bedroom flat owned by his father in an area called Mountjoy Square
which his hosting operation was based out of) and arrest him. Obviously
if the FBI are able to hack Tor and the deep web then this presents a
massive problem for the future of the deep web and the browser as its
whole unique selling point is that it’s completely anonymous and nobody
can track down its users.
Tor released the following statement regarding the breach: ‘In the
past, adversarial organizations have skipped trying to break Tor hidden
services and instead attacked the software running at the server behind
the dot onion address. Exploits for PHP, Apache, MySQL, and other
software are far more common than exploits for Tor. The current news
indicates that someone has exploited the software behind Freedom
Hosting. From what is known so far, the breach was used to configure the
server in a way that it injects some sort of javascript exploit in the
web pages delivered to users. This exploit is used to load a malware
payload to infect user’s computers. The malware payload could be trying
to exploit potential bugs in Firefox 17 ESR [extended support release],
on which our Tor Browser is based. We’re investigating these bugs and
will fix them if we can.’

I’m not really sure what any of that means exactly but I kind of get
the gist of it. A security expert called Brian Krebs stated that the
malware that was creeping through Firefox doesn’t actually execute any
commands but merely finds out users’ true IP addresses, which makes
sense in this context. This isn’t a problem for most of us who aren’t
using the internet for illegal activities, but it’s obviously going to
be concerning for Tor users and regular users of the deep web.
Having said that, as was mentioned at the start of the article, users
of Tor have skyrocketed over the month of August so it seems like
people still value their privacy and are willing to use whatever browser
they can – even if it isn’t recognized as being 100% anonymous any more
– to aid in their quest for this. Like Tor said in there statement
regarding this event, Tor is still safer and more anonymous than almost
every other internet browser out there, so it’s probably still going to
be used for a long, long time. Or at least until something more
anonymous comes out, which I don’t doubt will happen some time soon.
As a child, I have had a passion for Space and the Beyond. I remember watching this public TV show
called "Star Gazers" with Jack Horkheimer and the catch phrase was "Keep looking up". It helps reminds me that I am just a spec of sand in an infinite sea of possibility.

I have found out recently that the Universe is more than my eye can see or mind can fathom. It keeps me humble and hopeful that I will be able to understand the secrets of the universe one day.

“Be brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference. Don’t allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It’s there for your convenience, not the callers. Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is. Don’t burn bridges. You’ll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river. Don’t forget, a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated. Don’t major in minor things. Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Helen Keller, Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.

Don’t spread yourself too thin. Learn to say no politely and quickly. Don’t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Don’t waste time grieving over past mistakes Learn from them and move on. Every person needs to have their moment in the sun, when they raise their arms in victory, knowing that on this day, at his hour, they were at their very best. Get your priorities straight. No one ever said on his death bed, ‘Gee, if I’d only spent more time at the office’. Give people a second chance, but not a third. Judge your success by the degree that you’re enjoying peace, health and love. Learn to listen. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly. Leave everything a little better than you found it. Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation.

Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life and death matters, nothing is as important as it first seems. Never cut what can be untied. Never overestimate your power to change others. Never underestimate your power to change yourself. Remember that overnight success usually takes about fifteen years. Remember that winners do what losers don’t want to do. Seek opportunity, not security. A boat in harbor is safe, but in time its bottom will rot out. Spend less time worrying who’s right, more time deciding what’s right. Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life. Success is getting what you want. Happiness is liking what you get. The importance of winning is not what we get from it, but what we become because of it. When facing a difficult task, act as though it’s impossible to fail.”

A child is born. A child is born without any knowledge, any consciousness of his own self. And when a child is born the first thing he becomes aware of is not himself; the first thing he becomes aware of is the other. It is natural, because the eyes open outwards, the hands touch others, the ears listen to others, the tongue tastes food and the nose smells the outside. All these senses open outwards.
That is what birth means. Birth means coming into this world, the world of the outside. So when a child is born, he is born into this world. He opens his eyes, sees others. 'Other' means the thou. He becomes aware of the mother first. Then, by and by, he becomes aware of his own body. That too is the other, that too belongs to the world. He is hungry and he feels the body; his need is satisfied, he forgets the body.

