We all have the dream of going to college. Whether it’s to get a degree for teaching, nursing, accounting, or even just to learn more about the certain subjects that interest us. With how rough today’s economy is, you almost need a college degree to make it in the future. If you have the dream to go to college, don’t let anything get in the way.

It is easy to say that you will just stick with the job you’re working at, and work it the rest of your life. It doesn’t matter how much you hate it, or how little it pays, it’s just “easier” to stick with that job. Too many people today don’t go to school to work their dream job. Every policy is going to vary in price, but make sure you know what you’re getting.

Check with your college: Most bigger colleges have their own insurance companies that they work with. If you have student loans, they will simply bill your loans at the end of your college career. This makes it very easy for you, if you can’t afford to pay the bills today.

Look into government programs: The government has plenty of programs that you can look into. Most of these programs have an income requirement, and is geared toward those not making a lot each, and every year. Check with your local city health services department to see what they can do for you.

You’ve heard great things about community colleges that they save you money, and they may even be closer to home. Like anything in life though, you’re going to find that some things have disadvantages as well. While I’m not against community colleges, there are some things that you have to consider when thinking about attending a community college for the first two years.

The atmosphere isn’t the same

The community college atmosphere is nothing like the university atmosphere. At a bigger school, you’re going to get a bigger student body, shops all around, and most likely a big campus. When comparing the two, many students still think that the community college feels a lot like high school still.

Not as experienced

You’ll soon find out that many community college teachers aren’t as experienced as those at a university. Is this true for all colleges? No! You’ll find out that the teachers at a university are going to have more experience, as well as have a little more life experience as well in the field you’re learning about.

Lack of resources

A community college isn’t going to have all of the resources that your bigger school generally has. You’ll soon find out that a bigger school is going to have bigger facilities, such as libraries, computer labs, etc. This isn’t going to mean that your school isn’t going to have anything, because community colleges still do have resources such as a library.

Hard to transfer courses

Most community colleges work with local universities, but if you find out that you don’t want to go to that particular university, you’re going to have a hard time transferring your credits to colleges across the United States.

You’ll want to consider all of these options when you’re looking to attend a community college. In my opinion, there are a lot of advantages, as well as disadvantages. You’ll want to create a simple pros, and cons list, and see which one will work best for you!

If you’re just starting your first year in college, you may be hearing about all the things you “need”. College although it can be like high school, it has it’s differences. You will find that you need different supplies for conveniences, and that it can be pretty pricey. So, to clear up a common question, “Do I need a laptop in college?” there really isn’t an answer that fits everyone’s opinion. Everyone is different, has a different budget, and can do without certain items in college.

Do I need a laptop?

* A lot of college students take quite a few english classes, so having a laptop can be extremely convenient.
* It can be easier to type up lecture notes than to write them.

* A lot of college students have a few hours in between classes sometimes, so having the Internet is a great thing to keep busy.
* This is where they store all their school work to keep it organized.

* A laptop can be used for many things, not just for your college classes.
* It’s a huge convenience to be able to pick up your computer and take it with you anywhere you go.

As you can see, laptops can be very convenient especially in your college years. So, if you’re not sure whether or not you want to spend all that money on a laptop, consider the points listed above and see if they would help you out more in college.

As you probably already know, college offers us a lot of flexibility. We are able to attend the certain days we want to, have the opportunity to take online, hybrid, and or campus classes, and we can schedule our classes for almost anytime of the day. Flexibility in college is important because all of us have our own routine, and schedule that we need to stick to.

If you’re getting ready to sign up for your classes, and you’re thinking about considering night classes for the first time, you may be wondering whether or not they are for you. Everyone has their own opinion, and likes different things, but it’s important to choose a schedule you’ll be happy with, or you’ll be miserable all semester. To help you decide whether or not you should sign up for night classes, consider a few of these pros and cons!

Pros:

You have all day to do whatever you want since your classes are at night.
You can work on your homework all day before your class starts so it’s fresh in your mind.
You don’t have to wake up early for class.
It’s out the way, and doesn’t interrupt the middle of your day.
It’s at night which may be good if you like to stay up later and get up later.

Cons:

You may think of it as having to wait around for class.
It’s not in the morning so you can’t just get it over with when your day starts.
It’s at night so you may not be able to focus as much if you’re tired.
You may not be able to go out with your friends or make plans if it’s scheduled for later.
You may be tired especially if you just got of work, and then are going to class.

It really just depends on what your schedule is like. Every likes a different routine, and some people like staying up late, while others like to get an early start in the morning. So, to decide whether night classes are for you or not, see which one out ways the other one more.
