· Manager - Operational Support Systems

POSITION PURPOSE:
The OSS Manager develops and maintains the Operational Support Systems (OSS) of the Telecommunications-Operations department of client in North America and other countries around the world. This OSS is developed and operated on the File maker database platform and supports Order Management, Project Management and Procurement for the rollout of client's telecommunications platforms and customer networks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

FileMaker (Version 9) database development.

Maintenance and support of existing in-house solution as well as new development.

Define database requirements based on user and process requirements and translate these into a database design.

Filemaker 9 Database development, incl. web-based and native GUI.

Design and develop Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions to other systems (e.g. SAP).

Establish and administrate database server environment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management.

End-user support and training.

Interface with colleagues (users, other developers) domestically and internationally.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 5 years experience in database development.

Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.

Creative, enthusiastic and self motivated team-player with the ability to grasp new ideas and integrate them into desired results. Works efficiently under pressure and managing timelines and resources efficiently.

Organized, thorough and detailed oriented, while not loosing site of the overall picture.

Extensive Filemaker experience: Comprehensive understanding of complex relationships, scripting, calculations, value lists, layout setup, GUI development, plug-ins, FileMaker Server administration, web-publishing, XML, ODBC and the entire FM 9 product line and its features.

Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating System.

Knowledge of the Telecommunications industry and/or Procurement and Accounting processes a plus.