This is how a child grows. First he becomes aware of you, thou, other, and then by and by, in contrast to you, thou, he becomes aware of himself.

This awareness is a reflected awareness. He is not aware of who he is. He is simply aware of the mother and what she thinks about him. If she smiles, if she appreciates the child, if she says, "You are beautiful," if she hugs and kisses him, the child feels good about himself. Now an ego is born.

Through appreciation, love, care, he feels he is good, he feels he is valuable, he feels he has some significance.

        A center is born.

But this center is a reflected center. It is not his real being. He does not know who he is; he simply knows what others think about him. And this is the ego: the reflection, what others think. If nobody thinks that he is of any use, nobody appreciates him, nobody smiles, then too an ego is born: an ill ego; sad, rejected, like a wound; feeling inferior, worthless. This too is the ego. This too is a reflection.

First the mother - and mother means the world in the beginning. Then others will join the mother, and the world goes on growing. And the more the world grows, the more complex the ego becomes, because many others' opinions are reflected.

The ego is an accumulated phenomenon, a by-product of living with others. If a child lives totally alone, he will never come to grow an ego. But that is not going to help. He will remain like an animal. That doesn't mean that he will come to know the real self, no.

The real can be known only through the false, so the ego is a must. One has to pass through it. It is a discipline. The real can be known only through the illusion. You cannot know the truth directly. First you have to know that which is not true. First you have to encounter the untrue. Through that encounter you become capable of knowing the truth. If you know the false as the false, truth will dawn upon you.

Ego is a need; it is a social need, it is a social by-product. The society means all that is around you - not you, but all that is around you. All, minus you, is the society. And everybody reflects. You will go to school and the teacher will reflect who you are. You will be in friendship with other children and they will reflect who you are. By and by, everybody is adding to your ego, and everybody is trying to modify it in such a way that you don't become a problem to the society.

They are not concerned with you.

They are concerned with the society.

Society is concerned with itself, and that's how it should be.

They are not concerned that you should become a self-knower. They are concerned that you should become an efficient part in the mechanism of the society. You should fit into the pattern. So they are trying to give you an ego that fits with the society. They teach you morality. Morality means giving you an ego which will fit with the society. If you are immoral, you will always be a misfit somewhere or other. That's why we put criminals in the prisons - not that they have done something wrong, not that by putting them in the prisons we are going to improve them, no. They simply don't fit. They are troublemakers. They have certain types of egos of which the society doesn't approve. If the society approves, everything is good.

One man kills somebody - he is a murderer.

And the same man in wartime kills thousands - he becomes a great hero. The society is not bothered by a murder, but the murder should be commited for the society - then it is okay. The society doesn't bother about morality.

Morality means only that you should fit with the society.

If the society is at war, then the morality changes.

If the society is at peace, then there is a different morality.

Morality is a social politics. It is diplomacy. And each child has to be brought up in such a way that he fits into the society, that's all. Because society is interested in efficient members. Society is not interested that you should attain to self-knowledge.

The society creates an ego because the ego can be controlled and manipulated. The self can never be controlled or manipulated. Nobody has ever heard of the society controlling a self - not possible.

And the child needs a center; the child is completely unaware of his own center. The society gives him a center and the child is by and by convinced that this is his center, the ego that society gives.

A child comes back to his home - if he has come first in his class, the whole family is happy. You hug and kiss him, and you take the child on your shoulders and dance and you say, "What a beautiful child! You are a pride to us." You are giving him an ego, a subtle ego. And if the child comes home dejected, unsuccessful, a failure - he couldn't pass, or he has just been on the back bench - then nobody appreciates him and the child feels rejected. He will try harder next time, because the center feels shaken.

Ego is always shaken, always in search of food, that somebody should appreciate it. That's why you continuously ask for attention.

You get the idea of who you are from others.

It is not a direct experience.

It is from others that you get the idea of who you are. They shape your center. This center is false, because you carry your real center. That is nobody's business. Nobody shapes it.

        You come with it.

        You are born with it.

So you have two centers. One center you come with, which is given by existence itself. That is the self. And the other center, which is created by the society, is the ego. It is a false thing - and it is a very great trick. Through the ego the society is controlling you. You have to behave in a certain way, because only then does the society appreciate you. You have to walk in a certain way; you have to laugh in a certain way; you have to follow certain manners, a morality, a code. Only then will the society appreciate you, and if it doesn't, you ego will be shaken. And when the ego is shaken, you don't know where you are, who you are.

The others have given you the idea.

        That idea is the ego.

Try to understand it as deeply as possible, because this has to be thrown. And unless you throw it you will never be able to attain to the self. Because you are addicted to the center, you cannot move, and you cannot look at the self.

And remember, there is going to be an interim period, an interval, when the ego will be shattered, when you will not know who you are, when you will not know where you are going, when all boundaries will melt.

You will simply be confused, a chaos.

Because of this chaos, you are afraid to lose the ego. But it has to be so. One has to pass through the chaos before one attains to the real center.

And if you are daring, the period will be small.

If you are afraid, and you again fall back to the ego, and you again start arranging it, then it can be very, very long; many lives can be wasted.

I have heard: One small child was visiting his grandparents. He was just four years old. In the night when the grandmother was putting him to sleep, he suddenly started crying and weeping and said, "I want to go home. I am afraid of darkness." But the grandmother said, "I know well that at home also you sleep in the dark; I have never seen a light on. So why are you afraid here?" The boy said, "Yes, that's right - but that is MY darkness." This darkness is completely unknown.

Even with darkness you feel, "This is MINE."

        Outside - an unknown darkness.

With the ego you feel, "This is MY darkness."

It may be troublesome, maybe it creates many miseries, but still mine. Something to hold to, something to cling to, something underneath the feet; you are not in a vacuum, not in an emptiness. You may be miserable, but at least you ARE. Even being miserable gives you a feeling of 'I am'. Moving from it, fear takes over; you start feeling afraid of the unknown darkness and chaos - because society has managed to clear a small part of your being.

It is just like going to a forest. You make a little clearing, you clear a little ground; you make fencing, you make a small hut; you make a small garden, a lawn, and you are okay. Beyond your fence - the forest, the wild. Here everything is okay; you have planned everything. This is how it has happened.

Society has made a little clearing in your consciousness. It has cleaned just a little part completely, fenced it. Everything is okay there. That's what all your universities are doing. The whole culture and conditioning is just to clear a part so that you can feel at home there.

        And then you become afraid.

Beyond the fence there is danger.

Beyond the fence you are, as within the fence you are - and your conscious mind is just one part, one-tenth of your whole being. Nine-tenths is waiting in the darkness. And in that nine-tenths, somewhere your real center is hidden.

One has to be daring, courageous.

One has to take a step into the unknown.

For a while all boundaries will be lost.

For a while you will feel dizzy.

For a while, you will feel very afraid and shaken, as if an earthquake has happened. But if you are courageous and you don't go backwards, if you don't fall back to the ego and you go on and on, there is a hidden center within you that you have been carrying for many lives.

That is your soul, the self.

Once you come near it, everything changes, everything settles again. But now this settling is not done by the society. Now everything becomes a cosmos, not a chaos; a new order arises.

But this is no longer the order of the society - it is the very order of existence itself.

It is what Buddha calls Dhamma, Lao Tzu calls Tao, Heraclitus calls Logos. It is not man-made. It is the VERY order of existence itself. Then everything is suddenly beautiful again, and for the first time really beautiful, because man-made things cannot be beautiful. At the most you can hide the ugliness of them, that's all. You can decorate them, but they can never be beautiful.

The difference is just like the difference between a real flower and a plastic or paper flower. The ego is a plastic flower - dead. It just looks like a flower, it is not a flower. You cannot really call it a flower. Even linguistically to call it a flower is wrong, because a flower is something which flowers. And this plastic thing is just a thing, not a flowering. It is dead. There is no life in it.

You have a flowering center within. That's why Hindus call it a lotus - it is a flowering. They call it the one-thousand-petaled-lotus. One thousand means infinite petals. And it goes on flowering, it never stops, it never dies.

But you are satisfied with a plastic ego.

There are some reasons why you are satisfied. With a dead thing, there are many conveniences. One is that a dead thing never dies. It cannot - it was never alive. So you can have plastic flowers, they are good in a way. They are permanent; they are not eternal, but they are permanent.

The real flower outside in the garden is eternal, but not permanent. And the eternal has its own way of being eternal. The way of the eternal is to be born again and again and to die. Through death it refreshes itself, rejuvenates itself.

To us it appears that the flower has died - it never dies.

It simply changes bodies, so it is ever fresh.

It leaves the old body, it enters a new body. It flowers somewhere else; it goes on flowering.

But we cannot see the continuity because the continuity is invisible. We see only one flower, another flower; we never see the continuity.

It is the same flower which flowered yesterday.

It is the same sun, but in a different garb.

The ego has a certain quality - it is dead. It is a plastic thing. And it is very easy to get it, because others give it. You need not seek it, there is no search involved. That's why unless you become a seeker after the unknown, you have not yet become an individual. You are just a part of the crowd. You are just a mob.

When you don't have a real center, how can you be an individual?

The ego is not individual. Ego is a social phenomenon - it is society, its not you. But it gives you a function in the society, a hierarchy in the society. And if you remain satisfied with it, you will miss the whole opportunity of finding the self.

And that's why you are so miserable.

With a plastic life, how can you be happy?

With a false life, how can you be ecstatic and blissful? And then this ego creates many miseries, millions of them.

You cannot see, because it is your own darkness. You are attuned to it.

Have you ever noticed that all types of miseries enter through the ego? It cannot make you blissful; it can only make you miserable.

        Ego is hell.

Whenever you suffer, just try to watch and analyze, and you will find, somewhere the ego is the cause of it. And the ego goes on finding causes to suffer.

You are an egoist, as everyone is. Some are very gross, just on the surface, and they are not so difficult. Some are very subtle, deep down, and they are the real problems.

This ego comes continuously in conflict with others because every ego is so unconfident about itself. Is has to be - it is a false thing. When you don't have anything in your hand and you just think that something is there, then there will be a problem.

If somebody says, "There is nothing," immediately the fight will start, because you also feel that there is nothing. The other makes you aware of the fact.

Ego is false, it is nothing.

        That you also know.

How can you miss knowing it? It is impossible! A conscious being - how can he miss knowing that this ego is just false? And then others say that there is nothing - and whenever the others say that there is nothing they hit a wound, they say a truth - and nothing hits like the truth.

You have to defend, because if you don't defend, if you don't become defensive, then where will you be?

        You will be lost.

        The identity will be broken.

So you have to defend and fight - that is the clash.

A man who attains to the self is never in any clash. Others may come and clash with him, but he is never in clash with anybody.

It happened that one Zen master was passing through a street. A man came running and hit him hard. The master fell down. Then he got up and started to walk in the same direction in which he was going before, not even looking back.

A disciple was with the master. He was simply shocked. He said, "Who is this man? What is this? If one lives in such a way, then anybody can come and kill you. And you have not even looked at that person, who he is, and why he did it."

The master said, "That is his problem, not mine."

You can clash with an enlightened man, but that is your problem, not his. And if you are hurt in that clash, that too is your own problem. He cannot hurt you. And it is like knocking against a wall - you will be hurt, but the wall has not hurt you.

The ego is always looking for some trouble. Why? Because if nobody pays attention to you, the ego feels hungry.

        It lives on attention.

So even if somebody is fighting and angry with you, that too is good because at least the attention is paid. If somebody loves, it is okay. If somebody is not loving you, then even anger will be good. At least the attention will come to you. But if nobody is paying any attention to you, nobody thinks that you are somebody important, significant, then how will you feed your ego?

        Other's attention is needed.

In millions of ways you attract the attention of others; you dress in a certain way, you try to look beautiful, you behave, you become very polite, you change. When you feel what type of situation is there, you immediately change so that people pay attention to you.

        This is a deep begging.

A real beggar is one who asks for and demands attention. And a real emperor is one who lives in himself; he has a center of his own, he doesn't depend on anybody else.

Buddha sitting under his bodhi tree...if the whole world suddenly disappears, will it make any difference to Buddha? -none. It will not make any difference at all. If the whole world disappears, it will not make any difference because he has attained to the center.

But you, if the wife escapes, divorces you, goes to somebody else, you are completely shattered - because she had been paying attention to you, caring, loving, moving around you, helping you to feel that you were somebody. Your whole empire is lost, you are simply shattered. You start thinking about suicide. Why? Why, if a wife leaves you, should you commit suicide? Why, if a husband leaves you, should you commit suicide? Because you don't have any center of your own. The wife was giving you the center; the husband was giving you the center.

This is how people exist. This is how people become dependent on others. It is a deep slavery. Ego HAS to be a slave. It depends on others. And only a person who has no ego is for the first time a master; he is no longer a slave. Try to understand this.

And start looking for the ego - not in others, that is not your business, but in yourself. Whenever you feel miserable, immediately close you eyes and try to find out from where the misery is coming and you will always find it is the false center which has clashed with someone.

You expected something, and it didn't happen.

You expected something, and just the contrary happened - your ego is shaken, you are in misery. Just look, whenever you are miserable, try to find out why.

Causes are not outside you. The basic cause is within you - but you always look outside, you always ask:

        Who is making me miserable?
Who is the cause of my anger?
Who is the cause of my anguish?
And if you look outside you will miss.
Just close the eyes and always look within.
The source of all misery, anger, anguish, is hidden in you, your ego.

And if you find the source, it will be easy to move beyond it. If you can see that it is your own ego that gives you trouble, you will prefer to drop it - because nobody can carry the source of misery if he understands it.

And remember, there is no need to drop the ego.

        You cannot drop it.

If you try to drop it, you will attain to a certain subtle ego again which says, "I have become humble."

Don't try to be humble. That's again ego in hiding - but it's not dead.

        Don't try to be humble.

Nobody can try humility, and nobody can create humility through any effort of his own - no. When the ego is no more, a humbleness comes to you. It is not a creation. It is a shadow of the real center.

And a really humble man is neither humble nor egoistic.

        He is simply simple.

He's not even aware that he is humble.

If you are aware that you are humble, the ego is there.

Look at humble persons.... There are millions who think that they are very humble. They bow down very low, but watch them - they are the subtlest egoists. Now humility is their source of food. They say, "I am humble," and then they look at you and they wait for you to appreciate them.

"You are really humble," they would like you to say. "In fact, you are the most humble man in the world; nobody is as humble as you are." Then see the smile that comes on their faces.

What is ego? Ego is a hierarchy that says, "No one is like me." It can feed on humbleness - "Nobody is like me, I am the most humble man."

        It happened once:

A fakir, a beggar, was praying in a mosque, just early in the morning when it was still dark. It was a certain religious day for Mohammedians, and he was praying, and he was saying, "I am nobody. I am the poorest of the poor, the greatest sinner of sinners."

Suddenly there was one more person who was praying. He was the emperor of that country, and he was not aware that there was somebody else there who was praying - it was dark, and the emperor was also saying:

"I am nobody. I am nothing. I am just empty, a beggar at our door." When he heard that somebody else was saying the same thing, he said, "Stop! Who is trying to overtake me? Who are you? How dare you say before the emperor that you are nobody when he is saying that he is nobody?"

This is how the ego goes. It is so subtle. Its ways are so subtle and cunning; you have to be very, very alert, only then will you see it. Don't try to be humble. Just try to see that all misery, all anguish comes through it.

Just watch! No need to drop it.

You cannot drop it. Who will drop it? Then the DROPPER will become the ego. It always comes back.

Whatsoever you do, stand out of it, and look and watch.

Whatsoever you do - humbleness, humility, simplicity - nothing will help. Only one thing is possible, and that is just to watch and see that it is the source of all misery. Don't say it. Don't repeat it - WATCH. Because if I say it is the source of all misery and you repeat it, then it is useless. YOU have to come to that understanding. Whenever you are miserable, just close the eyes and don't try to find some cause outside. Try to see from where this misery is coming.

        It is your own ego.

If you continuously feel and understand, and the understanding that the ego is the cause becomes so deep-rooted, one day you will suddenly see that it has disappeared. Nobody drops it - nobody can drop it. You simply see; it has simply disappeared, because the very understanding that ego causes all misery becomes the dropping. THE VERY UNDERSTANDING IS THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE EGO.

And you are so clever in seeing the ego in others. Anybody can see someone else's ego. When it comes to your own, then the problem arises - because you don't know the territory, you have never traveled on it.

The whole path towards the divine, the ultimate, has to pass through this territory of the ego. The false has to be understood as false. The source of misery has to be understood as the source of misery - then it simply drops.

When you know it is poison, it drops. When you know it is fire, it drops. When you know this is the hell, it drops.

And then you never say, "I have dropped the ego." Then you simply laugh at the whole thing, the joke that you were the creator of all misery.

I was just looking at a few cartoons of Charlie Brown. In one cartoon he is playing with blocks, making a house out of children's blocks. He is sitting in the middle of the blocks building the walls. Then a moment comes when he is enclosed; all around he has made a wall. Then he cries, "Help, help!"

He has done the whole thing! Now he is enclosed, imprisoned. This is childish, but this is all that you have done also. You have made a house all around yourself, and now you are crying, "Help, help!" And the misery becomes a millionfold - because there are helpers who are also in the same boat.

It happened that one very beautiful woman went to see her psychiatrist for the first time. The psychiatrist said, "Come closer please." When she came closer, he simply jumped and hugged and kissed the woman. She was shocked. Then he said, "Now sit down. This takes care of my problem, now what is your problem?"

The problem becomes multifold, because there are helpers who are in the same boat. And they would like to help, because when you help somebody the ego feels very good, very, very good - because you are a great helper, a great guru, a master; you are helping so many people. The greater the crowd of your followers, the better you feel.

But you are in the same boat - you cannot help.

        Rather, you will harm.

People who still have their own problems cannot be of much help. Only someone who has no problems of his own can help you. Only then is there the clarity to see, to see through you. A mind that has no problems of its own can see you, you become transparent.

A mind that has no problems of its own can see through itself; that's why it becomes capable of seeing through others.

In the West, there are many schools of psychoanalysis, many schools, and no help is reaching people, but rather, harm. Because the people who are helping others, or trying to help, or posing as helpers, are in the same boat.

...It is difficult to see one's own ego.

It is very easy to see other's egos. But that is not the point, you cannot help them.

Try to see your own ego.

        Just watch it.

Don't be in a hurry to drop it, just watch it. The more you watch, the more capable you will become. Suddenly one day, you simply see that it has dropped. And when it drops by itself, only then does it drop. There is no other way. Prematurely you cannot drop it.

It drops just like a dead leaf.

The tree is not doing anything - just a breeze, a situation, and the dead leaf simply drops. The tree is not even aware that the dead leaf has dropped. It makes no noise, it makes no claim - nothing.

The dead leaf simply drops and shatters on the ground, just like that.

When you are mature through understanding, awareness, and you have felt totally that ego is the cause of all your misery, simply one day you see the dead leaf dropping.

It settles into the ground, dies of its own accord. You have not done anything so you cannot claim that you have dropped it. You see that it has simply disappeared, and then the real center arises.

And that real center is the soul, the self, the god, the truth, or whatsoever you want to call it.

It is nameless, so all names are good.

You can give it any name of your own liking.

http://deoxy.org/egofalse.htm
http://findrealsuccess.blogspot.com/2010/06/ten-rules-for-being-human.html

Free e-book: Branding & Marketing for Renewable Energy Companies

In order for us to be prepare for the future we must look at the forces that is driving the innovation of energy.

Free e-book: Branding & Marketing for Renewable Energy Companies | Ted_Page

The Sun Is Waking Up!!!

Earth is bracing for a cosmic tsunami Tuesday night as tons of plasma from a massive solar flare head directly toward the planet.

The Sun's surface erupted early Sunday morning, shooting a wall of ionized atoms directly at Earth, scientists say. It is expected to create a geomagnetic storm and a spectacular light show -- and it could pose a threat to satellites in orbit, as well.

"This eruption is directed right at us and is expected to get here early in the day on Aug. 4," said Leon Golub of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. "It's the first major Earth-directed eruption in quite some time."

The solar eruption, called a coronal mass ejection, was spotted by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, which captures high-definition views of the sun at a variety of wavelengths. SDO was launched in February and peers deep into the layers of the sun, investigating the mysteries of its inner workings.

"We got a beautiful view of this eruption," Golub said. "And there might be more beautiful views to come if it triggers aurorae."

Views of aurorae are usually associated with Canada and Alaska, but even skywatchers in the northern U.S. mainland are being told they can look toward the north Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for rippling "curtains" of green and red light.

When a coronal mass ejection reaches Earth, solar particles stream down our planet's magnetic field lines toward the poles. In the process, the particles collide with atoms of nitrogen and oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere, which then glow, creating an effect similar to miniature neon signs.

The interaction of the solar particles with our planet's magnetic field has the potential to create geomagnetic storms, or disturbances, in Earth's magnetosphere. And while aurorae are normally visible only at high latitudes, they can light up the sky even at lower latitudes during a geomagnetic storm.

Fortunately for Earth-bound observers, the atmosphere filters out nearly all of the radiation from the solar blast, so the flare shouldn't pose a health hazard, experts say. Pilots and passengers in airplanes may experience increased radiation levels akin to getting an X-ray.

The solar particles also could affect satellites, though scientists think that possibility is remote. Orbital Sciences Corp. believe a similar blast may have knocked its Galaxy 15 satellite permanently out of action this year.

This type of solar event has both government officials and satellite manufacturers
worrying.

NASA scientists warned recently that high-energy electric pulses from the sun could cripple our electrical grid for years, causing billions in damages. In fact, the House is so concerned that the Energy and Commerce committee voted unanimously to approve a bill allocating $100 million to protect the energy grid from this rare but potentially devastating occurrence.

The sun's activity usually ebbs and flows on a fairly predictable cycle. Typically, a cycle lasts about 11 years, taking roughly 5.5 years to move from a solar minimum, a period of time when there are few sunspots, to peak at the solar maximum, during which sunspot activity is amplified.

The last solar maximum occurred in 2001. The latest minimum was particularly weak and long- lasting.

The most recent solar eruption is one of the first signs that the sun
is waking up -- and heading

http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/scitech/2010/04/22/stunning-images-sun-nasas-solar-dynamics-observatory/#slide=1

I know why the caged bird sings

I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou
A free bird leaps on the back
Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.

But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill for
The caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through
The sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright
Lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with
A fearful trill of things unknown
But longed for still and his
Tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

Ten Rules for Being Human

I thought this was worth motioning

Ten Rules for Being Human

by Cherie Carter-Scott

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.

2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”

4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.

6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”

7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. It was made of plastic foam and fiberglass over a steel frame, which is all that remained early Tuesday.

The fire spread from the statue to an adjacent amphitheater but was confined to the attic area, and no one was injured, police Chief Mark Neu said. The fire department would release a monetary damage estimate Tuesday, he said.

Once again, things that make you say hmmm.

Sinkhole in Guatemala: Giant Could Get Even Bigger

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz0smO2GM6hxvXWQ8yy20kET1f8mM73ezRci2yMoDp6SUZ1K5PSbpT__pzX5988qph8cl5fZQvIbGV-iJ2j6ewqjRX2IvMbd1oKmuDyiXhqL2R9bJT67MKZ2cjVFEG2Y-OXexNVq1YkMQ/s400/hole.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478007093842180322" />

Ker Than

for National Geographic News

Published June 1, 2010

A huge sinkhole in Guatemala City (map), Guatemala, crashed into being on Sunday, reportedly swallowing a three-story building—and echoing a similar, 2007 sinkhole in Guatemala.

The sinkhole has likely been weeks or even years in the making—floodwaters from tropical storm Agatha caused the sinkhole to finally collapse, scientists say.

The sinkhole appears to be about 60 feet (18 meters) wide and about 30 stories deep, said James Currens, a hydrogeologist at the University of Kentucky.

(See more photos of the Guatemala City sinkhole, and a Texas sinkhole picture.)

Sinkholes are natural depressions that can form when water-saturated soil and other particles become too heavy and cause the roofs of existing voids in the soil to collapse.

Another way sinkholes can form is if water enlarges a natural fracture in a limestone bedrock layer. As the crack gets bigger, the topsoil gently slumps, eventually leaving behind a sinkhole.

It's unclear which mechanism is behind the 2010 Guatemala sinkhole, but in either case the final collapse can be sudden, Currens said.

(Related: "Sinkhole Holds 12,000-Year-Old Clues to Early Americans.")

2010 Guatemala Sinkhole Could Grow

A ruptured sewer line is thought to have caused the sinkhole that appeared in Guatemala City in 2007.

The 2010 Guatemala sinkhole could have formed in a similar fashion, Currens said. A burst sanitary or storm sewer may have been slowly saturating the surrounding soil for a long time before tropical storm Agatha added to the inundation.

"The tropical storm came along and would have dumped even more water in there, and that could have been the final trigger that precipitated the collapse," Currens said.

(See Guatemala pictures from National Geographic Traveler magazine.)

Depending on the makeup of the subsurface layer, the Guatemala sinkhole "could eventually enlarge and take in more buildings," he said.

Typically, officials fill in sinkholes with large rocks and other debris. But the 2010 Guatemala sinkhole "is so huge that it's going to take a lot of fill material to fill it," Currens said.

"I don't know what they're going to do."

The Gulf Oil Spill Crisis

This is the live feed from Bp who is the oil rig owner of the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. Lets take a step back and look at the Exxon-Valdez incident. The oil cause so much damage to the ecosystems of that region. It took approximately twenty years before that region was stable again. Fishermen can not cast their net because the water is polluted. This is day 37 of this incident and the numbers state that 10,000 barrels of oil is spilling. That is 370,000 barrels of oil in 37 days. Tell me what you think about the oil spill in the gulf. How much oil do you need to make gasoline?

New Discovery about the Fabric of Space-Time

Scientists have turned up rare evidence that space-time is smooth as Einstein predicted, while pushing closer to a complete theory of gravity.
